Well, you've read the notes, the notes played their cross-hand piece, and now it is time for you to post until the cross-hand cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RECTITUDE!
-
And a very happy birthday to former dear reader Ann, wherever she may be.
-
First post after BK.
-
One year ago today, SECOND SAMUEL was performed for the last time by our lovely company. We went out in a blaze of glory!
-
And now I must figure out whether or not I enjoyed JESUS CHRIST, SUPERSTAR. So, good night.
-
First post after TCB!
-
Right now, Jimmy Carter is on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
-
It's very exciting to hear about more show releases this year! Can't wait to find out what they are!
-
BK, I wish you gave hints.
;)
-
And now, I'm off to bed. I get to sleep in, and the only plans I have today are to watch some TV and do some laundry.
Have a good day, all!
-
good morning to all
-
Good morning, all.
-
A bit early for a Saturday, but I’ve got things to do, places to go, people to see.
-
Sounds crazy, no?
-
Good morning
TOD
"Loose" when they mean "lose"
"Me and her" instead of "she and I"
And the two that drive me right up the wall and are said several times a day, every day, by a woman in my office : " I seen that". It's "saw", Sandy!!!!
"I goed" ... "Goed" !!! It's not even a word!!!!! You "went" !!!
-
A bit early for a Saturday, but I’ve got things to do, places to go, people to see.
Will you be stopping by to replace my driver's side windshield wiper, which self destructed on the way home, yesterday?
-
I wasn't planning to be up so early myself but Nature called. I told her I was sleeping and comfy but she threatened me with dire consequences if I did not do her bidding
-
“Your” when they mean “you’re”.
(I think all the contractions are regularly botched nowadays.)
“Myself” instead of the correct “I” or “me”.
And very likely at the top of my list, our national “loose” disaster that vixmom beat me to.
-
Darn Nature

And there is a man, a well educated man, I correspond with on a daily basis for business, who always uses "there" for "their" . I intentionally respond every time with the correct spelling, hoping he'll pick up on it; but it's been twelve plus years and he hasn't yet.
-
As I once explained to someone. You lose weight, you lose keys , you loose the hounds
-
The handrail is loose, did you lose a screw?
-
Good morning, all!
-
Ok maybe that one drives me crazier than all the rest
-
Sorry, not you Elmore
-
DR George, I loved the photo of you and DR TCB. I wish it were a little lighter, but you two seem to be having a good time together.
-
Sorry, not you Elmore
I'm used to driving people crazy, DR vixmom!
-
DR TCB, maybe those suicidal kitties were hoping you'd stop the car, scoop them up, and take them them home with you?
-
Annabelle's deeply congested. It might be another respiratory infection, but she might have inhaled too much crap in the wreckage of Jaymie's bathroom two days ago. I hope I can get her to the vet today.

"There/their/they're" ranks right up there with "your/you're" and "loose/lose". And never mind just the kids today. It's as though an entire population of boomers has willingly tossed their second grade education out the window. It's disgusting.
-
As I once explained to someone. You lose weight, you lose keys , you loose the hounds
You can't LOSE if you stay LOOSE as a GOOSE.

Oh no. I hope they can pin down, and soon, what bothers her so. Is she hacking or coughing, or is this just something in her breathing? It's sounding to me like she's got a little of what Poe's got. X-rays showed it to be some asthma, which was making him cough, not wheeze like a person -- for which he's now on a steroid. But he developed this as an adult cat.
-
I'll be sure to ask on Wednesday (while not asking Wednesday, if you catch my drift) if I MAY play my cross-hand piece.
-
TOD:
I've worked with an enormously gifted collaborator who would routinely write "loose" for "lose" and "waive" for "wave" - and must have thought they were correct because when I fixed the spelling, the words got changed back when the script got volleyed back. Since it wasn't worth the discomfort of correcting out loud, I'd let it be when the collaborator sent scripts out, but changed it in scripts where I sent them out (which took just a minute; I'd just use the "find"/"replace" feature and voila! I figured - maybe foolishly - that if any producer or script screener at a theatre rejected the script or lost interest because of that type of misspelling, we may all be in the wrong business. :) )
its and it's - On spellcheck for some programs, the system simply won't let us type "its" without the apostrophe. Spellcheck insists on adding the apostrophe even when the apostrophe is incorrect. Sometimes the email goes out wrong, but usually I end up totally rewording!
-
John G- I sent you an email re your San Antonio question last night. I didn't want to put the people's name on here in case the people get googled.
-
I slipped by 27000 posts. I didn't even notice the millstone with last night's holiday frivolity.
-
My friend Ben Davis is playing the lead in Kiss Me, Kate in Seattle. DRs TCB and George, you should take him donuts to the stage door.
-
Anabelle will see Dr Romero, Thatch's vet, at 10:30. This is good.
-
TOD: I despise people who say things like "Myself and two others...."
Why, "Hello, Myself. That's a funny first name."
-
And there are those who insist on spelling "separate" as "separate".
-
I agree that yesterday wasn't all that hot.
I went with my mom, my aunt and a neighbor's mother-in-law to Juniper in Ridge Spring. That is where we often have Friday meals of shrimp and grits. I was not in a mood for shrimp and grits, so I had a grilled reuben with a side of potato salad and a kosher dill. Dee-LISH!
We then went to Walmart in Batesburg and then returned to Johnston. The neighbor's mother-in-law never took a breath with her incessant chatter. She was determined we were to know everything about her fabulous life. She's a very nice lady and she has had an interesting life, but there was just a bit too much "drama" in the telling for my taste.
We also attended the Good Friday service at Johnston First Baptist Church at 7 p.m. The day was full, but a bit too much in one day.
-
DR FJL: Congratulations on your millstone!
-
I'm sick of the fact that no one today knows the difference between objective and nominative cases.

