Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Hef, and it is now time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently rereading their copies of Playcows.
-
And the word of the day is: PANGRAM.
-
First post after BK!
-
Second post after BK!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to DR John G.!! :D
-
Well, I hate to do it (no, I really do), but I need to go to sleep now. I want to get to work early, so that I can leave early because I'm going to a friend's house for dinner. The daughter of another friend is also going to be at the dinner and I haven't seen either of them in several years, so it'll be fun visiting and chatting and ketchuping on things!
-
Good night, and have a good day, all!
-
I started reading Playboy in the late Sixties. Having grown up thinking the magazine was practically pornographic, I was shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, by the high quality of the magazine. I came to admire Mr. Hefner for all he did, both financially and otherwise, for causes in this country. He was one of the first to support the gay rights movement.
-
64%, so we did go up 4%. Now we must hit 70% today.
-
Puuuuuuuush.
-
Happy Birthday to John G.!
-
Good night!
-
Just found another Harvey Schmidt doodle thing - this one absolutely incredible - first a long note from him about the doodling, then on a separate page four post-its with his doodles of a woman's foot with high heels - it's fantastic. May up the price on that one. And also found, and have no idea why or when I would have gotten it, a first day cover celebrating ASCAP's fiftieth anniversary, stamped October 15, 1964 and signed in pen by Leonard Bernstein. I think I'll put that up, too - not sure what to charge - I found one other on a website priced at 1,100. I'll do less, just don't know how much less.
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is not a good day. I discovered this morning that I ordered from Staples the wrong storage boxes yesterday so a lot of thing I planned on boxing up for removal must be postponed until the correct cartons arrive. This, alas, cannot be accomplished until one of the following things occurs:
1. the Loesser work actually begins
2. I win the lottery
3. I borrow some money from friends to tide me over4 until the Loesser contract comes through.
I counted my chickens early: I thought as soon as I was told the job was approved that we'd be signing an agreement and getting a first payment several weeks ago.
-
As I said, not a good morning.
-
So, I will not be getting a cat this weekend.
-
Happy happy birthday to dear John G!!!
-
I will finish up what work I can today. Hopefully, I'll clean out the space, vacuum, and then move the filing cabinet and what I'm keeping into it.

Vibes of comfort to vixmom and your co-workers!

Happy Birthday to John G

As a young kid in the 60's & 70's a friend's father used to have them and we'd look through them.
But I like to read the interviews and there were some short stories that were also very good. I liked the joke page and there was a comic strip called Little Annie Fanny
-

T.O.D.
Sad to read of the passing of Hugh Hefner.
But, what a life....
I was fortunate to visit the Playboy Mansion once.
-
The area is cleaned and vacuumed and the file cabinet moved into its new location. I need an hour break before I continue.
-
Happy Birthday to DR JOHNG!
-
Cooler weather prevails here.....finally.
-
Thursday morning greetings! Richard and I are going to a noon gathering at the library where my career started. We're going to learn about Google Tools.
-
Happy Birthday - and happy vacation - to DR John G!
-
I always thought Mr Hugh Hefner was a very smart man who set trends when he wanted to and followed trends when he needed to.
He always knew and introduced the world to interesting people and ideas.
-
BK, enjoyed immensely your Hef memories.
-
So, I will not be getting a cat this weekend.
I am sorry.
-
Vibes of comfort to vixmom and your co-workers!
DITTO!

So, I will not be getting a cat this weekend.
I am sorry.
Me, too. I would like to know, as my life span shortens, that I will not dwindle into an old age living hand to mouth and dependent on others' whims about payments and real estate. God damn!
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Page two? Really?

Happiest of birthdays to you John G

Age three? Really?

I gotta tell you.

Two tuna sandwiches again.

Picked up one package that directly relates to what I really hope will be an upcoming Kritzerland project - the dream project. It's a very complicated release to ponder and here's why - someone licensed this thing way back in 1987 and put it on CD. They've since repackaged it and continue to sell it, even though their license would have run out decades ago (par for the course for this label). But the fact is the CD is mastered terribly - low level, muffled, very odd. I've sent some tracks to my mastering guy to see what can be done. The company that NOW owns the label where this first appeared on LP is ready, willing, and able to license to me very reasonably. And they do have the original tapes, but they're deep in storage and would cost dough to have them go dig them out. Depending on what my mastering guy feels, that may be something we want to do, actually. In the end, given that this has been available for thirty years, how many are we going to sell? I'd do 500 but it's a two-CD set - but if we could trumpet 100% better sound, do a nicer packaging (both previous CDs have hideously ugly amateurish packaging), well, the bottom line is it's personal for me, important to me, and I guess if the deal is VERY reasonable, I'm just gonna do it.
-
Happy Birthday to DR JohnG! Hope you had a great day!
-
Age three? Really?
Typo, or homage to a page turn from a few weeks back?
-
I think you should do it MR BK!
-
Got a haircut this morning. Cost me $10. Looks pretty good. I had been paying $50 in Oakland.
-
My mom is preparing us a "breakfast for supper" meal. She decided she wanted some eggs, bacon and grits. I suggested we eat roast beef sammiches, but she wanted breakfast. So...

