Well, you've read the notes, the notes had missing pith, and now it is time for you to post until the pithy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SAPIOSEXUAL!
-
First post after BK!
-
Well, I will say good night, although I doubt I will be able to sleep.
-
First post after TCB!
-
in addition to the aching in my legs and my back, the muscles in my feet are cramping up.
-
Good night, George.

~~~Feel Better Soon Vibes!!~~~
Good night, George.
Good night, Tom.
-
Pain-free vibes to TCB!
-
That was fun, reading the details of George's adventure in yesterday's notes.
-
Thanks to Chas, John G, and George for their kind comments last night!
-
I had no idea until looking it up on wiki last night that "One's On the Way" was actually written by the distinguished author Shel Silverstein.
-
Good morning to all
Another brilliant Stanley Cortez film that has expert camera work is The Night of the Hunter.
I got the Criterion release from 2010 which was restored by BK's neighbor Robert Gitt. There is also an interview with him.
Most interesting is on a separate disk is outtakes, alternate scenes/takes of the movie and you can hear Charles Laughton's directorial process as he works with and molds their performances especially those of the children. He is sometimes hard on Shelley Winters. The fascinating documentary is show in film order so you can rewatch that way. There is an intro with Mr. Gitt and Leonard Maltin talking about how he found the footage, restored it and put it together.
-
Also glad to see that the Blu-Ray release of Lost Horizon that Mr. Gitt worked on for many years is making way to a new digital release. It will include an additional 1 minute of footage recently found.
I hope with all the new digital processing techniques the release will be a lot better than the last DVD release.
-
Good morning from West Seneca, NY! The weather is going to be great today-- temps in the low 70's.
-
Sunday!
Congrats to MR BK on the successful run of MURDER.
-
I, too, enjoy THE UNLOCKED WINDOW - Louise Latham notwithstanding - there was a remake for the 1980's version of AHP, in color that used the old b/w Hitchcock intros in a colorized version.....that one may have only been a half hour....and it may be on YouTube....but it's not really worth watching.....
-
Here is the picture that DR JANE asked be posted yesterday....Keith enjoying MR BK's favorite ice cream - a $1.99 cone....
Good morning.
-
Sunday morning greetings! Enjoying some solitude this morning...
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept late, amd I am feeling much better. I am having solid food for the first time in two days, so we'll see how that goes.
-
I'm happy to learn that the show was a sellout for its last performance. And on to the musical!
-
I had an email from Randy, who's getting revved up about my Ohio return. I will call Joshie in a bit to see how the score for the Twelfth Night Overture is progressing. He was shopping for a pair of shoes yesterday, and I am curious to see if he found anything he liked.
-
DR Elmore, I am also looking forward to your visit and agree with you comment from yesterday that we should plan something fun!
I know that Randy and Jo have family plans for Labor Day and I look forward to seeing family I love. Everything else is contingent upon Carmon's rehearsals for the piece; I may be missing one, if the symphony still follows its Monday night rehearsals,and I suspect there will not be another until the day of the concert.
I need to see Joe Deer at Wright State a some point and make a couple of trips to Oxford, so can we plan around that?
-
I need a run to Staples to pick up packing chips and tape. I want to ship these three cartons to the library on Tuesday, if possible.
I'm pretty open during your time frame, so let's talk after Wednesday, OK?
in addition to the aching in my legs and my back, the muscles in my feet are cramping up.
Sorry. I had foot cramps least night and that was bad enough. At least I can still jump out of bed fairly quickly and walk them off.
-
Good 😊
-
DR TCB, no more cramping vives!
-
DR TCB, I used to have horrible leg and foot cramps. Are you getting enough potassium?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sitting here trying to get my own schedule straight for the next couple of weeks. Got a few things going on that are making it something of a challenge.
Ah, there's an email now! Hopefully an answer I need.
-
It wasn't any of the answers I'm waiting for!
-
Well, that's my day so far...
-
I used my Sraples rewards and got $10.00 off my $41.00 bill. I am ready to pack these cartons.
-
I'm packed and ready to schedule a pickup.
-
I don't know why I've chosen what I am listening to but it's all certainly cheering me up.
I wrote two charts for Celia's album, and I hadn't listened to it in about six months. Neither chart embarrasses me, and I love her recording of "A Tree In the Park."
The Mancini orchestrations for Pavarotti are really cherce, and the title song "Mama" just soars and bubbles like a good pasta sauce.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
That was fun, reading the details of George's adventure in yesterday's notes.
Thanks, Fred! It was fun experiencing it, too!
-
Well, I must be off. Today is the annual picnic for the Olympia chapter of PFLAG. My sister and her boyfriend are on the board, and my niece used to be on the board. I was asked to help set up and to get some cookies at Costco, so I'm off to Costco.
Be back later, and have a good day, all!
-
Feel better!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think it's time to confront the horrifying situation in Charlottesville, VA. I think these alt-right idiots carrying their mother's patio lamps like rejects from Survivor, toting violence and at least one murder this weekend, should be identified and forced into the military, where - if they do not die - they might actually learn that the world is much bigger than their tiny and ugly perspective.
I lay the blame for this mess on all Trump voters.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Pain-free vibes for TCB.
-
Took the folks for a drive this afternoon. We went across the river on a new bridge that spans the Ohio. It was beautiful and the water was refreshing.
-
On the way back, we stopped at White Castle. They have a new treat Jane would not like. Warm waffles filled with melting Nutella. Yum.
-
White Castle is advertising the imported Belgian waffle sandwiches and treats very heavily in my area....but they don't look very good to me....in person, they might be okay....
-
Feel better vibes for DR TCB.
-
