Well, you've read the notes, the notes were Shakespearean, and now it is time for you to post until the Shakespearean cows come home - they're currently rehearsing The Taming of the Moo.
-
And the word of the day is: RAZZMATAZZ!
-
First post after BK!
-
Second post after BK!
-
First post after George!
-
From last night: Tom, I've had friends over, but not any kind of "dinner party."
-
Today, I'm ushering at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts for another installment of their silent movie series where they have live organ music accompaniment. The movie today is the quintessential silent movie for organ accompaniment, The Phantom of the Opera (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/silent-movie-series-the-phantom-of-the-opera/). I'm really looking forward to this.
-
Well, it has been a long day for me. Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
We'll, I need to go to sleep, too.
Have a good day, all.
-
George, thanks for letting me know we don't have to watch Blade Runner again prior to seeing the new movie.

Yesterday was quite a celebration for the 40th anniversary of Manhattan Plaza. They didn't do all that much publicity for it, just flyers on the elevator and under our doors a few days ago. And when it started at 2 pm, it was very easy to find seating in the various locations.
But word must have spread that it was a really good party (and maybe also that there was decent free food). When i took a breather to check on Liam and then went back to the event a little after 4, it was standing room only. Skip went over about 5:30, when they were honoring the Manhattan Plaza AIDS Assistance Program (Skip was one of the most active helpers when that project was going on, so he was one of those called up to the front of the room during that section) and it was standing room only then, too!
-
Hmm, i should have spread that over a few posts, i guess.
-
We'd have been more on the way to page 2!

Jack Earles posted a nice review of my play, THE LAST MONSTERS, on Amazon.
Thank you, Jack.

My wife, Sandy, has surgery tomorrow.
Not a major surgery, but surgery is surgery.
Good vibes appreciated.

Good morning, all.

I thought I had posted the beer cake recipe before but apparently I never did. If anyone wants a copy, PM me.

Good morning, all!

I slept late, which was very nice, and I awoke to find I need to replace two burned out light bulbs. One was easy, but the kitchen requires the Big Ladder, and I need to get my enthusiasm up for that one.
-
Byron Janis! A great pianist and one of the nastiest men I have ever met. What an ugly sonofabitch. Is he still alive? We had two occasions to meet, one on a musical he was writing, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, in the late 1980s, another with the New York State Theatre Institute's musical, Hans Brinker, around 1995.
-
DR vixmom, I think your comment about a younger cat is a good idea. I will start thinking along those lines.
-
Wednesday is my Social Security day, when I usually pay my rent, so instead I will pay a few more bills and drop everything into the post tomorrow. I'm very angry over the current check situation, since there's still been no response to my inquiry, and I'm also waiting for the first payment from Music Theatre International to begin the next Loesser score.
-
At least the outstanding bills will be covered.
-
After I make the bed, I need to get to the daily tidy up of Annabelle's litter and vacuum, change the kitchen light bulbs, then pay some bills.
-
First, more coffee.

I am so glad that you were able to see it....it was so well done I was sorely tempted to drive down again this weekend to see it again

Larry I found out my Mom fell the other day because she was balancing on a step stool to change a light bulb. (Fortunately she is ok) I ordered one of these for her

The bulbs are changed. It's a ceiling fixture with two bulbs. The worst part, besides my fear of falling nine feet off a ladder, is that there is a shade that's a bitch to put back once the bulbs are changed. Val tells me to call him, but I don't want to bother him any more than I have to. He's got over 100 apartments to cater to on the block. He works hard.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! I've had a quiet morning while the rest of the household attended church. Ready to pay some bills...
-
Good morning.
-
I betcha Val would come if it means Annabelle would love on him.
-
Church potluck today. Woo hoo!
-
I made some pumpkin mousse and mini pumpkin cakes.

My wife, Sandy, has surgery tomorrow.
Not a major surgery, but surgery is surgery.

Good surgery vibes to Sandy! I don't believe you saw my post the other day asking how her foot is.
Her foot is doing okay. This surgery is for her hand.
-
I betcha Val would come if it means Annabelle would love on him.
In a second. And she would.
-
So, the cat search begins. I want a cat that looks very different from Annabelle, and I've just fallen in love with Archie in Astoria. I can't afford at the moment to adopt him, thanks to tis check mess, but he's my model.
-
Good
morning afternoon, all.
-
And OMG is Archie a cutie!
-
I've been out running around all morning, and now I have to run out again to see a play. Dark of the Moon. I've never seen it, and today's was the only performance I could get to.

