Well, you've read the notes, the notes were signed, scanned, and delivered, and now it is time for you to post until the signed, scanned, and delivered cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ZEUGMA!
-
First post after BK!
-
The LEVI campaign is at 80%!
-
;)
-
And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
80% baby - that's what I'M talkin' about. We're only $2500 away now.
-
I was on the phone for 3 hours last night, trying to solve an issue with Norton Security.
This was the 3rd or 4th issue like this since I installed it 2+ months ago.
I'm seriously thinking of dropping Norton in favor of Malwarebytes.
-
T.O.D.
I haven't read Stephen King for decades, though I am watching the MR. MERCEDES limited TV series that is currently airing.
I like stories with happy endings, and in all of King's stories, as I recall, some character you really care about gets killed. MR. MERCEDES is no exception.
-
Good Morning to all
-
TOD
I liked Carrie the film (original) but did not like the book.
I liked The Shining the book, but did not care for the film or tv versions of it.
The Dead Zone both the film and the book.
Night Shift a collection of some spooky short stories, the movie version not so much.
The Shawshank Redemption
The Golden Years TV series
The Langoliers
Rose Red
As Druxy mentioned about characters in his stories, I liked The Mist (film) but despised the ending of the story. The Langoliers another character's demise I did not like.
Other films I liked
Misery
The Green Mile
Firestarter
I attempted The Stand a few times but cold not get throug it.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I've been up for an hour, but I had a mess to take care of: a really horrible litter box mess of Miss Annabelle's that she created early this morning and then dragged into bed where she calmly groomed herself while I freaked out.
I need to purchase more cleaning supplies today.
-
DR JRand67, ANNABELLE TAKES OVER will apparently become more than a chapter.
-
I will very shortly take care of these scans for BK. More coffee first.
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR JRand67, ANNABELLE TAKES OVER will apparently become more than a chapter.
I'm waiting to binge on the whole Showtime miniseries.

DR JRand67, ANNABELLE TAKES OVER will apparently become more than a chapter.
I'm waiting to binge on the whole Showtime miniseries.
So far this morning:
1. She created a litter box nightmare; that cleanup was ugly.
2. She's trying to analyze the vacuum, this noisy thing that is aiding my cleanup.
3. She climbed up to the top of the bookcases behind my desk, created a scene about getting down; then, when I got to the top of the step ladder for her rescue, she made a huge leap onto my bed and left me standing there, thinking WTF?
-
She has this little prancey step - rather like a lady gymnast - in which she hops into the air to head butt my hand. It's really cute.
-
Still, given the choice of walking a dog in cold weather, waiting to pick up his poop in a baggie, I'll go with Annabelle.
-
It's great that she doesn't run in terror from the vacuum cleaner, because for most cats it is The Monster.
-
Tonight I'm attending a staged reading of The Haunting of Hill House, the play version by F. Andrew Leslie. Anyone ever seen this produced on stage? I remember kind of skimming through a copy of it some years ago and not being too impressed. But I was probably just looking for obvious similarities to the movie, which is silly. Good or bad, it will most definitely be interesting. Plus: there's the free cheese and wine, such a deal.
-
Never seen it DR CHAS SMITH. Look forward to the review.
DR ELMORE - the Annabelle Saga is giving me my PET FIX right now...THANKS.
-
DR JOHN G I am going to check my DVD's of the said Elvis movies to see if they have isolated music tracks...my guess is that they do. Thanks for reminding me.
-
MR BK sounds like he has a LOT to do today! I am very pleased about the new project and look forward to similar ones!
I am checking my finances to see if I can go for another LEVI perk.
-
Pump comes off today! Then 2/3rds done with the chemo infusion.
LOL DR JANE....there is one new television reporter, a beautiful girl with long blonde hair who has been reporting the "Noble Prize" story for a couple of days now.....someone in production is in on it because they always put up graphics with misspelled words behind her.... But she's TRYING!
-
TOD:
Carrie
The Shining
The Green Mile
The scariest: PET SEMATARY.....OMG!
-
I really dislike the current JEOPARDY Champion...he has won a LOT of money....he usually gets the Daily DOUBLES and hits big! But his actions are so annoying. And last night they used his "telephone" mime as the ending bumper instead of the showing Alex talking to the three contestants..... It's time for AUSTIN to GO!

