Well, you've read the notes, the notes were full, and now it is time for you to post until the full cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PANEGYRIC!
-
'night
-
First post after Jane!
;)
-
Good night, Jane.

Today, the Olympia chapter of PFLAG is having an Anti-Valentine’s Day Pamper Yourself Event (http://pflag-olympia.org/event/anti-valentines-day-pamper-yourself-event/). My sister is on the board and will be making the smoothies with her fairly new Vitamix. When she bought it a couple of years ago, she gave me her older Vitamix, so I've been volunteered to help make the smoothies. I haven't used it very much, but it'll need to be cleaned. It's been sitting on my kitchen counter for quite a while collecting dust. ::) I won't have to be there until the afternoon, so I'll get to sleep in this morning before I have to clean the Vitamix.
;)
-
But now, to bed.
Good night all and have a great day!
-
Health vibes to dear vixmom!
-
Good morning, all!
-
good morning to all
-
Yes, DR FJL, your post got to Castrecl.
-
And feel better vibes to Vixmom
-
DR JohnG, thanks for the comment in the "Cat Who" books. I wasn't expecting Dashiell Hammett or Jane Austen. There are a lot of fluffy mysteries out there, some of which I've enjoyed. I'll try her first book and see how I like it.
-
Yesterday was a How To Succeed . . . day. Today it's Me and My Girl.
-
I bombed out this morning with the cat food. I put too much Omega 3 supplement into the mix and they refuse to go near it. Well, you learn.
-
I had many weird dreams last night. In one, my brothers and I were at my Aunt Lois' farmhouse in London, Ohio. In another, Annabelle's vet, Dr Mohr, was waiting on test results for me and we talked about Annabelle's exam on Tuesday.
-
Yes, DR FJL, your post got to Castrecl.
Thanks so much, Larry!
I guess there's a new system where the sender doesn't receive his or her own message

She was finding her footing in the first one or two, if you read them in order. I think they’re a little darker than the rest of the series.
-
Good morning, all.

Yesterday, my wife and I (finally) sat down and listened to LEVI!
Terrific score. Marvelous cast.
Loved many of the songs. Indeed, a couple had us tearing up.
My one complaint: I wish that the CD liner notes contained a synopsis of the plot, so it would be easier to know who some of the characters are and the context for a few of the songs.
That said, we really liked it.
Any prospects of the show going beyond this production?
-
Maybe it's my fear that 8 year-old Chester, who's been returned twice by shitty owners to Animal Control, will not survive the third wait for a new home or that fact that he's so adorable in his sweater, but I really want to rescue this cat and save him.

Chester is my dog's name. I wish he was friendly to other animals. I'd have a cat. Love cats.
-
Got some snow clearing to do. We easily got seven or eight inches.
-
Chester looks adorable. Any info on why he’s been returned twice? That’s horrible. Poor baby.

Allergies in the family. I have no idea why the first owners returned him at age 7. The longer he sits in the Brooklyn ACC, the sooner he'll catch a contagious upper respiratory infection and they will euthanize him.

I wish I had money. I'm afraid Annabelle's procedure on Tuesday will cost me a fortune I do not have. If I ever win the lottery, a lot of it will go to animal rescue.

It's been a bad morning. After my bath, I planned to fill the tub with enough cold water to rinse it out, since Annabelle likes to drink the leaky drops in the drain. I got distracted and forgot about it until Val knocked on my door to see if my bathroom ceiling was leaking like those in 1C and 2C. The tub was overflowing and there was at least an inch of water on the floor. It's mopped up and tomorrow when all the wet towels in the tub have dried some, I will do laundry.
I've been down to my neighbors to apologize. How embarrassing.

:o It sure leaked through the floor quickly.
Does your cell phone have a timer? I set mine all the time now in case I get distracted. I would not have heard the tub overflowing.

Sunday afternoon greetings! Day 3 of my cold and I'm no longer amused.

It appears to be raining snow.

