It’s at the top of my list, along with Mike Douglas interviewing Gwen Verdon and Chita Rivera when they were doing Chicago.

I semi to remember musical performances more than interviews, such as the cast of Bubbling Brown Sugar, again on Mike Douglas.

Many interviews on the Jack Paar Show which was on at 10 p.m. on Friday evenings - after he had left The Tonight Show.

Including:

Oscar Levant who quoted his first professional review:  "In his debut last night, pianist Oscar Levant left his contemporaries and his conductor far behind."

Also interviews with Judy Garland, Dodie Goodman, Nichols & May, and Jonathan Winters....

I have pulled some clothes from the hamper to launder.  There is no way I can take the whole load to the basement using the stairs, but I haven't done laundry since before the elevator installation began, and I need some clean essentials.  I may not get to the laundry today with the pain in my back, but I'm hoping I can manage it tomorrow.

Amazon screwed up the listing, though.  Under the Additional DVD options, there are listings from 2004 and earlier.  Those and most of the reviews are for the Shelley Long movie of the same name, which has absolutely nothing to do with this movie musical, or the original musical. :P

I think I'd read that it did have a "limited run" a couple of months ago, probably just for official Oscar contention.

15-20%

It's my understanding (and many friends have told me) that normally you don't have to tip if you call in an order and pick it up yourself.  But to me, this situation is much different.  The order was so large that it just screams for a tip!

I will, however, respond to Jane's question about tipping for take-out.

I always thought tipping applied to table service and therefore didn't tip for take-out. But several years ago I started frequenting a restaurant for take-out and they gave me such consistently good service--getting my order right, remembering my name and being friendly--that I felt tipping was in order. Especially since I know these people don't get paid much. I don't tip 15% for take-out, though. It varies as I use even amounts and tip in cash, even though I pay for my order with a credit card.

And what about a massage therapist? Some of them fall into the medical category and I always thought tipping wasn't appropriate. For generic, especially discount, massage, I tip, of course.

For hairdressers, the tipping guidelines have said that you don't need to tip the owner of the salon. But I always found that kind of silly. For one, you don't always know who the owner is. So I tip, period. NO ONE's ever declined my tips.

What about when the not-too-swift server gives your meal to another customer? And you see it happen and can't really do anything about it? Then you have to wait while they prepare your order AGAIN. The manager came over and apologized, but with less-than-heartfelt words and a very meager offer. This was a couple months ago and I'm still annoyed. I haven't been back and it was one of my favorite restaurants.

I really don't think that some people realize how their flip attitudes can ruin a business. They CAN.

I like when the server is honest about their mistake and apologizes.

I agree about the owner and after expenses they sometimes make less.

How much to tip is the question.  I tip $5-$10, more at Christmas with the amount depending how long I have been going to the person.

Of course if the order is completely wrong and they cop an attitude rather than apologizing and fixing it i have an isdye

They CAN.

That is annoying, especially if you are a regular there.

Speaking of restaurants, I think it's time for a little dinner.

Yesterday 3 of us ordered the healthy vegetable rice bowl.  We have all had it there before but this time is was lacking in flavor.  I thought it was just me or I would have asked for some teriyaki sauce or something.

I had half of my meal leftover of a not so big bowl.  The waiter asked if I was done and was going to take it when my friend asked for a box.  Half eaten and I was not asked if it was ok, or if I wanted to take it home.

I added extra food, and seasoning to my leftovers for dinner tonight.  An improvement but still not exciting.

Can I ask where you ordered it from? Amazon says it doesn’t have it v

In my post, the words "Hello Again" are a link to the Amazon listing, which is where I bought it.  Or, you can click here:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079MNBW7D/ (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079MNBW7D/)

Duh. It's been that kind of a day. But when I searched on amazon, it told me it wasn't available.

Ir's amazing how many nice comments the Encores! production is getting on FB today from outraged musical theatre queens who swore last May, when the season was announced, that they were canceling their Encores! subscriptions over the revue.

Everyone but the NYT and a couple of other critics seems to have loved it.

Watching The Battle of the Sexes. Good performances, but I really don't like the movie. It's a little too coy. .

The ending of the movie was better than the beginning with Howard Cosell’s sexist, stentorian drivel lifted from the original broadcast. That blending of fact with the actors really worked well.

I didn't watch.  I have seen the same story, or several like it :(

When our little cat Bacall was dying of cancer the other cats were very attentive to her.  Her brother and our other male cat took turns lying next to her.

The drive home was annoying however....they decided to do repair work on the bridge leading from Manhattan to LongIksand and right where 5 lanes are merging from the tunnel and the bridge they brought it down to 1 lane... It took an hour to go a single mile