That's great...as long as you like the results!

I watched the live action "Beauty and the Beast" on Netflix this afternoon. It was very good.
-
I think you should do it MR BK!
I agree! Especially if you feel this strongly about the music. :)
-
Lazy day with sporadic bursts of energy in disposing of boxes and packing materials.

I, too, agree and am dying of curiousity.
-
I wonder if Ron Pulliam has seen the Indiegogo campaign's film music items, although he's already missed out on all the signed Elmer Bernstein music.
-
Enjoy the beach DR John,
I did, Jane, followed by a trip to a Goodwill bookstore, which was fun.
It sounds like a good way to spend your birthday. Enjoy your evening.

Cooler weather is coming here too (well, low 70's), but then it's going back to the 80's at the end of next week.

Hello, everyone.

I am finally sitting down to dinner after a hot bath. Then I am going to bed. I have to do laundry first thing tomorrow morning and that will take up the first part of my day.
-
Good evening.
-
Happy Birthday, John G.!

I am very happy with the way the apartment is looking. I'll be happier when I can get the crap that's going out of the apartment out of the apartment. DR ChasSmith would not recognize the place.

The beautiful Anne Jeffreys, whom I loved in TOPPER, has died. It was knowing her from that that prompted my watching the Max Liebman broadcast of DEAREST ENEMY, which has played a big part in my career. I was lucky to have seen her with Alfred Drake in KISMET.

I'd read about that, too. I have a 2-VHS set of episodes of "Topper," and they include the episode(s) (co-)written by Stephen Sondheim!
-
And now, I'm leaving work and going to dinner at a friend's house. I haven't seen Chip and his wife Pennie in several years! And Melodie, the daughter of another mututal friend Cindy, will be there, too. She's a professional theater actress/singer and is in town visiting old friends. I haven't seen her in many years!
Be back later!
-
I have fallen in love with little Petunia, a rescued kitten and runt of the litter in Bed Stuy. For a while there was concern that she would not live since there were too many kittens and the mother was letting the others leave Petunia in the dust. So they got her a foster mother cat, who was part of the same rescued group.
-
Well, Petunia now has a foster family and she seems much happuer.
-
Smiling Cat!
-
DR JANE that is our forecast as well.
-
I wonder what DR RLP will do with the $40 he saved? Perhaps he can donate it to a random INDIEGOGO campaign.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE!
They keep saying we will get a larger than usual COL adjustment for our Social Security next year! But I doubt it will be even a fraction of the amount DR RLP saved....probably not even as much as he SPENT....on his haircut.

There's a butterfly on my sock.

I have that DVD of Dearest Enemy. She's a delight.
-
Really great second rehearsal, I must say. What a fun show this will be, I think.
-
Not much Indiegogo action - two contributions have taken us over 8100 bucks but we're still at 65%. The next contribution will take us over that, but I'm not gonna push for another couple of days. Tomorrow I may put up the signed Leonard Bernstein thing and the last of the Harvey Schmidt doodles.
-
I thought you gave your weather report DR JANE.....
-
Had some popcorn but am still hungry. Suppose I could make more popcorn but... it's pretty low-cal and I only had the two tuna things but... but...
-
Aww, little Petunia.
-
Aww, little Petunia.
She is a heartbreaker.

I'm ready for bed.

The birthday is over. Let the new year begin.

But first ...

Hoo boy -- tonight's "Pay What You Want Night" show sure was a Thursday brush-up.
They even got a wardrobe malfunction!
Onward and upward...

Good evening!

My iPad is really slow this evening.

Had more popcorn - kind of gross but I ate it all up.

But it seems to be warming up.

Today was a beautiful day.

I think they said we had a high of 86 degrees.
-
Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to drop by over 20 degrees.

The RAIN is returning!
-
Well, it is almost October.
-
I thought you gave your weather report DR JANE.....
Maybe yesterday but I can'l remember ;D
It was warm and beautiful here today. It is probably my last day of the year to wear shorts. I hope not.
