Good morning, all!
-
Thatch is behaving
strangely stranger than usual this morning. For instance, he and Annabelle are usually on top of me while I prepare their breakfast. Instead, he played with one of his toys and Annabelle ate her breakfast and most of his.
-
My college friend Steve is coming into town today to meet some co-workers around 6:00, so we'll have lunch this afternoon.
-
After I tidy up, I will call our DR ChasSmith and check on the state of things.
-
Give him my love!
-
Recovery vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.

T.O.D.
One of my very first publicity clients was a weird actor, Aram Katcher.
He reminded me of a poor man's Peter Lorre. He played Napoleon several times.
Very strange. One of his first movies was SCARAMOUCHE with Stewart Granger. In the final shot of the movie, he's seen as Napoleon (no lines).
When I represented him, he'd just finished an episode of I DREAM OF JEANNIE, in which he played Napoleon and caused nothing but problems on the set. Barbara Eden still laughs about it.
He even made his own -- unwatchable -- movies.
When be wasn't acting, he owned a hair salon on Wilshire off Fairfax in Los Angeles.

I spoke to our DR ChasSmith. It was a short call. I feel I'm wasting his time while there are more pressing matters to be attended to.
He was able with his phone to access HHW briefly last night. He says that none of us has any idea of the scope of the mess, and I understand completely. It's most essential to clear the driveway of the fallen trees. Until then, the propane company cannot reach the house to refill the generator tanks and there's no info on when the utility company can restore power and wifi to the house. If the generator dies before power is restored, it's going to be bad.

Post deleted. sometimes there are no words.

I think now I can imagine what his driveway might look like. I hope some of his help is from professional tree people.

VIBES THE DRIVEWAY IS CLEARED AND THE POWER IS RESTORED BEFORE THE GENERATOR GOES OUT!
-
Good morning.
-
Vixmom, I imagine I will be Grandma. The other grandma will be Lola.
-
Sending vibes to Chas for the recovery from the storm.

I hope you have a better day today, TCB.

Major vibes for DR Chas!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TOD:
Steve Buscemi
I tried to come up with a female weird actress, but couldn't. I even Googled "weird-looking female actresses" and all the images it pulled up looked perfectly lovely and normal, except for Rachel Dratch and she's not my favorite. When I Googled "weird-looking male actors", the first six images were of Steve Buscemi, which I thought was funny because I thought of him immediately, before I looked it up, and my opinion was wholeheartedly confirmed.
-
Sean Young.
-
I'm up, I'm up - not quite seven hours of sleep, maybe even closer to six. The helper is supposed to come this morning to get invoices but I think to him this morning means noon.
-
DR TCB I hope you are feeling better today. I am sorry your missed out on your pizza yesterday.
-
I have received this email to post to you all from our DR ChasSmith. I hope it answers all questions and concerns until he's back with us:
I was just able to log in and read this morning’s posts, tried to post one myself, and lost the whole damned thing because this cell bandwidth barely cuts it.
First, I’m so sorry I had to run so quickly this morning. I had to answer a distress call re some fresh hell. And to DR Elmore, please know you are no bother at all. Your calls have been a bright spot in the day.
No professionals can help because no one can even get to our driveway, let alone come up it. Our road is still blocked from both directions. All the work being done thus far is by us and a few neighbors. Only when there’s public access will we be able to get professionals in here.
I’ll post pictures to shock and awe when I have proper internet access. These will truly be worth a thousand words.
As for generator, we’re good for several days, and as soon as people can come up the driveway, I can have the fuel company come out to refill the propane tanks. With this generator, we’re living in the lap of luxury compared to those without. But we can’t even get the insurance people up here till things are cleared. Literally everything is waiting for that to happen.
Please give my best to everyone, and my sincere thanks for the good wishes!

