Well, you've read the notes, the notes were approved, and now it is time for you to post until the approved cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DEASIL!
-
Very happy to hear George is reading GEE and very anxious to know how he feels about it once he's finished.
-
First post after BK!

In the morning, I need to bring my car to the shop...AGAIN! I brought it in on Monday because the temperature gauge didn't seem to be working, and after driving around for three days, it's still not working. I stopped in during my lunch time yesterday, and they said that I could bring it in this morning. HOPEFULLY, it won't be something that costs more than what I already paid. :-\
-
And now, it's time for bed.
Good night and have a good day, all!
-
TOD: Aren't all of Woody Allen's highly praised films suposed to be deleted from our memories, as seems in this discussion in this article in the Times?

TCB - can we have more ranting about the waitress from last night's posts, please!

I need details.

Good morning, all.

Well, to say we have some work cut out for us here would be an understatement of the highest (or is it lowest?) order.

Good morning, all.

The lads are eating, I am coffeeing and checking in here, and I am truly grateful that nothing untoward or unseemly, to the best of my knowledge, happened here as a result of the storm. A great many people cannot say that this morning.
-
I have actually been on something of a Woody Allen kick recently, but there are still a number of his later films I have yet to ketchup on.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I think Annabelle has another respiratory infection and I will make an appointment for her today. I think the complication is this blasted sneezing situation that I thought might be a polyp. She's active, she's jumping about, but she's not eating because she cannot smell. Oy!
-
Respiratory vibes for the lady!
-
Thatch is crazy about Da Bird, DR Laura. This morning he was leaping about so much to get to it that he jumped all over his water bowl and I'm waiting for the mess to dry.
-
Around noon I must head down to City Center to see Joshie about Me and My Girl. It should be a fun visit, and I need to get some work finished before I go.
-
Just spent 11/2 hours clearing very heavy snow

I called Annabelle's vet. She is not in until Monday, so I need to keep an eye on her.

And in the best news I read this morning, gin and tonics are said to stop hay fever. Hallelujah.

I've liked his serious movies too, but I can't remember the names of any of them.

Just spent 11/2 hours clearing very heavy snow
I read that as eleven and a half hours.
-
Be careful of falling tree limbs Charles the snow is very heavy
Absolutely. Very careful, especially seeing as how we had to right a few trees that were bent over with snow and blocking the driveway. I only got hit with a couple of falling snowballs.
-
And in the best news I read this morning, gin and tonics are said to stop hay fever. Hallelujah.
Praise the Lord!

Anyway, I am back from my labors and all I have to say is: oh. my. god.
I could describe it all, but I haven’t the strength. I’m getting in some recliner time, sipping a Coke Zero with lime. That’s about all I can manage for a while.
-
DRs Vixmom, ChasSmith, and anyone else who's shoveling snow today - please be careful! Especially if you have cardiac issues...

Eggggg-zactly.

Well deserved honor.
Sadly, when I did a thorough look at all the stuff from my parents' Brooklyn place when they moved out, I found nothing from my Lucy Van Pelt at Camp Loyaltown, not even a program
-
That's a nice link DR GINNY.....

Good morning.

It is still morning here.

I'm glad Thatch likes the Da Bird. Joshie played with his even at 15 years old.

I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.

Thanks, Jane. If the correct fix costs more than what I already paid, it would be great if they deducted what I already paid, but at the least I'm hoping that they just fix it correctly and don't charge me anything more.

Very lucky milestone ahead, George
-
I upped my fitbit goal to 20,000 steps. If I walked as much as Jane does, I'd be thin like she is.
Maybe.
Probably not.

Very lucky milestone ahead, George
Yes, but has anyone ever captured 77777? George has a chance at it now!

