Well, you've read the notes, the notes mushed on, and now it is time for you to post until the mushing on cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: JUBILATE!
-
First post after BK!

What is the strangest title you have seen for a stage musical (Broadway, Off-Broadway, London)?
My favorite is

Well, it's a little after 4:00 a.m., and I literally just walked into my house about 20 minutes ago after my mom and I saw Andre Rieu in concert at the Tacoma Dome (it was my birthday gift to her). My mom suggested that if I wanted, we could go to dinner afterward, and I said sure. She first suggested the Hawks Prairie Restaurant, but I found that it closed at 10:00 p.m. As we were driving home, she suggested the Red Wind Casino. They're open 24 hours and she has points to get us our food at half price. Again, I said sure. We ate at the Deli Restaurant (something like that...but it's not an actual deli). My mom had a half roast beef sandwich and clam chowder. I had a bison burger. It wasn't too bad at all.
-
After eating, she wanted to gamble (slot machines only.) So, I played $5 of my own money and lost that, then another $5, then she gave me $20. We played and she eventually ended up giving me another $40 over the course of our playing. I don't know how much she got for herself. But we ended our gambling with me cashing in $58 and she cashed in $88! So, I made out $48 ahead (she let me keep what I had won from her money, and she didn't lose everything that she had played.

Hello, Michael.
-
And now, I need to get out of these smoke-smelling clothes :P and get to bed because my sister wants to go to IKEA later in the morning, then we'll go to our parents' house for our weekly family dinner. :)
Have a good day, all!

Piggy Backing to it and going to the movies. Here are two cult titles:
I've seen one of them.
The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies
Can Hieronymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness? (with Anthony Newley and Joan Collins)

Good morning, all.
-
Trying hard to wake up.
-
John G - I'm so sorry to hear the news about your friend's health.
-
I'm also wondering about a FALSETTOS report form KevinH!
-
Waiting to hear form Jrand about how yesterday went.
-
Good morning.
-
A busy day today. But I didn't really need to start it by waking up at 4:30.
-
Vibes for the friend of DR JOHN G.
SHOW VIBES for MR BK and DR RYACKO.
-
Maybe Gina was celebrating her mother's birthday, which was October 22.....
-
Good morning, all.
-
On a VERY quiet Sunday morning.
Dark and rainy here, as it will be all day.
-
HA!
Well it was nice yesterday.....a bit chilly. There were about 35 people in attendance....but WAY TOO MANY KIDS!
As I was speaking, I noticed some hub bub, but I couldn't see exactly what was happening.....as we progressed, I realized that the rings had been left in the house.....so the daughter of the bride ran to get them. We had them in time for the exchange, but it was close....
My other brother Dane who was the best man decided he didn't want to do the toast and when it came time for that, he handed me the paper I had written for him.....I ad libbed some comments in my best BK style and got some good laughs....then followed the toast with a Crown Royal shot....after that I wasn't cold again!
I stayed until almost 5 o'clock. And of course you know I would rather tear my tongue out that criticize someone.....BUT there are a couple of kids I would have killed if I was sure I would get a jury of my peers for the subsequent trial....ONE IN PARTICULAR....
When photos are posted online, I shall share. Of course my sister pushed the wrong button on the camera and didn't get a video of the whole thing...which of course she blames on my camera....but that's life....if you want a video - HIRE SOMEONE who knows what's happening.

They are forecasting SNOW for us today.

A most excellent wedding report, DR Jrand67.
-
They are forecasting SNOW for us today.
WHAT???
-
Oh my. I see a few little dots on the radar over the Cincinnati area, too.
-
I swear, you can't get a good apple fritter anymore. I've tried one from each of two different supermarket bakeries, and there's almost no hint of apple in them. The dough and the glaze are perfectly yummy, but they're shorting us on a very important ingredient, damn their eyes.
-
But at least I'm coming out of this cold. Once I reach the point of bitching about unsatisfactory apple fritters, I know I'm on the mend.

Oh dear. I need to run some water over my face and clean my glasses. I read that as Oxycontin: The Musical!

A most excellent wedding report, DR Jrand67.
It is.
-
Good morning, all! In a major brain meltdown yesterday afternoon, I moved all the clocks back. This morning I reset them.
-
DR Jrand, you did well making it until 5:00.
I have been to weddings where the children added to the joy of the occasion, and others where it sounded like this event. I also expect your tolerance levels are lower than usual.
-
It's going to be a wet day, so I will avoid the Petco adoption event and stay in.
-
DR George, I also enjoyed reading about your fun evening.
-
Annabelle's discombobulated this morning. Her schedule is off. Because of the weather there are no birds.
-
DR JohnG, I have never read a novel by Mrs Gaskill.
-

I don't think good donuts or fritters of any kind can be had at supermarkets.

