DR vixmom, yes the bookcases are bolted to the walls. When the one wall of shelves collapsed in 2004, because they were not bolted to the wall, I hired the wonderful George Hardy, who had a shop in the basement of our building, to repair and bolt.

George has retired since 2013 or so, and I miss seeing him around the building. His shop is now a large empty space that was used by the elevator crew to store their equipment. They moved out last Monday.

Netflix delivered Roseland last night. It’s a Merchant-Ivory that I somehow missed. It’s not a great film (I watched the first 45 minutes or so last night), but the cast is intriguing: Teresa Wright, Helen Gallagher, a young Christopher Walken, Joan Copeland and Lou Jacobi.
I also have the rest of Eisenstein’s Strike.

Annabelle is tossing things off the shelf again. This morning, she tossed my Mickey Mouse watch needing a new battery. I think it's fine but the crystal has vanished. I'll take it to the jeweler tomorrow to get the new battery and hopefully a crystal.

Thank you for the thoughts about my hand. My hand is just bruised -- the spot between the thumb and the wrist. My knee is sore also -- it hurt whenever I rolled over last night.

I was planning to watch my DVD of THE SHAPE OF WATER, but since Amazon sent me a defective copy, I guess I'll have to watch some stuff I've got recorded.

You could read the Paul Zindel play they're being sued about, in preparation.
I just called Amazon again. Told them I was pissed that it was going to take 2-3 weeks to get a replacement. They were out of stock for the DVD.
They offered to give me a Blu-Ray for the same price and ship for tomorrow delivery, and I accepted.
Pays to be the squeaky wheel.

Due to playing a show this weekend, it's the first St. Patrick's Day in many years that I won't be able to enjoy the meal on the actual day.
In a little while I'll go out to pick up the supplies, then cook them tomorrow morning and afternoon. I think we all have things going on this weekend, so whoever gets to heat some up, and whenever, that's the way it shall be. Me, I'm planning on Sunday evening after closing the show.

I watched an interesting little film yesterday, that I somehow missed when it was released in 2013. The film is called PARKLAND, and it stars Zac Efron, Colin Hanks, Marcia Gay Harden, Billy Bob Thornton, and Paul Giamatti as Abraham Zapruder. It was okay.

I am meeting my sister and brother-in-law for lunch today.

We are meeting at a place called the Westgate Inn. It was originally built back in 1971 by my sister's father-in-law and it was called Little Jim's Pub. My brother-in-law is Little Jim. All three of us worked there at one time or another. I bartended there, but only after my sister's in-laws had already sold the place.

Listening to some pretty music right now by a composer I know little about but am fond of - I don't even remember why I got the CD I had but it was in iTunes and I played it and remembered how delightful it was - may have been a recommendation - so I'm now listening to his violin concerto and enjoying it tremendously. Composer is Frederic d'Erlanger. Whilst writing GEE I listened to about sixty violin concertos and sonatas, maybe more - the reason will become evident when folks read it.

My St Pattys lunch came out really well There's a picture on FB...I can't shrink it so it fits here

It was the easiest recipe ever

I put the meat in the crock pot, added 3 pound of tiny red and white potatoes, a pound of baby carrots, the spice packet from the meat and 2 bottles of beer. Then I put it on low and went to bed

Horrible seats at a little table facing sideways, 2nd to the back row.

This morning I sliced up a head of cabbage and put it in a couple of gallon size bags , then ipavmed up the crockpot and my elen tric skillet and headed out to work

When I gig to the office I transferred The carrots and taters into the skillet, added some of the pot liquid and covered it, and turned it to warm.
I added the cabbage to the meat I the crock pot.

I did not expect to be sitting at a little kitchen table, sure hope the show is good. Keith did this for me.

Around an hour later the cabbage had cooked down a lit, I lowered the crockpot to warm

I wish I had worn more comfortable clothes.

One of my coworkers brought some really nice soda bread and a container of that really nice Irish butter

And at 12:30 we sat down and everything g was perfect

This year I used the corned beef brisket and I liked it much better than the corned beef round I used last year

Back from a good opening (the first of the three public performances - yesterday's was for area schools).

I love hearing about other people's corned beef(s). Mine cooks tomorrow morning and afternoon. I know I should try the crock pot instead of doing it on the stove, but since I didn't plan for that it ain't happening now. It'll all get cooked at the somewhat higher temperature during the day. In fact, if I play my cards right, I can have some before leaving for tomorrow night's show.

So the previous owners didn't have accessible bathrooms and the new owners don't yet, either?