Closing afternoon vibes for MR BK & the MURDER Co.....it has been most interesting reading about the process and the result.
Super vibes for the upcoming Coachella show for DR YACKO.
-
DR John your drive sounds lovely.
So true 😁
-
Up from a nap.
-
This morning we had fun at the day after the wedding breakfast and stayed longer than we planned.
-
Then we met up with a woman I have known since kindergarten and lives in Atascadero. We had a nice visit with her.
-
At this point we are running late to meet up with our friends in Carmel, hoever......
-
How could we not take a 5 minute detour to visit friends who are traveling the opposite direction.
-
I hope we don't run into traffic or other problems before our destination. We need to check in on our Monterey hotel and pick up some wine to take with us.
-
Every time I read Coachella I think you're going to a handbag store
-
I got to church before 8 and set up coffee hour , I was also a communion assistant,lay reader and acolyte today
-
Another group showed up to take care of the 10:30 service crowd and I headed out to the pharmacy to get my drugs
-
I don't think I mentioned the fiasco thus has become
-
I went to have my blood work done on Wednesday morning and was assured the blood work would be at the dr by Thursday It was not; nor did it arrive Friday
-
The dr was closed for the weekend
-
Minday I was told they would call the lab
-
Tuesday they told me it was on the Drs desk
-
Wednesday they to,d me it as on the Drs desk
-
Thursday they told me it wasn't in yet
-
Then it was
-
Then I explained that I was trying to be patent but after relying on these pills daily fir 29 years I was getting somewhat testy about the delay in calling in my renewal
-
So finally at 1 pm I was told it was called in
-
I arrived at the pharmacy at 7 and they said nothing was called it.
-
It was the Drs late night so I called right there from the pharmacy counter and was assured the script was sent via the computer system
-
She said she would send it again while simultaneously the woman at the desk suddenly found the original order, apologized and said it would be ready in 15 minutes
-
I was paged in 5 minutes and advised they had insufficient meds t fill the prescription but gave me 3 tablets to hold me over, although they assured me that the prescription would be ready by Friday afternoon
-
It wasn't
-
Saturdayafternoon I received an automated call from my pharmacy telling me I had no refills and asking if I wanted them to call my doctor
-
I called the pharmacy relayed my tale to the poor fell who had the bad fortune to answer the phone and explained I need this fixed now
-
He said the would order my meds on Monday
-
I explained that would not be acceptable.
-
Surely I said since there is a CVS in every single neighbor hood one of them must have sufficient stock
-
This solution had not occurred to him but checking the computer he was able to find they had it at a place 20 minutes from my house
-
He told me that he transferred my script there and it would be ready in an hour
-
That is terrible DR Vixmom. How incompetent at both the pharmacy and your doctor's office.
-
So I drove over there and arrived an hour later to discover that the pharmacy had been closed for 90 minutes
-
This solution had not occurred to him but checking the computer he was able to find they had it at a place 20 minutes from my house
OMG!!!!
-
I drove home (vixdad was with me a dissuaded me from driving to the pharmacy) and called the pharmacy git the same idiot on the phone and expressed my displeasure
-
Strongly
-
He sad there was nothing he could do because once he transferred my prescription only that pharmacy could transfer it on
-
There is a trickle down effectQ the incompetency of the Trump administration has made its way to CVS!
-
So this morning after church I went to the pharmacy where l and behold they had my prescription and sufficient stock to fill it
-
Which they did and as I went to pay they told me it would be $90
-
I normally pay $10
-
They didn't process it through the insurance so they had to void it out and reprocess it
-
Then they asked for $30
-
I gave it to them
-
PBS is shilling again, but i did hear on the BS NewsHour one of the alt-Right asses explaining how the death and the auto running down the crowd were accidents provoked by opponents of the White Trash Rally threatening violence. Oy!
-
It was a 90 day supply and I was tired of fighting
-
It was a 90 day supply and I was tired of fighting
I think you need to change doctors. This is as incompetent as my HMO.
-
Then I came home and made a nice pot of tea for Vixdad and myself
-
O. M. G.!! :o
~~~Vibes of Comfort and Coping for Vixmom~~~
-
I'm home from the PFLAG picnic. It was really nice. I'm not directly involved, so I didn't know many people at all, but everyone enjoyed it.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Ah, Vixmom! What a disaster! It reminds me of the situation before my first eye surgery. It took a full TWO WEEKS to obtain three prescriptions for eye drops. One blunder after another, just like your had.
I would suggest looking for another pharmacy. I stopped doing business with CVS long ago. The employees were rude and unhelpful beyond words. Of course, it varies from store to store.
As to why there is so much incompetence these days, my view is that (1) they hire untrained staff so they don't have to pay them much, (2) they often don't give them sufficient training, so the employee is as frustrated as their customers, (3) the employees feel no loyalty--why should they when they're treated badly?--so they leave as soon as they can find something else. And the cycle goes on. Will more automation help? Maybe. I'd rather have good customer service from a human, myself.
-
CVS ought to give Vixmom a free Valium prescription for all her trouble.
-
DR TCB, I used to have horrible leg and foot cramps. Are you getting enough potassium?
Magnesium also comes to mind. I use a magnesium gel (also comes as an oil) that I can rub on sore muscles when they tighten up. Available on Amazon.
-
I am shocked and horrified at DR VIXMOM's story......my mother has her prescriptions at CVS and has had a couple of similar - but not nearly as terrible - stories.
I have my prescriptions at Walgreen's and have to say I have not had any problems except the one time the technician at the hospital sent in my order a few days early......
-
Jack, how are you feeling these days?
-
I spent some times today browsing rental listings. Outrageous! I truly don't know how people pay these rents.
-
It was a 90 day supply and I was tired of fighting