DR TCB, I, too, am not a fan of FALSETTOS, which I call AIDS FOR DUMMIES. It's all too smug, too cute, and far too simplistic. To me, "something bad is happening, something really bad is happening" is a kick in the face to the hundreds of AIDs victims I had as friends and colleagues.
I know I'm in the minority, but I prefer an AIDS piece to be angry and honest, not cutesie-poo and gemütlich.
-
Good morning, all! In a major brain meltdown yesterday afternoon, I moved all the clocks back. This morning I reset them.
This really is not all that crazy considering how many years of your life it was the week to do so.
-
I am not looking forward to the end of daylight savings and the end of my evening walks.
-
Annabelle's discombobulated this morning. Her schedule is off. Because of the weather there are no birds.
Poor Annabelle 😊
-
She's now developed the idea that she can jump into the kitchen sink and watch me work at the stove. Since I worry about her getting burned, I decided to turn on the cold faucet. I figured if she got wet, it would terrify her from jumping onto the sink again.
Well, she jumped, she ran, and took a full cup of hot coffee with her. I need to mop the floor now.
-
I have some work at my desk, so once I clean the litter box, vacuum, and mop the floor, I will attend to that. I also need to being my review of The Crucible, which I listened to yesterday, and which I'll play again this afternoon. At the moment, the Loesser work is in limbo because of my colleague Jason's commitments, so I very much need a job to provide some income for the next two months.
Please send some employment vibes. I've got to keep Annabelle in baby shoes.
-
Good morning from Amtrak's Train 153!
-
Employment vibes for DR elmore!
-
DR TCB: Regarding Falsettos, I don't remember that much about it except that I didn't really care for the characters. Maybe if I watch it on TV, I'll appreciate it more.
-
Yesterday, I met former DR Ben and DH Anthony for an early lunch at the usual place, Good Stuff Diner. I enjoyed seeing them again.
-
After lunch I headed to the theatre district and decided to see "Time and the Conways." a play written by J.B. Priestley in 1937. Elizabeth McGovern (AKA Lady Cora from Downton Abbey) starred. This time she's British and I thought her accent was very good. I really enjoyed the show and afterwards there was a "talk-back" with three members of the case (three actresses who played Elizabeth's daughters). I had gotten a rush seat for only $39. It was in the 5th row of the mezzanine and was a great seat for the money.
-
Later I saw "The Portuguese Kid," starring Jason Alexander, Sherie Rene Scott and Mary Testa. It's written by John Patrick Shanley, who wrote Moonstruck and other works. While there were some laughs, I didn't really care for it. I think Ms. Testa should have been given more to do.

DR JohnG, I have never read a novel by Mrs Gaskill.
I’ve only read Gaskell’s Cranford, which I enjoyed.

Some of the things I read without my glasses are ever so much more interesting than reality.

I got lazy and skipped my walk this morning. There is a meal after church today, and I figure I'll get my 10,000 steps during the setup cleanup portion.
I need to get myself off the couch and over there to start. I am so lazy today.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.
-
Employment vibes for DR ELMORE.
DR JANE my tolerance level for kiddies has always been very LOW.....
-
DR LAURA - two of my Monarch chrysalis NEVER hatched.....should I save them or just let them hang through the winter?
-

George, you should always gamble in the non-smoking room.

The missing fishie has turned up, so we've had two rounds of fishie or a pole. Amazon just delivered a package, so Annabelle has a new carton to play in as well.
-
Boxes are the best. Toilet paper rolls are also great.

DR JANE my tolerance level for kiddies has always been very LOW.....
Oh, then it must really be bad now ;D
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! Fr. Richard solo-ed at Dayton’s Christ the King today, so I went with him. At least there wasn’t half a tree on the ground in our backyard when we got home.
-
The boxing is going on with one less kid than planned for because she never showed up.
-
Yes, I am always pleased trees have not fallen, especially when I am walking under them.
-
DR JRand, i’m glad to hear your day went so well yesterday - and congratulations to your sister and her husband!
I agree with you about kids. One of the (several) things I dislike about the church in Dayton is that all the kids are there for the entire service and there are a LOT of them. It can be very distracting - last week it sounded like a zoo in the sanctuary.
-

