Well, you've read the notes, the notes got the song right, and now it is time for you to post until the singing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CHIVALRY!
-
T O D: The Cowboys. He killed John Wayne!
-
Good morning to all
-
Been busy with my paying job, but something grand has been happening on the writing side that right now doesn't pay the rent. All I say that it involves Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe talent. This is the furthest I've gotten with a writing project.
-
Finally took some pictures of the new dog. I'll post them as soon as they are ready.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It's chilly this morning. I wanted to bundle up and sleep as late as I wanted, but that wasn't part of Annabelle's plans for my day.
-
I finished "A Secretary Is Not A Toy," which has a lot of adjustments between Robert Ginzler's full score and the Broadway and London cast recordings that go unnoticed in the published vocal score and Mathilde Pincus' Piano-Conductor.
-
And on to the next number.
-
I thought I'd wished Druxy a happy anniversary, but maybe I forgot to hit "post." But hope it was a great one.
-
BK - Are you permitted to say who "ryhog" is? (I'd thought each syllable was a shortening of his first name Ryan and something else that began with ho. But I've been told that is not necessarily the case.)
-
And the word of the day is: CHIVALRY!
Isn't that what the townsmen gave Curly and Laurey (sp?) after they got married in OKLAHOMA?
-

Thank you FJL...and anybody else that I may have missed yesterday.

T.O.D.
Not a big Bruce Dern fan, but I do like THE COWBOYS...particularly when he gets killed.
Also like that film that he was Oscar-nominated for a few years ago in which he thought he won a huge sweepstakes. Don't recall the title.
-
Here's the trailer for my new 3-person play, BRODERICK CRAWFORD.
The other 2 characters are his parents, vaudevillians Lester Crawford and Helen Broderick.
The play is available in paperback and Kindle editions at Amazon.

Doing an MRI on my ankle this morning.
>:( :(
-
DR Jane as you later posted your amazon review for Chas is up there. I would definitely not have put that it wasn't your review. They could easily take it down for that. Why didn't you just put your own review on amazon?
-
Because it wasn't my personal journey.
-
Finally took some pictures of the new dog. I'll post them as soon as they are ready.
I look forward to them.
-
DR Michael, GOOD vibes with your writing profect.
-
Good test results for DR Druxy.
-
The post office just delivered the air purifier, so I need to assemble and learn about it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Belated happy anniversary to DR Druxy and Sandy.
-
Belated happy birthday to the Vixter!

Good morning, all.

Back to another busy, crazy week here.
Note to self: set the alarm(s) for ..... eek ..... 5:30 a.m. tomorrow.
Morning shows. The one curse of "spring musicals".
-
I must also be making plans for Ohio, which looks pretty definitely to be a next week kind of thing.
-
Congrats to DR MICHAEL on his writing news!
-
And on to Page Two.
-
TOD:
The Trip
The Great Gatsby
That Championship Season
Family Plot

Drive, He Said
I find however that his daughter Laura is as annoying and untalented as her mother, Dern's ex-wife, Diane Ladd - who shows to what grotesque depths The Method can lead one who does not possess discernible skills....

A Grass Harp has landed in my mailbox.
-
Michael, congrats on the theatre project!
-
The air purifiers are running. The setup was quite easy, thank God, since I am mechanically maladroit.