Good afternoon, all.
-
Recovery vibes for DR ChasSmith. Sounds most intense.
-
Good to have that e-mail.
-
Oh my.
We had a long private dirt road going to our Ashland home that was maintained by the 6 lots. Thanks goodness we never had to deal with that kind of mess. A few times we had flooding on the road. Fortunately we had a long and excellent relationship with the guy who did our regular maintenance. On a Sunday, with out of town company at his house, he still rushed over to fix a section of the road above us so the people could drive home. Keith went up with a shovel and helped the neighbors and the crew working to fill in the road. We also helped, along with the stranded neighbors, to pay for the work. I remember what a mess it was. We also had trees down on our lot next to the driveway but not on it. Oh, and because the rains were continuing we cancelled a visit to L.A. because our neighbors were going to Hawaii. If we didn't cancel they would have had to. The joys of country living.

CONTINUED MESS CLEANING VIBES FOR DR CHAS!
-
NO INJURY VIBES WHILE CLEANING UP THE MESS!

Thanks for posting ChasSmith's update, Larry!

Congratulations on your excellent savings trip George
Thanks, Vixmom!

On my last FM trip I did not use as many coupons as you did. I would have purchased some Haagen-Daz ice cream using a coupon but the original price was too high. I didn't have time to use my apparel coupon. I like their belts and slippers.

DR CHAS SMITH's post makes anything happening here seem inconsequential....
We are having our elm tree removed and our silver maple topped and our crab apple tree trimmed.....of course my brother came down and said that the man was cutting himself some firewood, and I said the tree man could do pretty much what he wanted.....then my brother left.
-
Thursday afternoon greetings from HOME! I had a very smooth 5-hour drive from my sister’s and now I have 3 days to get ready to go away for 2 weeks with Richard.
-
Start getting ready NOW DR GINNY!
-
I am now on my way to impersonate FDR and tell some kid that her parents kicked the bucket.
-
Oh and sing, too.
-
Three!
-
I had a nice visit and lunch with my friend Steve. We caught up on friends, family, his children, my cats, his rescue dog Charlie. His ex-wife Rebecca was on - and may be still - the staff of Scholastic, the Harry Potter publishers. I've sent her an email about the Annabelle and Thatch stories.

Was it ok that I laughed about your brother? I am sorry you are having this issue with him. He could have negotiated a price with the guy for firewood.
I hope you are pleased with the end results.

Did you keep your schedule light over the next 3 days?
-

;D Have fun.
-
What is this page three malarky? ChasSmith has a real problem - do the rest of you have trees in your driveway and no power?
-
And barely page three at that.
-
Had an interesting notion for the one song that's left to go (at least at this point), based on an existing melody from something I wrote last year for a private event. I love the tune so I've been rewriting the lyric to see if I can make it work.
-
I am just dealing with stuff today.
-
Good evening!
-
Lots of vibes for DR ChasSmith!
-
Page 3 Malarkey!
-
Well, I got a new computer here at work, and so far it works!
-
I've been checking things and there are a couple of tweaks that our IT department need to make, then it'll just like my previous computer. Or at least, it'll be as usable as my previous computer.
-
And now, I'm off to the theater! Tonight is our one and only pay-what-you-can performance, so who knows what the audience will be like. ;)
Until later!
-
Feel better vibes for TCB!

Nanny, Mimi, Oma.....
My great-nephew calls my sister-in-law (his grandmother) Gaga.
-
I wish there was something we cOuld do for Chas besides sending vibes
-
Although I do send most fervent vibes that the road can be cleared and help canbe gotten to them soon
-
I keep imaging the destruction we saw here on Long Island after Sandy and hoping it's not as bad as I fear
-
Hello, everyone.
-
MEGA vibes to DR Chas and his roomies and neighbors.
-
I wish there was something we cOuld do for Chas besides sending vibes
Well, I'm trying to organize a fleet of drones to air-drop some muscled and motivated males with chainsaws and plenty of propane. So far, the FAA isn't going for it. I guess they're busy trying to divert air traffic away from the volcano on Hawaii.
-
;D

I imagine every tornado is different. One passed over Old Town Alexandria when I lived there. It didn't touch down--it just passed over--yet it did quite a bit of damage. I imagine DR Chas has a chainsaw and also has some experience with this sort of thing. Still a LOT of work, but hopefully they can get through it.
-
I hope TCB is feeling good today.
-
I'm still trying to take care of the must-do items on my to-do list. Given that I do as much shopping as I can on the Internet, it amazes me that there's always so much else to do. Grrr.
-
Time for din-din.
TTFN.