Well, you’ll have to try one from Middletown’s Central Pastry next time you’re in SW Ohio. They’re Richard’s favorite!
-
Stan's Donuts in Westwood has terrific apple fritters.
-
Yeah, I need to find a good place to get fritters, but I don't think there's anything here in my town.
And I was just thinking about Stan's this morning!
-
Yeah, I need to find a good place to get fritters, but I don't think there's anything here in my town.
And I was just thinking about Stan's this morning!
You need Middletown's Milton's Donuts or Central Pastry. My brother Randy, fritter authority, prefers Milton's Donuts, but I like them both.
-
I'm working on my review of The Crucible.
-
And I was just thinking about Stan's this morning!
Not surprising. The way I see it, it is a good thing there are not good fritters in your town ;)
-
Fortunately I have not found good fritters locally.

'Cause all week long I'd be fritterin' away,,,
Fritterin' away my noontime, suppertime, choretime, too.

Today we had a big pull out all the stops celebration for Reformation Sunday. October 31 will mark 500 years since Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the church door
-
Friday night I went to the local restaurant supplier and bought 5 lbs each of cubed cheddar and pepper jack cheese, and 5lbs of sliced pepperoni, two big trays of fancy bakery cookies, a box of assorted cookies, four bottles of flavored creamers (hazelnut and French vanilla), some beautiful strawberries and green and red seedless grapes and brought them to church and stored them away
-
Yesterday, which was a lovely, mild day I picked up the sheet cake I had ordered from the grocery bakeshop
-
One layer chocolate, one layer vanilla , strawberry filling, vanilla icing
-
It was delicous. When I picked it up I was afraid it was too big but there was not a crumb left
-
Yesterday afternoon my mom and I went up to church tostartpreparing,
-
I set up 8 round tables and 8 chairs around each and two long tables for the goodies while Mom putt on the tablecloths and the centerpieces
-
Then we made 3 large platters of cheese and pepperoni with fancy frilled toothpicks and two large platters of fruit and stored everything in the fridge
-
This morning I arrived at church at 7:30 and started up the coffee pots and made punch. Arranged the crackers on a platter and organized everything else on the table.
-
Our retired Pastor and his wife who recently moved back to town after a ten year absence and who gave rejoined the congregation had offer to help and they showed so a little after 8
-
Mrs has her specialty whic h was always a big hit and she made several trays.
-
She blends 5 seasons Italian dressing mix with cream cheese and spreads that on cocktail rye then tops it with thinly sliced cucumber and a sprinkle of smoky paprika
-
It really is delicous
-
After all was setup I dashed back into the sanctuary asi was assigned as assisting minister today.
-
We had the string choir, the bell choir and the traditional adult choir all perform pre service anthems then processed in with all the aisle candies ablaze
-
It was really lovely
-
When the service was over I popped back to find exPastor and Mrs had things well in hand so I only had to replenish the coffee and enjoy myself
-
We weren't finished cleaning up and ready to go until nearly 1 but we were helped by several people who jumped in to put away chairs and tables, wash and dry and put away
-
I am quite exhausted but very pleased that it went so well
-
Vixdad and I are enjoying an nice cuppa tea and watching Dad's Army
-
It's been pouring with rain since last night
-
I am heading out in 20 minutes to meet my friend at the local Applebee's for a paint nite
-
Employment vibes for Elmore
-
Taking it easy vibes for JRand
-
Cold be gone vibes for Charles
-
Finding the fritters vibes for Chas
-
No snow vibes for Everybody
-
Feeling great vibes for TCB
-
Happy Boxing Day to BK and the LACC kids
-
Well I had better get myself ready to go
-
Laters
-
My sister in Lexington, Ky., got snow today.
It's sunny and 67 here.
-
But I may have to turn the heat on in my house.
-
DR Vixmom I am exhausted just reading about your day ;D
-
After listening to The Crucible for the last two days, I decided to watch the film version with Daniel Day Lewis. It's quite wonderful, and I see that Mr Miller in his screenplay added more facts about the property seizures behind the witchcraft.
-
....and gave away most of Thomas Putnam's lines to others.....
-
I swear, you can't get a good apple fritter anymore.
Challenge accepted.
-
DR VIXMOM it sounds as if you had a wonderful day. I loved reading about it.....being pretty inactive myself these past few months, I like to know all about others being BIZZY.
Yes DR GINNY no down trees is a good thing.
It was my brother who got married (his 4th and final!) and of course my other brother Dane the best man, who sent his second wife on her way last month, was there with his fiance.....they plan to wed within the year, he said....
I have four brothers and three sisters, and I have had 14 in-laws! Dane's first wife Patty has a sister Daneen who is married to my youngest brother David.....that marriage is solid - so I am safe there.
-
"I said I would help the director of the show I'm in move some boxes, but I don't think I'll go....I'll just say I'm studying my lines....it couldn't possibly benefit me in any way......" said the next girl to drop out of LEVI.
-
Just kidding. I don't deep fry anything.
-
National Cat Day. Love seeing the Joshie photo! Happy fishing DR ELMORE and Annabelle.
-
We had a meal after church today, too, so I was very busy. But nothing like Vixmom.
-

