Topic of the Day:
Dunkirk
The Great Escape
The Last Starfighter
M*A*S*H
Space Battleship Yamato [TV show, a.k.a. Star Blazers]
Star Wars [a.k.a. Episode 4: A New Hope]
Wonder Woman
Those are what I can think of...for now, anyway.
;D
We watched A CHRISTMAS STORY (LIVE) last night. The logistics of staging that production were amazing.
We enjoyed the production...with 2 exceptions:
(1) Whoever that was who did the opening number, we couldn't understand the lyrics. Don't know if that was her fault, or the fact that the music was too loud.
(2) Matthew Broderick is a terrific performer, but except for the very end, there was nothing for him to sing. What a waste of talent.
Thatch's eyes are looking good this morning. Dare I hope it's over?
Happy Birthday DR PENNYO
Annabelle's climbing again. Last night she nearly killed Thatch when she dropped 5-6 empty CD cases pnyp the chair where he was playing from the shelf she was sitting on near the ceiling. Earlier in the day she climbed to the top of the bookshelf next to my writing table and dropped a stack of books onto the floor. When I got up this morning, my two caps I sit on top of a CD case when I'm not wearing one of them were on the floor.
This climbing means she's feeling much better and getting back to her old self, so I'm really happy.

Very glad to hear they're both getting over their little ailments. But I'm frankly surprised Annabelle hadn't rearranged the whole apartment long before this.
Mark this as the week that the team behind A Christmas Story and The Greatest Showman derails.
Afterwards, had a Sausage and Egg McMuffin breakfast, and I'm finishing that coffee now. I've got to get organized and go out again to gas up the car and do a bit of shopping.

Have the reviews for their work on "Greatest Showman" been disappointing?

Had to post another one....beautiful.
Back from dermatologist -- with no issues, but I'll have a few blotches for a while due to some routine freeze-offs.
DR JANE just posted a photo of a crocodile.....it's too scary to look at!

DR Elmore has a beautiful response, in the cast recordings list, to a bizarre post that seemed intent upon trashing the original Bob Clark film of A Christmas Story as being basically worthless.
Apparently, six killed in the derailment, plus seventy-some people injured.
Need some vibes for my co-team leader~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An Amtrak train had just derailed and crashed down on the exact freeway that I was about to travel.
Need some vibes for my co-team leader
I just heard about the derailment and came here to find out if TCB and George are safe

A week to Christmas and here's a premiere: the rough mix of an Appalachian Carol from the recording of our holiday show Moonshine and Mistletoe.

What is wrong with some people! >:( It's a wonderful classic!
I've been noticing that little Thatch is modeling himself on Annabelle, and tonight, as I prepared their dinners, he was suddenly underfoot, rubbing against my legs and behaving just like her. Usually he runs from me so this is a Christmas miracle.
The only thing he can't do yet is jump up on the counter and tell me how to serve it.

I think I could teach him how to do that. Leading by example, you know.

I'd pay good money to watch you jump onto my kitchen counter.
I am so glad to see George is safe
I used to like to hear The Covered Bridge Harmony Singers - until I had to work with them a couple of times.....I still like SOME of them....but I don't bother to listen to them sing.
DR John G, I’m sorry to hear about your co-worker. Been there and it’s pretty awful...
And now, I must be off. I'm working concessions for the free Messiah sing-along. I think that concessions is only pre-show, so I won't have to be there for too long. Normally, I'd stay for the whole thing, but I need to come back to work to finish up some things...not for too long, though.
Be back later.
So glad to hear DRs TCB and George are okay!
Rebecca and I had a lovely brunch and she really liked the bag of assorted papercrafting goodies that I gave her for her birthday. We went our separate ways and met up again this evening with our husbands for a free concert by the Queen City Sisters (http://queencitysisters.com/). Apparently there are about 9 women involved, but they perform as a trio in different combinations. If you click on their videos and watch the one titled SWAY you'll see the 3 we saw tonight. It was a great show!
For anyone who's interested, I put up audio samples of six songs - VERY rough mixes that are just so people can hear what they're in store for, songs-wise. They're not even really mixed, just all the tracks open.
Vibes for John's coworker
She just texted me that it’s 95 percent likely that she had a miscarriage. I’m heartbroken for her.
Thank you, all, for your vibes and support.
I am trying very hard to get sick for Christmas.
Hey, George. An exciting day in the Northwest.
Glad I didn’t decide to leave the house early this morning.
