Well, you've read the notes, the notes had some pepper on them, and now it is time for you to post until the peppered cows come home.

And the word of the day is: NONESUCH!

When he signed off from work, he said he would be back later.

I hope George is okay.
Yes, I am quite fine. :)

I went to Taco Time for dinner and read up to the the last chapter in "First Lord's Fury" by Jim Butcher, the sixth and last book in his CODEX ALERA series.
-
When I came home, I wanted to finish the book, so I read the last chapter and finally finished it. It was a long one and took me more than a month to get through it all.
-
I hope George is okay.
Yes, I am quite fine. :)
Okay. You know how we worry.

After I finished my book, I finished burning a DVD of the last two episodes of "Game of Thrones" for my friend Margo, then watched some TV on my DVR.

We did, but her daughter hasn't. That's who the DVD is actually for.

My dream had me endlessly, repeatedly, working out "stop time" breaks in "I Love My Wife"...and was tied in with last night's IMAX theater and the Metro North tracks that run practically right through it.
(Sadly, they eventually will run right through it, possibly as early as late this year or early next year, when the state says "eff you" to all of us, "we're replacing this bridge and the theater has to go".)

Tuesday morning greetings! Because we packed so much into yesterday, today can be a little calmer. I have a few minor errands to run and some housekeeping things to do, but no heavy lifting - physical or emotional.

UPDATE:
Currently juggling audio productions of 3 of my one-person plays, as well as my novel, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE.
Fred Frees is doing a fantastic job with JACKIE. He's finished about 3/4 of the chapters and I'm LOL with every new chapter he sends me for approval. At the rate he's going, this one should be finished and for sale by the first of next month.
The actress doing (Carole) LOMBARD and the actor playing (Spencer) TRACY have each sent me a terrific first 15 minutes of their respective plays. My notes for each were minor.
Still awaiting the first 15 minutes for (Basil) RATHBONE (The actor resides in the UK.) and I'm still hoping to make a deal with a particular actor re: (Clark) GABLE.
Stay tuned....

Good morning, all.

I've been blessed to have been able to meet several of my favorite performers, including
Ella Fitzgerald
Lena Horne
Bobby Short
Harold Nicholas of the Nicholas Brothers
-
Has anyone here seen Maudie, the movie about artist Maud Lewis? It's $2 night at the nearby movies and I may go see that.
-
The other interesting option is The Women's Balcony, an Israeli comedy.
-
The movie I really want to see, Hero with Sam Elliott, is only playing at 4 pm, while I'm still heavy at work.
-
I was blessed to meet Leontyne Price backstage at the Ravinia Festival where she had just sung the final scene of Salome. Double points awarded for finally realizing that the gentleman standing next to me, also there to greet her, was William Warfield.
(It was conductor night, too, with James Levine who I knew, and Seiji Ozawa who was at the concert and came back to say hello.)
-
Last night's pleasure -- the IMAX at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT. It's a "museum" IMAX, so the bulk of what they show are the nature and science documentaries and travelogues and such, but in recent years this one began bringing in a few of the IMAX feature films as well.

I never think about skin color when it comes to liking a performer or not I wasn't brought up that way.
When I was about 5 my father showed me Lena Horne on TV and fell in love with this amazing performer. A few years later we were in Cape Cod somewhere and I mentioned her and an adult (who I didn't know) said "Oh that colored singer" and I asked what color is she? I never heard that term before. And that when I learned about people's fascination with different skin colors.

Keith's phone has an app to take videos and post them directly to Facebook. The video is no longer on his phone and appeared briefly on fb. I only saw it when I opened a comment from a friend regarding the video. Now both the video and comment are gone, very odd.
-
Does anyone know how to find all your videos on fb?

We just had to pay a $5 toll :o

We got a rejection email for [your show] from one of the first places we sent it, but it's got to be one of the nicest rejection letters I can recall ever getting. This is one of the first rejection letters Marian (my collaborator) has gotten as a writer. I hope she doesn't think all rejection letters are this nice.
Thank you for submitting [your show] to the New Works Program at the [name blocked out] Theatre.
We have enjoyed reviewing your materials for [your show] and are quite taken with the style of your writing. It is great to see this story adapted with heart into a musical. While the premise of this piece is fascinating as a lively journey with a great message, we have filled our development slots at this time.

I'm up, I'm up - about five and a half hours of sleep.

Very nice, DR FJL! How many places have been sent the show?

Fed Ex has come and gone, I've put my mail on hold during my trip, I've got my flight confirmation, I've sent the overture files to Ohio, and I've sent Joshie a thank you gift. I'm exhausted!

Thanks, Larry! I've been sending it in as New Works programs and contests have been showing up on nycp.blogspot and Playbill, and I've lost count of how many synopses we've sent out. This is the third response we've gotten to the script and score. The other two were just bland cookie-cutter thanks-but-not-for-us type of form letters.
-
Or more accurately, form emails.

It's good stuff, FJL. It will find a home.

