Well, you've read the notes, the notes kept the doctor away, and now it is time for you to post until the singing cows come home from the doctor's.
-
And the word of the day is: PETRICHOR!
-
PAGE ONE DANCE!!
-
;)
-
Glad your Kritzerland rehearsal last night went so well, BK. Can't wait to read about the actual performance!
-
And now, I need to be going. My tablet's battery is almost dead, so I might as well go to sleep.
Have a good day, all!
-
It seems I only had a little nap.
-
DR TCB thank you for the link... WOW!
While watching the pride of lions we were very aware of being just an easy leap away.
While the big elephant did not jump into the truck it could easily have attacked us. I concentrated on sending a message of good will and respect to the elephant which seemed to work.
A part of me is envious of their experience. We never saw a cheetah.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I went to bed quite early. My past three days have been morning appointments and I was exhausted. My sleeping patterns were screwed up and I hope I've worked everything out.
-
Today is a home day. At some point I will talk to Joshie, but I need to tidy, vacuum, deal with the litter, possibly do laundry, and get into the last numbers of Me & My Girl.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Last night I received the news that today's orchestra rehearsal is cancelled...news that could not have been more welcome. I'm not due back there till Wednesday, so this blesses me with the kickoff to a beautiful string of six (mostly-) ME days.
-
Good morning.
-
Woo hoo! It's Friday!!!
-
Woo hoo! It's Friday!!!
Blah! Blah! Blah! Thursday.
-
Happy Maundy Thursday, y’all.

Anybody here read Kristin Hannah? I’ve started The Nightingale. I’m not sure I like it.
-
TOD 1:
Spacey:
The Ref, but I’m not at a place where I want to watch him even in one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies.
-
Tonight is the Fur Ball, a fundraiser for the Animal Defense League.
-
I thought "The Nightingale" was wonderful. I don't remember if I felt that way right from the beginning or not.
I was not thrilled with "Firefly Lane".
"The Great Alone" is my book club's April read.

Spacey:
The Ref, but I’m not at a place where I want to watch him even in one of my all-time favorite Christmas movies.
I love "The Ref," but I've known about Mr Spacey's closeted behavior - along with others homo and hetero I will not mention although I'm surprised they haven't been outed yet - for what seems eons.
-

Excellent! If Moonshine and Mistletoe ever gets off the ground and makes some money, I'd like to give the royalties when I die to animal rescue.
-
I think my time clock is off.
-
Nope, it is correct.
-
Thinking I had fallen back to sleep for more than a short doze is why I tested it.
-
Last night we watched Victoria & Abdul. I don't recall seeing Mrs. Brown. Should we watch it?
-
I watched the new MY COUSIN RACHEL - I liked it better this time. I may have to buy the DeeVeeDee or BluRay.
-
We are having LOTS of rain today - which is okay.
I also found out why the local mailbox stuffer newspaper had NOT been publishing our submitted photos and articles - the woman in charge thought that we were a for profit entity....."But you CHARGE for tickets!"
She apologized and said of course they will publish our submitted items.....
-
Last night we watched Victoria & Abdul. I don't recall seeing Mrs. Brown. Should we watch it?
Absolutely.

The laundry is in the dryers, about ready to come out. The place is vacuumed and O', ready for Encores! work.

Thanks to the truly demented wife beater on the fourth floor, his toilet flush mechanism went bananas last night, flooded his apartment and at 2:00am the ceiling of my neighbor Jaymie collapsed. Why the idiot on four did not contact Val as soon as the problem began is beyond any of us. when Annabelle and I did our patrol this morning, we saw all the bags of trash outside Jaymie's apartment and stopped in to say hello. Val and Jaymie were working away; they've both been working since 2:00, but stopped long enough to say hello, let Annabelle jump all over both of them - she loves Val - and then inspect the wreckage. Jaymie carried her out of the bathtub and she wanted to stay longer.
Annabelle wants to go back and I cannot convince her we're not needed.

Thursday morning greetings! A rainy day in SW Ohio and I'd love to stay in all day to read and putter. However, a small Easter Day gathering here has materialized this week, so Richard and I have to grocery shop today. Then we have to go to a Maundy Thursday dinner at the church in Dayton where he's delivering the sermon at this evening's service.
-
vixmom - Was there any report on why that co-worker left in such a huff?

Oh my god. I only had one apartment in which this ever happened, and fortunately it was just the ceiling over my bathtub due to the girl's bathtub upstairs having runneth over.

Larry, is your description of that neighbor confirmed, or just suspicion?

Larry, is your description of that neighbor confirmed, or just suspicion?
Right. I also wondered if it had anything to do with his casual attire. :)

Is there a water shut off at your toilets?
-
Larry, is your description of that neighbor confirmed, or just suspicion?
She and her son left him over 30 years ago. Everyone in the building knew. We all suspect as well that he's the one who spray painted FAGGOTS and HOMOS on the door of his neighbors on four.

Laundry is put away, and I'm spending the remainder of my tax refund paying off my union dues and other bills.

Good morning / afternoon.

We have sunshine here in the great Northwest.

We aren't going to set any temperature records; but, at least, it is dry.

Did anyone else watch the hour-long commercial for JESUS CHRIST, SUPERSTAR? I mean, the ALW tribute special.

