Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in the home stretch and got to the finish line, and now it is time for you to post until the stretching cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SCANDENT!
-
First post after BK!
-
From yesterday:
Good night, Tom. I hope you're able to sleep well and that you feel better in the morning.
-
BK, assuming that you haven't thought of this already, why don't you post your stretch goal of the cast album on the main campaign page (if you can update it)? I've seen a lot of Indiegogo and Kickstarter campaigns list what their stretch goals are and what levels will allow them to happen. I know you put that in your updates, but seeing that on the main page could entice people to contribute a little more than what they might've originally thought about, or inspire people to contribute again. Just a thought. :)
-
Well, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good idea - I'll add that in the morning.
-
Good morning to all
-
Good morning, all.

Underpants!
-
Good morning!
-
This is a chemo week so I am preparing for Day One: The Blood Draw.
-
I won't be posting today, I have found a message board closer to my house.
-
Oh no....wait.....it isn't closer....so I will continue to post here.

I sort-of like the image of stretching cows for some reason.

Whew! You'd have been sorely missed
:)
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another bad night and sleeping late. This check nonsense has really bent me out of shape.
-
DR George, Annabelle's food is working my last nerve. The Fancy Feast has been pretty much a disaster. I need to try some other brands of wet food. She was eating Rachel Ray's dry food for a bit, but she's bee ignoring that lately and seems to prefer Meow Mix Seafood.
The treats I have are my only real success and she loves the Purina Party Mix and the Greenies dental treats.
-
Since my Social Security lands on Wednesday, I can at least pay all the bills today, so that's cheery news od a sort.
-
RIP, Richard Wilbur! Best Moliere translator around, whose CANDIDE lyrics, which he revised with every new attempt to "fix" a problematic show, have the same devilish wit as the score.
-
Good morning, all.
-
A late sleep and a very slow start for the likes of me this morning.
Crazy dreams, too. THREE (3) -- at least -- on themes revisited ad infinitum and ad nauseum over the years. First one was an actual nightmare. Like I needed that.

I read his Misanthrope translation in high school. It remains a reading highlight of my life. What beautiful poetry.

His translation of TARTUFFE at the Circle in the square in the 1970's was so much fun, and many of us in my school had heard of him because of CANDIDE, so I think that's why we were so excited to see it.

Monday afternoon greetings! Slept until almost 9am, quite late for me. Of course, I had to make up for the hour I lost between 2 and 3, when I was having a nosebleed :P

Anyway, I'm showered and dressed now and ready to go to the grocery.

-
DR Elmore, finding the right diet for Kitty is harder than you'd think, as you have now found out.
There are so many different cat foods out there. If you go into a Petco or other pet store, you'll find some very good quality ones. They're also more expensive.
And you have to decide what the regimen is to be. Maybe you already have. Such as: canned food? dry food? a combination? Feedings at certain times of day? (That's supposed to be much better for them than, say, leaving dry food out day and night.)
And then they eventually get bored with one or more of the choices, which my vet used to say is why there are so many different flavors and blends on the store shelves. It's endless...
-
Back from the supermarket. I was only in there to pick up a couple of household cleaner type things. But I got home and lo and behold, someone seems to have stuffed a couple of freshly baked doughnuts from the bakery into my bag. So...
-
And here are some Nosebleed Be Gone! vibes for DR Ginny!
Thanks, DR ChasSmith! I'm just glad I woke up before things got out of hand...
-
And here are some Nosebleed Be Gone! vibes for DR Ginny!
Amen to that.
-
The feral cat out back eats anything I give him. The back door cat, who lets me pet him, also eats anything because it takes away from the feral cat’s share.
I feed them the regular Meow Mix, but the soft version.
-
Oh no....wait.....it isn't closer....so I will continue to post here.
;D That is a relief.

Before conking out last night, I watched the few YouTube excerpts I could find of productions of Dark of the Moon, and I didn't think a single one of them equaled or bettered the cast and production I saw yesterday. In comparison, the one here absolutely brought out the spookier elements, and the depiction of the Appalachian people was more subdued and, yes, more "dark". In retrospect, the mood of the local one makes me think of the more eerie pastoral elements of The Night of the Hunter. I really wish I'd been able to see it earlier in the run, and return for a second shot at it.
-
Good morning.
-
The feral kitties eat anything I put out there, although they look at my sorrowfully when it is dry food. They run a'running when I put out canned. They gobble all of it down in minutes.
-
Elmore -- inside kitties lick off the gravy on anything with shreds or chunks. Outside kitties gobble it all down gratefully.
-