I have captured some five-of-the-same-digit numbers in the past. That's pretty cool, too.
-
I'm now listening to the Sherman Brothers' soundtrack to E.B. White's Charlotte's Web (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078F9KHTV/). I don't know if I've heard the whole thing. So far, it's delightfully delightful!
-
I've captured a few decent numbers on this car. The first two happened in the middle of a trip to Ohio. I had to pull into a mall parking lot in Harrisburg so as to have just enough space to circle around till I hit my number.
-
This one happened in Provincetown. Kristi was attending a writer's week at the Norman Mailer house, and I drove around P-town till I hit it.
-
Here's the latest one. I'm very sorry to say I missed the big 200,000. I'd known it was coming, but the day I should have been alert for it, I totally forgot.
-
Aren't you all THRILLED to have re-lived those millstones with me?

Difficult morning, hoping afternoon will be better. One of our singers can't come due to illness - hopefully she'll be fine on Saturday.

Whoa! Why, they're practically ... twins!
-
Sitting in the theatre waiting for Hamlet to begin
-
Yes, I am texting on my phone in the theatre
-
But I am in the last row. And there is no else in my row
-
In fact the only other people in the theatre are the 2 people sitting 2 rows in front of me
-
I must say I do enjoy the reserved seats, wide aisles, and leather recliners
-
It's worth the $19 price tag
-
Unless I use the occasion to take a nap
-
Which I profoundly hope I do not
-
Congratulations to George on his lofty New plateau
-
Thank you Chad and George for assuring me that I am not the only one to take pictures of my odometer

Well, I need to leave work now. I'm going to go shopping with my sister because she hates to go alone...and I guess no one else can go with her tonight. ::)

BK. I hate to be a complainer but Gee hasn't arrived here yet
-
I should have snuck a sandwich in with me
-
I refuse to pay the exorbitant prices for the concession food. But the people two rows ahead brought in a dumpster of popcorn and the smell of it has my tummy growling

I predict a visit to Taco Bell in my near future

3 minutes to act 2

Or maybe it's that cursed deodorant again....

Somehow it's seems less luxurious to be all alone at HHW

I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait...

Fun second rehearsal and fun dinner at Casa Vega and I got a book report on GEE from twelve-year-old Peyton - it is now her favorite book - supplanting the Kritzer books. Now lest you think this is a one-off thing, this kid reads ten to fifteen books a year, sometimes more. And she was very detailed about what she loved - quoting dialogue, sequences - it made her cry and it made her laugh, and it was all delightful to hear. I told her to write an Amazon review :)
-
Vibes for BK’s singer.
-
Five!
-
Margaret Atwood was wonderful. She read from Alias Grace and The Handmaid’s Tale. She then talked for an hour on everything from adaptations to writing tips.
-
Great event for International Women’s Day.
-
The organization of the event left a lot to be desired. They sold out of books long before we got near the booth and she would only sign books sold there. (I have an autographed copy of Oryx and Crake from her last visit here.) also, they said they had given out so many tickets that there was going to be a simulcast next door. But there were hundreds of empty seats.
-
I upped my fitbit goal to 20,000 steps. If I walked as much as Jane does, I'd be thin like she is.

Probably not.
I still have mine set for 10,000 steps. Good luck reaching your daily goal. Sometimes I take 3 walks to reach it or do a lot of marching around inside.
-
Aren't you all THRILLED to have re-lived those millstones with me?
I am impressed you actually captured them.

More impressive captures from DR George ;D

Little Peyton posted her review - so sweet, but if you want the title and its meaning to be a surprise don't read it until you get the book. :)

It is supposed to get up to 65 degrees on Sunday!!
-
Sorry East Coasters.

So tonight, I went shopping with my sister. We first went to Costco, initially just to look around, but then on a whim, I decided to get a new TV. They had a 49" LED TV for only $299.99 (plus tax)! I bought it for my bedroom because even though I have a working TV up there, it's only (only ;) ) a 27" CRT TV and very heavy, and $299.99 (plus tax) is a great price. Also, I just wanted a new TV...so I bought it.

After buying my TV at Costco, my sister and I went to Fred Meyer to get some groceries. Our cousin from Oregon and is wife are coming up on Saturday to visit (they'll stay with my sister), and also because on Monday, he has a job interview in Kent, which is just south of Seattle. My sister wanted to get enough food for them and our weeky family dinner and I got a few things for myself. But what's really...interesting, is that the cost of all the groceries was exactly 17 cents more than the cost of my new TV! :o
