Two weeks is a long time to have to monitor the kitties' hard vs soft foods. I don't remember having to do that except for maybe the first couple of days after a dental procedure. Good luck, DR Elmore!
I've contacted a Rescue Group, Little Wanderers NYC, about taking the discarded food off my hands. It night as well go to a good cause.
I know it's easier to download through Wi-Fi, but I'm not a quick reader, so I like the idea of being able to get a library e-book and returning it instantly for the next patron, and then being able to take as long as I want/need to read it.
It's the type of venue that, ordinarily, left to their devices, would make it a kids' cast of hundreds. Heaven forfend.

Will there be any little girls left to be in the audience? :)
Well HARD KNOCK LIFE has turned into a regular gymnastics fest....which of course I hate..... "People are expecting something BIG here...."
Yes....like maybe....uh....DANCING?
Favorite ANNIE lyric is this subtle ADDAMS FAMILY reference:
When you're through
Mrs. Pugh
Comes to take Itt away.
What do young kids and especially adopted kids make of Miss Hannigan's line "Why any kid would want to be orphan, I'll never know."
I'm surprised the P.C. people haven't reacted. (That line shocked me a bit even back in 1977. Felt more out-there than anything in I LOVE MY WIFE, which I'd seen a few days before).
Jane, be glad you avoided Flat Broke with Two Goats. Flat writing is more like it. And too much detail about favorite craft beers.
Maybe you will get someone even better DR GEORGE.
DR VIXMOM.....LOL....GET OFF MY LAWN, LITTLE GIRL!!!!
The original Gennaro choreography for Annie was brilliant and You're Never Fully Dressed was the best of it, that and the staging of Easy Street. Hard Knock Life was simple and great. You can see the original You're Never Fully Dressed right here - this is when choreographers knew how to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-44jUFsqdo
I also watched other versions of this number and yikes. Especially the TV movie version, which is everything you need to know about choreographers not being what they were.
I am sorry about your stage manager/choreographer leaving you , George. Vibes you get a great replacement
I remember even in the very first Broadway production of ANNIE, for "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile," the cute little orphans were bumping and grinding like strippers during the dance break.
One of the big problems we have out here in the boondocks is the idea that just because a person is a dance teacher, he/she is also a choreographer....
It ain't the same thing, folks! And if you think the audience doesn't notice - you're wrong!
I've contacted a Rescue Group, Little Wanderers NYC, about taking the discarded food off my hands. It night as well go to a good cause.
Just heard from them. They'll be here around 4:00.
Since we have NINETEEN of them, not all of the orphans have names assigned in the script....I told them they could use their middle names as their orphan names.
We have a Ruby, a Judy, a Bernice, and a Colleen among others.

That was fast :)
And I’d argue that Someone Wonderful I Missed was the most gorgeous theater song that season.

Pretty much the whole I LOVE MY WIFE cast album brought me conniptions of joy! I was so excited when I heard Coleman and Stewart were re-teaming for BARNUM. Why were we deprived of Michael Stewart's lyrics all those years before these shows? (Maybe BK knows the answer.)

Yep. Two weeks! Thinly sliced deli turkey is very soft, so they get that as a treat. I just came back from the corner bodega with a pound of it.
George, so sorry to hear about the person leaving your show. Hope you find a good replacement, or maybe it'll be two good people for the two jobs.

LOL, I don't recall bumping and grinding like strippers.
We saw it in the spring of '79 when my parent's were visiting us in New Jersey. What I recall the most about it was my mother and I having the same reaction. We both walked away feeling sad.

I love watching those original videos!!!
DR FJL I like that quote.....he's right.....who knows?
FROM DR FJL:
I mean, the pre-teen kids are rhyming "smidge" and "orphanage" - as some critic said of some funny, stretchy JOSEPH lyrics, who's to say where naivete ends and sophisticated begins?
Just to show how fat and sassy I am, here is a photo from my lunch jaunt with my cousin Carol today.....we were most amusing and popular with the populace.

