Well, you've read the notes, the notes were delightful and private and were read, and now it is time for you to post until the delightfully private cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BALMY!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
I have written about the reading.
-
First post after BK.
-
T.O.D.
BK, is this the same Richard Sherman show you have been working on, or is that another one yet to come?
-
Congrats on the successful reading, BK!
-
T.O.D.
Will A CAROL CHRISTMAS be done this holiday season? Will you be playing the Scrooge character?

That would be cool!
-
I guess we will have to wait until later this morning to find out.
-
I guess we will have to wait until later this morning to find out.
Yup.
-
Well, I guess I will say good morning and good day to you, George.
-
Well, I guess I will say good morning and good day to you, George.
And to you, sir. :)
-
I must be off, as well.
Have a good day, all!

TCB, this is a female-centric version taking place in current times. Scrooge is a woman in this one, a Home Shopping Network-like entrepreneur - driven, caring only about herself and profit - you know the type. It's really fun and while I insisted it cover the classic Dickens bases, it does so in a whole new and fun way. The three "ghosts" aren't ghosts in this and they're all women who have the ability to take Carol, the protagonist, into the past, present, and future. And yes, it opens this November 16.

Tomorrow's event at the Academy honors the Sherman Brothers. Our concert honors Richard and his 90th birthday and is one month from now.
-
Listening to another masterpiece from the 1960s - my goodness they could do anything back then - so adventurous some of these things are. Couldn't happen today. This is a great Verve Lalo Schifrin album called The Dissection and Reconstruction of Music from the Past as Performed by the Inmates of Lalo Schifrin's Demented Ensemble as a Tribute to the Memory of the Marquis de Sade, certainly the longest title of an album ever. And I thought Ben Bagley's The Decline and Fall of the Entire World as Seen Through the Eyes of Cole Porter won the prize. Not hardly.
-
Thank you for both answers.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I want to go back to sleep.
-
I guess it ain’t happening.
-
J.B. Is doing his rooster routine.
-
I am so tired all of the time
-
I keep falling asleep
-
Every time I try to read or internet I doze off
-
And I feel like I could sleep for some hours more right now
-
Except I have to go to work
-
I am glad the reading went so well
-
I wish I could see the show
-
But wrong coast
-
Oh well, hi ho. Hi ho..
-
Vibes for everyone
-
Good morning, all!
-
The cats let me sleep late until 7:30 so I got plenty of sleep last night.
-
Today I must get further along with How To Succeed . . . and I want to check with Joshie on how the Irish Rep production of On A Clear Day . . . is coming along. He's been adjusting and finessing his work.
-
Congrats on the successful reading, BK!
Ditto!
-
Today's Daily News cover:
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good to hear the reading was so well executed and received!
-
Congrats on the success of the reading, BK!
-
Bruce, congrats on the excellent reading. It sounds exciting.
-
Yes DR TCB I would want to walk in the dead of winter, if it wasn't slippery out and I could bundle up..
-
DR George I do hope you walked again.
-
Congrats to MR BK & Co on the successful reading!
Here's hoping ACC has a LONG life!
-
Marley was dead.....
I love that opening line.....almost as much as....Scarlett O'Hara wasn't pretty....
-
I am glad the reading went so well
I’ll second that.
-

Are they going back to the original score/script?
-
I'm up, I'm up - can't sleep. Too much silly food too late.
-
Lerner’s first versions may not have been perfect, but Paint Your Wagon and On a Clear Day we’re both better before being rewritten for the screen. (Although the plane crash at the end of Clear Day really doesn’t work.)
-
I hate to say this, but I really would rather not go to this Academy thing tonight. I am going because the Shermans really want me there, but I have had such bad experiences at the Academy with their stupid security and not being on VIP lists when I should be and all that rigamarole but hopefully tonight will go smoothly and if there's any problem I at least know who to ask for.
-
Good luck tonight.
-
Good luck tonight.
And more.
-
Carol found out yesterday that the malady she was suffering from in Hawaii was pneumonia.

It's a clean up and restore job on the original materials.

Wednesday afternoon greetings...
Richard and I are home from Germantown, OH, where we attended the sweet funeral for our friend Loyce.

Not fun. I hope meds her speeding up her recovery.

Hello, 1 Guest!
-
All quiet on the western front.
-
And, the eastern front, as well.
-
DR George I do hope you walked again.
I will, but not today. I have to leave work early and go downtown, so I don't want to leave even earlier to go home to get my car.
-
All I have wanted to do today is lie in the A/C and do little as possible. I need to get over that and accomplish something.
-
Of course, I could've walked home at lunch, but I didn't think of that (now that I'm at work). ::)
;)

Smooth Academy Vibes for MR BK.
To Much Silly Food Too Late - I believe that was the working title of the second volume of memoirs by Diana Barrymore.

Rehearsal moves on apace.
There is one girl who of course knows EVERYTHING there is to know about being onstage and acting and directing - and as far as I know lighting and set decorating, she hasn't commented on those things yet.
I haven't liked her since I met her at auditions....so I don't talk to her or comment on her suggestions....I have never seen her onstage, if she has ever been onstage.....last night she brought some impossible shoes - they are her modeling class shoes from her John Casablanca classes. The director commented on her "stiletto" heels - and she corrected him and told him they were "pumps" - they look like stripper shoes to me. She volunteered to demonstrate the runway walk she has been working on, but the director declined saying he knows where to find her IF he wants to see it.
I am tempted to tell her that it is a scam and they are just taking her money - my sister got mixed up with them for awhile about twenty years ago....but I shall let her have her dreams.
-
Because of the nice person I am.
Just ask anybody.....well...not ANYBODY....but a lot of folks.....well several people.....well....my family.....most of them....
-
The story and photos about our rehearsals are on the website.....