Sorry, not you Elmore

Annabelle saw Dr Romero, Thatch's pretty doctor, today. Dr Romero flushed out her nasal passages and gave her a prescription of Clavamox. Since we do not know if the upper respiratory infection is back or if it's the dirt and dust allergies, we want to keep her healthy for the dentist.
By the way, Nursie, you were right and I was misinformed: a specialist will do Annabelle's dental work.
-
Annabelle was very well behaved. She was the only cat in a waiting room full of dogs. She stayed quiet and watched from the safety of her carrier. One young man had the most adorable puppy in a red harness with little wings and a leash. He was having a good time playing with the other dogs when he pooped on the floor. The young man had a bundle of plastic baggies in his coat pocket, took one, and scooped the mess up. I was quite impressed.
-
I'm very happy I made the decision to see the vet this morning. Now I must clean the litter and get to Me & My Girl.
-
Well it must be spring... The annual ant invasion has begun. I could understand if they were in my kitchen, I'd be upset, but I would understand; but why do they congregate in the bathtub?
I think they are voyeurs
-
I'm very happy I made the decision to see the vet this morning. Now I must clean the litter and get to Me & My Girl.
I think you mean My girl and I.
-
A typical sentence from this grown ass native English speaker in my office
"0h we seen that! Me and him goed to that movie"
-
I think I caught curmudgeonitis
-
I should go do something productive
-
Good morning.

I was up at 7:15, but I may take a nap soon.

I wasn't planning to be up so early myself but Nature called. I told her I was sleeping and comfy but she threatened me with dire consequences if I did not do her bidding

DR TCB, thank goodness you are not haunted today by the thought of hitting those kittens.

DR elmore what kitty litter are you using? Is there any dust in it?
-
And there are those who insist on spelling "separate" as "separate".
Perhaps it is too early in the morning for me, but I don't understand this one.
-
Congratulations to Fred on his milestone.
-
DR elmore what kitty litter are you using? Is there any dust in it?
Arm & Hammer clumping. Low dust.
-
New biography due for release this Tuesday.

Saturday afternoon greetings! We are busy preparing our house for our small family Easter gathering. There will be 6 of us - Richard and me, Rob and Mary Linda, and Richard's brother David and his wife Kathy.
-
5 lbs of mushrooms peeled and sliced. Now simmering with the sautéed opinion and garlic, butter and sherry
-
Time to iron the church linens
-
And do some laundry

Good morning.

-
DR elmore what kitty litter are you using? Is there any dust in it?
Arm & Hammer clumping. Low dust.
99% dust free, pretty good. It rated well enough here http://bestreviews.com/best-cat-litter.
What I was really looking for was a rating regarding safety for cats with allergies and breathing issues. We had one cat with asthma that did ok with the low dust litters.
-
Congrats to DR FJL on his millstone.
-
Nice picture from DR GEORGE of the wandering HHW'ers last night.

Stumble through vibes for MR BK & Co.

TOD:
ALL of those already mentioned - plus the "new" misuse of the English language including:
Conversated....
Textas....more than one text
and a few others I may think of....later.
-
I'm up, I'm up - close to eight hours of sleep.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I did some laundry and will soon try to muster up some motivation to do a few other things.

Vixmom, no wonder your job is so stressful! Here I thought it was the long hours! Listening to this person for even a day would drive me nuts!

Many of the usual errors don't bother me. I am bothered, however, by the disappearing commas. Commas bring clarity. I've always been a fan of what's sometimes called the Oxford comma (commas in a series), but I leave that to the author's discretion. There are many, many examples of other missing commas, even in the NY Times.
-
Where have all the commas gone?
Long time passing.
Where have all the commas gone...

New biography due for release this Tuesday.
Larry, do you know the author?

Health vibes to DK Annabelle.

TTFN.

