Well, you've read the notes, the notes were perpetual and had anticipation, and now it is time for you to post until the anticipated perpetual cows come home.

Do you have a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit down in Tumwater / Olympia / Lacey?

Yes, there's a Dickie's on the west side of Olympia.  Why do you ask?

I've been there once.  I'm not a fan of just chunks of meat.  I had their Chicken & Cheese Taco (https://www.dickeys.com/menu/butcher-tacos-13/chicken-and-cheese-taco), which is literally just chunks of chicken and some cheese on a fairly small tortilla.  I didn't love it. :-\

While I was there, a family arrived (father, mother, two young boys) that had obviously just came from church.  They all loved it...especially the young boys, so you might like it more than I did.

Annabelle has been acting more strangely than usual for the past two days.  She likes to explore the halls, as you all know, and we did a couple of turns yesterday. Last night, after the cat food guys left, she sat in front of the door, waiting to get out, and loudly mewed over and over.  I wouldn't let her out, but it worries me since I believe cats sense more than we do.  My first thought was, I hope Johnny's all right.  He's my 78+ year-old neighbor who's not in the best of health.

So, Annabelle and I will take a turn as soon as the birds finish up their breakfast and the cats get bored.

Re medical insurance stuff:  I had some routine (for my age) lab work done August 30, 2017, and it looks like the provider must have not put it in until January 2018, who knows why!  As it happens, which the broker says is normal, my coverage level changed (I believe improved) January 1, 2018, but the lab of course billed the plan number on the card I gave them in August 2017, since I haven't been in for a visit anywhere since getting the new 1/1/2018 insurance card.

Can I blame the insurance co. for not recognizing the number any more, and balking at the old plan having to pay a 5-month-old claim for someone not on that particular plan any more?

Bill Nelson (D) says now is the time. Pulse Night Club and all the other tragedies.

I waiting for radio host Alex Jones, who said Sandy Hook was a hoax, saying that this never happened.

Val tells me he saw Johnny yesterday, so I'm hoping that he's okay.  Annabelle and I made our tour of the building.  She sniffed around the fourth floor and refused to leave the door of Apartment 4C, the one above me.  As I kept trying to coax her away, the tenant came out and we spoke briefly.  Even after she was gone, Annabelle didn't want to leave the door.  I finally picked her up and carried her back to 3C.

Did you see the wonderful story yesterday about the Pennsylvania (I think) woman who was forced to give up a beloved dog when she was 14. Her father didn’t like it. Fast forward seven years, she’s on her own and she goes to adopt a dog. She finds her old dog again. The dog remembered her. The chip matched. The story didn’t say what happened to Dad.

Yesterday here in Indiana, there was a man talking about showing SINGIN' IN THE RAIN at a particular venue in Indy.  He said the version he was showing was BETTER than any BluRay or DVD anyone might have.

He said it was an original Technicolor print....but he also said it was a 16mm print.  I thought 16mm prints were dupes....did Technicolor make 16mm prints for theatrical showings....or is this indeed a dupe of some kind?

Asking the DVD Movie Mavens including MR BK.

For DR JOHN G - my ANYTHING GOES story that I heard from a reliable internet source.....

During her fabulous run of the show, Miss Patti LuPone often didn't bother to change her dance shoes for the title number.  She danced with two gentlemen from the ensemble.  After several performances of this, one evening the two gentlemen stepped aside - gestured to Miss PL - and allowed her to do the dance break without tap shoes....

16mm dye transfer prints were off dupe print down negatives, yes, but they could be stunning - I had many, including multiple prints of Singin' in the Rain, and they were better color than the current Blu-ray, which doesn't quite do it for me - but the camera negative may be missing on that title.  But showing 16mm in a normal theater venue is probably not a great idea.

Early this morning I wrote: "I'm waiting for radio host Alex Jones, who said Sandy Hook was a hoax, saying that this never happened.

I didn't have to wait long. Although he didn't deny it happened. The asshat did say:

The Democrats have been caught in false flags before. I'm not saying this is a false flag but they've been talking about massacres and things if people don’t leave them alone, and release the memo. So, if there are massacres and they keep threatening massacres, that makes them suspects when they’ve been threatening massacres. And who what mentally-ill person they’ve wound up or what’s happening or was this gang related. We don’t know. The media will say that I said it’s a false flag and the Democrats did it. I did not say that. We’re simply questioning the long history that these folks have.

Thank you, Vixmom. I always felt that way about the original Woman of the Year. I enjoy it, but it is sexist.

The musical faced a similar problem when Lauren Bacall and Harry Guardino played the parts, around 1981 or so.

On opening night in Boston and I guess a while after that, the end of the first act was that Tess Harding and Sam Craig had adopted a young child and Tess was not living up to the responsibility she'd taken on for the child, and Sam Craig was quite understandably upset.  Which was a strong conflict but was not right for the breezy feel of the pretty funny jokes and the songs. Except for us loving Bacall, Tess at intermission seemed like an awful person, and we understood Sam's being upset with her, with that young boy she'd adopted not being taken care of.

By the next time I saw the show in Boston, the adopted kid was gone, and the conflict to end Act 1 was - well, I didn't really know what it was, but figured Peter Stone and Kander & Ebb would fix it by New York. But it ultimately seemed to feel like Tess not being around enough for Sam, which -like "Something Greater" in APPLAUSE 10 years or so earlier ("being to your man what woman should be, that's something greater") - felt kind of wrong in the 1980's.

But in Boston, that not taking responsibility for that adopted kid felt very powerful for the plot as an act break, just didn't fit the breezy tone of the writing.

I'd often wondered if that kid playing the kid got a paycheck for his contract after being written out

Today, they'd have closed down for 10 weeks or so between out of town and NYC, in case they had to clean house in some way, since that seems to be the way Equity allows out of town engagements to make cast changes, by having a long-enough break.

Well, I want to buy an eSATA cable for one of my external hard drives and Fred Meyer doesn't sell them.  I don't think that I'd ever heard of it until I looked at the hard drive and saw that it was an option.  I did a little searching and found that it has a MUCH faster data transfer speed than USB2.  The hard drive doesn't have a USB3 output, but my computer has an eSATA input port.  Amazon sells the cables, but if the local Best Buy has one for close to what Amazon sells (about $12-15 on the low end), I'll get it.  We'll see.

Apparently, while they were waiting in the theater for me, their now close and personal friend, Miss Bacall came out from backstage.      After chatting about the show together, Lauren (by this time) worried about them waiting outside for me.  So, she got one of the securiy guards to wait with them until I finally showed up.