Cold be gone vibes to DR Ginny!
-
Indeed cold be gone vibes for DR GINNY.
VIBES for DR VIXMOM - I liked DR JEANNE's advice about supplements yesterday.
DR JANE did you start your book? Are you reading one or writing one?
-
The Pizza is in the Oven.....for lunch today. The frozen pizzas are not as good as the delivery pizzas, but they are much CHEAPER to be sure.

Indiana's Nick Goepper won the Silver Medal in Ski Slopestyle - sort of a cross between skiing and skateboarding. Gay Gus also from the US did not medal. He broke his thumb in practice and had an injured leg. so his three runs were not as good as usual.

MR BK would love slope style skiing....most of the participants let their pants sag....one skier showed his backside crack to 4 billion people around the world....there doesn't seem to be a photo on the inner web.....he didn't survive the first round.
This is typical:

Thank you to DRs TCB and JRand for the vibes.

DR Vixmom, please see a cardiologist - ASAP!

Greater Cincinnati also claims Nick because of Lawrenceberg’s location on the I-275 beltway. I didn’t stay up to see his medal rounds.

I didn't go church go today , I just didn't feel like going out and scraping ice off the car and c,earring the path...and for once I was not signed up to do anything at all
-
But I forgot to plug in the iPad last night and I am down to 2%
-
Like milk.
-
Take care of yourself today DR VIXMOM.
-
The bathroom floor has dried, and things are sorta back to where they were, except for all the soggy towels I'm trying to dry out before I wash them tomorrow.
-
DR Ginny you sound like Keith. He said this is the worse cold he has had in years.
Feel better.
-
DR JANE did you start your book? Are you reading one or writing one?
I began reading "Why Kings Confess", the 9th book in the Sebastian St. Cyr series by C.S. Harris.
Hmm, I should have thought to write a book years ago. Keith re-writing it would be the way to finally get him to write one. I wish I had a penny for every time someone said he should write a book.
-
I have been following Gus since he rescued the dogs in Russia. It was too bad he had the double injuries but nice to see he was gracious about it.
-
DR Ginny you sound like Keith. He said this is the worse cold he has had in years.
Feel better.
Thanks, DR Jane! I’ve had worse colds, but this one’s really annoying.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I didn't get to bed until four, so eight hours of sleep.
-
And I am back in business
-
:)
-
Good afternoon.

Page 2? Still?
-
The snow has finally stopped.
-
Now we have blue skies and dropping temperatures.
-
The snow never did stick around here.
-
I guess it stuck over at Tracy's house.
-
We should be fine going to Seattle.
-
Page 3
-
It is still 33 degrees outside.
-
It might be a little icy coming home, but not on the freeways.
-
Lows in the twenties overnight.
-
Ushered for the ballet today. One was a lovely original set to the Adagio from Mahler’s 5th. Another was a song cycle called Something Stupid and included Dionne’s version of Ill Never Fall in Love Again.
-
Little Thatch gets more adorable and bigger every day. He was terrified of me, and now he walks up and tries to climb my leg to beg for food. He loves Virginia ham but I give him very little since it's not good for him, I'm hoping he likes sliced turkey. He and Annabelle are not fond of turkey cat food.
-
DR TCB did your sister and my niece go to Eastern Washington?
-
It might be a little icy coming home, but not on the freeways.
Safe travels.
-
My postponed check-up with my doctor is tomorrow morning. I hope it isn't icy and that I don't feel worse than I do today.
-
I am still telling myself I do not have a cold, only time will tell.
-
No cold VIBES for DR JANE.
-
We have rain predicted for Mon-Wed and temps close to 60 degrees.