TOD
BK, is Make Mine Manhattan one of the Painted Smiles rereleases you’re working on?
-

;)
That was going to be my suggestion ;D

As for the shoes, just tell her that her "F*ck Me" pumps aren't period. ;)
-
DR Jrand how old is this girl that is wearing stripper shoes?
-
I would guess somewhere in her mid twenties....she is divorced with a small son.
Information I found out by hearing her talk to others.....
-
DR GEORGE I hope that is not a career path she is choosing....but one never knows.
It's all show business....only this is at night and it pays better....
-
Don't know about Make Mine Manhattan yet.
-
I'm up again. I went back to bed at eleven so two and a half hours more sleep.
-
Make mine a Manhattan....oh that's a different subject.
-
Mine, too. Please.
-
Sigh. Craig will not be meeting us in Detroit and going to Chicago with us. His dog is not doing well :(

Page three? Really?
-
Picked up two packages, and just didn't feel like eating anything. So a little while ago I had a few potato chips just to have something.
-
Shortly I'll shower and get ready for the event tonight and hopefully Sami will arrive on time - hoping the traffic isn't too crazy going over the hill.
-
Thank you DR George. I don't think Yogi will ever get well but he is better right now, better in that he can control his bodily functions and is eating. When Craig called to tell us he won't be joining us they were out walking, another improvement.
-
4our!!
-
I am glad I took a long walk this morning. An equally long walk this afternoon seemed longer than usual and now it is even hotter, up to 92 degrees. Including normal running around I have gone about 10.5 miles.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the event. I hope getting in all goes smoothly.

Break Legs, BK!
-
Good evening!
-
Hope you enjoy the event, BK!
-
And now, I'm off. Tonight is the final preview of Harlequin Productions' Magical Mystery Midsummer Musical (https://harlequinproductions.org/season/magical-musical-midsummer-musical/), and their volunteer appreciation night. I'm going so that I can be appreciated...and get a free dinner! They don't have door prizes or gifts like the WCPA, but they have a dinner and a show.
Be back later!
-
Have fun.
-
I am looking forward to hearing about the Sherman brothers event
-
I am looking forward to hearing about the Sherman brothers event
moi aussi.
-
I have pineapple, coconut, macadamia nut bread in the oven.
-
Listened to Robert and Elizabeth tonight while making the bread dough. What a wonderful score. And June Bronhill is amazing. Hadn't heard it too long.
-
Now I'm finishing up Don't Look Back.
-
Don't know about Make Mine Manhattan yet.
The reason I asked is because Footlight Records is now offering it by CDR.
-
Now watching some Buster Keaton shorts, Convict 13 and Daydreams. He is the funniest of all the silent clowns, IMO.
-
'night
-
Good evening.
-
Another very warm evening.
-
Well, not compared to East Coast evenings.
-
Or L.A. summer evenings.
-
But it is warm.
-
I guess our mini-heatwave is over.
-
We went to Boathouse 19 today for lunch.
-
I wish I liked that place more than I do.
-
The restaurant I’d okay, although it can be a little loud.
-
They have a nice deck, over the marina, but between low airplanes, los of freight trains right outside, plus overly loud “mood” music blasting out of their outdoor speakers; the place is very noisy.
-
Temperature will drop down to 74 degrees tomorrow.
-
Anyway, I could overlook the restaurant’s shortcomings, if the food was just a little better.
-
I have tried several different dishes there, but none have been fantastic.
-
One more post.
-

-
Today I had a California burger (guacamole and some Pico) for $14.99. It was okay, but nothing special for the price.
-
I have had their oyster po’boy. It was okay.
-
I have had their halibut and chips. That was better than the burger.
-
Speaking of high prices, I got one of McDonald’s new freshly-made Quarter Pounder with cheese burgers the other day.
-
It was really pretty good, but $4.79 for a McDonals’s hamburger??
-
What is the world coming to?
-
I blame Donald Trump!
-
Because Jose is no longer here.
-
I meant to have ice cream tonight, but I totally forgot about it until now.
-
I suppose I could still have it, but I don’t want to risk having bad dreams
-
I had one this afternoon when I took my nap.
-
I have never had a dream like this before.
-
Greetings, 1 Guest.
-
Finally back from a very long but fun evening. I hadn't eaten anything but a few potato chips, so I stopped at In 'n' Out and got food, which I just ate. Got to go announce two titles then write the notes.
-
I am glad the evening was more fun than you expected.
-
Good night.

I'm back and really enjoyed the show.
-
The dinner that they provided was pretty good, too.
-
I came home and fed my cat and let her out back, then had to rush her back inside because another cat was outside the fence and they started hissing and howling at each other! :o
-
Have fun.
Thanks, Jane! I did.
-
I got to chat with a few people that I haven't seen in a while, so that was fun, too.
-
I am looking forward to hearing about the Sherman brothers event
moi aussi.
Ditto, too!
-
I have pineapple, coconut, macadamia nut bread in the oven.
Sounds delish!
-
One (typical) downside to the show was that some of it was just too loud! Not the whole show, but songs that are loud kind of songs seemed to be a LOT louder than the rest of the show. :P
-
Well...
-
...we...
-
...can't...
-
...stop...
-
...here...
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
I'll definitely go back and usher for the show to see how more performances improve things.
-
...and to get a program. They didn't have any tonight, so I don't know if there were any notes that explained not just the songs and music, but the original show context.
-
Finally back from a very long but fun evening....
Can't wait to read about it!
-
Well, I'm going to have to wait to read about it. ::)
-
I've been struggling to stay awake and I'm going to give in.
-
I ordered the two new Kritzerland CDs and added the new release of Ben Bagley's Leonard Bernstein Revisited to CastAlbums.org (http://castalbums.org). Here's the direct link:
