Well, you've read the notes, the notes were accumulated and junk, and now it is time for you to post until the accumulated cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ELUCIDATE!
-
First post after BK!
-
And a Very Happy Birthday to former DR Adriana Patti!
-
I wonder whatever happened to her. ???
-
Great picture in the notes, BK! That's pretty cool!
-
What happened to Adriana? She got married, and she's about to have a baby.
-
Hard to believe she was eighteen when I met her.
-

Congrats to Adriana!
-
Hard to believe she was eighteen when I met her.
As they say, "Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Saunders)."
-
I fixed the date of that Kritzerland show - it was actually our sixth show in February of 2011. Here's what I wrote about our future star in the notes after the show: Seventeen-year-old Ben Platt did a great job – very self-assured and a beautiful voice, but then he comes from very good stock – his father produced Wicked.
-
You knew him when!
;)
-
And now, it's time to sleep. And I'm sleeping in today. No plans other than the weekly family dinner today, but that'll be in the afternoon.
Have a good day, all!
-

Congrats to Adriana!!!
-
TOD: lots of favorite Ryan O'Neal performances, especially once I really started appreciating his ability (based on What's Up Doc?) and was prompted to revisit his other work with that in mind
-
Good morning, all!
-
I stayed up way too late to finish The Cat Who Are Danish Modern, but time, tide, and Annabelle and Thatch wait for no man, so they and the birds are now fed.
-
Thatch's jumping has improved as he gets older. He can now jump up to the computer table with Annabelle, so my life is double hell.
-
I must leave here around 10:15, giving myself plenty of time to wend my way to the East Village. At noon I am seeing The Great Cat Massacre at the Kraine theatre on East Fourth Streets at noon. It's directed by the daughter of a conductor friend of mine and DR Ginny's. If I'd realized it was all the way downtown, I'd have turned it down, but I like Ella and want to see her work. I'll take the crosstown bus to Lexington Ave, then take the subway to Astor Place, and then walk much further than I would like.
-
Good morning to all
-
Is the Alet Oury or was it Taylor by then?
-
T.O.D.
Ryan O'Neal?
None.
Historical Epics?
How far back?
I like THE LONGEST DAY, but perhaps that's too recent a period.
Also like EL CID.
-
We watched ROMAN J. ISRAEL, ESQ. last night.
Denzel Washington was excellent, but the film itself (i.e. the screenplay) had a lot of problems.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Had a solid sleep, but I do believe a truck ran over me at some point in the middle of the night.
-
Vixmom, what a great parking deal! I was going to take the train, but now I’m thinking it over. Decisions, decisions.
-
Either way, I guess we’ll just meet at the theater and decide where to go afterwards.
-
DR vixmom, I'm so sorry your evening was so grisly. I hope you and DR ChasSmith have a good time tomorrow.
-
Annabelle wanted to scout the halls this morning. I don't know if she's protecting the neighbors, hoping one of them will tell her how beautiful she is, or if she's just marking her territory. Once we were out in the hall and she was checking all the doors, we could hear Thatch crying at the top of his lungs to be our with us. I'm afraid with my bad leg I could never catch him of he were loose.
-
More coffee!
-
Yeah, I would be reluctant to introduce Thatch to hallway walks just yet!
-
Maybe walk him around in his carrier? I don’t know what those carriers are like.
-
Vixmom, what a great parking deal! I was going to take the train, but now I’m thinking it over. Decisions, decisions.
I used the ICON parking app. Found a $18 deal for that time period and then used the discount code BALL 10 for an additional 10% discount
The facility is quik park 390 garage LLC. Entrance is 62 east 54th

We watched ROMAN J. ISRAEL, ESQ. last night.
Denzel Washington was excellent, but the film itself (i.e. the screenplay) had a lot of problems.
He was.
It seemed a bit long and had issues, yet I liked the message. I was expecting it to be sad. Overall it was better than my expectations.
-
Had a solid sleep, but I do believe a truck ran over me at some point in the middle of the night.
I hate when that happens. Feel better.
-
Maybe walk him around in his carrier? I don’t know what those carriers are like.
Where Annabelle did not take to the collar he might accept one with a leash.
-
Maybe walk him around in his carrier? I don’t know what those carriers are like.