Excellent!
-
Jrand - I found his saying that he attributes his Jeopardy success to genetic intelligence but not at all to schooling more than a little annoying.

When I worked at The Drama Book Shop in the early 1980s, a theatre secretary phone in an order of 30 copies of "The Merchant of Venus."
-
!! 2 !!
-
Page 2?
-
No, beyond the page turn.
-
I also found it surprising that the Jeopardy champion didn't know OUR TOWN. But that could be a generational thing.
-
My favorite Stephen King novels:
'Salem's Lot
The Shining
The Dead Zone
Pet Cemetary
the short stories
Films:
Carrie, better than the book
Christine
Stand By Me
The Sawshank Redemption
Mercy
The Mist

Perhaps she was looking for the Michael York - Troy Donahue film MERCHANTS OF VENUS.
I think this imdb entry should work.

LOL, DR FJL! I doubt. I suspect it's an unknown bit of Shakespeare sci fi.
-
Miss Annabelle is out of her lethargy of the past several days. This morning she's frisky, curious, into everything, and playing a bit with her toys. I need a break.
Thanks to Anthony Morelli, I've found her theme song:

It's great that she doesn't run in terror from the vacuum cleaner, because for most cats it is The Monster.
I was surprised about that one, everything else on the list is typical.

I wonder if the reporter is misspelling Nobel or mispronounced it. Funny, if I had been on my tablet, as I am now, auto correct would have done it for me as I typed. On the other hand I had to correct the auto change from been to bean back to been 😁
-
I am home from Staples and the bank. I need my Advil!
-
Annabelle has discovered the window, although the blind does not make it easy for her to check out the street.
-
Can you pull the blinds up for her? Be sure she can't get tangled in the pull cord for the blinds. The cords can wrap around a cat's neck.
-

The blinds will not go up and she will not get tangled in the pull cord/
-
I'm up, I'm up - only about six hours of sleep but after the telephonic call I'm supposed to have at ten, I may go back to sleep.
-
DR FJL you have also mentioned a couple of other things about Austin that annoy me....
And the fact that he didn't know OUR TOWN and neither did the LIBRARIAN was astonishing to me.....it's practically the first thing the stage manager says!
Loving Annabelle's theme song!!!
-
DR JANE not sure if it's typed wrong on her prompter or not, that IS possible since the same person may be doing the graphics....and I do like that she says it with CONFIDENCE .... as Maria Rainer Von Trapp would say.
-
I want to see a version of THE MERCHANT OF VENUS with the Kardashians and Jenners......
-
Pump comes off today! Then 2/3rds done with the chemo infusion.
Very good news, Jrand!

HERE (http://my.xfinity.com/video/viral-jeopardy-winner-describes-his-success/1063200323818/Comcast/TopVideos?cid=sf_vidtray_jeopardy) is an interview with him on Good Morning America. He's gotten a haircut.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
I saw Austin’s first five wins on Jeopardy. I enjoyed him but I can see him getting old from overexposure.
-
Good morning.

13,000 steps on this morning's hike up the mountain.

13,000 steps on this morning's hike up the mountain.
It felt like it too that many just to get from my parking space to my desk. Leg not happy today.
-
I want to see a version of THE MERCHANT OF VENUS with the Kardashians and Jenners......
The quality of muslin is not stained ...
-
Elmore, I’m glad Annabelle is training you to realize who’s the master.
-
Three!
-
Surprised to see Ishiguro win the Nobel. I liked Remains of the Day, but the others of his that I’ve read have lefts me cold.
-
Can you pull the blinds up for her? Be sure she can't get tangled in the pull cord for the blinds. The cords can wrap around a cat's neck.
The blinds will not go up and she will not get tangled in the pull cord/
Good about the cord. Over the years we have had to figure out all sorts of ways to make them safe.