Vibes to all! Later!

I've been out running around all morning, and now I have to run out again to see a play. Dark of the Moon. I've never seen it, and today's was the only performance I could get to.
I worked on a production in 1970 and another in 1971. The playwright came to see the 1950 production. He was drunk on his ass. It's a bit of fakelore but I can see it working in a production that pushed the horror and played down the Hee-Haw aspects. We referred to it at the time as Fart of the Goon.
-
Archie is a sweetie.
-
Ushering for Giselle this afternoon.

Pain free vibes to Jane
Thanks. I am trying to use my left arm more. Keith has been doing the dishes.

Good surgery vibes to Sandy! I don't believe you saw my post the other day asking how her foot is.
Her foot is doing okay. This surgery is for her hand.
I hope the hand surgery is easier than the foot surgery was, and that both correct the issues.
-
Archie is a cutie. Having cats that look too much alike in the dark, different is a good idea :)
-
I'm up, I'm up - and have been so since nine-thirty, thanks to the unannounced arrival of the helper - only six hours of sleep, I think.

DR vixmom, I think your comment about a younger cat is a good idea. I will start thinking along those lines.
Good luck in your kitty search Larry! Neve's owner before my sister's boyfriend (also named Larry) had her, was an older woman who smokes in her house :P and who has two other younger cats. My niece would like to covertly "rescue" one of the other cats and have me take it, too. The third cat is very skittish and is probably not rescueable.

So cute!! :D
-
Well, I need to go now and usher for The Phantom of the Opera with live organ accompaniment.
Be back later.
-
I like Archie's face!
-
Ushering seems to be the activity for the afternoon.
I like Dark of the Moon - but it depends on the director....as DR ELMORE said....
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Hi, Jeanne.
-
Archie's really cute.
-
Annabelle seemed rather love-starved before she found you, Larry. She may not want to share you--at least not yet.
-
Surgery vibes for DS Sandy.
-
I am proud of you, DR George, to have a dinner party at your house. Even with clean and tidy quarters it can be challenging.
-
I slept late, which was very nice, and I awoke to find I need to replace two burned out light bulbs. One was easy, but the kitchen requires the Big Ladder, and I need to get my enthusiasm up for that one.
The bulbs in my kitchen light fixture are really difficult to change. I usually need help. Pablo helped me when he was here a couple months ago, and even had to stand on the kitchen counter to do it.
Don't designers consider such things? Maybe OXO needs to get involved. I like all the products of theirs that I've used.
-

Hi, Fred. I was so caught up in posting that I didn't see your greeting. Oops.
Glad you had such a good turn-out at your party.
-
It's like Cats around here - now and forever. What precipitated elmore's cat obsession after all these catless years?
-
Made and ate the remaining penne pasta (about six ounces) with a little butter and sautéed chicken. Filling and good and good and filling, not necessarily in that order.
-
Maybe we found our singer replacement - waiting to hear back from her.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Listening it music and trying to just relax.
-
I'm glad to see the Indiegogo campaign doing so well.
-
I have no news.
TTFN.
-
Good afternoon.
-
The pumpkin mousse was a hit. So were the mini-cakes, but I did bring several of them back home.
-
Such a cute kitten, Elmore.
-
I can't get a cat until Sandra's Rex is gone.
The outside ones are feral, so I'll never touch any of them. Star does come close, though. But then it's because I have the food.
-
It's like Cats around here - now and forever. What precipitated elmore's cat obsession after all these catless years?
Being home most of the time. When I was really busy, I could be out of town for six weeks, and that's not good for a pet.
-
I really do not know how to cook a pork chop well.
-
I've been watching CRANFORD for maybe the fourth time. It is soooo wonderful.
-
Having nothing to compare this Dark of the Moon with, I liked it very much.
The guy playing Witch Boy was incredible. This role's physical demands reminded me of those of The Elephant Man, and boy, did he have it down.
Also loved the Fair Witch and Dark Witch, and how they brought to mind the eels, characters I like in the fish out of water musical.
-
Don't you just hate it when people write all over your pristine record jackets?
(http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff302/HHWgroup/LP1_zpskswy8tdl.jpg) (http://s238.photobucket.com/user/HHWgroup/media/LP1_zpskswy8tdl.jpg.html)
Oddly enough, no one except the director and me had thought of asking him to sign anything. Which is just as well, because by the time we were doing these, he was getting tired and was ready to head back up Route 7.
-
Tom and Dan both expressed delight when I told them we had a couple of mutual friends, namely DR Elmore and BK. Each of them clearly welcomed hearing those names (the "Lost in Boston" series got an immediate shout-out from Dan), and it was a good note to go out on.