The fire department, along with the manager of our complex, have tested our fire alarms. I am pleased to know they are all working. Several units in our building were tested today, the rest will be done tomorrow.
Every unit has 3-6 (?) detectors, depending on the size. With each test of a single detector every fire alarm goes off in the entire building.
They are done with the few units that requested the test today.
My hearing aids magnify the sound of the alarms into my ears. I could not take my hearing aids out today as I needed to hear the door bell when it was our turn. Tomorrow at the sound of the first alarm I am pulling them off and putting ear plugs in ;D

For some reason, I'm finding the commercial for Oprah Winfrey's brand of soup ("comfort food that loves you back") very sweet and endearing.
-
Back from a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog and small Caesar, then picking up a couple of packages. We're at 96% now and only about $400 bucks away.
-
Annabele got her first spanking this afternoon. She climbed up in the closet to lie on her pet carrier and when she came down, she brought with her the carrier and other objects on the shelf. There was broken glass, broken ceramic, styrofoam. I'm happy she was okay.
While I was cleaning up all the broken crap, she had the nerve to climb over me and use my tote luggage as a scratching post. Rgat;s when I spanked her. She's now back trying to kiss up/
-
And once again, no check! This is not making me happy.
-
98%!
-
Great news, BK!
-
Bear Family Ann-Margret perk is there, too.
-
Jrand, thanks!
-
I believe we're less than two hundred away from our goal - still 98% but closing in, closing in.
-
Ah you are most welcome. I had been looking at that particular perk from the beginning and was glad to find money in the budget to add it to my collection.
100% vibes for INDIEGOGO LEVI! :D

DR elmore maybe you can weigh down the cat carrier so it won't tip easily tip over the top of the shelf. I would suggest reassessing your place for breakable items that can be knocked off by an exploring cat.

You can LIVE! Damn it!
I am beginning the think so!

Earlier today, I received Cheryl Bentyne's newest CD (she's the soprano of The Manhattan Transfer)! It's called reArrangements of Shadows (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07662MSMB), and it's jazz arrangements of Sondheim's songs (although, the subtitle is "The Music of Stephen Sondheim"). Anyway, I'm listening to it now, and I think it's really good! However, if you're a Sondheim purist, you might not care for it. But, if you like jazz and Sondheim, I think you'll really like it...and Cheryl Bentyne is a great jazz singer! :D

LOL DR CHAS SMITH......
-
The only problem that I have with the recording is that she doesn't pronounce "portentous" correctly in "Comedy Tonight." ::) She says "portentious," combining portentous and pretentious. When I played Hero in Forum 24 years ago, our Pseudolous did the same thing. I tried to correct him, but he could never get it right.
-
All of the kitties I have been involved with as owner or watcher or relative of.....ate MOIST food....much easier to feed and clean up....the Tender Vittles in the foil packages were the favorites....many flavors.
As DR JANE wrote...some cats like to lick the gravy off the wet food and leave much of the rest.....
-
You can LIVE! Damn it!
I am beginning the think so!
I agree with Bruce and am glad you are beginning to think so.
-
But I am NOT a CAT EXPERT in any way. As with everything in my life, that does not stop me from putting in my two cents.

Congrats, BK! Now, onto the stretch goals!!

It's oddly interesting that Roy Dotrice's daughter Karen Dotrice has said that she would rather not have played Jane Banks as a kid in Mary Poppins!!!
This is an article that came up when I was googling Roy Dotrice's passing.

Congratulations, BK. Here’s hoping you get what you need for a recording.
-
And it's Disney night on Dancing With the Stars, and they're singing and dancing to "It's a Small World" as the opening number.
-
Congrats on the Indiegogo success!

She didn't say if she enjoyed the experience at the time.
My father forbid me to audition as a child actress. My mother was willing to take me. He knew an agent who wanted to sign me, and there was some other offer of work he refused. Of course as an adult I realize that offer could have been all talk.

STRRRRRRRRETCH!

DR George I thought that you were feeding the treats Neve didn't like to your family. I didn't know that they had cats too. :)

Or 102% of the show
Than 100% of any other show at all

Roy Dotrice was a wonderful man. I had a woman on my staff in Florida, Sara, who was dying from breast cancer. Her passion had been the TV version of Beauty and the Beast, and she would attend the conventions far and wide. During her visits, she became friends with several of the actors from the series including Edward Albert and Dotrice.
When word got out that Sara was in the final stages of her battle, Dotrice called her, as did several of the other actors. They also wrote and kept in touch. It meant so much to her, and we were all grateful for their empathy.
-
DR George I thought that you were feeding the treats Neve didn't like to your family. I didn't know that they had cats too. :)
Yes! My parents have a cat, Henry, and my sister and niece have four cats: Elphaba, Nessarose and Oz (named after characters in Wicked and the place), and a fourth cat. I forget her name. And Larry's former cat was Joxer, named after Joxer the Mighty from "Xena: Warrior Princess." Joxer died a couple of years ago.

I would be if Keith would watch it. He isn't big on watching musicals at home.

