Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a good stumble-through, and now it is time for you to post until the stumbling through cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REMUNERATION!
-
The Freshly meatloaf is my favorite thing they do. I'll be interested to hear what TCB thinks of the others.
-
First post after BK.
-
Get Well Vibes to the Lovely Susan Seaforth Hayes!
-
Thank you, George for the vibes for my niece.
-
The Freshly meatloaf is my favorite thing they do. I'll be interested to hear what TCB thinks of the others.
Have you tried the shrimp one, BK?
-
I was afraid to try the shrimp. I've had most of the pastas - penne with sausage was pretty good. I've had all the chili things - none great, but not bad. And I've had the chicken risotto many times and enjoy that.
-
I’ll have to try the chicken risotto. I have one of the chilis in the frig now.
-
DR TCB, SUPER VIBES FOR YOUR DEAR NIECE. I am very sorry she has to have surgery again.

Do you like the mashed cauliflower?
-
DR TCB, SUPER VIBES FOR YOUR DEAR NIECE. I am very sorry she has to have surgery again.
Thank you, Jane.
-
Good night.
-
I think they mean it to look liked mashed potatoes - it's pretty flavorless, but a little butter and salt picked it right up :)
-
I'm listening to another Blu Spec CD, some kind of technology that produces much more accurate music from normal CDs. It's not SACD, but the two I now have are so far above their regular CD counterparts - I mean it's a HUGE difference for the better. This one is George Szell conducting the first and third movements of the Mahler Tenth (the short third movement had never been released before), Walton's Partita for Orchestra, and Stravinsky's The Firebird - all these performances are perfection and I am just bowled over by the uptick in sound.
-
I think I would rather have my cauliflower steamed and whole vs mashed.
-
I'm not a fan of cauliflower.
-
So, last night, we're watching a documentary on HBO about Nora Ephron, when our TV cable box goes out.
The other smaller TVs in the house are okay, but our main one won't be fixed until Tuesday.
Since they will probably switch out boxes, everything we have recorded will be lost.
:( >:(
-
Good morning, all!
-
Facebook is back in fie fettle this morning. When I went to bed around 10:45 last night, it was still down.
-
I'm hoping for a quiet day. I'd like to chill out with Thatch and Annabelle and watch the cooking shows.
-
Today is Randy and Jo's 23rd wedding anniversary. She's having surgery on Wednesday and could use some really healthy vibes.
-
And speaking of vibes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Break-A-Leg Vibes for BK & Co. and tonight's show! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning!
Vibes for TCB, Nicky and TCB's niece!
Vibes for Jo!
A year ago today, Barbra performed in Brooklyn. I hope it doesn't turn out to be her last concert.
-
Health vibes for DR vixmom!
Speaking of retirement (well, it came up yesterday), I'm thinking of retiring this year. It's a big decision and I don't want to regret it later.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Last night I said I'd go to the big flea market this morning. Well, the weather (chilly and rainy) just saved me from having to do that! Basking in my Sunday morning at home.
(Think: recliner, cinnamon rolls, coffee...)
-
Big vibes to BK & Co. for a wonderful show tonight!
I don't think I'd heard of Blu Spec before this. I just glanced over the relatively few classical titles tagged as such on Amazon, and this one sounds the most appealing. Essential, even. Damn. Another temptation. But one I shall resist for a while.
Health vibes for DR Elmore's Jo!
-
Health and surgery vibes for TCB's niece, and health vibes for DC Nicky!
-
I'm on my second cuppa coffee and watching Annabelle and Thatch wrestle. She's been impatient for me to clean the litter so we can patrol the building, but i'm moving very slowly this morning.
-
Break legs, BK and company!
-
I'm ready for a third cup and an Entenmann's cinnamon roll.
You can do it DR KEVIN.
-
DR ELMORE I'm going to put a couple of friends on your property selling....is there any chance that the development people from a few years ago would still be interested? I keep getting this from the cards I lay out for the situation.
-
Today is our program committee meeting where no one listens to reason and we end up with the worst combination of shows in community theatre history.....i.e. this season:
ANNIE
THE MOUSETRAP
DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
BAREFOOT IN THE PARK
Two Kid-Centric BIG musicals in the same season....why? The plays are better choices....but still....why?
This is followed by our May Board Meeting and the auditions for THE MOUSETRAP, wherein many people who should only be allowed into the theatre if they buy a ticket will show up to advertise their not-able-to-read skills....to say nothing of their "accents."
-
Usually our plays with accents turn out to be sort of a Cook's Tour of Europe and Asia....with a bit of South America for good measure.
South America, take it away!
Show vibes for MR BK & Co.
How did I miss this?
Ditto!
I need to make a market trip.