Lovely additions to the LP Cover!!!
-
Did I read in the notes that MR BK was having second thoughts about the Kritzerland shows?
-
93%! So close. Tomorrow morning I'm putting up the hyper rare Ann-Margret Bear Family box set - cheapest used copy on Amazon is just under five hundred bucks. This will be half that.
-
Jrand, I'm just bored of the difficulty in casting and it's month in and month out now. It's really tiresome and unfair to me and fellow performers.
-
Love the album cover, ChasSmith.

I understand the frustration MR BK.....you would think people would be standing in line ...

Why not make it a four times a year event, or something like that, at least for a while? (Maybe that way, you'd retain the franchise, but it wouldn't be taken for granted?)
-
I bought some fresh jujubes yesterday. Never had them. Don't really know what to do with them except eat them.

Let's get off this page.

Five!

Watching Anika Noni Rose, Judy Kuhn, Danny Burstein and Raul Esparza in a tape of The Cradle Will Rock. Lively Blitzstein, beautifully sung.
-
Well, I need to go now and usher for The Phantom of the Opera with live organ accompaniment.
Be back later.
The live organ accompaniment to the 1925 PotO was great! There were about 190 or so people there, but that's an average amount. The people who come to these love them. I've been ushering for the silent movie series for years. Highly recommended...if you ever have the chance to see Dennis James. He lives in upper NY state (he mentioned that in today's presentation) and travels around the country (if not the world) performing for silent movies. He also mentioned that he's been playing the organ for almost 50 years. I can't wait for the next one.

I just saw a trailer for the new remake of Murder on the Orient Express (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3402236/reference). It makes it look like it's going to be an action adventure thriller. :-\

That's really cool, Chas! I've purchased quite a few signatures from eBay and Amazon, but getting them from the person in person and personalized makes them much more special.

Oh, no! :(
But 96 years old...that certainly was a long run.

Page five? Really?
-
Spent most of the evening planning a new Kritzerland release. Wonderful music. Lots of cleanup to do, but if it's done as per usual this will be an amazing two-CD set.
-
Just lost a Levi actress, one of our Asian gals. Three days before rehearsals she tells me she booked a show in Orange County closer to where she lives and she took it. Non-Equity, just like us. I will never understand this kind of selfish idiocy, never. Why was she even auditioning for a show when she committed to this. And now I have three days to find someone. It's just sickening and a bad move on her part - a Sherman Brothers show, for what - some stupid ensemble crap. Good riddance.

Oh, my goodness! >:( The nerve of some people!
-
It's beyond nerve - it's shooting yourself in the foot - that's what these people never understand. It's a small town and I will never use or recommend this person for anything. I honestly think she probably doesn't know who the Sherman Brothers are.
-
I'm sorry, BK. That's just awful.

Good evening.
-
Hi, George.
-
Bruce, I'm sorry. I hope you find someone better.
-
I went to the grocery store today.
-
It was not my choice.
-
I ran out of one Nicky's cookies on Saturday evening.
-
Naturally, today that was the only kind of cookie he wanted.
-
He sat and stared at me for an hour while I was working on the computer.
-
I couldn't take it any longer, so I got dressed and headed to the store.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
One more post.

Hi Tom.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
I ran out of one Nicky's cookies on Saturday evening.
I've been trying to find treats that Neve likes. So far out of the five different kinds that I bought, she only likes two. I'll give the other three (and any other future treats that she won't like) to my parents and sister. Hopefully, their cats will like them.
-
Tomorrow is suppose to be our last nice day, before the Autumn storms arrive.

I think I will try to sleep. Good night, George.