Health vibes for TCB

Break a leg vibes for George and Co

Page four? Really?

And only two posts on page four? Really?
-
Oh, okay.
-
Sorry, but goodnight.
-
And now, I'm off to the theater! Tonight is our one and only pay-what-you-can performance, so who knows what the audience will be like. ;)
Until later!
Tonight's PWYC audience was a good audience.

Break a leg vibes for George and Co
Thanks, Vixmom!
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
FINALLY!
-
Hi, George.
-
I have had no WIFI at all this evening.
-
I have fiddled and plugged/unplugged and swore......
-
I have had no WIFI at all this evening.
My WIFI has been unusually wonky tonight. I had to unplug my modem/router a couple of times!
-
I don’t know why, but this last time did it.
-
I went and had a nice brunch with Betzy today.
-
I had breakfast and Betzy had lunch.
-
I ordered the bacon and eggs.
-
I had breakfast and Betzy had lunch.
Nice.
-
That is usually what Betzy orders.
-
But for some reason, today, she wanted a cheeseburger and fries.
-
Actually, I wanted sausage and biscuits all morning.
-
But when it came down to it, I switched.
-
It was good, but I would have been happier with the sausage and biscuits.
-
Then I stopped at Safeway to pick up a few things.
-
But when it came down to it, I switched.
It was good, but I would have been happier with the sausage and biscuits.
I have made too many decisions like that. ::)
-
I ended up forgetting almost everything I went in to get.
-
I ended up forgetting almost everything I went in to get.
That happens a lot to me, too!
-
But I did remember to buy some Magnum Double Caramel ice cream bars.
-
One more post.

Is anyone getting up to watch the wedding on Saturday?
-
I am thinking about it.
-
But I did remember to buy some Magnum Double Caramel ice cream bars.
Yummy!
-
I watched his mum and dad get married while suffering from a severe case of sunstroke.
-
But I did remember to buy some Magnum Double Caramel ice cream bars.
Yummy!
I hope so, I haven’t tried them yet.
-
Is anyone getting up to watch the wedding on Saturday?
I will be sleeping, then I have a matinee, then I'm dining with my friend Margo before I usher for La Cage aux Folles at South Puget Sound Community College.
-
I was living in Jersey at the time.
-
But I did remember to buy some Magnum Double Caramel ice cream bars.
Yummy!
I hope so, I haven’t tried them yet.
I don't think I've had that specific flavor either, but I've had other flavors and they were good! This one sounds quite yummy.
-
My friend Paul and I had gone down to Wildwood on the Jersey shore.
-
It was too hot to go on the beach, so we spent most of the day on the boardwalk.
-
I didn’t even think of the sun’s reflection off of the ocean.
-
By the time we got back to Lodi, I was so sick.
-
By the time we got back to Lodi, I was so sick.
Oh, no!
-
My bedroom was the couch in the living room with the TV.
-
So I spent the whole night of the royal wedding drifting in and out of consciousness.
-
So I spent the whole night of the royal wedding drifting in and out of consciousness.
I can't imagine being that sick. :-\
-
So, what happened? Did you recover??
-
;)
-
Yes, I did recover. It took a couple of days and lots and lots of liquids.
-
Some of the liquids were actually non-alcoholic!
-
Yes, I did recover. It took a couple of days and lots and lots of liquids.
Yikes.
-
Some of the liquids were actually non-alcoholic!
Well, that's good! ;D

Well...

Well, thank you George! We done it.

My work here is done.

I'm waiting for the titles to go live - could be another thirty minutes or so.

A Community College is doing La CAGE??

A Community College is doing La CAGE??
Yup. I know a couple of people in the show, so I'm glad I get to see it.
-
Reminds me of Lakewood Playhouse’s audition notice for ANGELS IN AMERICA.
