Well, you've read the notes, the notes rang the doorbell, and now it is time for you to post until the ringing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BEAUCOUP!
-
First post after BK!
-
And now, I need to get to sleep. I have to get up early to get my teeth cleaned.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning.
-
And good morning, all!
-
I plan to spend my day doing as little as possible. Since the weekend, I've had bad ains in my left side between my shoulder and hip. I thought I might have pulled a muscle toting 40 lbs of kitty litter, but now I'm wondering if I could have a kidney infection. So, I'll work on How To Succeed . . . for a bit, mail my apartment lease renewal for the next two years, continue my dealings with my HMO over a lost payment, and lie about with the kitties.
-
I hope you don't have a kidney infection.

TOD:
I assume you are talking about actors/actresses, both living and dead?
I was always, from childhood, a big fan of Broderick Crawford.
Loved him in ALL THE KING'S MEN, THE MOB, SCANDAL SHEET, STOP, YOU'RE KILLING ME....
It's probably one of the major reasons I wrote my play about him.
During the 1950s, when other Seattle kids were going to see Elvis movies, I'd see every one of Crawford's films.
I know it's weird, but I was a weird kid.
After I moved to Hollywood, I got to know him years later in the early 1970s.

Nice first review on Amazon for my 3-person play, BRODERICK CRAWFORD. Please check it out.

Randy is meeting with a new real estate agent on Monday morning, so we've been going through rounds of searching for the power of attorney I gave him to represent my third of the property. Oy!
-
Good morning, all.

Posting from the car place, where the issue with the air conditioning will hopefully be resolved quickly and not too expensively.

More coffee!

Pain be gone vibes for DR Elmore!
-
Hello, Dolly! was wonderful, as was Bernadette Peters and the rest of the cast. More later on this.
-
And the word of the day is: BEAUCOUP!
Is Mercy Beaucoup, or Missy Beaucoup, an actual drag name?
-
Thanks for last night's birthday wish, TCB!
-
Jane - it was a chocolate cake from the Little Pie Shop. Not as good as when Skip makes a cake, but a really good choice.
They say it serves 4. That's what "they" say. At least on a Birthday after a day of concern and then relief, the cake served 2!

TOD 1:
I had always enjoyed Margaret Colin in anything starting with Foley Square. She’s drawing raves in a minor role in the latest Carousel.
-
Dental vibes for DR GEORGE.
Feel better vibes for DR ELMORE.

Thursday - tonight we run ALL of Act One with music....starting at 7 p.m. and ending at ?????
-
Hopefully the stupid orphans who have been marking their gymnastic tricks since we started rehearsal will actually DO THEM tonight....they run from one side of the stage to the other and do a little hop....TA DA!
I hate gymnastics in dance routines.....NOT entertaining and dangerous, too..... Where did these orphans in 1933 learn to do side aerials and backflips anyway? That hateful movie had them all flipping and flopping, too. So the choreographer told me "The audience expects it....."
Why not disappoint the audience just this once?
-
TOD:
Ibegin with:
Carroll Baker who seems to have retired, although she is acting in one her daughter's short films.....

Thursday morning greetings! This is the first day since Saturday that I haven't had to be up and outta here for something before noon and I'm really in the slow lane.

Belated birthday wishes to DR FJL!

Stretching the TOD, but on the subject of "unsung actors" :) - with Diana Rigg getting a Tony nomination in a Musical without singing or dancing at all. And still stuck on the joys of "Show Me"
I heard a rumor (not really) they may add a number for Diana Ms. Rigg to sing after the curtain call for while the Tony voters are there, if Alan Jay Lerner OKs it.
Tune of “Show Me" again
Notes, notes, notes, yes they hit those notes
Yes, I know dear Renée
Has a perfect high A.
This isn’t the Met, it’s Broad-way!
No solo turn, nor a duet
Still I should get - Tony!
Haven’t you heard all the acclaim
Just call my name - Tony!
Here I am with notices that worship and adore
I may not sing, but how I score.
Holding it against me that the mother has no song
That’s sexist, ageist and wrong!
Don’t give me cash, don’t give me bling
Give me one thing – Tony! Tony!
I’m not too proud, I’ll take a tie.
Let's Rigg the voting somehow.
Tony now!

HA!
I like the orphans comment too, DR FJL.
-
DR GINNY rain and thunderstorms all day.....should be good for the book sale.
-
Bravo, FJL!

Beautiful, Fred. Diana Rigg has been a favorite since the other Avengers (the good one).

