Well, you've read the notes, the notes were Lelouchian, and now it is time for you to post until the Lelouchian cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INSCAPE!
-
T post after BK.
-
I never liked Claude Lelouch films. Talk about mumbling actors. I could never understand one word any of them ever said.
-
Good night, BK.
-
Good night, George.
-
T post after BK.
T post??
Is this really Vixmom posting as TCB?
-
Good night, Tom.
-
From last night:
I wonder how George’s first rehearsal went tonight?
We had a read-through, and sort of sang through the songs. We have Tuesdays off, then rehearse on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
-

I've never seen any of his films, that I can remember.
-
And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good day to all

DR George, Ben Daniels spends most of a dreadful movie from the early 1990s called Simona, Simoo, something like that, running about the desert in the nude. His costar is a mountain lion, also completely nude. It's a lot or pretentious twaddle
-
I forgot to feed the birds. I must do that, make the bed, clean the litter, and take Annabelle for our walk before I leave.

I wonder how it is with the sound off....

Feed the birds, tuppence a bag

My Favorite Claude Lelouch film was
Les Un et Les Autres (Literal translation: One and the Other) which was unfortunately retitled Bolero in the USA because the piece of music used at the end had a resurgence thanks to the movie "10". It was also heavily edited.
The original 3 hr plus version play in Montreal for 4 years and I would go see it at least once a year.
There is a 6hr TV mini-series version that I saw once.

Not looking forward to my MRI this morning.
:(
-
Everything accomplished. I'm off to other things.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Been cleaning the house for the housecleaners, and I'm taking a coffee and cinnamon roll break!
-
Tuesday morning greetings! I was awakened at 7am by thunder and it's been storming off and on ever since. I have a luncheon meeting today at a local country club that, according to what I heard yesterday, may be going out of business.
-
Add me to the throngs of Michigan fans disappointed about last night's outcome. It was a glorious run, though, and to that I say, "Go, Blue!"
-
When I checked the weather today they have changed Friday's weather from 15 cms of snow to now less than 5 cms of snow. At least this is going in the right direction. I really hope that somehow it gets warmer like it is supposed to be tomorrow. So the snow can be rain instead.

DR TCB is your stomach better today?
-
Last night I kept falling asleep while writing that I was crashing. I then slept until 4:00 and fell back asleep until 7:00. That is a lot of sleep for me 😊
-
It is Tuesday here in Johnston, SC.
What day is it where YOU are?
-
Levity aside, it's a beautiful day in the CSRA (that's the "Central Savannah River Area").
-
Pollen is high...trees and grasses.
I am in a bit of minor misery over it. I am not supposed to take antihistamines, but I may be forced to do so if things get worse.
-
I forgot to feed the birds. I must do that, make the bed, clean the litter, and take Annabelle for our walk before I leave.
Feed the birds, tuppence a bag
"Matzo for the Birds" in NY Times Metropolitan Diary (and of course, the expected Feed the Birds tribute lyric in the comments; I think it's Ok under the Times comment rules to suggest to people to hit "Recommend" if they recommend the lyric)
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/02/nyregion/metropolitan-diary-matzoh-for-the-birds.html
then the lyric to "Feed the Birds" when/if you click the comments

For lunch yesterday, my mother prepared fried pork chops, fried squash, crowder peas with white corn, and yeast rolls.
I know that sounds like a lot of "fried" stuff, but she uses canola oil and she does not season. The chops were tasty, as was the rest of the meal.
Today will likely be dining out somewhere.

TOD:
My favorites are Fellini and Almodovar.

That question made me wish I was in an adventure in a different time zone ;)

Do saline drops, sprays, etc help at all?

DR DRUXY don't wear anything metal!
-
Feel better vibes for DR TCB.
We had lots of rain, wind, thunder and lightning last night. We are under a flood watch and severe weather warning today.....just as we got rid of the snow!
-
I enjoyed the game last night - and am happy for the winner.
-
I liked DR KEVIN H's list for the TOD.
I was introduced to Claude Lelouch via this here site. I ordered Les Uns Et Le Otre....or whatever....it is one of my favorite movies ever!
The long French version - NOT the edited dubbed U.S. version!
-
Happy birthday, Doris Day!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for DR Druxy.

