Well, you've read the notes, the notes identified as notes and had gender equality, and now it is time for you to post until the transgender cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RAILLERY!
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR JRand67, your story that you attributed to Patricia Morison happened to her Kiss Me, Kate costar Lisa Kirk on the Rodgers & Hammerstein show Allegro during "The Gentleman Is A Dope." I've been reading the new Rodgers & Hammerstein book, Something Wonderful.
-
After I tidy up this morning, I have a few errands to run. then it's back to How To Succeed . . .
-
Good morning, all.

I’m waiting for that audiobook to come in to the library. It’s about all the reading time I have lately.
-
Not a free moment today. I hope I have time for lunch.
-
Good day to all
-
I hate the term "reboot" when they remake movies/tv series or have more sequels.

Have we linked this NY Times Book Review podcast about that R&H book before? (I think this link should work.)

TOD: The one that's been annoying me for its overuse for a recent while is the sarcastic "Go ahead, you know you want the last word." About 90% of the time, someone defying you about your wanting the last word really clearly wants to have the last word themselves.
-
Good morning, all.

We didn’t get power back till about midnight last night, but what a luxury to have it again and not be constantly thinking “conservation!”.
Cable is supposed to be back on the street by this evening, but for us that also depends on the condition of the pole on the neighbor’s property that our line is run from. So I may or may not have internet then.
Land line phone might be a couple more days.
And so it goes.
-
So I still won’t be able to post a lot till the cable’s back.
-
The movie outing yesterday was wonderful, and the cliches must be rolled out for this one...
It was literally (and I mean that literally) the best — no, beyond the best — that NxNW has ever looked and ever sounded. A revelation. I could go on and on about it, but not while pecking on this phone.
The theater begins public showings soon, and by fall it will be in full swing.
-
DR Chas I am sorry I missed you. It is very nice to see your posts and know that the comforts of lhome life are returning.
-
Ah DR ELMORE thanks for the info....when I didn't see Morison in the cast list for either ALLEGRO or ME & JULIET, I figured it was someone else.....but I couldn't find my CD's of either show....that's where I read the story.....or it may have been in one of the Rodgers & Hammerstein books I have.....
-
TOD:
All of them....all of it....
None of what they say today is groovy like what we used to say....can you dig it?
-
Because of the rain on Friday, I did not pick up my watch or get to the post office. I am home from those errands, and my watch is good as new. It's quite delightful outside, expected high of 78 F.

I just happened to read the story last night.

Serendipity do.
-
I received three Kritzerland CD's in my mailbox today.

Excellent timing.
-
I'm up, I'm up - doorbell woke me ten minutes before the alarm was to go off - wrong house. Six and a half hours of sleep.
-
Must find out more information on this 4K North by Northwest.
-
One of WB’s first, if not their very first, DCP.
“Floor” recording (did I hear the term correctly?) of main title music. Incredible.
And talk about seeing things you never saw before. Holy moley.
This is how movies should be seen.
-
What is the page one malarkey?
-
Work is a challenge today.
-
Let’s move on.
-
Two!
-

Ditto!

Great news, ChasSmith!

I had a cautionary reaction to the story the mother of the murder victim in that tragedy told, that the mother said her daughter stood up to the disturbed kid (she felt really upset by his having asked her out so many times when she'd said no) by shaming him in front of his and her entire class, saying she'd never go out with him in front of everybody. i wonder if teenagers should be given training to know that if a fellow student seems somehow dangerous or disturbed, it's possible the last thing you'd want to do is publicly humiliate a dangerous or disturbed person.
-
The entire show in its ENTIRETY tonight....so Pray for Rosemary's Baby.
Just got ANNIE's bio....she thanks everyone and his brother and the janitor.....but left someone out....yup....ME.....oh well.....
-
I shall return....I hope.

Training for the parents too. And teachers too if they hear this.

I went to the memorial for a restaurateur who died last week. It was crowded and they seemed to be there for the free food and wine.
-
I left.
-
Greetings from...
Panera Bread!
Drinking coffee and interneting a little bit. I wonder what I want to eat.

Hi DR Chas.
-
Howdy!
-
Monday evening greetings from Merrillville, Indiana! This is just a sleeping stop on our way to Richard’s seminary in Wisconsin, but I got to visit a paper crafting shop that I’ve been following for a while on Facebook. The coolest thing is that I’m Guest of the Day at the Fairfield Inn - welcome goodie bag, upgrade to a suite, and 200 bonus points added to my rewards account.
-
I think i got the last two CDs ordered okay.

That's pretty cool, Ginny! Congrats!

A very nice welcome. Did they say how you were chosen as the lucky person for the day?
-
Thanks, DRs George and Jane! I have no idea what I did to deserve this...
-
Good evening!
-
Page 2?
-
What is this Page 2 malarkey?
-
Glad to hear your power's back, DR ChasSmith!

Somehow I ended up watching episodes of "Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners" on youtube. It's a British show. Compulsive cleaners leave their homes and visit someone who does no cleaning (or hardly any) and cleans their house (and gives lots of advice). Some of the people clean their houses for 6 hours a day (or more).
-
After seeing the condition of some of the houses, I don't feel so bad about being messy.
-
I was inspired to clean out my microwave, however.
-
One more.
-
Page 3!
-
Page 3 at 8:50 pm Eastern?
-
Funny how the Brits say "hoovering" instead of "vacuuming."
-
I guess it's like calling tissues "Kleenex," no matter the brand.

