Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of eating a plush toy, and now it is time for you to post until the eating cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FRUCTIFY!
-
First post after BK!
-
Yesterday I guess I failed to mention reading the notes, but I always read the notes before I post.
-
T.O.D.
Anne Francis - I only know her from HONEY WEST and FUNNY GIRL
DAVID Wayne - WAIT TILL THE SUN SHINES, NELLIE
I don't know Elizabeth Arden Allen
-
Will we have any videos from the Mancini show?
-
First post after TCB's 4th post!

T.O.D.
Anne Francis - I only know her from HONEY WEST and FUNNY GIRL
DAVID Wayne - WAIT TILL THE SUN SHINES, NELLIE
I don't know Elizabeth Arden Allen
I only know Elizabeth Allen from Do I Hear a Waltz?

I keep getting kicked out of my iPad.
-
I keep getting kicked out of my iPad.
Oh, no!
-
I keep being told that I am not connected to the Internet.
-
No videos. I think I explained - when we began posting the videos some of our regular audience members decided they could skip the show and watch the videos. I found that rather obnoxious and we stopped shooting them two shows ago.
-
Good morning to all
-
TOD
David Wayne
Portrait of Jennie
How To MArry a Millionaire
The Andromeda Strain
Adam's Rib
The Front Page
and a Twlight Zone episode from Season 1
Apple Dumpling Gang which I don't remember his role but BK was also in it.
-
T.O.D.
Anne Francis
BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK
-
Good morning, all.
-
Anne Francis - FORBIDDEN PLANET
David Wayne - I always think of TEAHOUSE OF THE AUGUST MOON, which I believe was a TV production but then I also conflate that with the Brando movie.
Oddly, neither of these people registered high on my radar over the years. I'm probably forgetting a bunch of stuff.
-
I remember the no videos policy, but I must have taken it as more of a threat than a done deal. :)

It never rains. It just pours.
It's always been difficult to find the right actors to do audio versions of my one-person plays in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection. It's a matter of finding (1) a seasoned actor who is vocally right for the role, and (2) an actor willing to make the time commitment to do the play "right". Thus far, only ORSON WELLES and CLARA BOW have successfully found their way to audio.
In the last two weeks, that might very well have changed. Not only is the multi-talented Fred Frees (Paul's son) over halfway through recording the audio version of my new novel, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE, but I have also signed ACX agreements with actors to do my one-person plays on Spencer Tracy, Basil Rathbone and Carole Lombard. And, I have another actor circling around Clark Gable.
Hopefully, all of these projects will result in a completed audio versions of the plays. Fingers crossed.

Tuesday. I am NOT expecting to see my shadow so much this morning, so it is getting better....
Today is my appointment with my oncologist. He will set up a cat scan and then let me know the schedule for my infusion which should start next week or so....we shall see.

Shocking news from DR DANISE last night!
-
Continued LEVI vibes for MR BK. And visiting Nick Redman vibes as well. Be careful on your jogs!
-
Oh yes -- BIG vibes for Nick Redman.
-
TOD:
David Wayne: Don't care for him too much, kind of in the Tony Randall barrel for me....a bit smug and too pleased with himself in most of his roles.
Anne Francis: Bad Day at Black Rock, Forbidden Planet, Susan Slept Here, an episode of Alfred Hitchcock involving an elevator and a fuse box - not sure if that's the one MR BK mentioned in the notes.... AND years ago we saw her in Chicago playing M'Lynn in STEEL MAGNOLIAS - she was very good and still beautiful. It was probably 1987 or 1988....
Elizabeth Allen - playing Paul Lynde's wife on his tv show, Donovan's Reef, Bracken's World, and Diamond Head.
-
Ah.....IMDB tells us that Elizabeth Allen was the salesgirl to Anne Francis in the After Hours segment of THE TWILIGHT ZONE.....so I will add that to my lists for both actresses.
"I'm looking for a gift for my mother..." :D
-
I really liked that Paul Lynde show, which I recall from its credits was based on a play.
Our Yeshivah halls abounded with Paul Lynde lines like "How goes the rat race?" "The rats are winning."
-
It was must -see TV at the Yeshivah of Flatbush.
-
More and more vibes to Jrand!