TOD 1: the first foreign film I remember seeing was Cocteau’s Beauty and the Beast. I was a kid, but I was hooked. Then as a teen I discovered Ingmar Bergman by way of A Little Night Music. Couldn’t get enough of his films.
This was back in the day of the revival house cinema and before VCRs, so I sought out everything I could that was insteresting or off-beat. It could be a screening of 8 1/2 or the first of the Apu Trilogy, so Ray and Fellini we’re soon on the list.
-
TOD 2:
First-run theaters were showing latest releases from Kurosawa, Lelouch, Herzog, Truffaut, Fassbinder and Rohmer, and it was great seeing their movies on the big screen.
Things started to change with the introduction of cable. By then I was in college and I could see great movies in film class. That led to video and then to DVDs.
-
TOD 3:
In recent years, I’ve discovered Ozu and rediscovered Renoir, who may now be my top two favorites. Their works both deal with humanity in ways that really get to me. Tokyo Story and A Day in the Country are two movies I treasure.
And I still love watching their work.
-
DR DRUXY don't wear anything metal!
;D
-
GOOD TEST RESULT VIBES FOR DR DRUXY!
-
And I am home. Thatch and Annabelle seemed happy to see me.
-
I have bought my tickets to Albany for the Maine trip.
-
I need a vacation. Like nobody’s business.
(Cue the song from Pump Boys and Dinettes)
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep, I think.
-
John when are you leaving?
-
Lots of rain so far, but NO serious wedder.
-
Back from the 90 minute MRI...and totally drained.
-

Sounds...interesting.
-
I found it. It's called Passion in the Desert (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BC8T0U/) (aka Simoom (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0125980/)). I could have a double feature with the opera Ercole su'l Termodonte (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RGSW7U/), in which the lead is also nude throughout most of the show. ;)

Back from the 90 minute MRI...and totally drained.
They are tiring. Did you need any dye, or whatever it is, in you for the MRI?
-
John when are you leaving?
April 26.
-
And not a moment too soon.
-
Back from the 90 minute MRI...and totally drained.

No dye. Just LOUD noise.

And the elevator is out again. Three weeks new and the damned thing is broken. what the hell?

:o NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bad stuff today having to do with The Federal - I'm not happy with them and they certainly aren't happy with us and they're telling me they're cancelling May and June as a cooling off period. I'm looking for another venue for those two months and if I find it and can work out a deal I like then I'll just move permanently. But we'll see if there's any way around it.
-
Good afternoon.
-
They let us out early today.
-
The lawyers are arguing about something.
-
Tomorrow they will give us the case to deliberate.
-
The part I am dreading is near. I don't want to make a decision about someone else's life.
-
My brother Randy called me. He asked me how my illustrator search was going.

And not a moment too soon.
Wishing you a fun, relaxing vacation.

I get dye and LOUD noises. Thankfully the time period is much shorter. 90 minutes is a very long time.

Hello, everyone.
-
Hi Jeanne.
-
I had lunch with my friend Jan today in Culver City. The Powers That Be in Culver City are either trying to promote fast food and eating on the run or they've lost their senses. It took me twenty minutes to find a parking space that wasn't limited to one hour. Downtown Culver City is heavily populated with restaurants, most of which have long lines. You CANNOT get in and out in an hour. I finally found parking, but it was quite a hike to the restaurant.
-
We had a leisurely lunch, then strolled through the nearby Farmer's Market, which had no bargains. Neither of us bought anything.
-
TOD:
Carol Reed's work just resonates with me like no one else's. I also like Jules Dassin and Fritz Lang.
-
TTFN.
-
Good evening!
-
Another roller coaster weather week: high of 68 tomorrow but very windy; a high of 43 Saturday (after a low of 29) , with accumulating snow expected!

