Well, you've read the notes, the notes mused, and now it is time for you to post until the musing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MOXIE!
-
What exactly are Wacky Noodles?
-
Today marks the centennial of IDA LUPINO.
This amazing, trail-blazing actress, director and producer was born on February 4, 1918 in the UK.

Very enjoyable workshop detail in today's notes.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I fed the babies at 7:00 and went back to bed. Around 9:15 I started moving about. I do not feel ill, just not up to par. My energy is low.
-
I may go to a concert on 114th and Broadway this afternoon, depending on how I'm feeling. At the moment, I would rather go back to bed.
-
Little Thatch is becoming quite the talker. He was quiet for so long. When he first came, we only heard sounds out of him when he was hiding under the bookshelves, crying and hungry, or yowling and hissing when he and Annabelle were fighting. Now that he's decided that he loves his big sister and that a studio apartment on the Upper West Side beats the hell out of fighting for survival on a Bronx garage roof, he's becoming very chatty.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’ve discovered that my internet speed has fallen way the hell down at some point recently, so Comcast/Xfinity will be getting a call from me in a little while. I’m on their “Blast” tier, and speed tests are showing one-third of the minimal speed defined by that.
-
Good morning.
-
DR Chas good luck getting your internet speed back up.
-
Almost noon on the East Coast and this is post #13??
-
Where is everyone?
-
Page 1? Really?
-
I'm here! Hi TCB!
-
It's a gloomy day in the nation's capital. Rain and maybe freezing rain expected.
-
I have DVDs I've never watched and I'm here watching Match Game '78 on BUZZR.
-
Looking forward to the Bowl today--the Puppy Bowl, that is.
-
Good morning, all.

A favorite of mine. I have a copy of Richard Widwark, Cornel Wilde, Celeste Holm and her in Road House that I haven't watched. I will have to do that when I can find the time.
-
This afternoon, I think I'm going to the movies. I really want to see Call Me By Your Name on the big screen.
-
And I don't feel like going to a Super Bowl party.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! I begged off a third trip to the church in Dayton in as many days and enjoyed some solitude this morning. Richard is home now and we're looking forward to a quiet Super Bowl Sunday. We'll watch the game and have burgers made with the ground venison that he received from a couple at church. We were advised to mix it with ground sausage.
-
I think I will meet Joshie at the 2:00 concert. It's at 114th and Broadway, so it's only a short bus ride.
-
Just had a nice phone conversation with my brother-in-law Jerry, who turns 80 today. He's my sister's husband, so I also had a nice, much longer, chat with her.
-
Solved part of my internet speed problem by resetting the modem before calling them. (I'm SO glad I did that first. Always reset first, folks.)
According to several speed tests that got my download speeds up where they belong. Upload speed is a different matter, and if another reset doesn't help it I'll still have to call. But that's not quite as critical.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of blessed sleep.
-
Page one? REALLY?
-
And no one answers jan's question???
-
Page two? Really?

And no one answers jan's question???
And you didn't answer jan's question?

Page two? Really?

Bk is very very very close to his big round-ish millstone!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Congrats to John G and Joy on yesterday's dancing success.
-
I don't really know what Wacky Noodles are. I just know that BK likes them and prepares them a lot.
-
Another fan of Ida Lupino here.

Dontcha love it when you can fix things yourself?
Well done, Chas.
-
I did next to nothing yesterday, which is very unusual for me. Today I'm doing the laundry that I didn't do yesterday.
-
The musical theatre workshop sounded quite interesting.
-
Was it just for people associated with Group Rep?
-
Vibes to all.
Have a good Sunday, everyone.
TTFN.
-
The musical theatre workshop sounded quite interesting.
Yes. Very interesting.
-
It was a lovely concert: "A Little Night Music Suite," orchestrated by Jonathan Tunick; "Thinking Like A Mountain," a work for speaker and orchestra by Victoria Bond, the conductor; "Cheever Country," a suite composed by Jonathan Tunick; and Copland's "Billy the Kid." I saw several friends there as well as Jonathan and his beautiful wife Leigh Beery.
-
Even though I’m not watching the game, I made some tomatillo salsa. Very spicy and really good. I could use this on chicken or fish.
-
Very enjoyable workshop detail in today's notes.
Agreed!
-
Sounds wonderful, Elmore.
-
Well, I’m off to the movies.
-
DR Chas good luck getting your internet speed back up.
Ditto!!

It's very good!