As "they" say, "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished." --Friday I took Metro to the station where I park my car. I got to my car and a young guy next to me was trying to charge his battery and having no luck. He asked if I had jumper cables. I said I did and gave them to him to connect to both cars. His car started right away, he thanked me and I went on my way. When I got home I noticed that the "check engine" light was on. Somehow I think it was related to the battery charging.
-
No cold VIBES for DR JANE.
Thank you.
-
So today I went to see "Chess" at the Kennedy Center. I enjoyed it very much. The show started at about 2:15 pm (instead of 2) after it was announced that "Raul Esparza is suffering with a throat infection but has graciously agreed to perform this afternoon." He did pretty well and got a great ovation after one of his songs and at the curtain call. Ramin Karimloo was terrific, as always, as was Bryce Pinkham (he has such a beautiful tenor voice). Karen Olivo was a showstopper. Ruthie Ann Miles was good but I enjoyed her duet with Karen more than her solos.
-
The sun came out and we went for a short walk. I would have liked it to be longer. I am not complaining as I did not expect to walk at all today. It felt good.
We bundled up very well and had more clothes on than most of the other people on the path.

Car vibes this is minor. Maybe it just needs a quick reset.
-
I went to the stage door and after waiting about a half hour I looked up from my phone and could have sworn I saw former DR Jose walk out. I wasn't close enough to catch him. I looked in the playbill but didn't see a list of musicians, so I don't know if he was playing or just visiting.

Yikes! Vibes this doesn't up being a costly good deed.

He was in the audience and visiting friends

Thanks, DR vixmom! I guess he was visiting someone after the show.

Kevin his old is your battery , they used to last 5-7 years but now only seem to last 3
-
I made potato soup
-
Jane would hate it
-
I used a ham stock base to boil the Idaho baking potatoes and then mashed them down, added half a quart of sour cream (it's 3 quarts of soup)and let it thicken.
-
It's delicous
-
If I do say so myself
-
And ,in fact, I just did
-
Last night I made the chicken dish I made the other day but instead of mozzarella I used a nice slice of smoked Gouda.....mmmmmmmmmmmm
-
Oh and I see page 4 snuck in when I wasn't looking
-

I guess it is about 5 years old.
-
Battery vibes for DR KEVINH.
My 12-month WalMart Battery - the only one that would fit my car - went out the first week of the 13th month.
-
Now I'm hungry DR VIXMOM.
Yes DR JOSE posted a photo of his CHESS Playbill.
Watching some Ice Dancing.
-

I figured you would say that.
-
Car vibes for KevinH. Thanks for the Chess update.
Did the book bother you? I am just tired of reading bad reviews of the show because of the book. I don't really care about the book anymore. I just want to hear those songs sung by people like Raul Esparza. That's all that matters when I see the name Chess. This is one of those rare musicals like Baby with a score so great that even a bad book can't kill it.
-
Made the meatloaves for Bible study. I think I liked it better without tomato sauce. Both were juicy, thanks to my mixing in ground pork with the beef and covering the top with bacon.
-
I'm on the last episode of Barbara Stanwyck. She plays a mother who goes into shock when her young daughter dies.
I'm going to go into withdrawal for a short while. I'm going to miss what an intelligent actress she is. I may have to get Ball of Fire from the library.
-
Where are you finding the shows? You didn't mention if your film is backwards like ours was.

The library has them. They're on a label called the Archive of American Television. And no, not backwards.

Netflix has the first volume available DVD.

Thanks. I just told Keith.
-
We can't seem to watch anything on Roku tonight.
-
For some reason, they remade Whisky Galore in the recent past. The old black-and-white version was a gem. This one has its moments, especially Fernella Woolgar, but it lacks the whimsy of the original. I think Bill Forsyth, if he's still making movies, might have been a better choice for director. But after "Local Hero" and "Housekeeping," he seems to have all but disappeared.
-
Where did everyone go?
-
Go. That's Og spelled backwards.
-
Back in college, there was a band named Og Pots. They were pretty good.
-
Thirty-two years later, my sister still talks about them as if their latest gig were last week.
-
I have started to watch Walter Hill's director's cut of The Warriors, which I don't think I've ever seen in any form. It's really interesting, doesn't look like much of anything else I've ever seen. It's very much of its time, but I like it.
-
I guess I'll finish it up tomorrow.
-
If this page will ever evaporate.
-
Etaropave spelled backwards.
-
The wonderful and missed Lynne Thigpen is a disc jockey in the movie. You only see her lips as she speaks into the microphone.
-
Hello, 2 guests!
-
What is your favorite Walter Hill movie?
-
Five!
-
Page five? Really?
-
Good night, all.
-
Thirty-two years later, my sister still talks about them as if their latest gig were last week.
Cute.
-
I am looking at a dusting of snow out there and thinking ice when I leave tomorrow.