The Durrells Season 1 is coming to an end for me. What a great six episodes. I'm glad I took them one at a time instead of binge watching them.
-
Let's move on.

Five!
-
Page five? Really?
-
Hello, 0 guests!
-
Thinking about doing another classical CD with three amazing piano concertos, two of which I issued on Bay Cities and which sounded really good then but could sound even better now - they're gorgeous. And the third concerto is by a major theater composer and would be grand fun to make sound better, since its original CD release sounded like mud. What do you think?
-
I received a CD in the mail today! Most excellent packaging. Perhaps I shall give it a listen in the next couple of days.
-
Congrats to LEVI and the INDIEGOGO Campaign. Onward & upward!
-
By the way, it's been wonderful to see Leslie Caron in The Durrells. She's still as charming as ever.
-
Sorry DR JANE I should have gone back to check....but I was lazy!
-
That's a lovely story DR JOHN G.
-
I love Gregg Popovich. He's the Spurs coach. Obviously, I don't care two cents about basketball, but I did interview him once about wine and he was an intelligent and thoughtful man with tastes that far exceed my budget.
His comments today about the president were spot on.
-
Ogerman has arrived in San Antonio. I’ll give it a listen after Poldark.
-
We still need some reviews on the Rachmaninov and then some on the Ogerman!

I just read his comments HERE (http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2739038-gregg-popovich-donald-trump-a-soulless-coward-for-comment-on-fallen-soldiers). Good for him!

John G - what a touching memory of Roy Dotrice.
-
Well, I need to leave work and go somewhere...probably home.
Be back later.
-
Listening to Regina again - really in love with it.
-
Hi Honey, I'm home
-
Actually I was home by 9
-
But I was starving
-
Fortunately I made a lovely large meatloaf yesterday and I was able to make a nice dinner in about 15 minutes
-
Vixdad and I ate it all up
-
Tomorrow is our 30th wedding anniversary
-
Where does the time go?
-
To celebrate this momentous occasion I shall start my day with my 6 month checkup at the oncologist
-
Vixdad shall celebrate with a visit to the dentist
-
Yep, we are quite the party animals
-
Hello, everyone.
-
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Vixmom and Vixdad!

Mega chemo vibes to Jrand.
May the treatment go smoothly, as well as the rest of the week.

I think yes.
-
John G, where did you find DURRELLS season 1? I don't think it's still on the PBS website.
-
I've been revisiting BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES. It's my second time watching it and it's holding up quite well.
-
Regarding the lack of commitment to gigs, I'll add a true story from my corporate days:
We had hired a middle-aged man for a managerial position. He was a seasoned professional in technology. On the Thursday or Friday before the Monday when he was due to start work I phoned him, more as a friendly gesture than anything. He informed me that he'd accepted another position, closer to home. Stunned, I could barely ask, "Were you planning to tell us?" He said that he was, of course, but one has to wonder when that would be. An inconvenience for us, clearly, but after that conversation I was sooo glad we wouldn't be working together.
-
Good night.
-
John G, where did you find DURRELLS season 1? I don't think it's still on the PBS website.
I got it from the library. I think it's also on Amazon, if I heard my friend Hillary correctly.
-
Brokenwood Mysteries. What fun.
-
Good night, all.

Went to Gelson's and got the makings for some burgers tomorrow - had the damn craving.
-
Congrats to LEVI and the INDIEGOGO Campaign. Onward & upward!
DITTO!
-
Sorry DR JANE I should have gone back to check....but I was lazy!
I did a search which didn't work.
-
DR Jrand I think you have earned the right to be lazy.
-
The Crucible will be here this week - really early. I'm filing a Paypal dispute.
-
Have three new releases planned now. One classical, one film related, and one show.
-
DR Vixmom may your anniversary morning appointments go well.
-
And another classical in the clean-up stage, and there will be other classical releases, too, since an entire catalog is now at my disposal.
-
DR Jeanne it was a good thing you are a nice person and called the man :o
-
Good evening.
-
I used to live in Santa Rosa, years ago. It is tragic the amount of damage these fires have caused, not to mention the loss of life.
-
Tomorrow is our 30th wedding anniversary
It's after midnight on the east coast, so Happy 30th Anniversary to Vixmom and Vixdad!! :D

Yikes! :o Years ago, a woman was hired as the Interlibrary Loan supervisor and she quit only a couple of days after she started. I'd heard that she and our then-IT manager didn't get along, but I think that that was only part of why she quit.
-
The boy that lived next door to me when I was growing up, lives in Santa Rosa with his wife. His sister posted on Facebook that they were forced out of their home. They don't know yet if there house survived.
-
I binged watched the remaining episodes of STRANGER THINGS. I really enjoyed it, but I have no idea how they are going to do a second season.
-
I guess I will find out in a few weeks.