Or scotch tape
-
Wonderful to see Chas has power
-
I hope that the insurance co covers the damage
-

;D
-
Saturday I finally went with Keith to his new gym, 24 Hour Fitness. I went again today and plan to join since my 3 consecutive free day pass is now expired.
-
Chances are I will let my muscles rest tomorrow and join another day.
-
I should have done this sooner as our new insurance offers a free senior membership there.

Can you give them mine, too?? ;)

Well, I don't want to stay here at work anymore tonight, so I'm leaving. I want to do a little shopping before I go home, so I will. :)
Be back later.
-
Wonderful to see Chas has power
Amen.

Mine goes in first.

The memorial service for Armand was well attended. But too many of the people seemed to have shown up for free wine and food. I left early.
-
Watching Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool. Annette Bening is no Gloria Grahame, but she's having fun. Jamie Bell, from Billy Elliott, is quite good.
-
Didn't realize Vanessa Redgrave has a bit scene in the movie.
-
Surprisingly affecting movie.
-
I am almost finished with Macbeth.
-
And two of the upcoming books on CD that I have reserved, including the new Stephen King, The Outside, are even longer. Oy.
-
The other is John Dos Passos' The Big Money, the last of the U.S.A. trilogy. I may read that one on my trip to Hawaii. I read the second volume in Massachusetts and Maine.
-
I've also started my second Andrew Sean Greer novel. He won the Pulitzer for Less, which I really enjoyed. Now it's The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells, which is starting slow but seems to be building.
-
Nothing much else happening here.
-
But that won't get us to page four any time soon.
-
This post takes us closer.
-
But no cigar.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Page four!
-
What is this page four malarkey?
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
The interesting thing about Film Stars is that they're unafraid to use clips of the real Gloria Grahame in the movie.
-
Good night, all.
-
'night
-
I'm watching previously recorded episodes of Antiques Roadshow from Spokane, Washington.
-
The two episodes from Spokane that I had were from 2016.
-
Good evening.
-
Page 4? Are you serious?
-
Why are down so many posts these last few days
-
I suppose part of the problem is DR Chas not having internet service.
-
And yet he has still managed to submit some posts,
-
Perhaps it is time for DR Elmore to teach his two babies how to post on this site.
-
Who else has been absent.
-
I guess we have lost DR Ron to Twitter.
-
Although, I don’t understand the appeal.
-
I don’t understand the appeal of Twitter, not Ron.
-
Ron we all
adore love enjoy when he is here.
-
It seems like everyone else has been posting.
-
I have no explanation.
-
I don’t understand the appeal of Twitter, not Ron.
I follow a few people on Twitter (Lin-Manuel Miranda, John Fugelsang, a local friend) but I've never posted anything myself.
-
I only have two followers. ::)
-
;)
-
But that applies to just about every topic.
-
Tonight I had another Freshly meal.
-
Tonight was meatloaf again with peas and pearl onions.
-
Plus my least favorite item........ mashed cauliflower.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I added butter and pepper.
-
I guess it helped a little.
-
Plus my least favorite item........ mashed cauliflower.
I added butter and pepper.
At least!
-
I realize that is being substituted for mashed potatoes.
-
TCB, which other meals have you had and enjoyed?
-
I bought some frozen mashed cauliflower from Schwan's, but I haven't actually tried it yet.
-
Maybe I should add some shredded cheese.
-
Rather chilly day so no jog. Had an early lunch - Cobb salad, no bread or anything.
-
Maybe I should add some shredded cheese.
That sounds like a good idea!
-
Or better yet, maybe I just won’t order the meatloaf again.
-
Or better yet, maybe I just won’t order the meatloaf again.
How was the meatloaf itself?
-
And I have spent every other minute finishing the song and finessing it relentlessly. I had a good - hour-long meeting, too.
-
And I did watch a movie.
-
TCB, which other meals have you had and enjoyed?
I liked the penne that you weren’t crazy about.
-
I had some kind of chicken bowl which I liked, as well.
-
Tomorrow is the chicken risotto.
-
I froze the chicken parmigiana, which didn’t sound so great when I actually got it.
-
I also have a sausage and peppers to try.
-
Or better yet, maybe I just won’t order the meatloaf again.
How was the meatloaf itself?
Okay. And I like peas.
-
I make a much better meatloaf.
-
Actually, a couple of different ones.
-
I actually really like Stoueffer’s meatloafs.
-
But, at the moment, I am really craving a Magnum ice cream bar.
-
I make a much better meatloaf.
It wouldn't surprise me!
-
I just had a Magnum ice cream bar.
-
Now I am content.
-
Good night, George.
-
I just had a Magnum ice cream bar.
I'm jealous!
-
However, I do have some Ding Dong Ice Cream Sandwiches, though.
-
Well...
-
...since we're so close...

They are quite good, if you ask me.
-
Probably not as special as Tom's Magnum ice cream bars, but still pretty good.
-
Well, I need to get to bed, also.
Good night and have a good day, all!