A leash could be a nice idea - for peace of mind, and with Thatch, especially - but you MUST put a harness on the cat and attach the leash to the harness. It can't go onto their necks, as with dogs. A cat collar is only for ID (and style, for those exceptionally vain cats). Very very important.
-
I was all full of great ideas for my first two girls back in 1990/91 -- I got the harnesses was determined to be able to walk them outside. I think one of them accepted the harness okay, and the other wouldn't, don't remember now. But even with the harness and leash, you still have to get them to accept being walked around.
(There were other brilliant ideas, too, such as: toilet training. Yes, toilet training. I actually got about halfway there with them, but that's a tough one and I finally abandoned it. It's not as totally insane as it sounds (google it), but man, it's a long road to success.)

Those were great ideas DR Chas.
-
Here's another great idea. Let's all go see BARRY LYNDON where I took this picture!
-
My upload of that a few years ago seems to be a popular one on the Cinema Treasures site.
http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/33/photos/21894
I should try to do a better scan of it now. It's a 35mm slide.

Saturday morning greetings! Easing into the day and gearing up for Michigan's semi-final tournament game against Michigan State at 2pm on CBS. After an early dinner here at home, Richard and I are going to Oxford for ice cream and a lecture.
-
Good morning.

Today's breakfast is yellow squash, bell peppers, onion, tomato rice, and black beans.

Yes, please.
-
I couldn't find my Schmidt and Jones CDs, so I'm listening to the latest few I never put away: Roadside and the Japanese tour of The Fantasticks, which has Schmidt at the piano.
-
I've only listened to the Japanese tour CD once so far, a year ago. I was amazed at how well he plays it. He takes a few liberties (which I believe would be his right) :) but it's a real lesson from the composer on how one should be having FUN playing the show.
-
Vixmom: I've decided to stick with the train tomorrow. I'm in the mood to leave the driving to them, and it's always such a great opportunity to get in some uninterrupted reading. I'll take the subway up to the York and see you there.
PS. I just put the tickets in my wallet. :D

I am anxious for DR ELMORE's report on the cat massacre.
-
Picking up mail vibes for MR BK.
Ben Platt - Tony Award Winner for Dear Evan Hanson...yes.
His older brother was on Jeopardy this week....he lost...and was very unhappy about it.
-
thanks for the suggestions DR TCB. FORTUNATELY, my brother came by and helped me with the 32" flatscreen that was still in my father's room.
He messed around with the connections I had made to the dvd player, and now it works! So I can take that one! I mentioned it to the head of the committee, and she thinks it's a good idea.
I still haven't told her that I'm not using her quote for the In Memoriam slide show. I'll do that sooner or later.
-
Page Three No Picture Dance.
-
Here's a page with a recap of Jonah's Platt's game.....it was a close loss, but he didn't shake anyone's hand or look at anybody else during the last few moments of the broadcast....he 's unhappy that people have taken him to task on the inner web for his behavior....

He is on the right in this photo.

He will appear in his father's....or rather NBC's broadcast of Jesus Christ Superstar on Easter......
Born on third base and hits a home run!

Nice pic.

It sounds good except for the squash, and maybe the peppers. I do not like green peppers.

Job well done brother who solved the tv problem.
Good luck telling her about the quote.

I'm up, I'm up - maybe a bit over eight hours of sleep.
-
Jonah Platt is a bit full of himself, at least that's the impression I get. He did one of the Sterling's talent things and got nowhere because - he wasn't that good. But he gets work because, well, not hard to figure out - he even directed some LA theater thing recently - small show. His brother, on the other hand, really has talent and we all knew it back then.
-
God news about your dad DR JOHN G.....not so great news from my father state of Kentucky.....
-
The officiating in the Michigan vs. Michigan St. game is leaving a lot to be desired....but it may just be my opinion.

Looks like Dad is going home today from the rehab center.
Great news. It has been a long time. Is something set for home care?

It is 45 degrees and sunny here. I am stuck inside not getting nearly enough accomplished.

Excellent question for DR Kevin. I liked that movie.
-
Thank you for the weather report DR Kevin.
-
Yes DR JANE - I lucked out when I asked him....he just moved a couple of wires around, and I have now marked them with tape and sharpie so I know where they go on both the T and V and the DVD machine.
-
Less good news about the child weddings
-

Full of himself or over compensating for an inferior complex. It can be difficult be the sibling of a more talented sibling if you have the same interests.
-
Jrand, perhaps you can be as surprised as everyone else when the slide with the quote doesn't screen
-
So today has not been going as planned
-
I do not remember "Barry Lyndon".
-
LOL DR VIXMOM - we shall see......
-
Yes DR JANE - I lucked out when I asked him....he just moved a couple of wires around, and I have now marked them with tape and sharpie so I know where they go on both the T and V and the DVD machine.
I was afraid to ask you if you would remember how to do it-lol. I hope the tape stays on.
-
So today has not been going as planned
Oh no!
-
We received ed a flyer in our mailbox Thursday night saying that the gas co was going to be moving our meter from inside the basement where it has happily lived for 62 years to live outside in the weather
-
And they announce it was to be done today. And if we didn't allow access to the house we would be cut iffy from the gas supply

EL CID - I second DR DRUXY's choice....the special edition DVD is very nice.

