Since I am not a lover of canned pumpkin pie I made a light pie with beaten egg whites. I would alternate between a sugar cookie crust and a Graham cracker crust with raisins in the pie.

I should be sleeping as I need to be up by 7:00. Since we did the yearly maintenance on our water heater it has been leaking. Due to a mix up the guy supposedly was not told he had an appointment to fix it last week and didn't show up to do the work. He has confirmed he will be here in the morning.

Umm...nope. ::) But I did go shopping and got some new flavors of cat food that Neve did eat. She didn't gobble down the first can that I put out when I got home, but she did eat more than some of the other flavors that I've gotten, so that's a plus.

I've only seen two 2017 movies: both via Redbox.
I don't recall the name of either one of them, but the first was the dramatization of the Boston Marathon bombing and the other starred Sam Elliott as an over-the-hill actor, dealing with his past. Katharine Ross had a small role in it.
Pigging out on the HBO free weekend. Thus far, I've watched 8 episodes of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. Yesterday, we watched SPLIT with James Marsden, who was terrific, and Ben Affleck's period gangster film, LIVE BY NIGHT.
Many more being recorded.

Saturday morning greetings! We had a great dinner last night of Thanksgiving leftovers and then watched Holiday Inn, which I quite enjoyed. We’re due back at Laura’s before 11am, the start of Michigan/Ohio State here in the central time zone. I’m afraid it’s going to be a bloodbath.

Annabelle woke me at 7:30 and refused to let me go back to sleep. The cats have been fed, and Annabelle is back to the bird watching.

Joshie returns from his family today, and I will learn if I need to come i on Monday to hel him and Rob prepare orchestra parts for the Roundabout concert of Damn Yankees.

Thatch and I had around 15 minutes of play and pet time. He's wary: he's afraid of being approached, picked up, or held, yet he loves being petted. Annabelle is like a wet blanket; as soon as he shows any tendency to come out of his fear zone and explore, she steps on him, as if to say "this baby only does what Mama wants!"

Enjoy the Shakespeare Vibes for MR BK....hopefully the director doesn't have too wild a concept...... I saw HAMLET in black leather directed by the incompetent Libby Appel.....it was the last thing I saw at IRT.....the combination of her wrong headedness and the rude and surly Box Office folks did me in......

Vixmom: That's happened to me a couple of times, whereupon I learned that an iPad or iPhone can get stalled out or locked up just like anything else. To fix it, you have to force it to shut down and reboot itself which will restore its functionality and settings.
Press and hold the power button, and while that's being held, press and hold the home button ... until it shuts down and you see the apple logo indicating it's restarting. Once it's back up, should be good to go. If not, it would then be time to stop in at an Apple store to have them look at it.
Not charging is one symptom that it's crashed. Another is if it just goes dark while you're using it and it won't start back up. Same remedy applies.

This year I actually got out to a few, which ain't too shabby in comparison to a few recent years in which I saw nothing.
I could be forgetting something, but these at least stand out:
Split (M. Night) - liked this one (thank God). Plus: Betty Buckley.
Blade Runner 2049 - liked it, and I'll be happy to give the eventual Blu-ray a home alongside the original.
Dunkirk - in 70mm Imax, and well worth the drive to see it that way.

Press and hold the power button, and while that's being held, press and hold the home button ... until it shuts down and you see the apple logo indicating it's restarting. Once it's back up, should be good to go. If not, it would then be time to stop in at an Apple store to have them look at it.
Not charging is one symptom that it's crashed. Another is if it just goes dark while you're using it and it won't start back up. Same remedy applies.

The only movie I recall seeing in the theatre this year was the documentary Luther! And I fell asleep in the middle

The movie theatre has been updated and now has these beautiful comfortable recliners ...combine that with a dark quiet theatre and it's nap time for vixmom

When we were exhausted from the move here our first movie out was at the mall that had a section with the comfortable seats. Keith purchased the tickets, said yes to a question he didn't really understand, and understood as soon as we sat down. My body and especially my feet were hurting and it felt sooooo good to put my feet up and recline, too good to fall asleep.

The theater near us we go to is far less expensive. It has standard stadium seating, which is still better than what we had in Ashland, so we are happy.

The really good cat food is Wellness, which is more expensive, and Annabelle likes some of it; she turned down the chicken and turkey last night so Thatch pigged out. I had been feeding Thatch Wellness Kitten food, but he'll eat anything, I swear.
I usually alternate between several Fancy Feast flavors in gravy and the Wellness adult cat and kitten foods for their wet food and Wellness kibble and Meow Mix for their dry food. They both love the Purina Party Mix as well.

I am very proud of Thatch today. He came out of the cage, right past Annabelle, to play with some of the toys. I want him to become comfortable in the apartment so he will stop regarding the cage as a safety zone and we can take it down.

I wanted to see DUNKIRK, but didn't make it.....perhaps the DVD will be around soon.
My script arrived....and it is indeed what I thought it was.....Jean's movie version of the book. It is bad....she didn't know how to write a script....there are paragraphs and paragraphs of description and thoughts of characters.
The dialog comes directly from the book.....Page 98 is missing....right in the middle of an important event....and the script ends on page 199.....with less than half of the book covered.... I particularly wanted to read the part about Frances' life here in Indiana, but the script doesn't go that far....it would have been another 150 pages or so.
SO....interesting to have....and that's about it.

I'm up, I'm up - loud noises kind of like mechanical grinding woke me up at five - I think it may have been coming from here - first I thought it was my neighbor's to the south, then I thought it was Grant's other house. It stopped after five minutes and when I looked outside I saw that the sprinklers had recently been on, so maybe that.

I have to take Thatch to the vet next week. I think he has conjunctivitis, too.

Glad that BK found a super supermarket. There's a Ralph's very close to me, but it's nothing like BK described. I never used to go there. I was used to Trader Joe's prices and Ralph's seemed quite expensive. They do have lots of specials, though, and I've been shopping there a bit now. There's a new Ralph's near my acupuncturist, but I've never been to it. I should. It may be as BK described.

He and Annabelle have actually had several close encounters with no fighting tonight. We'll see how long that lasts.

Today I watched a youtube video about the top ten Hamilton songs. I had a hard time following the lyrics, and with the horrible sound system at the theater, there's no way I would have any clue what is going on. So there is going to be a very excited teenage girl later this year.

I was curious how the Häagen-Dazs caramel cone ice cream would taste in a regular cone with the flavor of the chocolate cone in the ice cream. I had one of my mini, 1.75 inches in height, cones. It was delicious. There was one large chunk of the chocolate cone from the ice cream that was extra delicious.

Actually, the ending is atrocious. The young dancer gets to be in the Nutcracker, and instead of the Thaikovsky music, they use some disco power ballad that's truly terrible.

We just finished watching "The Ghost in the Shell" based on a Japanese grafic novel/comic. I liked where it went but it certainly isn't for everyone and Keith liked it better than I did.

If I had realized there were crispy chocolate pieces I would have tried it sooner. I was afraid the chocolate cup would trip on my clothes as we walked home and decided to try a new flavor. Now I am hooked. Those individual cups are pricy for the size but very convenient at times.