Elmore, what was Josh's response to the music?

The Orange Baboon Trump is giving a press conference at the moment, defending the nazi white trash who support him and knocking the people who opposed them. It's all I can do not to throw the TV out the window. What a complete ass.

That's what I was wondering when we got it, and George, maybe you'd know since you work at a theatre which probably gets scripts. Are they being polite for some reason I don't know, or are they saying they actually liked the aspects they mentioned, but it's not right for their audience or something like that.
-
Driving the last couple of hours, and the most beautiful stretch, to Ashland . It is a beauday.
-
And now I am on a Duke Ellington kick. I can't even remember what got me onto the Duke last night - isn't that funny? But I didn't even get into bed until three because I'd pulled out all the Ellington CDs off the shelf and began getting them into iTunes. Oh, yeah, I remember now - there was an Ellington suite from The River on one of the William Grant Still CDs. I loved it and immediately pulled out all the Columbia and RCA CDs I got years ago and probably didn't even listen to or at least pay attention to. They're incredible - the sound on these, even the one mono Columbia is astonishing, especially the stereo stuff, though. I had his cover of the B'way show All American, Such Sweet Thunder, The Popular Duke Ellington, Liberian Suite (the mono album), Midnight in Paris, Four Ellington Suites, and the soundtracks to Anatomy of a Murder and Paris Blues. Fantastic music - this guy was a genius.

Such a lovely day here weatherwise......
-
No eating or drinking for me after midnight, so I am deciding what I want that will last me for quite awhile.....
-
My PERF check was $301.69 and my MasterCard bill was $302.38....so I am in the hole by $.69 this month.

I would hope that people aren't just being polite, but it really might not be the kind of show that their theater group does. We've gotten things that are completely wrong for TAO, but we do explain (as far as I know) that it's not "our" kind of show.

I can get down with that post! :)

The rim for our They have the matching tire but not the matching rim. We were hoping to pick up our car tomorrow, or at the latest Thursday morning before heading home.

Well, I must be off. Theater Artists Olympia is having our monthly board meeting.
Be back later...and I will be back!

Robert and Alby will be here in about thirty minutes. A small package that's out for delivery since eight this morning hasn't been delivered yet and if it isn't in the next ten minutes then I can't get it until tomorrow - since that wasn't the deal I will call Amazon and ask for a complete refund.
-
Bk won't don't you have these packages delivered to your home?
-
FJL it sounded to me as if they liked it but they already filled their available slots..do you know how many shows they were planning on accepting?

Good evening all! Vibes of love and comfort to all who need them. Vibes of love and comfort even if you do not need them.
Not much to say on my end. Still job searching. Getting antsy about finding something. I don't want to go to work for Walmart but if something doesn't turn up soon i will have to seriously consider it or a grocery store. Sigh.
I need DR Elmore to give me a colorful saying that fits the situation and my former employer. I have several in mind but fear if I said them it would somehow get back to them. It would be easier to just whole heartedly agree with what ever you feel appropriate. ;) :)

Maudie was a fine film. Sally Hawkins' performance is exceptional. Watch the credits. You get to see Maud Lewis' art.

Bk won't don't you have these packages delivered to your home?
Because if they're left on the doorstep and he's not home, people might steal them.
I get all mail and packages at a UPS Store. If I'm out of town, they hold stuff for me.
Also, it's not always wise for a person with a public life, no matter the size of that public life, to let their home address be known.

Page four? Really?
-
REALLY?
-
Let's just stop this page four malarky right now.
-
Had a very good run of Robert's show - had about nine folks here and they all seemed to really enjoy the show - lots o' laughs (I've put a LOT of comedy in) and the structure and song choices got great reaction. After everyone left, I gave nitpicky notes - many of them - fixed a few buttons that weren't working for me and smoothed out a few things - we should be all set for our Friday debut.
-
Page five? Really?
-
Morning will be here too soon. I need to try and sleep.
'night
-
Good evening.
-
It hasn't been a very good day around here.
-
Nicky isn't feeling well.
-
He skipped breakfast and slept until almost noon.
-
When I went back in to check on him, he did get up and used the litter box.
-
I got rid of the morning food (his renal food) and I gave him a can of regular food. He ate all of that, and then slept most of the afternoon.
-
I picked him up and brought him up into the recliner with me. He slept with me for a couple of hours.
-
He has been sleeping most of the evening. He has been drinking lots of water.
-
I gave him some more regular food this evening, and he did eat some of it.
-
I'll just have to see how he does tonight, but I will probably need to take him to the vet in the morning.
-
I really dread that. He absolutely hates going to the vet, no matter how sick he feels.
-
I'll just pray he is better in the morning.
-
~~~Stay Well Vibes for Nicky!!~~~
-
I recorded tonight's first live episode of "America's Got Talent" while I watched last week's episode.
-
I had too many episodes on my DVR to ketchup on, so I deleted all the back episodes and will just start from tonight's and go from here. If they got cut by now, I won't miss them.