GONE WITH THE WIND
-
They said they would be here between 8 and 4
-
Have you allowed access yet?
-
Oh no...
-
At 745 there was a knock on the door and I let the very nice young man in and showed him the meter
-
Oh said he, we also need to remove that there pipe...

The one running behind 4 5 shelf shelving units full of..

I guess I'll have to give that movie another chance. I haven't seen it in over 20 years and as I recall I didn't think it was so good. (Just don't tell my friend Robin).
-
Looks like Dad is going home today from the rehab center.
Great news, DR John G!
-
Well I'll need a little time says I. Can you do the neighbor and then come back? (After all the flyer says they'll only need to be in the house fur about 20 minutes
-
So I unload the shelfing units, stacking every thing in and in front of the laundry room and go across the street and tell one of the guys that we're ready .
-
Then I go back home and wait
-
And wait
-
And wait
-
(methinks this could be quite a few posts...)
-
Vixdad had to leave for an appointment so off he goes
-
And I wait somemore
-
Finally I go across the street where they are digging up the whole street now and ask what time they are coming back
-
Coming back? Oh I'm well..
-
They weren't coming back..
I need to make another appointment
-
By now it was after 2 and i still had to go set up the church for the 5 pm service
-
So I leave the basement as is and go to church
-
Set everything up and just as I am finishing I take down one of the chalice needed for tomorrows 9 am service to see if it needs polishing..
It slips from my hand and hits the counter
-
And the cup separates from the stem
-
It's silver
-
So I drove to the local jeweler who is now trying to mend it
-
And i am sitting in Panera drowning my sorrows with an avocado turkey bacon on whole grain cranberry walnut bread 1/2 sandwich and a cup of chicken and wild rice soup
-
And a mug of hot choclate
-
I have to be back at the jeweler in 20 minutes to see if he was able to mend the chalice
-
Then go home and out every thing back on the shelves
-
Chas, I cannot tell you how much i am looking forward to tomorrow
-
BK do you have a CD of Subways are for sleeping that I can buy?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Laundry is done for today. I don't know how it got to be 1 pm, though.
-
It is a beautiful day here. The sky cleared, the sun came out, and it's cool but lovely. Maybe 54 or so, surprisingly not far from DR Kevin's temps.
-
And they announce it was to be done today. And if we didn't allow access to the house we would be cut iffy from the gas supply
Is this short notice legal?
-
Had a solid sleep, but I do believe a truck ran over me at some point in the middle of the night.
Wow, he must have been going fast to get us both in one night.

A friend had a dog who would use the shower to do his business. Don't recall if the dog needed much training.

Vixmom's tale reminded me of this old favorite:
A doctor calls the plumber. When he sees the bill, he says, "Good lord, this is for more than I make in a day!"
The plumber responds, "I know, it was the same for me when I was a doctor."
-
I need some lunch.

I have the SAFS LP.....but I don't think I have the CD....probably the LP will suffice for me.

Well Michigan won over Michigan State....and now Purdue is playing Penn St.
I would like for one Indiana team to be in the finals tomorrow....so we shall see.
Michigan has a couple of players I just do NOT like.....loud mouths.....but what can you do.....

LOL DR JEANNE!

BK's CD has good liner notes by Peter Filichia and good bonus tracks. (Just sayin' :) )

How is Miss Annabelle's breathing today?
It's not as noisy as yesterday, but there's been a bit of sneezing today. As soon as my tax return is in, she's getting the needed dental work and we hope that will clear up some things.
-
I am home after a long day out. After the show, Ella's husband was off to the matinee of FROZEN, where he's assistant director, and Ella and I went to lunch. For three hours!
-
The Great Cat Massacre is taken from a section of this book. The author is seeing the show tomorrow. I liked much of the score and the cast. The script is still trying to find its tone and approach for 20th century audiences about an incident that was considered a bit of fun and exhibition of hatred toward employers in 18th century France.
-

So the good news is the jeweler fixed the chalice
And it was only $38 with tax
-
And the pastor insisted I submit the bill fur reimbursement

The best news of all is that Vixter called. She and Her fiancée looked at our timeshare today and love it for the wedding venue. The day is fixed 6/29/2019

I am very pleased and excited
-
Vixmom, yes I do.
Thank you! Can you please message me the amount and I'll PayPal

Good date!
And a fur reimbursement sounds like something Annabelle would like.
That sounds like a lot fun.
Thanks DR CHAS SMITH....it might be too much of a good thing for me.....a little of that leading lady goes A LONG way with me....she and Eydie Gorme were the bane of my variety/talk show viewing experience in my youth..... Gorme's fake laugh was particularly annoying.

