Another very nice review for GEE on Amazon - not sure who this is actually:
"GEE by Bruce Kimmel was as unexpected as it was a delightful journey into the past through GEE's eyes. I've been a fan of Mr. Kimmel's books for years. This novel was entirely different from all of his others. It's not a mystery or a book about time travel, but a sweet story about a most "peculiar" girl finding her way through life on her terms. I love that GEE is a strong woman with her own mind. She's a great role model for my daughters' as is Peyton a sweet and determined girl in the second half of the book. Once I started reading, I was instantly transported to another time. I got so caught up with this story that I found the book really hard to put down! What I love about Mr. Kimmel's novels is that I always pass them right on to my daughters who love them just as much as I do. But for me, the best part of Mr. Kimmel's books are the conversations we embark on together as a family. These books are rich in history. Much like Peyton in this story, we too were busy on Google looking up the past which led to so many discoveries and discussions. A fantastic book and a must read!"
Haven't I mentioned the show I'm working on?
I'm only up for a plane ticket check-in.

Page Two - GYM DANCE.
Here is a photo of me, my brother Mike, and our friend Martin under the arch donated by the class of 1914. Behind us is the gym where the stage in the picture I posted last weekend is located. The High School, later the Jr. High building was located at the end of the sidewalk behind us, which now runs into a nice fir tree.
I have one more button than necessary buttoned on my jacket.

I got a call from Vixdad today at work, his dad passed away in his sleep last night. He was 90

He can't go, his passport is expired, he had just put in the paperwork last weekend

Remember when you didn't need passports to Canada?
ChasSmith's review has disappeared. That's very peculiar - I've asked him to ask them why.
Okay I will: Doug had an idea to do a female-centric version of A Christmas Carol, with a female Scrooge, Cratchit, Tiny Tim, etc, along with female past, present, and future ghosts (not ghosts in our version) and set in current times. I liked the idea and the Group Rep committed to it. I'm having a lot of fun with the score, I must say. He original had some convoluted silly title for it, but I insisted that the Scrooge gal be named Carol and that the title be A Carol Christmas - which it is, and which I think is pretty fun and clever.

In the cast recording for Jerry's Girls during "We Need a Little Christmas," Carol Channing says "I'm your Christmas Carol!" I know it's a cheezy joke, but I still like it. ;D
Thunderstorms this afternoon caused the temps to drop 20 degrees.

But it can be rushed due to the emergency.
Condolences to Vixmom and dad. Remember when you didn't need passports to Canada?

You don't have to get a passport. You can get a special license's or id cards that will let you go back and forth between the US and Canada by car.

We'll since he's not a US citizen he definitely needs one....
My talk tonight went well. No one walked out. Always a good sign.
BK: You should actually have twelve now — not eleven, and certainly not ten. See PM...
Ten what?
I think it won't get fixed for another day or two. The twelfth review is up on Goodreads and it's lovely - I hope Amazon does the right thing and puts them back - if I have to get involved be sure that I will.
"There’s something irresistible about reading other people’s letters and journals—it appeals to the voyeur in all of us. This is what Kimmel has tapped into in GEE, and it makes the book impossible to put down. It would've been too easy to do this as an epistolary work, and that would’ve created a distance for the reader. Instead, the third-person, spare prose simply mimics that of personal writing, which is much more effective as it allows the reader to go along for the emotional ride. GEE is not a novel one is likely to forget; it makes us think about life, the choices we make in it, who we are—and what we leave behind."
We went to Boathouse #19 and sat out on the deck.
Good night, George.
