So, they're fed (flaked tuna), the birds are fed, andI'm on my first cuppa coffee. I think Annabelle is bored with the birds, but Thatch's enthusiasm for them runs at a manic gallop. She's happier now tossing things off shelves, and his giddiness running from the cat tree to the leap from the radiator to the window to examine their behavior is too cute for words.

The summer of 1968, I worked the Miami University summer theatre program before I became a graduate assistant in September. One day a tall lanky blonde started working in publicity and the box office. She had just graduated from St Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute IN, married a student in the Miami University architecture program - which was a 5-year program - and the director of theatre offered her an assistantship for the fall. I liked her enormously.

One of the past summer shows was In White America, and the scene designer Bill Rappel was one of the cast. The In White America photo in the lobby with other previous summer show photos showed every cast member but Bill, and he started bugging Pam about this. "You'll never get your degree until you hang my photo," he warned her daily.

Then, one afternoon in our first year as grad assistants, we heard a loud scream and a long laugh from the men's room. It was Bill Rappel. He had gone into a toilet stall, closed the door, and saw his cast photo taped to the inside of the door with the note: NOW DO I GET MY DEGREE?

At that moment I fell headlong in love with Pam Hollenbeck, who passed away on Friday. I will love her forever.

We drove up that day and met with everyone for lunch. We had an enjoyable evening watching DR George in The Physician in Spite of Himself.

The following day we met DR George for lunch and then the 3 of us enjoyed the afternoon performance of It's a Wonderful Life with a terrific performance by that guy playing Potter.

The sons of two of my good friends were there, so I had 2 20 something men, one 6'3 the other 6'5" escorting me as well as the 6'2" playwright so I was well guarded. I drove them all home as they had all come by train

Well, Sharry was right (as always). I can't believe it has been that long ago.

I didn't think it was that long. We just might be able to do something in April but I can't plan anything until I know.

We had a nice lunch at Panera on the way home, made a Walgreen's stop, and got panhandled on the way to our car. It's getting so you can't go anywhere without that happening.

The four guys in the discussion room after the game were wondering why the Florida coach didn't have his team foul during the last 10 seconds of the game.....so they told the little gal who did the interviews to ask him.

He looked at her like she was a worm in his applesauce and proceeded to dress her down and condescend to her barely containing his rage....finally she said that the guys in the center had wanted to know, so she asked him again....it was most uncomfortable - but she stood her ground. He NEVER did answer what was a simple question....

The guys back in the discussion room - half of them took up for his rudeness and the other half said....."He should have fouled to get the ball....."

It was most uncomfortable and unnecessary.

The summer of 1968, I worked the Miami University summer theatre program before I became a graduate assistant in September. One day a tall lanky blonde started working in publicity and the box office. She had just graduated from St Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute IN, married a student in the Miami University architecture program - which was a 5-year program - and the director of theatre offered her an assistantship for the fall. I liked her enormously.

One of the past summer shows was In White America, and the scene designer Bill Rappel was one of the cast. The In White America photo in the lobby with other previous summer show photos showed every cast member but Bill, and he started bugging Pam about this. "You'll never get your degree until you hang my photo," he warned her daily.

Then, one afternoon in our first year as grad assistants, we heard a loud scream and a long laugh from the men's room. It was Bill Rappel. He had gone into a toilet stall, closed the door, and saw his cast photo taped to the inside of the door with the note: NOW DO I GET MY DEGREE?

DR TCB, we met at Hawk's Prairie on December 3, 2016.

We drove up that day and met with everyone for lunch. We had an enjoyable evening watching DR George in The Physician in Spite of Himself.

The following day we met DR George for lunch and then the 3 of us enjoyed the afternoon performance of It's a Wonderful Life with a terrific performance by that guy playing Potter.

That was all a lot of fun!

After the final final futzing, I was watching it for proofing - up came the slide of our Freshman Basketball Team - it looked great, except underneath it I had written - Our Freshman Football Team....

Not in THOSE uniforms.....I had to go back to the drawing board....but better seen at my house than at the REUNION!!

A sad thing was a memorial service for a friend. She died two months ago. She had early onset Alzheimer's, so her passing was a blessing.

I guess. Today at my parents' house, we had lasagna, which also has more carbs than I should have, but I didn't have half the pan, like I would've had before.