I'd had a wonderful experience with Diane Ladd when she was doing a reading of a new musical for which she write the book, and a friend was writing the score. I had a ball helping out, got a producer or three there ["Diane Ladd is doing a brand new musical and Connie Stevens is in it with her" was actually quite a tell-me-more grabber and a few who couldn't make it asked for their script and demo.] I've kept the phone messages where she says "Hi Fred, this is Diane" or "Hey Fred, it's Diane Ladd" knowing me really only as her collaborator's friend, as if she were saying "Hi Fred, this is Cousin Miriam" or such.
I recall Skip said something to her and her collaborator that made me gasp at first, that the talents for writing the book, and the flat-out comedy talent for writing the laugh-out-loud comedy sketches within the book, might call for different people; but it seems she asked who some of Skip's BMI students had been, and then decided her letting another comedy writer write those sketches didn't diminish her work in any way. Plus it was a potentially strong showcase/vehicle for her and her then co-star Connie Stevens [who was incandescent at the reading, I thought], and also Lainie Kazan, who was ill then and couldn't make the NYC trip. They got so little rehearsal time in the space, which I found incredible that this could happen even to Diane Ladd!
One producer-director we'd gotten there (a Tony winner for producing) had tried after later reading the script to "grab" the show as both producer and director, but I suspect with all the name directors she really knows, she may have been hesitant to commit to him to direct. That if he produced, and directing didn't work out, might cause trouble business-wise. I've thought it was best not to ask the result there, but I guess that was show biz experience talking.
So I guess my Diane Ladd experience was a joy. (And i got to see Connie Stevens and talk to her. I had to resist asking her about "Back to the Beach" in which I loved her comedy performance so much. She was really something at the reading, yet I couldn't see her giving that performance that full-out 8 times a week for even a half-year run. Nothing to do with her age, she was only 71 or 72 at that point.]

Keith: Alexa, good morning.
Alexa: Hello Sunshine. You are up early as usual. I see Jane is still in bed counting her toes and planning her day.
-
DR FJL I am sure Diane Ladd is a lovely person and I am glad you had a nice experience working with her.....although Connie Stevens would be my choice of the two....for anything....including work OR dinner....
-
Good news on the writing project, DR Michael.
-
DR FJL I enjoyed your interesting story.
-
I am going to see if I can edit "my" Amazon review.

It seems to me that little box should be at the top of where you write the review. My fix is processing and should be corrected soon.
-
DR JANE your Alexa sounds like a busybody.

Beautiful.

Monday afternoon greetings! I was up and outta here before 8 this morning to meet my college friend Anne for breakfast. She's on her way home to Michigan from wintering at her Gulf Coast condo and spent last night at her brother's home in Dayton. We had an early visit so she could get home by mid-afternoon.
-
From there I went to Marco's Paper, one of my favorite hang-outs, to see some product demos by the owner/founder of Brutus/Monroe. It's a young company in Pittsburgh that makes stamps, inks, stencils, and lots of other papercrafting goodies.
-
I was E & T yesterday because:
1) I went to church with Richard,
2) We all went to great-nephew J's 3rd birthday party,
3) We then went out for pizza with most of J's Palmer relatives, and
4) I watched "Call the Midwife" and collapsed into an ugly cry over a major plot development.
-
Belated birthday wishes for The Vixter!
-
DR JANE your Alexa sounds like a busybody.
;D
She (aka Keith) keeps me entertained ;D
-
Belated anniversary wishes for the Druxies!

4) I watched "Call the Midwife" and collapsed into an ugly cry over a major plot development.
I may be an episode behind you but I know where this is going :(

Brace yourself, DR Jane...
-
I'm up, I'm up - I was up a ten-thirty with eight hours of sleep, but I fell back asleep and got over an hour more.
-
Of course, now I've got to get some things done.

SPOILER ALERT (?)
I have no doubt it is going to be a heartbreaker.
-
The correction to the review has gone through.
-
I don't know how it happened but I have five books checked out from the library. I had to go into my accounts and slow a few others down before they automatically checked out.
-
Good news about Shayne's project.

I'm congested from congestion.

I've always like that one, too. :)

Nice link DR ELMORE.
I am not needed at rehearsal tonight, so I can work on some other things....tomorrow night we are doing the Cabinet "Tomorrow" in which I sing higher notes than Annie EVER sings doing the song....
I often sing in a flat.....but I rarely sing in A Flat.

