Well, you've read the notes, the notes were dressed and rehearsed, and now it is time for you to post until the dressed and rehearsed cows come home.

Well, today's going to be a day.  A couple of weeks ago, my sister and I went to IKEA to order her an island for the area between her kitchen and living room.  It was delivered, but she didn't have me set it up, yet.  It's a good thing that we didn't open any of the boxes because she changed her mind and wants to return it.

Post by: George on November 16, 2017, 01:49:43 AM
However, no one in our family has a vehicle large enough for the one 8-foot long box (it's the back of the island and would've needed to be cut to size), but my friend Margo's Honda Odyssey is large enough, and she said that we could borrow it.  WHEW!  So, I'll leave work early today, get the Honda, go to my sister's, load up the van, then head up to Renton and return the boxes.  The only real downside is that my sister won't get the original delivery charge refunded.  But otherwise being able to return all the boxes makes it worth it to her.

I set the alarm for 6:00AM, turned off the lights at 9:00PM,  and was awake at 5:00AM, so I did get around eight hours of sleep.  I wanted to get some work on the orchestration before I had to feed the cats and prepare for my East Side 9:45 appointment.  I want to leave here around 8:30, stop at Petco for some pill pockets, then take the 96th crosstown bus.  After my appointment, I need to stop at the post office before I head home.

When I returned home, Thatch, Annabelle, and I had a 3-way game of fishie on a pole.  Annabelle jumps on top of Thatch's cage and sits in an aluminum backing pan, trying to catch the fish, and keeping an eagle eye on the baby.  After we stoped playing, Joshie called and while we were talking, I saw Thatch stretch himself up, hold the top bars of the cage with one front paw while he tried to pet Annabelle with the other.  Since he usually runs from her, I call this MAJOR PROGRESS!

So, Annabelle has this toy with balls that she really likes/  Thatch was watching her play with it, and he kept sticking his paws out of the cage to reach it.  I moved it close to the cage so he spent some time playing with it.  Annabelle walked right up to him, put her face in his, and there were no fireworks.  Then she walked away, and he kept on playing.

So, Annabelle has this toy with balls that she really likes/  Thatch was watching her play with it, and he kept syicking his paws out of the cage to reach it.  I moved it close to the cage so he spent some time playing with it.  Annabelle walked right up to him, ut her face in his, and there were no fireworks.  Then she walked away, and he kept on playing.

That's pretty cool.  I have a couple of THESE (https://www.chewy.com/fat-cat-crazy-circle-cat-toy-large/dp/53525) single track things:

She's never used them when I've been home.  I hope that she does use them. :-\

You are a wonderful brother, George

When my cousin died I felt bad because of our 4 cats we could not take her 2.  Her cat sitter finally said she would take them but first she needed my aunt to purchase supplies.  The biggest item was a large cage to put the cats in while they were introduced to her cats.  I do not know if it was successful or not though I have read this is the best way to do it.

It is a bit pricey for most people and probably why the rescue group did not initially offer a cage for you to use.

It it both wonderful and interesting to see how well this is working.  A photo would be nice.

This is great!

I spent a couple hours today trying to obtain credit card information and doing comparisons. Since I will be spending a lot of $$$ on the dental work I want to get the maximum number of rewards points on my credit card. I can't believe how horrible some phone trees are. One kept asking for the last four digits of my card. What? I haven't applied yet! Then there are the reps you cannot understand. You all know what this is like. I never did get all my questions answered, but I applied for a new card anyway. I'll be canceling an older one shortly.

Here's a new turn of events:  Thatch is now stretching up to the top of the cage to scratch on Annabelle's amazon box for her attention!  Then, he sits on his blanket, looking up at the box, waiting for her response.  She prefers to sleep.

so now that Thatch is ready to be friendly Annabelle isn't interested?   ;)

I have read cancelling a card is bad for your credit rating and that you should just keep the card and not use it.  I know it is stupid but I have seen this many times.  You might want to check it out.

Strange things on EBAY.

I did a random search for WILL THERE REALLY BE A MORNING? which is the title of the "autobiography" of Frances Farmer, actually written by her friend Jeanira Ratcliffe.....

One of the items was a copy of the script for the TV Movie of the same name from 1983.....which was credited to writer Dalene Young.  The front page of the script has Jean's name and Indianapolis address on it.

I knew she had written a version of the book as a film....and Charles Bronson was interested in it as a project for his wife Jill Ireland.  Both their names are written on the outside of the envelope as are the names of a couple of agents....

No inside pages were shown on the listing....it was $44.  I bought it, I think I will soon have a copy of Jean's OWN version of the book she wrote and put Frances' name on.....

We shall see.

We ended up doing Haru's Japanese for birthday lunch and Virgil's BBQ for birthday dinner.  Skip (of course) baked a great cake for us for his own birthday, and our company didn't want any cake, so more for us, and some left for tomorrow!  Skip also got a chocolate fruit arrangement form Edible Arrangements, which we shared, though Liam didn't get any.

Back from a mostly excellent preview - with the exception of five silly light cue mistakes it ran so smoothly - we weren't expecting more than thirty people and somehow ended up with over sixty - they were a wonderful audience - very with the show from the beginning.  A few pacing problems with both energy and cue pick-up things, so I gave those notes - I didn't really have that many.

After that, it was smooth sailing to IKEA.  We got the boxes out of the van and onto a couple of carts.  It took a while to get to one of the people who were handling returns, and then that took about 20 minutes because the woman had only been working at IKEA for five weeks.

You are a wonderful brother, George

I second that!

Thanks, Kevin and Vixmom!

Jeanne, should you actually cancel the older card?  I read an article not too long ago about credit ratings and they said that (among other factors) your credit rating is based on how much debt you have compared to how much credit you have available, and how far back your credit history goes.

If you close your older credit card account, that's a ding on your rating.  And if you lose that history, and your debt-to-credit ratio goes up, that also is a ding on your rating.  I think it's all just a racket, but you gotta gotta jump through the hoops and play by their rules. ::)

I have read cancelling a card is bad for your credit rating and that you should just keep the card and not use it.  I know it is stupid but I have seen this many times.  You might want to check it out.

What she said. ;D