Three happy campers at Hello, Dolly!
I'm seated next to friend Brad who directed our I Do! I Do! and composed/authored/directed Wreck the Halls.
Edit: Um, sorry about the hand. Selfies are NOT my specialty.

We were totally happy with our TDF seats, which not only were together but were good 3rd row mezzanine seats. Just a few seats closer to center would have been perfect. But for our $47 gamble? Wonderful!

Well, I had a free small chocolate ice cream cone at Baskin-Robbins using a coupon from Keith's birthday.
I then had some See's candy. I am sure that helped satisfy my chocolate cake craving.

Nice photos DR Chas. Your selfie expression is relaxed, so many selfie photos are simply odd looking.

We are not very good at taking selfies and begin laughing to hard to take the photo.

It is a very pretty morning here in Tacoma.

from Jane
Tom, I never realized you pronounce your name with lund instead of land. Is that your own preference or how your father pronounced it?
I don't know that I ever remember hearing my father say his last name. i suppose it is my own preference. There is no one else left in the family that has the name, so I guess I can say it any way that I want.
-
Nice hand photo, Chas! Which theater is Dolly appearing?
-
It's 91 degrees F today. The cats and I can barely move. I'm not turning on the AC yet.

Nice photos DR CHAS SMITH.
I think the show is at the Shubert Theatre, DR TCB.....but not the one in San Francisco.....

What next?

Thank you, Elmore and Jrand.

I don't believe I have ever been in the Shubert Theater.
My first show at the Shubert was Promises, Promises, August 1969.

I saw A CHORUS LINE there in 1985.....it was a pretty tired show by then.....but still a lot of fun to see!
Saturday night on Broadway....and 8 principles were out....of a show about wanting to dance....on Broadway..... But the people who did go on were very good.....

You certainly can.
Is your name Norwegian?
BIRKELAND Norwegian
Derived from Old Norse birki "birch" and land "farm, land". Birkeland is the name of a village and parish in western Norway. The parish got it's name from an old farm. The parish church was built on the same spot where the farm once was.
Or Polish?

And now, I need to get to sleep. I have to get up early to get my teeth cleaned.
Have a good day, all!
Well...it turns out that today was NOT my dental appointment! It actually was my EYE appointment! :o I went to my dentist all they way out in Lacey, and they said that my appointment wasn't until Tuesday. It wasn't until that moment that I realized that I totally goobered up!! I went out to my car and called my eye doctor, and they asked if I could get there in 20 minutes (it was 10:20 by this time. My appointment was supposed to be at 10:15). I said that I could and they said that they'd make it work. I RUSHED over to the west side of Olympia and got there in about 15 minutes. It turns out that another patient got there early and they gave him my time, and I got to take his time (and now I was early for that), so it all turned out well! And the best part is that my prescription didn't change from last year! I don't need new lenses! WHEW!!

Today I started my 2017 tax prep. All that dental work over the winter put me behind in EVERYTHING. I always break my tax work down into pieces and just do one piece at a time. I was pleased to get the first piece done. Hopefully, there won't be anything this time that requires an archeological dig through years and years of old files. That can be sooo annoying!

Yes, but we will also be checking to see that all is well with the work that was done. Then we'll know if I need a follow-up treatment plan. BUT, no drilling next week. And there's always that little bakery next door with the mini pies.
-
I think I need a nap. I've been dragging all day.
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Oh dear, what a wacko day so far. I didn't fall asleep until four due to an active brain. The phone rang at around nine-thirty, then I went back to bed and didn't get up till about eleven-thirty.
-
So, I'm up.
-
I had to answer some e-mails, then grab a quick bite to eat (chicken tenders), pick up one package, and then back home.
-
Then I spent an hour trying to record the song from the other day, which I didn't seem to be able to play and sing at the same time, even though there is actually little accompaniment to the thing - that will be fleshed out in the orchestration in terms of where instruments will be added to what I'm doing - I know the harmonization and chords but if I tried to play THAT and sing no recording would be possible. I finally got it okay and sent that on.
-
I had to shave and do some stuff around here, and now it's almost rehearsal time.
-
I plan to spend my day doing as little as possible. Since the weekend, I've had bad ains in my left side between my shoulder and hip. Many more people are going to end up in the "standard deduction" rather than "itemized deductions" for 2018, because the standard deduction will be going up. I've had to remind people that if deductions belong in 2017, be careful to include them in 2017 rate rthan ever playing catch-up in 2018.

