Well, you've read the notes, the notes were irritatingly pleasant, and now it is time for you to post until the irritatingly pleasant cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DEASIL!
-
First post after BK!

~~~Some Excellent Vibes and Xylophones for Miracles for BK~~~
-
This Christmas continues to get huge radio plays - 122,000 last week.
-
Another interesting factoid that's irritating - the Constant Contact "open" rate for Levi is the lowest open rate in ages, lower than Sharkansas - I mean, I do not get it.
Congrats to you and Sandy!
That's too bad. Hopefully, it'll catch on and the sales will pick up.
-
Well, good night, BK. I need to go to bed so that I can get up early and take my cat to the vet.
Have a good day, all!
-
DR George good luck at the vet. I have never heard of a cat's hears rattling :o
As our adventure today we did laundry. Now I am enjoying the view and reading.
-
Good Morning
-
I have showered, washed my hairs and am now reclining in my recliner sipping hazelnut coffee prior to blow drying my hair
-
I get to sleep sometime after 1:30 and was up by 6:30
-
I call that a good nights sleep
-
So my Mom is home from California and has vowed to wander no more
-
My car was fitted with my Christmas present yesterday, it now has a remote start...Just in time for the cold weather
-
NICE!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Great gift, Vixmom.
-
Good morning, all!
I slept well and warmly under many blankets. The cats slept together in Annabelle's covered bed. At the moment I am typing with one eye on the babies. I'm tying to catch Thatch unaware to give him his meds
-
Good luck to DC NEVE on her vet visit.....
-
Glad to hear that DR VIXMOM's mom made it home s/s.
-
Miracle vibes for MR BK!!
-
Going to Dollar Tree and WalMart in a bit......hopefully it won't be too crowded this morning.....
-
Tonight I am seeing Desperate Measures at the York Theatre. It's a western adaptation of Measure for Measure, a play I like, so I hope it's fun. I do like the fact that curtain is at 7:00 so I will not e out too late.
-
Good luck to DC NEVE on her vet visit.....
Yes! I hope that she is in fine fettle and that her first visit is not so financially debilitating as Thatch's and Annabelle's were.
-
Good morning to all
Good morning, all.
Texas Roadhouse tonight! Woo-hoo! :)
-
Yay, congrats to BK and Sandy on the song's continued success!
-
Texas Roadhouse tonight! Woo-hoo! :)
Have a fantastic time.
-
Larry - the truly extraordinary Lauren Molina is in that show, i think! I love her work, on stage and on YouTube!
-
Sounds like a great Christmas gift, vixmom!
-
It is now 30 degrees in Iceland. We know this because Keith's phones says that is where we are.
-
Thatch is really cautious of me today. I think it might be the crushed tablets, and I have the syringe and eye salve ready to go omce I catch him. I know from Annabelle's reaction that they taste like crap.
-
Yes. I think she's playing the role of the nun.
-
My tablet says we are in Santa Apolonia which is in Portugal.
-
In reality we are somewhere in the Indian Ocean.
-
Yay, congrats to BK and Sandy on the song's continued success!
Indeed. Congratulations, not just on the song’s success but also because it means one less time someone has to hear “Last Christmas I gave you my heart ...”
-
Texas Roadhouse tonight! Woo-hoo! :)
Ready for the saddle?
-
Annabelle's quite needy this morning, wanting lots of hugs and pets. I took the dirty litter to the garbage chute, and as soon as I opened the door, she ran out into the hall to visit each tenant's door before i picked her up and brought her back inside. The next time I do laundry, I will take her with me to the laundry room, so she can see more of the building. I also want to know for myself that, if she gets out, she can find her way back.
Did anybody watch that ENCORE show the other night where they mounted a production of INTO THE WOODS in one week?
Seemed a bit unbelievable.
-
Working on a new one-person stage play.
This one is somebody I knew.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! I have a little at-home time this morning before meeting Rebecca for my belated birthday lunch. This is my 7th day in a row of being away from home during the day and, while I've enjoyed all of it, I'm really looking forward to tomorrow when I don't have to be anywhere until evening.
"And On the 8th day, We Rested' - that's the title of my new something or other. :)
Hope you enjoy your day off tomorrow, Ginny!
-
Thanks, DR FJL! Maybe we'll get the Christmas tree up. I also have to see where I am, shopping-wise, and line up my cooking and baking schedule for the next 10 days.
-
I heard some folks talking about that ENCORE show DR DRUXY, but it must be on some streaming service, because I didn't see a listing for it.
I think it's a group of people who did the show many years ago, and they're brought back together to do it again....so that would be easier than someone with NO experience trying to do the show....