Excellent. I did a fast 9,000+ walk this morning, however, my walk is all flat. Yours was better exercise.

Surprised to see Ishiguro win the Nobel. I liked Remains of the Day, but the others of his that I’ve read have lefts me cold.
I am glad it isn't just me. I liked "When We Were Orphans" very much and disliked "Never Let Me Go". I didn't read "Remains of the Day" since I saw the movie. I had "The Buried Giant" on my reading wish list and removed it after your comments.

I am pleased to announce that the audio edition of TRACY is now available on Amazon and audible.com, and, within a day or two,
Chris Hendrie is terrific as Spencer Tracy in my one-person stage play, which I've adapted to audio with music and sound effects.

Congrats, Druxy!
-
Congratulations DR Druxy!
-
Thursday evening greetings! We have now completed our solemn mission here in Michigan. Things went very smoothly at the cemetery this morning and by 2pm Rob was on his way back to Ohio. My sister, her husband, and their daughter (here from Illinois) are back home about an hour north of here. Richard and I will join them there tomorrow for the rest of the weekend.
-
LOL DR JOHN G.
I couldn't watch the interview DR GEORGE....I'm convinced his hair on JEOPARDY is a wig from Party City. I thought he was in the witness protection program....
-
Continued travel and resting vibes for DR GINNY....you deserve it!
-
Has anybody ever walked their cat on a leash? There is somebody that does this on my street. It is so odd to see.

I've only seen that on videos, not in real life.
-
And speaking of cats, here are a couple of pictures of Neve that my niece just took. First:
-
And second:
-
DR JENNIFER I have never seen a cat on a leash!
DR GEORGE that Neve is a beauty....she looks like she's doing yoga or ballet warm up.

Thanks, DR JRand! Richard is next door at the convenience store looking for a snack (we had a big, late lunch). I requested wine and chocolate...

I have tried but was unsuccessful. I have had cats that walked with me off leash, something I would not do today. If I ever have a cat I will attempt the leash training in a different way.

You deserve wine and chocolate after today.

Nice cat photos from both DR George & DR elmore.

Neve looks like she has a bit of attitude ;) When will you be taking her?
-
Aww, Neve and Annabelle!

Neve looks like she has a bit of attitude ;) When will you be taking her?
Possibly this weekend. It depends if I can get MY house decluttered enough, so we'll see.
-
And now, I must be off. I'm going to my parents' for dinner because my mom had me buy a paper shredder for her (she paid me back) and I'm delivering it.
Be back later.

Got both! Paired with the rest of my grilled chicken gyro from lunch, it was a perfect supper.

It was short, but very sweet. Rob (grandson) and Laura (granddaughter) took turns carrying Gram's ashes and Fr. Richard read the committal from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer at the niche. Just right.

As long as she doesn't eat paper all is good. I never had to write "the dog ate the homework" for our dogs. I did have to write "the cat ate the homework" note. At least Bryan was able to take the shredded paper in ;D