delightful and wonderful dating news from Danise, some good news with the work bad news.
-
GOOD CATCH SCAN RESULTS VIBES FOR DR JRAND!
-
I can't think of anything I didn't like David Wayne in. A favorite is THE TENDER TRAP.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Anne Francis, always delightful but I can't think of a favorite.
-
I had a nice long sleep, although I discovered on an early morning jaunt to the bathroom that my microwave has died. It's lights were flashing on and off and the timer/clock was stuck on 5:17. I've unplugged it, hoping that when I replug it, it will reset and be fine. We'll see.
At any rate it's a bit of work I'd rather have avoided today since I've got things to do pertaining to my Ohio trip.
-
DR Danise, I guess the State of Florida likes to dump its employees to save on retirement and pension? If this has been going on for some time, there may be previous victims to interview. I am really sorry this has happened to you.
-
I do not know Elizabeth Allen by name.
-
I recently saw Elizabeth Allen in something, but I cannot remember what it was.
I love David Wayne's oldest train conductor in Richard Lester's FINDERS KEEPERS.
I cannot think of a single Anne Francis film beyond FORBIDDEN PLANET, which I love.
-
Speaking of FORBIDDEN PLANET and its debt to Shakespeare. last night I started watching my close personal friend Ian McKellan's performance of KING LEAR, which Trevor Nunn has set in some sorta 19th century kingdom.
-
And that leads to my Ohio trip since KING LEAR has many resonances to my brothers and me. I sent Randy a text yesterday morning asking if he and Jo could put up with me as a guest for a week or more. His response was, Hell, no, but the Macbeths will put you up.
I am looking forward to seeing him and my wonderful sister-in-law Jo.
-
Continued LEVI vibes for MR BK. And visiting Nick Redman vibes as well. Be careful on your jogs!
I'll drink to all that!
-
I have to deal with a printer issue this morning along with the microwave. Skip the coffee, bring on the booze.
-
I've cleaned off the microwave and plugged it back in. The clock reset, and it seems to be fine now.
-
DR Jeanne, I agree with you about the cat site I posted. Because of the wait for the Guys & Dolls check, I've already lost several cats I thought seemed perfect. I can only hope they were adopted and not put down. I'm currently waiting to make this Ohio trip before I consider any adoption, and I do worry about the fates of some of these animals.
-
More fresh hell: my Medicare check has not arrived at my HMO, and it was mailed eight days ago. I am wondering if some US Postal machinery has eaten.
-
TCB & George, how is the air quality up there? It has been worse everyday here. This morning it is ugly out.
Last night was the first time my lungs felt it. I am walking early today to beat the heat, if only I could avoid the smoke.
-
Check finding vibes for DR elmore.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Back is acting up today. Don't like that.
-
TCB, I hope you're feeling better.
-
Vibes for everyone. It's that kind of a Tuesday.

TOD
Francis: Forbidden Planet
Wayne: Almost everything, from the cast albums of Finian's Rainbow and The Happy Time to his stint on St. Elsewhere to Adam's Rib.
Allen: The Japanese broadcast of 42nd Street, the cast recording of Do I Hear a Waltz?

PLaybill.com is reporting that Barbara Cook has passed away at 89.

Good morning all. Vibes to all in need. Thank you for the good wishes. Yeah, I have had some ups and downs this past month.
I do have a job fair to go to tomorrow and a friend posted on FaceBook that the Tax Collector is hiring. The good thing about the Tax Collector is that they are part of the FRS (Florida Retirement System) so if I get a job there, I would be able to finish the 3 years I need to get my full retirement. Bad news is the pay. It would be a LOT less then what I was making. I might have to try (operative word there since I'm not having much luck finding now) to get a 2nd part time job to keep my head above water.
Part of me is thinking about applying for disability from SS. At least I would have an income. I'm told that having diabetes is now considered one. Add all my other health issues and I think I would qualify.
If I don't find gainful employment by the end of this month, I will more then likely go that route.

I saw that. so sad. Several months ago, she cancelled her concerts and I wondered if this was a retirement or a health issue.

I've never noticed it in my lungs. The only time it registered to me was last week when I could see it, and not too much at all since...but then maybe I just wasn't paying attention. ::)

Truly.
No matter what else is happening, I need to listen to some Barbara Cook tonight.

Hi all, Just wanted to share--I just got an email invitation to test with the Tax Collectors office! Part of me hates to say anything because I've been hopeful before and it came to nothing. All I can do is take it one step at a time--and celebrate both the small and the larger victories with my friends.
I would text David to let him know but he is at work and I refuse to bother him until we talk tonight. I did tell you he's in San Francisco so there is a time difference between us?
-
DR Danise is there a way to find out what you would get from SS if you went on disability to help you decide regarding a lesser paying job & disability?
-
Good news regarding the call to test with the tax collectors office.