-
DR JANE that sounds like my GPS..... "You are in Iceland....no Portugal....no....hell...I don't know....just enjoy it."
It was on one of the major networks, though I don't recall which one.
Even though these people, none of whom stayed in the business, had done the play 20 years earlier, I don't see how they could have gotten it up and running within a week, particularly since most of the program showed them doing singing/dancing exercises and there was no dress rehearsal.
Hmmmm......I shall have to check my ON DEMAND and see if I can find it......
-
It's on ABC, so maybe I will check it out later!
-
AHA! I will receive a $16 per month raise in my SS check in January....that will be nice.....
I apologize for being E & T last evening. I fell asleep at about 7:30, and slept straight through until 5:30 a.m.
-
That sounds wonderful, TCB.
-
AHA! I will receive a $16 per month raise in my SS check in January....that will be nice.....
I am so jealous. I only got a $9.00 increase.
-
That's strange DR ELMORE.....maybe someone put in a good word for me.
-
ENCORE is not available on COMCAST ABC ON DEMAND - that's strange....it was on Sunday night.
Well so far, I got nothin'! Are these notices coming by e- or snail-mail?
My notice came by mail two weeks ago.
I looked on Ticketmaster to see what Hamilton tickets are about selling for. They don't have comparable seats for the day I have tickets for, but the following weekend, they are selling for about $850 -- and mine are closer and center of the ones they have.
Oh shit.
Is my face red.
This was one of those things you have to tear open sixteen different ways in order to read it? I looked it over and didn't think I saw anything that pertained directly to me. And then, um.....
-
Maybe I can log in online and find it.
-
I'm up, I'm up - have been since eleven - eight hours of sleep and just trying to catch up and finish choosing the damn songs.
-
I want latkes.
-
Since I gave to leave around 5:00, I have to tackle Thatch very shortly, administer his meds, do the same with Annabelle, and feed them.
-
On a more positive note, I finished the Overture for How To Succeed . . . this afternoon.
-
And the meds are administered. My kitties are not speaking to me.
-
I must begin my long bus trek to the East Side.
-
DR CHAS SMITH - snail mail - one side was talking about how much you could earn without a penalty, the other side had your new benefit amount.
If you multiply your current benefit by 2%, you'll probably get a pretty close estimate of your increase.
-
The delivery man brought three bottles of wine to the house today, a cab franc, a roussanne and a rose’ — red, white and pink.
-
Going to usher for someone named Tommy Emmanuel tonight, Australian guitarist. Half the show will be holiday music.
-
Speaking of holiday music, I got Reba McEntire’s Christmas album today from the library. She does a good version of Hard Candy Christmas. Makes me think she’d be a fine Miss Mona.
That was it, then. Thank you for the info, DR Jrand67!
Had some scrambled eggs and onions in a tortilla for my main meal o' the day, and that leaves me room for snacks later, including perhaps some Godiva chocolates that just arrived from FJL and his ever-lovin' Skip.
-
Onions In a Tortilla is the title of my new mystery thriller novella.
DR George good luck at the vet. I have never heard of a cat's hears rattling :o
Well, her ears shouldn't rattle! I brought her to the vet today and she was very well behaved until the vet had to get a couple of samples of the gunk in her ears. :P She has ear mites and there was pus and white blood cells and a lot of icky dark build-up in them. They cleaned them out (probably the first time since ever) and gave me some stuff to put in there twice a day for the next couple of weeks to help with the infections. They also gave her an antibiotic shot and put some Revolution (https://revolution4cats.com/) on the back of her neck for the ear mites. Fortunately, there was no evidence of any fleas! I'll reapply that in a month, then once more in another month. I scheduled a follow-up appointment on December 29. Today's bill was $312. :-\
-
As for the teeth that she has left (it looks like the others fell out on their own :( ), they'll either clean them or, after they take x-rays, they just might remove them all. I guess there's some root decay. Nothing was done about her teeth today, though. If they extract, it'll be around $1000! :o She's old, but she might be in pain from her teeth, so we'll see what they say on the 29th.
-
Good luck to DC NEVE on her vet visit.....
Thanks, Jrand!
-
Glad to hear that DR VIXMOM's mom made it home s/s.
Ditto!
Thanks, Larry! I don't remember how much Thatch's and Annabelle's first visits were, but I know Neve will have them beat with any future teeth dealings. ::)
And since we're so close...
I recorded it but haven't watched it, yet.