Jane I have never been satisfied with vicarious chocolate
-
Fred Meyer sent me a text my prescription is ready to pick up. I never remember the number to know which one is ready, however, the addition of telling me the estimated cost helps. I do know which 90 day script is $100.00.
-
Jane I have never been satisfied with vicarious chocolate
I think it worked cuz I ate so much chocolate during the day-lol.
-
It was surprisingly warm and muggy today. It has cooled down with a nice breeze.
-
Jane I have never been satisfied with vicarious chocolate
Not for me neither. Virtual chocolate is a crime.
-
Today I got lazy and read.
-
It was blissful.
-
Tonight we boiled lobster. One woman in the group led the steaming. It took about a half hour to get the five-pounder done. We were all happy.
-
A friend from college came over from Connecticut. Great to see him.
-
Fred, thanks for the reminder about the tax law changes. I was just getting the numbers together like I usually would, but I really should keep the new law in mind. My 2018 return will give me a better idea of how the new law affects my tax situation.

Vixmom, can you give up an update from your cardiology visit?
-
Vixmom, can you give up an update from your cardiology visit?
Thanks for asking , I was afraid I was getting a little self indulgent
-
Today's EKG was good and my blood pressure was excellent, of course the function of the med I'm on us to regulate my heartbeat and lower my blood pressure so the results are hardly surprising.
-
I did ask if he could change the med from twice a day to once at night (my coworker with a similar issue does that) this med keeps me feeling fairly fuzzy , not something I enjoy at work
-
I have togobacknext week to get fitted with a halter ,but it will only be fir 24 hours since we already have the EKG from the urgent care that showed me in the midst of a full blown attack
-
I thought I would have a leisurely bath before my appointment this morning and after Vixdad left for work I was preparing to do just that
-
And then the phone rang
-
Vixdad had left his monthly ticket at home and was now standing at the platform if the station one stop further west than the one where his car was
-
He could of course just paid for the fare it's ways, but he also had the badge that allows him access to his work site in the same holder
-
So Vixmom to the rescue,I leaped into the car (well I did put some clothes on first, it's not that kind of story) and drive to meet him at the other station.
-
Of course there were the requisite roadworks and truck drivers with the goal to memorize every blade of grass along the route in my way so you time I got home my leisurely bath and bit if breakfast turned into a quick shower and a glass of OJ
-
To make up for it I stopped home after my appointment and made myself 2 eggs over easy and 3 little sausages which I ate all up prior to heading into the office
-
Finally finished with rehearsals, then did a bit of work at the piano. So much fun to have Donny Most with us.
-
Jane I have never been satisfied with vicarious chocolate

Was the answer yes? If so, is that the 2 doses all at once or half what you have been taking?

I have togobacknext week to get fitted with a halter ,but it will only be fir 24 hours since we already have the EKG from the urgent care that showed me in the midst of a full blown attack
In one respect it is good you were able to have the EKG to read what your attacks look like.

Finally finished with rehearsals, then did a bit of work at the piano. So much fun to have Donny Most with us.
It is great you have fun at work.

Well, it's time to leave work and go to rehearsal. Tonight, we're supposed to run the show off book. I'm not exactly there (I'm probably closer than I think), but we can still call for lines.
Be back later.
Well, we got through the show fairly well!
-
I got through my spoken lines and my sung solo lines without any goobers!
-
Now, I just need to learn the chorus stuff. ::)
-
;)

Today's EKG was good and my blood pressure was excellent, of course the function of the med I'm on us to regulate my heartbeat and lower my blood pressure so the results are hardly surprising.
Very nice!

I recorded the Sutton Foster concert on PBS last week, but forgot about Leslie Odom, Jr.'s concert the week before. :(
-
But, it turns out that it's available on Comcast's On Demand!
-
I'm watching and recording that to my DVD burner.
-
And tomorrow night is Stephanie J. Block's concert!
-
I'm really looking forward to hers. ;D

I have no idea if there's a concert scheduled for the week after SJB.
-
Good evening.

Sutton Foster was the first week. Leslie Odom Jr. was the second week.

Andrew Rannells is on May 11.
-
Tonight I had the Southwest Chicken Bowl from Freshly for dinner.
-
Personally, I would have never prepared corn with sweet potatoes and quinoa, but it was okay.
-
It was a good sized chicken breast, and the black beans and stuff was very tasty.
-
Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano is currently erupting.
-
Oh, and Roger Moore is still dead.

Earlier tonight, I bough the Blu-ray of The Slipper and the Rose: The Story Of Cinderella (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENP2R1S/). I didn't realize that was ever available on Blu-ray.

I guess I missed seeing Ben Davis in KISS ME KATE.