Penn St and Michigan tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. EST on CBS. I have a feeling DR GINNY and I will be sitting on opposite sides of Madison Square Garden.

I knew you had a place to stay, just not that you owned it. It certainly has turned out to be the best place for you to have a timeshare :)

I did some spring planting today. Put in a dozen pepper plants, various squashes, and one tomato (I’ve never had luck with tomatoes, so one is all I’ll risk).
Earlier in the week, I planted two cucumbers and one tomatillo.

While I was planting, I got about eight fire ant bites on my wrist. Cortisone cream has helped.

It started raining as I was planting, so they’re getting a good welcome to their new home.

I did some spring planting today. Put in a dozen pepper plants, various squashes, and one tomato (I’ve never had luck with tomatoes, so one is all I’ll risk).
Earlier in the week, I planted two cucumbers and one tomatillo.
They're talking possible snow mid next week
You can have it. How’s the basement?

Mark Rylance is amazing in Dunkirk.
-
Good night, all.
-
DR Vixmom, how many times a year do you get to stay at your Florida timeshare? My understanding about timeshares is that you need to reserves dates for your place or that you can trade for other locations.
-
Goodnight DR John.
-
Mark Rylance is amazing in Dunkirk.
Yes.
-
Page seven? Really?
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Made a visit to Ralph's to get some stuff so I can eat here for the next few days.
-
We've been on this page for four hours?
-
And we're still on this page.

Someone is gaslighting HHW.
-
Looks like Dad is going home today from the rehab center.
Great news, John!

My home state of Kentucky is doing itself proud once again.

That's terrible. >:(

I looked up Jonah Platt on Google images and just looking at his pictures (even as attractive as he is), I had a feeling that he might be full of himself. ::)
;)

Good evening.

Hi, George.
-
I guess we are required to get off this page.
-
John, good news about your father.

TOD:
What's Up, Doc? (surprise, surprise)
Paper Moon
But not The MainEvent?
I guess I'll have to give that movie another chance. I haven't seen it in over 20 years and as I recall I didn't think it was so good. (Just don't tell my friend Robin).
What about your friend, TCB? I love that movie.
-
Hi, Tom.

TOD:

Paper Moon

Excellent question for DR Kevin. I liked that movie.
As did I! Granted, it's been years since I've seen it, so who knows how I'd feel about it today. Although, I still do love the title song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaz-5VhDRTc). :D
-
And What's Up, Doc? and Paper Moon are the only other Ryan O'Neal films on my list.
-
T.O.D.
Ryan’s films:
WHAT’S UP DOC??
PAPER MOON
THE MAIN EVENT
I can’t like BARRY LYNDON.

Tonight I listened to THE FANTASTICKS for Harvey Schmidt, and the new FOLLIES for Jan Maxwell.
-
BK do you have a CD of Subways are for sleeping that I can buy?
Have we linked this article from BroadwayWorld on SUBWAYS AE FOR SLEEPING, Phyllis Newman interviewed by Harry Haun?

Nice article.

David Ogden Stiers has passed away.

I'd read about that earlier today. :(
-
Mark Rylance is amazing in Dunkirk.
Yes.
I agree, too.
-
The version of THE FANTASTICKS that I listened to tonight was the digital version that I have on my iPad. It has the black cover, and it is the original cast recording, but it doesn’t contain the song, “Much More.” I wonder why that would be?
-
If they were cutting something for time, I would think they would cut the “Rape Ballet.”

I wonder if the one track somehow got deleted. According to the Cast Albums database listing (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Fantasticks-The-1960-Off-Broadway-Cast/1306/), the CD releases have the track. The TER listing at the bottom doesn't indicate tracks, but the Amazon listing (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004S2JC/) for that release does. And it shows that that recording has the track. :-\

It doesn’t list it on the list of songs.
-
Well, that is weird. The listing goes:
1. Overture
2. Try To Remember
4. Metaphor
I never noticed that before.

Very strange!

I want my money back! Except I think I downloaded it from Amazon for free.
-
I don't know where my copy is, otherwise I'd send you the track.
