Happy Birthday DONALD FELTHAM!!!
I'm getting dyslexic. I thought I set the alarm for 6:30. It rang at 6:03.
NO MERDE VIBES for MR BK.
I’m now 2/3 through Little Fires Everywhere. The author is gifted, but perhaps a little too young. All of her adult characters are irritating stereotypes. She goes back to one character’s youth and only then does that person begin to come to life.

DR John G, we heard her speak on an author panel at ALA this summer and I have an advance reader copy of her book. Isn't that the one set in Cleveland?
Obviously, my last post should indicate that I have not yet read the book...

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep - would have been eight if the phone hadn't shot off its big fat mouth at nine. Today I decide if I'm going to let the landline go because you can change your number a million times and these spam callers will eventually get it. Blocking is pointless because they keep spoofing other numbers.

Today is Victor Herbert's 159th birthday.

Has anyone ever written a parody called We'd Like to Thank You, Victor Herbert?
I have my three month follow up with my nurse practitioner this morning.....his name is Michael Painter. His name is always printed Micha Painter on the computer print out....so I call him that.
Coincidentally, I was going to mention this Universal film, which DR Michael just referenced, because I just watched it two nights ago for my first time in probably 30 years: TWO-MINUTE WARNING. I'd remembered so little of it that it was almost like seeing it for the first time, and what an incredible time-travel couple of hours it provides.
It's the kind of "terrorist" thriller they made in the 1970s, and I can't get enough of them. The beauty of this one is in the actual filming locations. Not only do you get some nice ca-1976 Los Angeles, but -- and I went back over it to check this out -- it might be one of the most realistic and "honest" location films I know. In other words, when a scene takes place at the Coliseum, for instance, or at the Sunset & 405 Holiday Inn, all of the related area shots (streets, freeway off-ramps, etc.) do so as well. It's rather a marvel in this respect.
I never saw that notorious TV version, but I see it's on the recent Shout Factory Blu-ray, and that's going right into my cart.

Then they will find you on your cell phone.

My doctor's name is Brandy Thomas. On my medications, they only show the first three letters of the doctor's first name, so her name always prints out as THOMAS, BRA.
;)

Fortunately, I've RARELY gotten spam calls. And since I screen my calls and don't answer if I don't recognize the number, they don't leave messages, so I don't have to deal with that, either.
Fond remembrances of our DR Kerry, who I'm so sorry I never had the chance to meet.

I usually screen my calls, not answering numbers I don’t recognize. Last Friday, a call (that I didn’t answer) showed up that made me wonder. If my number were 123-4567, this call was from 124-4568. Rob thinks it was coincidental, but I think it looks like some kind of scam. No message was left, of course.

I met DR Kerry when he came with our DR Laura to see the first production of THE BRAIN FORM PLANET S in LA. I hope my memory's right about that!
How does it smell, DR Elmore? The general rule seems to be: the more hideous it smells to us, the more they love it.
My neighbor Judy brought over a can of Weruva Marbella Paella for the babies to try. This seems to be the first seafood mix they've liked.

I haven't given Neve any of their seafood flavors, but she hasn't liked ANY of the Weruva flavors that I've gotten. :-\

They’re ALL scams. I now get spam on my cell phone in which all the calls show my prefix (770-) so that it looks like an innocent “local cell call that must be from someone I know”. Right?
Sadly, I remember when spam somehow or other didn’t go to cell phones, and then at some point ..... it did.

I've been getting spam calls on my cell phone for maybe a year or two now. Some of them use different numbers so you can't recognize them easily. Sometimes I'm tempted not to answer, but it often turns out to be something important. There's no way I'd know all the numbers of people I need to talk to about one thing or another.

As picky as cats are perhaps you could find other cat owners and trade the unopened cans. Might there be a website for this? ;)

In honor of Kerry's birthday, I am baking a chocolate cake.
This morning I helped the church women make individual meals in bulk. Does that make sense? Mostly I washed the dishes as they dirtied them. They made about 50 meals, each individually packaged. So now when someone has surgery or a family emergency or something, we can take a couple meals out of the freezer.

My niece used to volunteer at a no-kill shelter. Any cat food that her cats don't like, she'll donate to them. Sometimes, she's even just bought some food for them, just to make a donation.
Well, I'm off to the theater! Tonight begins the last weekend for Olympia Little Theatre's production of Communicating Doors. I think it's pretty much sold out for the rest of the run! Pretty darned cool!
Be back later!

You can always drop off food without being a regular volunteer ;)
I guess 48 HOURS is responsible for the sudden round of updates on Natalie Wood’s death. I guess they ave a special about the case this Saturday night.
My left knee has been really hurting me the last few days.
That is one of the only parts of that leg that has full feeling.

I am amazed that so many people can actually find that theater.

My friend, Sharry, gave this great book on the Kennedy assassination. The book is huge, and has 600+ pages. It is so weird to be reading a really massive book, when I am used to reading everything on my Kindle or iPad

It's been several years since I've read a book with actual paper pages, too.