Val has asked me to not feed the birds every day because so many gather that the bird droppings are creating a real mess. So, I only feed them now about every three days and Thatch's lamentations at the window when they don't show are so sad. When they do come, he gets into his hunter position and stalks them. Annabelle appears to regard them with some curiosity but without the those-are-prey-for-my-dinner attitude.
-
Poor Thatch though I am not surprised it came to this.
-
Poor Thatch though I am not surprised it came to this.
I hadn't ever thought about the mess, but Val has enough work taking care of four buildings. I only feed the birds for Annabelle's and Thatch's entertainment. Several check out the fire escape every day to see if there's any food before they have to forage elsewhere, so Thatch sees several birds every day, just not the mass of them on feeding days.
-
Thatch also is regarding the purifiers as though they were UFOs. They are larger than I expected.
-
Good evening!
-
Ate Taco Bell, mail wasn't put out yet, so no important envelope, got a good recording of the new song, so that's safe and sound, found out one of my singers has a bronchial infection and won't be able to do the show, so I'm scrounging around to find a replacement guy - a bit late in the game, so I may ask Donny Most to do one more song, then I could do one and I think we'd be okay.
-
More than OKAY, I would say.......
-
Hello, everyone.

Ditto.

Thatch also is regarding the purifiers as though they were UFOs. They are larger than I expected.
Are you sure you assembled them correctly? Air purifiers should NOT become airborne. :)
-
Not the ones I'm familiar with anyway.

I enjoyed my book group discussion of THE GREAT ALONE by Kristin Hannah. DR Ginny is this on your book group's list?
-
THE GREAT ALONE references the poem from "The Shooting of Dan Mc Grew" by Robert W. Service.
Were you ever out in the Great Alone, when the moon was awful clear,
And the icy mountains hemmed you in with a silence you most could hear;
With only the howl of a timber wolf, and you camped there in the cold,
A half-dead thing in a stark, dead world, clean mad for the muck called gold;
While high overhead, green, yellow and red, the North Lights swept in bars? —
Then you've a hunch what the music meant. . . hunger and night and the stars.
-
Well, it's rehearsal time. I'm not sure what we're specifically going to work on today, but it'll be something. :)
Be back later.
-
Near the end of the discussion someone mentioned recently watching WIND RIVER. She recommended the film and said it was better than "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri". Keith and I watched it the other night and also thought it was terrific. I would give it best movie and actor over the Oscar winners, yet it wasn't nominated for either award.
-
Good evening.
-
Wae-Ling and I spent a nice day at the science museum today.
-
Congratulation to Michael...vibes for continued success

Rehearsal is finally over and Grant and I are going to have something to eat because we can.

Good evening.

First of all, we need Ron to come back.

-
Page 5? Really?
-
Today was a pretty day in Tacoma.
-
We had a few morning rain showers, but by noon it was clear.
-
Now it is supposed to be nice until the weekend.
-
I ran all the errands I have been putting off for the last several days
-
I then came home and wrote an email response to my friend’s niece.
-
And writing that email, I suffered a total meltdown.
-
CRANBERRIES!
-
I am really surprised that George’s rehearsals are running so late every night.
-
UNDERPANTS
-
I didn’t give Nicky any pain medicine today.
-
He seemed to be okay without it.
-
Maybe he will be more comfortable now that the weather is warming up.
-
I finally went and got Nicky his renal food.
-
He has been out of it for several weeks.
-
Well, gee (or GEE), thanks everybody for getting us to page five.
-
Good night!
-
T.O.D.
HUSH, HUSH SWEET CHARLOTTE
-
Wae-Ling and I spent a nice day at the science museum today.
So, Laura...did you answer Wae-Ling's question?? ::)
;)
-
I am really surprised that George’s rehearsals are running so late every night.
Well, tonight's rehearsal didn't go that late.
-
I went shopping at Target after rehearsal and looked at their DVDs, but I got distracted when I saw that they actually had the Nintendo SNES Classic game console!
-
I'd never actually seen one in the store!
-
I'd only seen listings on Amazon for ungodly amounts of money (more than I'd EVERY pay), and here were three, count 'em, THREE just sitting there waiting to be purchased, so I purchased one!