Just had a nice phone conversation with my brother-in-law Jerry, who turns 80 today. He's my sister's husband, so I also had a nice, much longer, chat with her.
A very happy birthday to your brother-in-law!
-
So, last night's show was sold out, as is today's final performance! We had to hold the house for almost 10 minutes to be able to add chairs and get everyone in...which they did. About 20 were hold-overs from last night, so it's good that they were able to get in today.
-
The cast party last night was at the director's house. There was some food (always meatballs) and good conversation. I didn't get home until about 2:30 a.m. I fed my cat then went right to bed.

Same from us. Happy milestone birthday, Jerry!

After the show today, we have to strike. Fortunately, it won't be too difficult. The set itself won't come down until tomorrow, so today we just have to move the set pieces over to the storage shed, which is right behind the theater. The cast will organize the costumes and clean the dressing rooms. The tech crew (including me) will move the set pieces and things like that.
-
After the strike, I'm going to my parents' house for our weekly family dinner. Hopefully, something will be left for me...whatever it'll be. :)
-
And no one answers jan's question???
Just waiting for you to respond.
-

;D
-
OK, I did a search for the Wacky Noodle recipe.
UNSEEMLY WACKY NOODLES
1 12oz. bag of wide egg noodles, mostaciolli or bow tie pasta (your choice).
Boil them noodles.
Drain them noodles and put 'em back in the pot and put the pot back on the stove and put the flame on low.
To the noodles add the following:
One can cream of mushroom soup
Fill the empty soup can with milk and add that.
Add as much dried minced onion as you like (the kind you find in the seasoning section of your market)
Add salt and pepper
Add two tablespoons or a bit more of ketchup (don't be scared, you must trust me - this is basically for color and it adds just the right flavor ultimately)
Mix it all together whilst singing Beat Me Daddy Eight to the Bar
When it is heated through and through add five to eight ounces of sour cream (depending on your waist size) and mix again thoroughly and heat on low until hot, stirring constantly. Serve (will probably need extra salt as you serve).
Now, I know it sounds wacky, because, after all, they are Wacky Noodles, but they are delicious, kind of like stroganoff without meat. Give it a try, you'll like it for sure.
-
Happy 80th birthday to Jerry, brother in-law of DR Ginny.
-
And now, the last intermission.
-
Jane is the good one.
-
Yes, the musical theater workshop was just for Group Rep folks.
-
Time for Act Two!
-
Jane is the good one.
I was not on my computer when I read DR Jan's question.
-
Clear day, high 50's, just lovely. We took a 7 mile walk along the river and over to the air field behind Fort Vancouver. There was a lone guy on the runway chasing away close to 500 geese. It was interesting to see them all in flight.
-
Making dinner plans with other people is difficult when we prefer to eat way earlier then everyone else.
-
It's too warm here. I'm ready to turn on the AC.
I wish it would get cold and stay cold for some time.
-
I am thrilled it warmed up here.
-
DR Kevin our son said it is pretty dreary out and it would be much nicer if it were snow. I suppose DR elmore would be happier with the weather in DC ;)
-
And it's done. We had a great run. I'm a bit sad to see this one go. Now, strike then to my parents'.
Be back later!
-
I've been playing with the laser. Thatch and Annabelle chased it all over the studio and into an Amazon carton. at which point I switched it off. Two puzzled kitties have been in and out of that carton over and over, wondering where the hell the thing they were chasing went to. It's mean, but i found it quite funny. They're so cute.
-
;D :)
-
Loved Call Me By Your Name. Am eating some excellent street tacos. I just didn’t want leftovers tonight.
-
Weird. I did that as two posts. At least I thought I did.
-
Listening to The Red Shoes soundtrack while I do some reading. Interesting that toward the end of the ballet cut, all of a sudden, Martin Luther's "Savior of the Nations, Come" becomes a major theme. I had to pay the piece, a long 12:50, to make sure I heard that right.
-
Reading is GOOD!
-

Apparently, watching Armie Hammer in any movie stirs a hunger in many filmgoers. (On the other hand, I'm unable to hear his name without thinking of the famed baking soda. Is he related to Arm and Hammer?)
-
Maybe I'll google and look that up.
-
This from wiki on Armie Hammer: "Hammer's paternal great-grandfather was oil tycoon and philanthropist Armand Hammer."
So is that Armand Hammer related to the baking soda?
-
Page THREE? REALLY?
-
What the HELL is going on around here?
-
I paid a visit to Ralphs - just got a few items.
-
Listening to music now. The Flix of Net has nothing I want to watch, so it may be time to dispense with them.