There was a little of that, too. But not too much...
-
I am glad "not too much..."
-
13 hours at work then grocery shopping , unloading the dishwasher , taking out the garbage and now soaking my tootsies in a nice hot basin with peppermint scented bath salts and eating a nice dish if vanilla ice cream
-
BK I am hoping to snag one of those books this time.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
And second:
Neve is one pretty kitty.
-
My neighbor Judy stopped by to visit with Annabelle and took these photos.
And the wonderful Annabelle.
She's not quite fully grown, is she?
-
Cute photos, Larry.
-
Vibes of comfort to DR Ginny.
-
I watched CROWNIES, the prequel to JANET KING. Since I hadn't seen either, I figured I'd start with the prequel. It's a legal drama, starring Marta Dusseldorf (A PLACE TO CALL HOME). The first episode was quite good. I'll watch more.
-
Vibes of comfort to DR Ginny.
Thank you, DR Jeanne.
-
I have no news. No lottery win, no new pets, nothing of note.
-
Jrand, do you think your next pet will be a dog or a cat?
-
Or something else, of course.
-
Good night.
-
Nice kitty pix (and Elmore, too)!
-
PBS.org removed Poldark episodes 2 and 3 from the website before I had a chance to watch them. Bummer.
-
Good evening.
Back from the reading of The Haunting of Hill House. The play leaves something to be desired, which might be why I've never come across a staging. Our Eleanor was especially excellent, and she had never met the character before a few days ago. Never read the novel, never seen the Robert Wise film. She promised she'll see it now.
-
OMG, cat pictures all around! Excellent. I shall have to contribute some now.
Tomorrow. Promise.
-
Five!
-
I have started reading John Dos Passos' USA. There's a scene where our young hero has encountered something particularly nice, which prompts him to say something that reminded me of all these feline posts today:
"It's the cat's nuts."
-
I don't really think I've heard that phrase before.
-
Listening to some Rachmaninov. I still won't have time to finish off this CD tonight. But I will at least finish the Rachmaninov.
-
Neve looks like she has a bit of attitude ;) When will you be taking her?
Possibly this weekend. It depends if I can get MY house decluttered enough, so we'll see.

It was. Fortunately it was a fur ball or pee. I suggest you get your clutter off of the floor ;)

Bosco was the cat that liked to chew on paper, something she began doing after watching the gerbils shred paper to make nests.
-
Good evening!
-
Great cat photos.
-
Neve looks like a real charmer.
-
And Annabelle is quite the flirt.
-
My friend, Diane, walks her cat on a leash. The cat loves it.

Hello, 0 Guests!
-
I have been spending less and less time on Facebook.
-
Basically, now I only go on if I get an email telling me I have a message on FB.
-
Even then, I go in and read the message, answer it, and then sign out.
-

My friend's brother passed away last Friday. She posted the news on Facebook.
-
I, of course, didn't see the post and I knew nothing about it until she called me this evening.
-
I feel horrible that I haven't been there for her.
-
Back from LACC, food, and Hamilton - more in the notes, which will be going up late, of course.
-
My friend, Diane, walks her cat on a leash. The cat loves it.
My niece said that Neve has been an indoor/outdoor cat. Ebonie was indoor only. My little back yard has been weed whacked, so I think I could let Neve out there every once in a while.

I know. I get messages if I'm tagged or it's a post that I've liked, but otherwise, I don't know what's going on.
-
Some (many??) times, it's a good thing. ;)
-
Fortunately, I haven't missed the memorial service.
-
And speaking of Stephen King, after I left my parents' house, I stopped off at the Best Buy close to their house and bought the King of Horror Collection Blu-ray 4pk (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B073LK1M8J/). Out of the four movies, I've only seen "The Shining" and "It" (the original version...but I barely remember this).

Hopefully, they actually look good on Blu-ray.

The 1979 original.

Actually, I have never seen either one, but I understand the original is better.

I don't know anything about CAT'S EYE.

I liked the book, THE SHINING, but I disliked the movie.

It's an anthology of three stories. Here's a synopsis from IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088889/reference):
Three horror-thriller tales revolve around a mysterious stray cat which is attempting to find a little girl in trouble. In "Quitters, Inc.": the cat is picked up by a shady New York "doctor" who uses experimental techniques to get people to quit smoking. His latest client is a man named Morrison, who learns he'll suffer some terrible consequences if he tries to cheat. In "The Ledge": the cat is picked up by Cressner, a shady Atlantic City millionaire who forces tennis pro Norris (his wife's lover), to walk a narrow ledge around his high-rise penthouse apartment. In "The General": the cat arrives in Wilmington, North Carolina, where it is found by Amanda, the young girl it has been sent to protect. What she needs protection from is a tiny, evil troll who lives behind the skirting board in her bedroom.

I liked the book, THE SHINING, but I disliked the movie.
I only saw the movie for the first time two years ago.