:o Fortunately, the only time something like this happened to me was when I was living in Lacey, the first time on my own and not in college. The apartment above me had a leaking kitchen sink or dishwasher or something and there was a slow leak. The paint on my kitchen ceiling was acrylic and a water bubble appeared in my ceiling! The management sent someone to drain it after they quickly fixed the leak from above. All they had to do was poke a hold and let it drain, then they cut out the paint and let it all dry. They repainted and it was all good.

So, my favorite singing group in the world is The Manhattan Transfer! Tomorrow, they're releasing their first CD in almost 10, count 'em, 10 years, but Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B079J855TP) sent it early and I just got it today! :D

I've listened to half of it, and it's wonderful!

Page three? Really?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Jane, you didn't mention whether you liked VICTORIA & ABDUL. Should I assume that you did and that is why you're thinking about MRS BROWN?
I enjoyed both, but I think I liked V&A better. Of course, it's been a long time since I saw MRS BROWN.
-
I've been trying to take care of several to-do list items, but at a comfortable pace. That's my compromise between getting things done and taking some Me time.
-
I went to lunch today at a restaurant I hadn't been to in a while. They serve a very nice mesclun/quinoa salad. I'd like to go there more often, but parking is difficult. I think I found an area today where I'm more likely to find a space.

This morning I called a company I do business with in Virginia. I've had quite a few billing problems with them. A few weeks ago I asked--again--for emails of my invoices. I was sent one, but it wasn't mine. That problem was taken care of, but then last week there was a new problem. I didn't want to call the person in charge of my account because she was just so lax a few weeks ago. Today I called her supervisor. I didn't mention any names, just said there had been a number of billing problems. It really hasn't been just one person; it's been one after another. We straightened things out and she admitted that they've had a lot of turnover. I'm not surprised: it's sooo prevalent. I told her I'd like to call HER, the supervisor, in the future. She was fine with that. After we got off the phone she checked the files more closely and saw that what I'd told her was perfectly true, then sent me an email explaining one of the mix-ups. They'd misfiled some information. She was very apologetic. I now have a point of contact there who is reliable and who knows her job. I do not want to deal with the endless parade of entry-level folks who either don't know how to do their jobs or don't care about doing it right. And the supervisor is perhaps more aware of the problems of those serving under her.

Re: Vixmom's former co-worker, I can easily understand how someone in that office could walk off the job. I imagine the co-worker had felt lots of pressure to work long hours and was at the end of her professional rope. Very unfair to her co-workers, yes, but I can see how it could happen.
Vibes that Vixmom's office soon has a new, bright, and dedicated employee.

George, I didn't recognize any of the song titles. How would you describe them?
They're all tight jazz chords. Some are up-tempo, and there are a couple of ballads. The title song, "The Junction," is a new song, but it quotes their previous hit "Tuxedo Junction" in some of the background vocals. I love this new song!

One does wonder if darling Jane will ever go back to the book she started on Monday, which she has not read a word of since Tuesday? One does wonder.
-
Well, I listened to TMT's CD twice and it's great! I'm so glad that they're recording again. They never really stopped performing, just took a few breaks, but last year I did see them in concert with Trist Curless (their new bass singer). They were very good then, too.
-
And now, it's time to leave work and go home.
Until later.
-
The coworker was not one to work late, or come in early, she felt hard put upon if she had to stay and extra 15 or 20 minutes to get something done because she was not being paid, she however had no problem with sitting and chatting with someone for 20 minutes or texting or taking long personal calls when she was being paid
-
She had been asked to do a particular task and she hadn't done it because she felt it wasn't important and indeed spent more time complaining about the task than it would have taken to do it
-
The boss sent her an email giving her a deadline to get it done but it was not the most diplomaticaly worded missive
We knew she was unhappy and thinking about moving on and I have no problem with her quitting, even with no notice ... But the boss was out of the office and not expected back for several hours She could have told us her intentions and given us a quick rundown on the files on her desk before walking out
I am not angry that she quit, I am angry she snuck out
-
And she will not be replaced
-
I split the files scheduled for closings even,y between my remaining coworker and myself and all the pending file I gave to the other coworker (since my caseload is greater than the 2 of theirs combined)
-
We'll see how it goes
-
If betters news we had a Seder at church tonight led by a representative of Jews for Jesus... After that we went into the church and knelt while the altar wa stripped

Not sure if I want to watch anything this night.

I see that Vixmom's former co-worker wasn't much of a loss, but I'm sorry she won't be replaced.

Good night.

I gotta tell you.

I did go to the Fur Ball, which raised huge sums for the Animal Defense League. I did buy a metal kitty for the garden to go with the dog I bought last year. I also bought some booze. Get liquored for strays.
I wouldn't mind getting liquored for strays ;D
Will there be photos of your metal pets?

So, my favorite singing group in the world is The Manhattan Transfer! Tomorrow, they're releasing their first CD in almost 10, count 'em, 10 years, but Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B079J855TP) sent it early and I just got it today! :D
Amazon knows a good customer when they see one.
Jeanne (and anyone else who's interested), if you want to hear four complete songs from the CD, here are some links:

I did eat a cheese sandwich this evening. I felt bad for the cheese but someone had to do it.

Cheese is yummy! It was made to be eaten.