Maybe it's not there because it was a one-off episode. If you want, I could make a DVD and send it to you. :)
I was going to ask you all for cat-catching vibes tonight. I am trying to trap the last two feral cats -- they were kittens when I tried last July. I caught them in about twenty minutes. Tomorrow the vet.
The SAG Awards (definitely in the who gives a flying Wallenda category) has not given a nomination to Millicent Simmonds for Wonderstruck - this means only one thing - the nominators, who are chosen randomly and who mostly are out of work, talentless morons, didn't bother to watch the film - had they, she would have been nominated. They also ignored The Post completely - which means they didn't see it. But rather than be honest, they just do their stupid thing - this is right up there with the People's Choice Awards. I'm really hoping that the Academy watches Wonderstruck and gives Ms. Simmonds a nod, but then again it doesn't pander, is not Oscar bait, and is probably not spending money on top of money to buy a nomination.
Gratuitous Post #100!
And now, I'm off to my sister's for a bit. My niece and my mom made some German cookies today and my niece said that she'll have some for me! Yummy!
Be back later!
What a good cat she is just hanging out by the keyboard.
Hello!
-
I want latkes.
Sounds good!
-
Watching the Golden Globes 75th Anniversary special. It's a lot of fun.
-
I'm up late since I don't have to get up as early as I usually do. I have a dental appointment tomorrow.
Well, Desperate Measures was a hoot, a truly funny musical comedy with a good score and lyrics, dialogue in rhyming couplets, and a fine cast. Lauren Molina, to my surprise, is not playing the heroine whose virtue is in danger but the raucous whore Belle, and she's very very very funny. She has a wonderful duet in Act Two with her romantic interest "Just For You" and a duet with the nun, both dressed as brides, "It's A Beautiful Day for a Lifelong commitment." Leading man Peter Saide is a real find: tall, dark, handsome, good actor, wonderful singer, and a good sense of comedy. I kept thinking, he's a handsomer Alfred Drake.
The Act one closer, ""In the Dark," is really lovely.
The show runs through December 31, and it's really worth a trip to see it. It was nice to see my friend David Hancock Turner being musical director ad orchestrator and my friend Douglas playing the fiddle and mandolin.
DR George, Annabelle has a broken fang, and it's going to cost me around $1000 to take care of it. As soon as she and Thatch are well, I'll address that issue. She's been really clingy tonight since I got in.
-
Tommy Emmanuel was brilliant. And he played 2.5 hours altogether. The first set, only an hour or so had plenty of amazing guitar solos, Beatles songs, Classical Gas, stuff he played with Chet Atkins and his originals. Then he did a mostly Christmas set with a not-so-Hot singer and two other great guitar players. Just good stuff.
-
DR George, Neve is very lucky to now belong to you and getting proper medical care.
Thanks, Jane! When I got home tonight, Neve was laying on the couch and when she shook her head, there still was a rattling sound in her ear! I need to call the vet tomorrow and ask about that. :-\
Finished with my viewing.
I am all alone.
Well, I am alone on this site, but, actually, Nicky is curled up on me.
I watched ENCORE the other night. I enjoyed it, but I think they only did the first act of INTO THE WOODS.
-
Not anymore. :)
-
The Narrator / Old Man carried his script throughout the entire performance.
-
I tried to administer the ear ointment into Neve's ears. I wasn't too successful. I'll keep doing it until I run out of the stuff. Hopefully, it'll be enough.
-
I think the show was pretty believable.
-
Today was the old actor’s lunch.
-
We went to The Ram, on the waterfront (next to Harbor Lights).
-
We go there quite often. Good food, but terrible French Fries.
Good grief, one day they are telling you to get your flu shot, and the next day they tell you it is only 10% effective.
-
Hi, George.
-
Good grief, one day they are telling you to get your flu shot, and the next day they tell you it is only 10% effective.
I know!
-
Isn't it all just a guess as to which strains they choose to protect against, anyway?
-
If that's the case, what's really the point?
-
Hi, Tom.
-
This year i got the senior citizen flu shot. I don’t know if that suppose to be any more effective.
-
DR George, Neve is very lucky to now belong to you and getting proper medical care.
Thanks, Jane! When I got home tonight, Neve was laying on the couch and when she shook her head, there still was a rattling sound in her ear! I need to call the vet tomorrow and ask about that. :-\
:( Hopefully it will go away once the mites are gone.
Only more effective if it is the correct strain which is why we opted for the quad instead. Wo knows what strains we will encou her while traveling.
-
Jane, how are you enjoying Iceland? Or is Keith enjoying Iceland and you are enjoying Portugal?
-
Welcome to new DR Jan!
-
Jan, how did you find out about HHW?