The dr is fine , it's th new woman in the office. We've had this doctor for 23 years and I credit him with saving Vixdad's life then
-
CVS ought to give Vixmom a free Valium prescription for all her trouble.
I suspect he young man who had the misfortune to answer the phone when I called was in greater need of that particular prescription
-
The CVS takes our insurance , the pharmacy is open 24 hours and it's a block away. When I need to do this in 90 days I'll start at 80 days.
-
I have a physical scheduled in a couple of weeks I'll see if I can't get a couple of renewals on the next 90 day script
-
Vixmom, that's a true horror story of ineptitude that I thought only I encountered. Take two glasses of your favorite liquid medicine and chill.
-
Went to see Lady Macbeth, a wonderful film version of Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk. I don't know the opera also based on the book but I want to see it now.
-
PBS is again on its every whim schedule of begging for money. So, there's nothing on but the crap they roll out thinking it will entice viewers. I am watching the Kirk Douglas-Burt Lancaster film of Shaw's The Devil's Disciple, which I've not seen in 40 years or more.
-
Hyper violent and hyper passionate.
Of course, I was one of two people in the theater.

The opera has wonderful moments. I saw the Met production about 10 years ago which surprised me with its nudity from the male cast. I guess it was to point up her repressed desires. or the director's.
Try one of these on video. I prefer the Weigl film.

