Today would have been my dad's 96th birthday. The pain never leaves.
In a few minutes, I am going with my sister to the hospital to sit while my brother has hernia surgery. It shouldn't be too long or too exciting.....I HOPE.
Train travel vibes for DR Jane.
I think I’ve got BK’s irritants. My front door key broke off in the lock as I was leaving for work. I can’t get in the back. The locksmith I called hasn’t called me back.
The day started off with a bang here as well.
First, we get a highly irritating inch of snow during the night, which was just plowed as well as it can be but we're hoping the bright sun will help to burn off the rest.
I also found out our ailing bassist, for whom we already wrangled a couple of subs for this weekend, is ailing a little more and a little differently than originally thought. What was diagnosed as bronchitis last week turns out to be congestive heart failure! He's in the hospital and they've got it under control, but he's out for the remainder of the run. So we're still hustling for bass players.
Next...
Wait, there isn't a NEXT yet. And I hope there won't be. That much is already irritating enough.
Annabelle wants to bird watch, Thatch wants to play, and their interaction of him trying to grab her tail and her refusing to leave the window is really funny.
We had a beautiful bird of a blue-ish gray coloring show up about 10 minutes ago. It was a nice change from all the greedy fat pigeons driving away the sparrows and other birds.

DR John did you get back into your home?
Two unhappy feral kittens dropped off at the clinic this morning. We will find out if they were male or female this afternoon. They will be eunuchs when they come back.
Queenie and Opal are at the clinic today. You can see that the others are eartipped, which is a sign that they have been neutered.

There are two former toms in the yard as well that are not pictured.
I had to take trash to the basement, so I thought I'd take Annabelle with me since she clearly has an urge to see the rest of the building. As soon as she was outside the apartment, she ran to the fourth floor so I had to take the elevator up to find her. Then, she got into the elevator and we rode to the basement. once down there, I went to the recycle bins and she started crying loudly. While I was throwing things into bins in the laundry room, I could hear her in the hallway crying.
So, I opened the elevator and instead of coming in with me, she walked into the interior of the elevator door and I panicked. I had visions of a crew coming in to take the door apart to rescue her, the doors closing and crushing her, and all I could do was stand there holding the door open and calling for her. As soon as she walked out, I scooped her up and brought her home. This is one experiment we will not repeat.
Brother is fine.....surgery was quick and great....he was eating graham crackers when we left....and he will go home later this morning.

One of the Brooklyn cat rescuers is offering Christmas kittens. I've promised several friends I will adopt no more, but I find it difficult to not want another!

I had seen this story without the happy news update.
Maybe Annabelle could get use to a harness with a leash and go for walks with you.

Vibes for DC Neve.
DR GEORGE - ABC will probably rerun ENCORE sometime this weekend, I will keep my eye out....I don't need a DVD.....I am not that curious.

I have a very sore throat. This is the first time I've been sick in many many years.

You'd think Annabelle's basement adventure would have curbed her curiosity, but no way. I took the dirty litter to the garbage chute and as soon as I opened the door to return to the apartment, she darted out and ran for the stairs. Instead of going up this time, she went down, so I ran for the elevator and rode to two. No sign of her. I rode to the first floor. No sign, but I could hear her loudly crying down the stairwell. I got back on the elevator and rode to the third floor. There she was, waiting for the elevator.
I haven't had breakfast yet between these two critters and their meds, and I'm thinking of skipping the food and going right for the booze.

I’m in my house. I have to get a new lock. Locksmith cost close to $100 for about two minutes’ work.
And net neutrality is dead. One more nail in the coffin of the Republican party. All I can hope for is that their lousy tax plan goes down in flames just as the supporters of the bill will go down in the next election.
I hope all the Trump voters are happy.

The awful Omarosa who said we would all have to bow down to Donald Trump was put down by Robin Roberts on TV this morning. The Trump whores are infuriated but I say, thank you, Robin!

DR Elmore must have the magic touch when it comes to vibes today. Not only was the search successful, I got my number one guy -- the very player I always ask first, except this time I came in after that had already been done. He wouldn't have been able to play every show up till now, but he can do every one of the remaining ones starting with Sunday's. Thank you, sir! :)
Could we all have some winning lottery numbers next, please?? :D

LOL! I'm sure no one's forgotten Omarosa's prediction that we would all bow down to Trump. Or forgiven her for it.

Locksmith vibes to John G!
Good evening!
I am watching The Slipper and the Rose on youtube. The mice are dancing out of the house to become horses.
Watching a warped, insanely funny Christmas movie called Pastorela. Elmore and anyone else looking for something different this Christmas might want to give it a try. Very adult language.
On Christmas day we shall board the Rovos, Pride of Africa train in Cape Town and begin a 2 night scenic ride to Pretoria--about a 1000 mile journey.

She's not going outside. She's an indoor cat and remaining one.
And now, I'm leaving work. HOPEFULLY, I'll be able to get the ointment into Neve's ear tonight. :-\
Kitties are home. Queenie was a boy; Opal was a girl. Now they are both its.
Back from a lovelier than lovely luncheon with dear reader Jeanne. Fish and chips and biscuit were great - owner was very sweet and yes, really talkative but fun.
Tonight I went to see SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL.
A high power cast in a high energy production. Very well done.

I have now seen the show twice, and I am still asking myself why.
Yes, glad to hear Chas' good news. Vibes for the previous bassist.
Well, DR ChasSmith, I'm glad my vines worked for you. I wish they'd clear up Thatch's conjunctivitis. O just took him into the bathroom to wash out his eyes. He lay in my arms, purred, seemed very content to let me do the wash, enjoyed the petting, my playing with his paws, stroking his head and rubbing his belly. His rail wrapped around my arm, which is a sign of affection.
Then I gave him a syringe full of bitter medicine and put salve in his eyes. He's run away in terror and Annabelle is his safe place. I hope, when thus health crisis passes, that he will not fear me. The little baby wants affection and love.
Jane, I had always heard that people marched to Pretoria