;)
Well, the PFLAG event went well. About 30 or so people attended. There were massages, manicures and pedicures, facials, and some people played Cards Against Humanity. There was plenty of food for people to eat, and the smoothies were enjoyed (we made two different kinds). Someone on the PFLAG board brought a lasagna 2-pack from Costco and only one was eaten. I took home the second one because no one else wanted to take any of it home. :D Pretty much everything else was eaten. A good time was had by all.
-
Now, I'm home and watching TV.
-

It appears to be raining snow.
It was really snowing this morning when I finally got up. There was snow on the ground and even my car! It wasn't too easy to scrape off. It froze after it landed on my car, which fortunately wasn't completely covered.

~~~Ditto and Ditto!!~~~
Finished proofing - found a missing period, and will run a few really minor things by Muse Margaret in the morning, then hopefully Grant and I can wrap this up and go have a nice lunch.
-
Saw a play - not a very good play at that and exacerbated by some very strange acting choices and direction.
Yikes! Nothing worse than strange acting choices and direction. :P
-
Good evening (barely).
-
Home from Seattle.
-
MAMMA MIA was wonderful!!
-
The only name in the cast (if you can call him that) was Paolo Montalban. He played the Prince in the TV version of CINDERELLA starring Brandy.
-
The female lead was really terrific. Her name is Kendra Kassebaum. She was in the Broadway production of COME FROM AWAY.
-
Of course, she was first in the Seattle Rep production of COME FROM AWAY, which became the Broadway cast (well, most of it).
-
Her version of "Winner Takes It All" literally stopped the show.
-
The wife of my friend Harrison (who played Edna in Hairspray last year) is in it!
-
The wife of my friend Harrison (who played Edna in Hairspray last year) is in it!
What is her name?
-
Her name is Carolyn Willems Van Dijk (well, that's her maiden and professional name).
-
Also in the cast is Kristin Burch. She was Baby June when I did Gypsy here in Olympia, more than 20 years ago (she has no idea who I am).
-
Her husband is Matt Posner. We were both in TAO's production of Reefer Madness. He also works at the 5th Avenue Theatre. He was in the musical version of Secondhand Lions that I saw there a few years ago.
-
I remember her (I am looking at the Who's Who).
-
I remember her (I am looking at the Who's Who).
Carolyn was Edna in the first OFT production of Cinder Edna, where I ran the sound.
-
Yes, I know who Matt is.
-
What's funny us how many husbands and wives can say that they both played lead characters named Edna? :))
-
PAGE SIX!!
-
The entire cast was great. Paolo was not really as good as the rest of the cast. Of course, they did two shows today, so I guess you can't fault anyone for not being on top of their game.
-
Damn! I am ready to go back and see the show again.
-
That's too bad. Hopefully (for him), it was just an off-night. :-\
-
The guy who played the daughter's
boyfriend fiancé was really cute. Of course his entire wardrobe in the show was a bathing suit, and sometimes an unbuttoned shirt.
-
Damn! I am ready to go back and see the show again.
I want to see it, too. I saw it when the tour came to Seattle. I think it was at the 5th Avenue, also.
I think part of it may be the way the character is written. He plays the same part that Pierce Brosnan played in the film and I didn't like him either.
I loved the three extra songs they do after the bows.
-
And that theater was packed!
-
And that theater was packed!
I don't doubt that.