Stumble-through in thirty minutes. Important envelope came, so that was good.
-
By the way, folks, in my circle "bird" is a verb, as well as "butterfly." As in "I am going to butterfly the arboretum today."

Larry, do you know the author?
Personally? No.

I have felt your pain...and have lost that fight. :o
-
PAGE FOUR DANCE!!
-
DR George, I loved the photo of you and DR TCB. I wish it were a little lighter, but you two seem to be having a good time together.
Thanks, Larry! Once I get on my desktop computer, I might be able to lighten it a bit...if I ever get my butt outta bed.
;)

Tom, if it can be arranged (I start rehearsal on Monday), up for another adventure??

I think Ron's spellcheck corrected his attempt at a deliberate mistake. ;)

Thanjs, Jrand!

I probably tend to overuse commas.

Back -- from my first visit to IKEA in at least two decades.
And I'm actually kind of pleased to report that, to my perception, nothing has changed.
Including the meatballs.
-
And now, I need to get my butt outta bed and at least do some laundry and clean up a bit.
Be back later.
-
Butt before I do...Gratuitous Post #100!
-
I didn't buy anything, nor had I intended to. I just wanted to take it all in, and look at a few specific things (mainly, shelving). It's on the New Haven "waterfront", and was most enjoyable.

That followed a wonderful session with a good musician friend who gave me lots of pointers in learning the musical application MainStage.

Very happy to hear the vet was able to give Annabelle something today.

Today is a really fine, quite beautiful early spring day. And boy, do we deserve it. Now here's our weather forecast for Sunday evening through Monday, which, to the best of my knowledge, is not an April Fool's joke.
Sunday Night 90% Precip. / ~ 1 in
Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming cloudy with periods of snow after midnight. Low 28F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 90%. About one inch of snow expected.
Monday
04/02
46 | 30 °F
Monday 100% Precip. / 1-3 in
Snow during the morning will give way to partly cloudy conditions during the afternoon. High 46F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 100%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
Monday Night 10% Precip. / 0 in
Mainly clear skies. Low around 30F. Winds light and variable.
-
In a little bit of time, the First Final Four game will start - and the result will dash the hopes of either DR GINNY or MYSELF.
-
We are going to be in the 90s. Too warm to walk the 2.5 miles home from the public transportation.
-
Thanks for all the millstone congrats.
-
Lots of folks in San Antonio for the Final Four....LOTS!

A beautiful sunny, but cold, day in the nation's capital (not capitol)!
-

I would think you would be used to the heat. Will some one pick you up from the public transportation or will you drive instead?
-
I have been walking 2.5 miles each way to the light rail station so that I can get some walking in. It's great in the morning; but Thursday it was pretty warm coming home. If I park at the park and ride lot, I won't get in any walking.

Very happy to hear the vet was able to give Annabelle something today.
The vet washed out her nasal passages and I think it did a world of good. I just discovered a huge wad of cat snot on my bedspread.

Page 5!

I almost killed her just now. She climbed on top of the microwave and coming down brought cans of cat food, the butter dish, which she broke, and a plastic bottle of Mazola oil crashing down. I had to clean up a big pile of soft butter off the floor.

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANN 🎂🥂🎁
-
I was on my feet for 9 hours. I left early. Monday will be April madness.
-
We had a pretty terrific stumble-through - only a couple of lyric flubs from the same performer - but she broke up with her boyfriend today, so her mind was elsewhere. She'll be fine tomorrow.
-
Then Doug and I went to Casa Vega and I had a taco and one cheese enchilada. Then we got some gaily-colored Easter eggs for tomorrow night and I got some Mucinex-D as I'm a mass of phlegm.
-
Then I came home and wrote a whole set of liner notes for the next show release, which we'll announce this week along with a soundtrack release. The show reissue is something I released on CD back in the late 1990s - it's been OOP ever since and we've improved the sound (it sounded good before but I knew we could smooth it out a bit) - since the composer was a good friend, I'm thrilled to get this back into the world.

In "Comedy Tonight," there's the line:
Old situations, new complications
Nothing portentous or polite
Tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight
When I played Hero twenty-some-odd years ago, the guy playing Pseudolus sang, "Nothting portentious..." Not "portentous" or "pretentious," but a combination of the two. He could NEVER get it right. Unfortunately, Cheryl Bentyne on her recent Sondheim album (http://castalbums.org/recordings/reArrangements-of-Shadows-The-Music-of-Stephen-Sondheim-2017-Cheryl-Bentyne/37610) did the same thing. :-\

Tomorrow night, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is scheduled from 8:00 p.m.m to 10:20 p.m.. in other words, the broadcast is 2 hours and 20 minutes (140 minutes).

Last night, the staged version ran exactly 90 minutes, not counting intermission.

That means tomorrow night’s broadcast should be 90 minutes of concert and 50 minutes of commercials!