Thanks, Fred! I would assume that we'll get two people. Vanessa is a renaissance kinda gal.

George, even though she couldn't do both, was there any reason she couldn't do one job on your show and not the other?
Wow, a lesson not to let people multi-task if they have the right to leave for better pay!
Maybe you will get someone even better DR GEORGE.
DR George when is your show?
Jane, be glad you avoided Flat Broke with Two Goats. Flat writing is more like it. And too much detail about favorite craft beers.
Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
It is the current "big library read" here so I get to see it every time I go to the library site. I just checked the Ashland library and it is the same there. Do all libraries across the country choose the same book?

They just canceled on me and asked about tomorrow morning. I'm waiting to hear from Joshie before I can say yes or no.

I think that critic was citing (from JOSEPH) really giggly stuff like "All those things you saw in your / Are a long-range forecast for your farmers."
In ANNIE, "The snowflakes are frightened of falling" rhyming with "And all through the land folks are bawling." [the latter of which to my Borscht Belt mind made me think when I heard it, wouldn't that have been great in I LOVE MY WIFE. :)
(sorry, i know it's a family site)
That's looking a Stephen Sondheim gift horse in the mouth.

And the original choreography is much more historically accurate. The modern gymnastics aren't the kinds of dance moves that people in the 1930s would've done, at all. Like near rhymes in lyrics, it takes me out of the moment. :P
Im gonna get my bossa nova on tonight. Ushering for Bebel Gilberto.
On an even happier note, little Thatch is now actually climbing onto my lap or chest to sleep when I'm lying down. What's even cuter, he follows me into the bathroom whenever I get up in the middle of the night, then runs ahead and jumps up into my bed. After he feels he's had enough cuddling, he climbs back in his cat tree.
Well, luck was on my side. One of the Little Wanderers NYC people showed up 15 minutes ago and carted away all the cat food.

It seems as if they were wandering today and not sure where they would be ;)

I would like to have a big cat tree to sleep in.

In the link BK gave from the 1977 Tonys, it's the tush-bump down the line at 1:17 I was talking about. (My mind added the grind, I guess>) And Little Molly becoming actress Danielle Brisebois for a moment, bowing and acknowledging the audience's applause. Magic in 1977.
Danielle B. of course went on to some TV sitcom stardom.
Have we linked to this before - Maybe BK knows who thought of re-using most of this Strouse tune, or if there's a story of interest. This is the very short film the Charles Strouse tune for "Tomorrow" was originally mostly written for.
The song "The Way It Is Now" (sung in the film by Shelley Plimpton) starts around 2-1/2 minutes in, and then over the end credits.
"Replay" - short 1970 film

I was out of commission with my laptop as Paisley unknown to be chewed on the wire and I had to go out and my a new connection.
She turned 4 months this week and I have had for three weeks. She is settling in and finally enjoying going out for walks.
Friday morning at 4 a.m. EST on MeTV, Miss Allison Hayes is featured in an episode of 77 Sunset Strip looking very pretty in some stylish hats and dresses.

And went on to be an Academy Award nominated song writer.
And the Vixter called me at work today and started the conversation with , "I'm all right". Whic every parent knows is going to be followed by the news of somthing that went wrong
She was involved with in an accident on her way to work .. Her lovely 26 year old Pontiac Will have to be replaced
But she is ok anD that's what is important
Vibes for the Vixter. Hope she’s not too shaken up by the whole thing.
I did not know until now that Nora Jones is Ravi Shankar’s daughter.
But she is ok anD that's what is important
And her beloved took good care of her
George, are you enjoying Discovery?
Too many things are just wrong, but thinking of it as a complete reboot, or an entirely different science fiction TV series altogether, I can enjoy it on a different level.

With that outlook maybe I should watch it. I think I would rather watch THE ORVILLE.