-
I got sidetracked by a real desire to mop the bathroom floor and clean up the mess left after the bathtub overflow. Once the floor is dry and I can put things back, I'll make my market jaunt.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! Enjoying some solitude while the other 3/4 of our household is at church.
-
Richard and I attended the Middletown Historical Society annual fundraising dinner last night. It's always a nice event and the program was all about WPFB, the late local radio station.
Maybe the theatre should get ahead of the curve on this. :)
Who knows? Maybe the "Last Starfighter" film remake will be sooner than we thought:
I am playing with Keith’s iPad, trying to decide if I should get one or another Samsung.
-
The bathroom is finished. It really needed a good cleaning, and I will shortly make my market trek.
-
Break a leg to BK, Don Most (who will always have been THE Donny to the not-yet-out Yeshivah of Flatbush boys in Brooklyn), and the Hayes's and company!
-
No offense to Donny Osmond, of course - but it did seem that way.
Later edit: I guess that needed explanation; Donny Most was a Flatbush native, even went to Barbra's Erasmus High School.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I was determined to get eight hours of sleep and I did!
-
Both the tablets I was looking at were on sale for the same price, pros and cons on each but not a big difference between them. The Samsung rep at Best Buy would have set it up for me but I went with the iPad mini 4 in the 7.9 size. Supposedly it should automatically download everything from my iPhone and Keith's iPad. It should be fairly simple for Keith to do-lol.
-
I need a particular style cover which Keith found for me with my Samsung. Had Nook stopped selling the best covers I would have purchased a Nook again.
Fingers crossed I can find what I want, and in the color purple. The cover must have a place inside to hold notes and my library info. I'm not fussy at all ;)
-
Just relaxing. Shaved and will shortly shower, after which I'll mosey on over to The Federal for sound check and then show.
-
Hot water's out again - thankfully enough left for shaving and showering but it's gone now. Already told Grant's wife, and hopefully they plumbers can come today or in the morning to fix. But clearly this earthquake thing is set to way too sensitive a level and needs to be fixed. Although why this hasn't happened in the last four months is also a question.
I got sidetracked by a real desire to mop the bathroom floor...
That's a desire that's quite unknown to me.
I have a question for Jrand:
From time to time my doctor asks me to do a occult blood test, which tests for blood in the stool. They're easy to do at home. Jack, did your doctors have you do these? I'm wondering if serious problems might not show up there.
Show vibes for BK and cast.
Our meeting was okay - I let my choices be known.....and then I auditioned for The Mousetrap....which went okay - but then again who knows?
There were some interesting folks there - I knew 4 of the 6....one girl was very irritating and kept interrupting the director to help him explain to us what he meant.....
DR Jane I love Major Crimes and really enjoyed the final season. Why not just watch it alone?
I actually found MAJOR CRIMES too suspenseful to watch alone. Even during the big wedding, based on the prior seasons, I was sure SOME horrible crime was going to happen during the ceremony.
Thanks for the information. We all want diagnostics that catch these things early on. My doctor told me that they can really tell a lot from the occult blood test--not only IF there is a problem, but WHERE in the lengthy colon. I'm happy to do them, but I'd not heard of them until a couple years ago. Don't know if their use is widespread or not.
And any sort of "occult" test would seem to be right up your alley. ;)
DR Jeanne I prefer an inside pocket which my last two covers have had. This time I ordered a cover with an outside pocket as the design looks best for using the iPad fingerprint option.
I cancelled my tablet cover order. I decided to make sure I like the new tablet before purchasing the cover.
You know how that rattle in the car disappears when you take it into the repair shop, well my tablet is not losing its charge as quickly tonight.
Back from a really great show - everyone was in tip-top form. Little Peyton was adorable, but not quite as on top of the song as she was at sound check and the stumble-through, which is a really valuable lesson we'll talk about in a few days. She ate too close to the show - I think that was the real problem. But she still socked it over - Richard played a wrong chord up top that didn't help anything, and she went up on one line at the end, but the song works great and she'll be great in the show. Our replacement guy did a fantastic job, although he was making up lyrics to Come to the Supermarket like crazy - no one really knew. Shannon Warne and Jean Louisa Kelly were on fire, and Daniel Bellusci did a great job. We ended up with a pretty good crowd, most of them last-minute reservations. In the first third of the show I found the audience a little hard to figure - laughs, yes, but I'm not sure this was a musical theatre savvy crowd. But when I got to the patter for A Chorus Line I had a laugh in there about the film version - that of course you'd hire a Brit whose last film was Ghandi to direct a quintessentially Broadway story. Several got it but not enough and I just went off the page and began a series of improvised Ghandi lines that garnered huge laughs and that became a running gag throughout the show, completely out of nowhere - the kind of stuff I love. Anyway, it was a wonderful evening. The Shermans were there and that's always great. He's read the first half of GEE and loves it - he, like Jane, is really taking his time and savoring it.
That's great, BK!
