Well, you've read the notes, the notes were perfectly reasonable, and now it is time for you to post until the perfectly reasonable cows come home.

Well, time to go to sleep now.  My family is coming to my place today for our weeky family dinner and I need to re-declutter before they get here.  I'm making spaghetti.  That's fairly simple, but good.

Have a good day, all!

I wanted to sleep late, but by 7:45 Thatch and Annabelle would have none of that.  So, they've been fed, the birds have been fed, and I am bathed and dressed.  I'm doing my Sunday morning religious duties by listening to sacred music.  This morning it's Bach cantatas Nos. 51, 80, and 8.

BK - I'm having no luck getting the extra order or whatever it is out of my cart. It won't let me drop it t zero and start over. Is it possible for me to just let the payment go through to Kritzerland, send me just the one GEE when it comes out, and hold the extra $$$ as a credit balance on something I'll buy in the (I'm sure near) future?

One of the cats made a leap from my bed and took with it the cord for my reading lamp, tossing the lamp to the floor.  My first fear was that the falling lamp had injured the cat, but all escaped undamaged.  As I survey the wreckage of my apartment - Thatch's pieces of chewed-up paper, the spilled dry food, the various Amazon boxes, the DVDs on the floor, their toys cluttering the floor - I can hear my mother yelling at brother Macbeth and me "I can't keep nice things."

Karma's a bitch, Ma.

I so love that even in the very rare case that DR George says something negative, he still ends the sentence with something good to say.

I wish I could think of doing that more often

I'm happy that I finished all the heavy tax work yesterday,  All I have to do today is prepare clean itemized lists for myself and accountant, separate the incme from the 10199s and W2s, and box up last year's taxes to be put away after tomorrow.

They started in on me at 7:15 or thereabouts, but I held my ground and things calmed down for a while...so I actually got an extra 45 minutes of sleep today.  That’s not as bountiful as yesterday’s, but, you know, you don’t get Christmas twice a year either.

I will.  She spent about 3 weeks in the hospital before the babies arrived 4 weeks early.  The babies need to catch up to where they would have been if they waited those extra 4 weeks. I guess it takes longer on the outside.

The care all along has been impressive.

It's Sunday Sweet Sunday....but the title of the notes had me confused....yes the notes are to blame for my confusion...that's it.

I watched the Gold Medal Hockey Game between OAR and Germany...I certainly wanted the Germans to win over those awful Ruskies....but they lost 4-3 in OVERTIME.

This recording is the one I grew up with.  I love the entire cast and Margery Gray is so wonderful.  I find the "Mary Martin Sings all of ANYTHING GOES" an effort, and I wish I liked the Beaumont version more.  I really hated a lot of the original Lincoln Center production.  I mostly play the John McGlinn-EMI recording.  It's poorly cast and John has no sense of dramatic drive, but those original 1934 orchestratons and score remain my faves.

FJL. this is what I see in my cart via Safari:

Description
Price
Quantity
Total
GEE
$25.00 -   +
Remove
$100.00

Not laid out like that, of course, it's straight across the page - you see the item title, the price and then a little box with the number of copies you ordered (in my case I put four in) the box has a plus and minus sign on either side enabling you to change the number, and below the box is "remove" - if you click on "remove" the item goes away.  Now, I haven't tried that with International so let me do that, but it should be the same.

Went back to it today and listened to it straight through to reboot my ears.  It's a beautiful recording.  The Lincoln Center production was just before I moved east, though I’ve now seen two local productions of that book.  It is SO supercharged as a dance spectacular...

Went to see a high school production of Chicago today. Interesting. The show remains more topical today than ever. At the very end, when Velma and Roxie are thanking everyone in the audience for the kind thoughts and prayers that helped them through their ordeal, I couldn't help but think of the reaction to the school shooting and the growing reaction against the "thoughts and prayers" phrase. It really hit home.

It helped that the Velma had an excellent body, some nice dance moves and great voice. That the Roxie was slightly more awkward only made her performance a little more fitting.

Limelight is getting a little long in the tooth. It needs to lose a good 20 minutes or so.

Spring has struck, and the plantings have begun. I put in two cucumber plants and one tomatillo today. The fig tree has leaves growing on it. The loquat tree is covered with tiny fruit. The chives are young and healthy looking. The mint is soft. The trees are getting that soft spring green. It's just nice out there.

One of the extras on Limelight is a very early Chaplin short called A Night in the Show. He plays two different theatergoers, Mr. Pest and Mr. Rowdy. It's laugh out loud funny.

I love this umbrella

Is it difficult to open or close?  I remember one or the other was a problem with reviewers.

Nope, there is a little red button you push

Either this was improved or it is a different brand than the one I saw.

Rehearsal in five minutes - should only last fifteen and then I'm FREE to be me and me.  Just two more commentary things to do and that's done.

Spring is  still at least 30 - 40 days away hereabouts

Talked with Mom tonight. Louisville is having one of its worst flooding in ages. Thankfully, the house is dry at the moment. No water in the basement. But water is everywhere else. And I think the garage may be flooded. That's not really a problem as there isn't a car or much of anything else except for some tools and stuff that they refuse to get rid of.

I've started Sidney Lumet's movie of The Group. I never read the book, though I've got a copy somewhere. Given it's length (it's about 2.5 hours), I know I won't finish it tonight. But the first half hour has been fun.

Today, the family came to my place for our weekly family dinner.  I had allowed my bottom floor and some of my second floor become cluttered again (as usual), so I needed to de-clutter before they came.  Fortunately, I was able to put things out of site by hiding (no, not organizing) them.  I even dusted my piano and the little shelf units that are down there. ;D

For dinner, I made spaghetti and a couple of different sauces.  One was "flavored with meat" (but it didn't contain any actual meat, according to the list of ingredients, though ::) ) and the other was just a marinara sauce with no meat.  I also had some vegan meatballs that my sister and niece liked.  They weren't bad.  I actually bought them for myself, just to try them.  My mom liked the vegan sauce, too.  My dad did prefer the meat flavored sauce...mainly I think just because it was "flavored with meat" and not because it actually tasted better, but that's just my guess. ;)

We played Phase 10 (my niece won), and we had an apple crumble, and a pumpkin pie for the dessert options.  My sister made the apple crumble and it was delish!

Then they went home.  My friend Margo texted me, asking if I could help her with some e-mail stuff for a contract job that she got, so that took a little time, then I went shopping to get some more cat food.  Now, I'm up in my bedroom on my computer ketchuping on all the posts.