Hello! Is this Gordon's Pizza?
No sir, it's Google Pizza.
I must have dialed a wrong number. Sorry.
No sir, Google bought Gordon’s Pizza last month.
OK. I would like to order a pizza.
Do you want your usual, sir?
My usual? You know me?
According to our caller ID data sheet, the last 12 times you called you ordered an extra-large pizza with three cheeses, sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and meat balls on a thick crust.
OK! That’s what I want …
May I suggest that this time you order a pizza with ricotta, arugula, sun-dried tomatoes and olives on a whole wheat gluten free thin crust?
What? I detest vegetables.
Your cholesterol is not good, sir.
How the hell do you know?
Well, we cross-referenced your home phone number with your medical records. We have the result of your blood tests for the last 7 years.
Okay, but I do not want your rotten vegetable pizza! I already take medication for my cholesterol.
Excuse me sir, but you have not taken your medication regularly. According to our database, you only purchased a box of 30 cholesterol tablets once, at Drugsale Network, 4 months ago.
I bought more from another drugstore.
That doesn’t show on your credit card statement.
I paid in cash.
But you did not withdraw enough cash according to your bank statement.
I have other sources of cash.
That doesn’t show on your last tax return unless you bought them using an undeclared income source, which is against the law.
WHAT THE HELL?
I'm sorry, sir, we use such information only with the sole intention of helping you.
Enough already! I'm sick to death of Google, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and all the others. I'm going to an island without internet, cable TV, where there is no cell phone service and no one to watch me or spy on me.
I understand sir, but you need to renew your passport first. It expired 6 weeks ago.

It was. I'm not a big Lancaster fan, but he comes into the role when he ceases to be a pious prig. I loved Douglas, who as the devil gets the best lines, and Olivier, who has some good lines and funny scenes.

After the first 4 words I thought you were in Ohio
-
Ha, Vixmom.
Thanks for the recommendations, Elmore. I'll need to wait until I'm home.
-
Back from the closing of Dial 'M' for Murder. I know several of the actors are really going to miss this show, and those several actors are really kind of irritated that they didn't extend us - a bad decision, as we would have continued to do well for the next three weeks. There were only four empty seats at our final show. They did make some decent dough, so that's good. I was told the show went well (I arrived ten minutes before the end), and the audience seemed very happy. One audience member who knew who I was told me he'd just listened to the Tom Sawyer commentary and had enjoyed it very much.
-
Doug and I went to Mucho Mas for dinner and a little meeting - we had to postpone our Genghis Cohen visit for a couple of weeks.
-
Now I'm home and relaxing.
-
Doing nothing taxing.
-
Not even faxing.
-
Went to see Lady Macbeth
Sounds like some relatives I know.

-
BK - Is there any chance the play will be up for awards when theatre awards season rolls around in L.A.?
-
Congrats on the successful (if not extended) Dial M for Murder, BK!
-
Hopefully, they will learn from that mistaken decision.
-
And now, I'm off to see tonight's episode of "Game of Thrones," outside, projected on a workshop building with friends.
Be back later.
-
Congratulations on a great run, BK.
-
Good night, all.
-
Hard to know about awards. I guess we shall see.
-
Finished with my viewing. One rather interesting but not successful show, and one really good episode.

Don't you hate it when that happens?

The outside viewing of tonight's of "Game of Thrones" episode was colder than last week!

Good evening!

It was a very clear night and certainly not uncomfortable.

Sorry I have been E & T. I have been sleeping most of the evening.