That's terrible! Downtown Olympia has at least two hour metered parking, and there are places (only a few blocks away) that are up to nine hours.
-
Page four? Really?
-
The day has been so crazy, so I haven't even left the house - I finally made some Wacky Noodles and just ate them here.
-
Many e-mails and telephonic calls.
-
The one good news thing is all books are at the post office and hopefully will begin arriving by Thursday.
-
BRUCE, GOOD LUCK AND GOOD VIBES FINDING ANOTHER/BETTER VENUE.
Ditto.
-

Dassin is a relatively recent discovery of mine. Love his work.
-
Back to Great Expectations. I really love the way David Lean and his company have adapted this novel. Great storytelling in its own way.
-
Depressing day at work. The two people who know what they're doing are not happy. And that doesn't make life any easier.
I seem to be the one person that the other side will speak with. And that's not necessarily for the best.
Oy.
-
The new director may be chosen more for their ability to crack the whip than do anything about content. I'm not really looking forward to that. That's not a long-term solution, which means it doesn't look good for the team's future.
-
I would rather not end up in the marketing department.
-

Vibes you don't get much snow and that will be the last of it. I see it might also snow on Monday.

I am very sorry you have to deal with this. Vibes for a good ending to the situation.

Vibes for DR JOHN G.
-
Finding a better place vibes for MR BK.
-
Elevator vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Elevator vibes for DR ELMORE.
Indeed.
-
A thunderstorm is rolling in. I guess I had the lawn mowed at the right time.
-
Starting to watch a French film called Renoir, about the painter. I hope it's good and doesn't make me wish I'd watched one of his son's films instead.
-
TOD 4:
For sheer storytelling brilliance, Marcel Pagnol cannot be bettered. I love the Marseilles trilogy (which became Fanny) and La Femme du Boulanger (which became The Baker's Wife). And his stories, fictional as in Jean de Florette/Manon of the Springs or nonfictional as in My Father's Glory/My Mother's Castle, show how, with the right touch, melodrama can be truly affecting

Oh dear Vibes for an amicable solution

My brother Randy called me. He asked me how my illustrator search was going.
Atta boy' Randy!

I am so sorry that's ridiculous!
-
I would rather not end up in the marketing department.
What is it that your team does? (If you can say)

After all the drama and craziness of last week this week seems almost relaxing

We try to make it easier for our customers to do business with us digitally. We make the words simple and straightforward, using the words they use to find something or complete their business online, on their phones, their watches or their tablets. We also analyze the processes to make sure they also make sense. We work with designers, project producers, business representatives and legal teams to get it all together in a way that works for everyone involved. But our main goal is to make it best and easiest for the customer. I specialize in doing this with our bank services that deal with credit cards, loans and money transfers.
-
It's a rather simplified response.
-
My brother Randy called me. He asked me how my illustrator search was going.
Atta boy' Randy!
We've been wondering the same thing for quite a while.
-
I am watching The. China Syndrome ... I saw this in the movies. Whe. My date and I came out of the theatre afterwards and a got back in his car we turned on the radio, they were broadcasting the news of the The Mile Island nuclear accident

So revamping the websites?
-
Do you also work with the automated telephone systems?
-
I hate the way some of those work...
-
I think making it easier for the customers is a very laudable endeavor
-
Laura sending you vibes and prayers for strength and wisdom in your deliberations
-
Do you also work with the automated telephone systems?
Oh, heck no.
-
I also watched it DR VIXMOM....I like everyone...and I remember it seemed like it was happening...it was so news worthy at the time.
-
I wonder what Jean Renoir would have made of this movie. It's about the artist who came to model for the painter father and ended up marrying the filmmaker son. More is made of the father-son relationship than Jean Renoir said ever existed between them.
Yet, there were some fairly powerful moments, including a scene in which the young model DeeDee, who becomes Catherine Hessling, looks exactly like Nana, perhaps her best film role.
And the Alexandre Desplat score was quite wonderful.
-
Good night, all.
-
I had fun signing all the books today, so that was nice, and I sort of had fun eating too many Wacky Noodles because I kept having to have telephonic conversations during said eating.
-
I was really tired, so sat down and started watching To Rome, With Love, the Woody Allen movie, thinking I'd never seen it, but I had - that was good because I fell asleep for over an hour.
-

I agree.

:o I remember seeing the movie, and hearing about Three Mile Island nuclear accident, but I forgot that they were around the same time.
