Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in hot water, and now it is time for you to post until the hot water cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EKISTICS!
-
Whew! Almost had a birthday wish deesaster but thankfully I caught it in time.
-
Thanks, BK, for the birthday cheer in your notes!
-
Today, I turn 52 years old! There's nothing specifically special about that particular age. It's just what it is. ;D
-
My friend Margo's best friend is Marsha. Over the years I've gotten to know Marsha and as it turns out, her birthday is also today. She just retired from her job with the state (I don't know what she specifically did) and she's throwing herself a potluck retirement/birthday party at Tumwater Falls Park. Her party is scheduled from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. My birthday party with my family will start at 4 or so, so I'll be able to go to hers.
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
A very happy birthday to George. No matterhowbusy you are you always seem to find time to help others.
-
Yesterday I had a nice productive day at work, then went to the market and came home to make dinner
-
I browned up some ground beef and seasoned it with my Penzeys taco seasoning and adobo seasoning , then sautéed some red, yellow and green peppers slices with some sliced onions.
-
I took flour tortillas, sprinkled with shredded Mexican cheese blend, then layered with proper onion mixture, then meat Then cheese and then a flour tortilla and then toasted both sides in a skillet.,
-
Served topped with guacamole, sour cream and salsa
-
For Vixdad's I added sliced raw grape tomatoes and omitted the guacamole
-
Tidied the kitchen and then received a text from the pharmacy that my new heart med was ready so I popped out and picked that up
-
By then it was about 9
-
Came home, took my medicine, sat in the recliner and then it was now
-
No recollection of feeling drowsy, just suddenly it's morning.
-
Happy birthday to dear George!

I stayed up too late finishing a book, so I got uip at 8:00, fed the babies, and went back to bed.

I am now behind my usual schedule by two hours and Annabelle's anxious to patrol the building. Another cuppa coffee, and I'll begin my chores.

The band rehearsal and sitzprobe went quite well yesterday. Joshie and I had a festive gathering at the music table - John Bell, David Gursky, Don Oliver, Joshie, and I - and I saw several dear friends, including Don Stephenson and Simon Jones. I'm really excited for our director Warren Carlyle, who directed and choreographed Finian's Rainbow; his ballet "Something to Dance About," with arrangements by Rob Berman, premiered at NY City Ballet two nights ago. I really love Warren, who's one of the best.

My laptop is on the fritz and needs a new motherboard. So I’m doing this on my iPhone. It’s not the easiest thing to do here. So I might be in and out for the next few days
-
My Facebook page is all screwed up this moring. I have no newsfeed so except for Friend Requests and "People You Might Know," the page is blank. Ur worked fine last night. i've rebooted the computer, rebooted the modem, and still nothing. What really iks me is I cannot find a goddam think of FB to contact a person for help. I thought the problem might be FB, but if anyone else is bitching about it, it won't show on my Newsfeed.
-
Saturday morning greetings! I sold lots of books yesterday. They're open all day today and noon-5 tomorrow for the $7 bag sale. I work again tomorrow 3:45-close.
-
Richard and I went to the Miami University Men's Glee Club concert last night in Oxford. They performed a lot of commissioned works. My observation is that the more explanation a piece needs beforehand, the weirder it's going to be. I mean, do we really need a choral work about the Flint drinking water crisis?
-
The photos arrived yesterday. Have to scan them. Sobecause of the laptop problem I have to wait until next week to post them.
-
And while this day continues strange: do you all remember the hot pink cage I used to keep Thatch safe while he and Annabelle were socializing last November? On Nov. 29, the Animal Project asked me to call one of their volunteers about picking it up since I was finished with it. I called and left a message and yesterday while I was out, only five months later, I got a call about picking it up!
Oy!

I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep. She of the Evil Eye has arrived and I'm bidin' my time 'cause that's the kind of guy I'm.

MR BK did Lisa McCoy ever order her copy of Evening Primrose?

We have a BRAND NEW microwave.
Last night I noticed that our old one - that is eight years old - began popping and arcing last night. I went to WalMart about 7 a.m. and bought a new Oster Microwave for only $79.....
Of course it isn't RED like our old one - I got stainless steel to match the rest of our appliances.
I do not know if I can put the old one out for the garbage man on Monday, I have to check the inner web.
-
I turned on the television, and I saw a lot of guys running around a football field chasing each other with butterfly nets.
It turns out that it was the College Lacrosse National Championships. It was most entertaining.

Because I cannot live on what my income and social security make without additional income since they only cover my rent, utilities, cell phone and Medicare. I need to make so much extra per month to cover my other bills, food, and living expenses.

1. work picks up
2. we sell that Ohio property so I have a financial cushion
3. I win the lottery

And now, I must be off! I must shower, get dressed, feed my cat, feed myself, go shopping to get some foodstuffs for Marsha's birthday/retirement potluck, go to Marsha's birthday/retirement potluck, then go to my sister's for my birthday party with my family!
Until later!

Back from a light breakfast - I decided to do that and eat lighter tonight - there was no way for me to go until six-thirty without food. That used to be easy, but I get very ornery these days.

Jane, I finished MAJOR CRIMES a few weeks ago. I had mixed feelings about the series at the start, but actually I felt it held up quite well. I give a lot of credit to the writers. Was it time to conclude it? Yes. But the regulars in the cast had an amazing run. First, THE CLOSER, then MAJOR CRIMES. That enabled many to buy homes and send their kids to college, I suspect. And the young actor who played Rusty has certainly established himself.

There's a new show on Acorn TV about Bletchley Park. I'm a sucker for stories about Bletchley. I may watch some tonight.

Nope, I was not usedtobringing it yet as it wasn't part of my routine, I need to take my thyroid med on an empty stomach, but the heart med must be taken with food, so I had to take it with me and then eat something once I got to work(also not part of my routine I usually don't eat breakfast except for Saturdays and sometimes Sundays )
But I also did need to skip the morning one before I took the new one anyway because the new dose is twice the amount of the previous one and I would have had too much in my system , so it all worked out, I just changed up a day earlier than I would have

Vixmom, yes, I do believe you would have very much enjoyed this Addams Family.
-
Really fun stumble-through sans our guest stars. Bill Hayes came but his wife wasn't feeling well and so I let him go back to her, and Donny Most was under the weather and didn't want to push his voice. Everyone did great - a few lyric and piano flubs, nothing major.
-
Then I had a salad, scampi, and mousse at Barone's, all good.

I read that as Scampi and Mouse.....I think that's an Italian law firm on Santa Monica Blvd.
Do you think the Wilder film would have still become a classic if it had been titled:

I wouldn't want to have to eat at bedtime in order to take my medication.

Tonight’s meal was homestyle meatloaf and peas with pearl onions. Both of those were very good. Also included was mashed cauliflower. I did not care for that, as much.
-
What would be wrong with regular cauliflower? Did they think they were fooling us into believing we were eating mashed potatoes?
-
If I order that meal again (doubtful), I will add butter and pepper, and maybe a little cheese.

Still, it filled me up.

I make a better meatloaf.

Actually, I guess that should be ’’made.”