I hope Dane and his first wife get along and she is not the wife that was just sent on her way, apparently with a replacement waiting in the wings.
-
Yes they do DR JANE. They have two kids....both grown with families of their own......
-
We did not have a special meal for Reformation today. Just a nice service.
We are doing a special meal on Nov. 12, however.
-
This Bollywood flick, Bahabuli 2, has scenes of violence right out of any CGI flick, but the hero cannot kiss his own wife on camera. Really sad.
-
Someone posted a copy of the McGuire Sisters Sing Subways Are for Sleeping online. Hope to be able to listen to that later.

That's good, very good.

Where did this weekend go?
-
I know.
-
Glad to hear Jrand's wedding report.
-
It's been raining for about 24 hours now
-
As far as I am concern, enough is enough
-
My brother and SILs eldest Westie ( they have 3... Well actually they have 6 at the moment because the youngest just had 3 puppies) has been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and they are devastated
-
I understand how they feel :(
-
They have no children and they dote on these dogs (all show dogs) , I feel so badly and there is no comfort
-
We are off to watch something. Since it takes me too long to figure out how to get photos here, I apologize the sunset pictures I took tonight are only on my facebook page.
-
True, there is no comfort. They will appreciate your knowing that.

Back from the Robert Yacko evening - a small but VERY appreciative audience.
-
Good evening.
-
Page 5? Really?
-
Today was NFL day for me.
-
The most important game was the Seahawks versus the Texans.
-
It was a game for the ages!
-
And now, I need to get out of these smoke-smelling clothes :P and get to bed because my sister wants to go to IKEA later in the morning, then we'll go to our parents' house for our weekly family dinner. :)
Have a good day, all!
Well, I got up early enough and my sister and I went to IKEA. She ordered a new kitchen island for her house (she got a 15% discount!), but forgot to bring her checkbook, so I paid for it. She'll pay me back without any trouble. After IKEA, we went to our parents' house, had tilapia and scalloped potatoes for dinner, played Phase 10, then came home. Now, I'm watching "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency."
-
And that was my day. :)
-
The Seahawks finally prevailed, winning 41 to 38.

I am dreading tomorrow.
-
In the morning, I am taking Nicky to his doctor's appointment.
-
That means fighting to get him in his carrier.
-
Good vet vibes!
-
But once inside the carrier is when the real fun begins.
-
I wish Keith enjoyed baseball and we were watching the game tonight. Even better I wish we were at the game.
-
He howls, he cries, and he screams - nonstop.
-
From the apartment to the car, and for the entire ride to the doctor.
-
And he repeats the tantrum for the entire trip home.
-
It is just lucky that my hair is already gray.
-
;D
-
I emailed Craig figuring he is still up. He is listening to the game on the radio. Poor guy gets up very early in the morning.
-

I know! I've banana fritters from three, count 'em, THREE different donut shops in two different states (WA and OR), and NONE of them tasted like banana at all. What's that all about??
-
I don't think I have seen banana fritters, but then I wouldn't really want one.
-
DR George, I also enjoyed reading about your fun evening.
Thanks, Jane!
-

Larry, what do think of The Normal Heart (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1684226/)? I first heard of it from the Broadway Benefit Reading (https://www.amazon.com/dp/0671882856/) CD.

I need to get myself off the couch and over there to start. I am so lazy today.

I didn't think about that. My mom took us to her favorite machines, and they were in the smoking section. :P

I don't think I have seen banana fritters, but then I wouldn't really want one.
I love bananas, and I love apple fritters, so the idea of a banana fritter sounds like the best of both worlds, but if a banana fritter doesn't have ANY banana flavor, what's the point?
-
Well, since we're so close...
-
PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!

-
Jrand, I am glad the wedding was a success, and I am glad you survived all of the children.
-
But all those in-laws had be very confused.
-
We had the string choir, the bell choir and the traditional adult choir all perform pre service anthems then processed in with all the aisle candies ablaze
You should never set candies ablaze. Except for hot cocoa.
-
It sounds like it was a lovely celebration.