Tuesday afternoon greetings! Richard and I took Rob and Mary Linda to the Dayton airport this morning for their flight to California for her brother's wedding this weekend. We did some errands and stopped for lunch at a place that had outside seating with a bird's eye view of this unfolding:
Bomb squad... (http://www.whio.com/news/local/bomb-squad-remove-detonate-suspicious-device-found-kettering/sz2PC3StSqErHkrmDHvGBK/)
While we ate, a caravan of emergency vehicles left the scene, leaving just a maintenance crew to clear away the orange cones and yellow tape.
-
DR Danise, good luck with the tax collector! There's a lot to be said for staying in the public employees' retirement system...
-
Very exciting DR GINNY!
-
Job vibes for DR DANISE.
Check vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
I am awaiting a call so that I can have my port put in place.
Infusion starts next Tuesday.....on we go.
-
Very exciting DR GINNY!
Certainly not something we see every day, DR JRand. One of the vehicles was from WHIO, Channel 7, so I'll watch their newscast at 5pm to see what more I can find out.

Sorry to hear about Barbara Cook :-\

DR Danise, good luck with the tax collector! There's a lot to be said for staying in the public employees' retirement system...
It does sound like a big bonus. Could you take in a roommate instead of having a second job?
Of course, major vibes you receive a job offer!
-
Thanks, DR Jane. I'm not sure. I'll have to look into it but if I can get back with a government job I will have good health insurance, life insurance, eye, dental and so many other benefits that makes it worth having the lower pay. I do know if I go on disability, I would be restricted as to how many hours and how much I could earn. I don't like that idea.
Something else I didn't tell you all last night--part of the excuse to get me out the door was that I was "untrainable". They had a new computer system that had 2 or 3 codes you could use for every action. No matter which code I picked---you guessed it--I always picked the wrong one. If I picked the code they said to use, it was wrong for the situation, if that same situation came up that was the wrong code to use because they changed their minds and the other code was the one to use. Oy.
Anyway, one of the things I did was in my job hunt I found a life insurance company that was willing to pay for me to go to class and pay for me to get my life insurance FL license. It was a 2 weekend class then you go sit for the state exam. I'm "untrainable", remember? I knew almost zero about the different kinds of Life Insurance and how they work. I took the class, made it a POINT to not study, sat for and PASSED the State Exam first try. I was told there are some who take the test 2-4 times. The company couldn't believe it when I told them what I did. I can't sell the insurance until I get the license in hand then I will go out for field training so I'm a long way from getting on a paying basis. Could be a couple months---that's why I don't count it as a job yet. I'm not sure about being a sales person but I will do it if I have to.

Is selling life insurance strictly a commission job? Either way it could fill that part time 2nd job position.

Good evening!
-
Sorry to hear about both Barbara Cook and Glen Campbell.
-
The only time I saw Barbara Cook perform was at a tribute to lyricist David Zippel. It was at the Allen Room at Lincoln Center. Brent B and Jason Graae also performed. I don't remember what she sang but I'm sure she was great!
-
Nice to see DR Danise!

I had two nice thick pork chops to cook for Vixdad and my dinner tonight
-
I was trying to think of something to jazz them up a bit and my eye fell on the bottle of peach/white wine balsamic vinegar I bought when I was last in Virginia
-
While the chops were browning in the skillet I chopped some onion and put it in a skillet with some butter, added a handful of dried cranberries ,one chopped delicious Apple , and poured some of the balsamic on it and added a little brown sugar and covered it to keep the flavor in and let it simmer
-
I rounded the meal off with a cheap trick... Stove top pork flavored stuffing and steamed baby carrots
-
When I served the meal I mounded the onion, cranberry, Apple mixture on top of the pork
-
It came out quite well if I do say so myself
-
I will have to buy some more of this balsamic when I'm in Virgina in 2 weeks
-
And my serving is where?

Be back later.

And she's studying her her MCats because she had decided to go on to medical school and become an MD. So we may not get yo see her... Fingers crossed we do for my moms sake

The balsamic I bought was in a specialty shop in the shops at Shirlington where he Signature theatre lives

I am stunned to read about Barbara Cook.

I had heard about Glen Campbell on the news this afternoon.

I saw Glen Campbell when he played with the Beach Boys, and a few years later I saw him as a headliner in Las Vegas.

What is this page five malarky? We've been on damn page five for six hours.