Armand Hammer was his grandfather. Armie and his wife, Elizabeth, live here in San Antonio. My friend Gail met him once at a Fiesta event, got his picture and said he was really charming. Folks in town really love him.
-
If I ever get to meet Armie, I'd like to tell him about the day his great-grandfather gave me and a couple of other reporters a private tour of his art collection, which he was loaning to the University of Kentucky for exhibition. Both Hammer and his wife were as nice as can be, and he was certainly proud of that collection. Someone had told him that no one would create a private art collection really worth anything, and he took it as a personal challenge to prove that person wrong.
Of course that was back before Armie was even born. I don't think he ever got to meet his great-grandfather.
-
Let's retire this page.
-
And soon.
-
Four!
-
back to my reading.
-
Interesting, and Skip tells me that Armie Hammer's co-star in "Call Me By Your Name," grew up right here on our block in the other building of Manhattan Plaza.
Wondering if he'll overtake the amazing Alicia Keys (who grew up in our building) as the most famous person to have been raised in Manhattan Plaza.
-
Reading is GOOD.
-
Page four is BAD.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone? I wasn't aware we had a lot of Stupid Bowl people here?
-
I've been going through the new copy of the book and have already made several changes, running them by Muse Margaret first. She brought something up that was so right and something that hadn't occurred to us before, so I wrote that change right away and will read it to her tomorrow - it's just two sentences but boy does it make all the difference in the world. I made a couple of other small deletions and added a couple of lines of dialogue. When I'm finished doing all that tomorrow, I'll make sure the proofers get those changes to proof.

Nice story.

Hmmmm, IMBD, says they grew up in Hall's Kitchen. I didn't realize this was your neighborhood.
-
Took a hot shower, and came up with one more little addition that has to do with the comment Muse Margaret made - I think in certain ways it's the best comment she made because the tiny additions I've done because of it really are helpful and they help smooth out what I've always felt were a couple of awkward transitions to new sequences.
-
Page FOUR? Really?
-
Listening to beautiful music by Gerald Finzi, a wonderful English composer.
-

I don't think his family has anything to do with the "Arm and Hammer" company or their products.

That's a great story, John!
-
I'm home.
-
When I finally got to my parents' house, they all were finishing up a game of Scrabble.
-
I ate (my mom made me some tilapia) and then we played Phase 10. I came in third. ::)
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, George.
-
Where
is was everybody today?
-
It was a great Super Bowl!
-
Especially because The Eagles beat The Patriots.
-
But the whole game was exciting.
-
I think the final score was 41 to 33.
-
Anyway, whatever the score, The Eagles won by 8 points.
-
The Christmas lasagna is still in the frig - unbaked.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I pulled it from the freezer yesterday, as planned, but when it came time to eat today, I completely forgot about it.
-
Oh well, I will bake it tomorrow.
-
One more post.
-
I pulled it from the freezer yesterday, as planned, but when it came time to eat today, I completely forgot about it.
At least you didn't leave it on the counter overnight! I've done things like that. :P

-
Do you like tilapia?
-
I was charging my phone at my parents', and my mom asked if I could look at her cell phone and figure out how things work (such as texting and voice mail) and then teach her. She had a lot of apps opened, and didn't even know how to close them. It went through a systems update and I brought her phone home with me and have been messing with it for a while.
-
I found her two texting apps (I have no idea why there are two on her phone), and was able to get her voice mail password from my sister's boyfriend. This phone is actually on his plan. Anyway, I think I have enough information to teach her just the basics that she needs to know. Hopefully, she'll be able to remember it all! She's pretty good about writing down things like that.
-
Do you like tilapia?
It's not my favorite. And she does a very light breading...I do prefer a thicker breading.
-
I wish I could do more things on my phone.
-
I like some fish, but I usually prefer to eat it out, rather than cook it at home.
-
I like halibut, cod, sole, and orange roughy (can you still buy that?).
-
I don’t eat salmon.
-
Oh yes, I enjoyed the Justin Timberlake half-time show.
-
He did a nice tribute to Prince, because Minneapolis was his home.
-
The temperature was really mild today.
-
I like some fish, but I usually prefer to eat it out, rather than cook it at home.
I really only like fishsticks and fish & chips, and I would never make it at home unless it's something frozen like fishsticks.
