Well, you've read the notes, the notes were officially blown and had no mind, and now it is time for you to post until the officially blown cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BENEDICT!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.

Tom, LEGALLY BLONDE opens August 16 and closes August 19. Yup...one weekend only.

Tom, LEGALLY BLONDE opens August 16 and closes August 19. Yup...one weekend only.
That’s a shame.
-
Good night, George.

Tom, LEGALLY BLONDE opens August 16 and closes August 19. Yup...one weekend only.
That’s a shame.
I know. Each of the five shows in their season plays only one weekend. It's Broadway Olympia Productions (https://www.broadwayolympia.com)' very first season, so I assume that they're just trying things out to see how it all goes. I'm sure that another reason is that they're using the space that's occupied by the Olympia Film Society, so their schedule probably dictated that they'd allow one weekend per show to see if BOP is even able to sell enough seats for those few performances.
-
Just a couple of theories.
-
Good night, George.
Good night, Tom.
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Good night and have a good day, all!
-
Good morning to all

If anyone would like to watch a video of my one-act play Ruth: The Cemetery Angel. Shot It was taped for archival purposes. But there were some really bad camera moves which were later fixed up with some editing and making more enjoyable to watch.
https://vimeo.com/270936433/0a33c314c9 (https://vimeo.com/270936433/0a33c314c9)
I've been working on it since this production and hoping to do it again in the fall as a solo piece.
Enjoy!
Also please keep it within this group and don't share it.

Good morning, all.
-
Up too damned early this morning, but I've got a full day of hopefully getting stuff done.
-
I see we're in for a heat wave, come the weekend and beyond.
-
Continued vibes for DR Jrand67 and family.
-
And vibes for DR Elmore and the bathtub mess. But vibes also that the phone call was a harbinger of good tidings.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I will spend most of the morning in the laundry room. Much of the mess is now cleaned or mopped up. We are still waiting to see if the bathroom ceiling of the neighbor below me collapses. I hope not.
-
Yes, there was an offer on the Ohio property, a little more than half of what we were asking. I do not think we will accept it. Randy and I were discussing what to counter-offer when all hell broke loose. He still has to confer with Macbeth.

Vibes for the downstairs neighbors ceiling

I am sorry for the lowball offer Elmore

More vibes and prayers for Mama Rand , Jack and family

Last night, Annabelle, Thatch and I watched the 2nd half of the BBC adaptation of Trollope's "The Way We Live Now." It's quite amazing: Augustus Melmotte, mittel-European con artist, arrives in London with ponzi schemes and an powerful drive to become a Member of Parliament. A mix of Donald Trump and Bernie Madoff, David Suchet is amazing and terrifying in the role. The cast includes wastrel idiot sons, anti-semitic aristocracy, noble ideals, noble and profane love, deceptions in high and low places, and much chicanery.
There's little difference in Trollope's London of 1870 and this country now, except there's a sense of humor in Trollope. Annabelle, Thatch, and I find little to laugh at in US politics at the moment.

I seem to be fine according to my test....one polyp sent to the lab....nothing else.
But with my mom in the hospital, it is not as happy a day as I wanted it to be.
She is not responding and the doctors are saying this and that....but I am very worried. I was hoping she would come home...but now I am not so sure.
Of course I am caught in The Mousetrap....but we shall see.
Thanks to all.

So sorry, DR JRand67.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! I will be E & T throughout the midday today because Rebecca and I are going to a book talk at the public library in Hamilton and then, probably, out to lunch. Maybe today's speaker can convince me to actually read some Louise Erdrich...
-
DR JRand, I'm glad your test turned out so well, but very sorry to hear about your Mom's condition. Vibes and prayers for her...
-
Everything is laundered, dried, and put away. The apartment is back in order, and I've texted Val, who has not responded. I guess he's really angry with me.
-
TOD:
Appetizers: egg rolls, potstickers, won ton soup
Entrees: lemon chicken, mu shu anything, garlic shrimp, tangerine beef
Chinese food is my favorite, but in Southern California everyone else's favorite is Mexican, so I'm the odd man out.
-
I dearly love both Chinese and Mexican, but I could quite literally eat some form of Mexican food every single day and not tire of it. Chinese, at least a couple of times per week.
TOD
Appetizers: Egg rolls, spring rolls, won ton soup, hot & sour soup, shredded chicken salad (I think it's usually an appetizer?)
All the rest: Good lord, where to begin? Chicken or beef w/broccoli, kung pao chicken, orange or tangerine chicken, sweet & sour pork, chow mein, lo mein. Anything with garlic. Mu shu pork. Cantonese and Szechuan both good. Green tea ice cream!
As you can see, my tastes don't run to the terribly exotic. I'm generally partial to chicken over beef in Chinese food. and am generally less attracted to shrimp/fish as opposed to yer basic foul and pig. This only pertains to Chinese, because I like a lot of seafood otherwise.
-
Sorry DR elmore.
-
Great test news DR Jrand. I hope your mother will soon be home with you.
-
DR elmore my suggestion to prevent the tub from overflowing is to ALWAYS set a timer before you turn the water on.
-
I set my phone timer when I am cooking in case I get diatracted and leave something on the stove.

After the dust settles, both literally and figuratively, DR Elmore's next order will be some wonderful gift for Val.
(Unless he now owes Val his first born.) (But that would be Annabelle!!)

She'd like that.

Good afternoon, all!
-
George, thanks for the Bandstand review.
-
BK, I got the disc of Straight, No Chaser from Netflix. It was one of those jazz documentaries, like Let’s Get Lost, I’ve wanted to see for a long time.
-
Thanks for the link, Michael. Looking forward to watching it.
-
Elmore, Trollope is good for the cats. Do you have He Knew He Was Right?
-
I watched a Rene Clair movie last night called Beauty Is the Devil, a comedic retelling of Faust. I tell you, JB does not like his French lessons. He squawked throughout.
-
Elmore, Trollope is good for the cats. Do you have He Knew He Was Right?
Yes, and the Barchester Chronicles and The Pallisers.
-
I'm up, I'm up - was up at eleven-thirty after eight hours of sleep and went right into a telephonic call for forty minutes. Must get ready now.
-

Yes, and the Barchester Chronicles and The Pallisers.
Trollope for Kitties. Sounds like a great book title. And Annabelle, of course, would be Lady Glendora.

Whatever my personal Chinese chef makes me to eat. BTW, Peter is having his gallbladder out on Thursday, so I may be cooking for Joy and him a couple of days.

Well, it turns out that I had my CD to Bandstand here at work and I've been listening to it.
-
I really liked it when I first got it, but now that I've seen the show, I like it a lot more. :)
-
Context really adds to the experience of just listening.
-
We dropped off our car rental and took a bus to the airport. We are now waiting for ashuttle to our last hotel of the trip. Every other hotel shuttle has passed us except ours.
-
After a 25 minute wait it has arrived
-
Back from a productive meeting at which I occasionally had to be strong, but we're going to love doing the show in the venue known as The Wallis. I completely forgot they're doing a show there I really want to see and I may try to find a single for Thursday night - Jeremy Irons in Long Day's Journey Into Night - saw the set, of course, as we were meeting in the theater - very interesting.
-
Then I picked up some packages, after which Richard Allen and I had a meal at Hugo's, going over stuff for the event.
-
Now playing: Already my new favorite Christmas album - The Swingle Singers - absolute magic. The US title was Christmastime, but the original title is more along the lines of Passport to Christmas, meaning songs from around the world. The arrangements are stunning, the sound is stunning, and the Singers are stunning.
-
After a 25 minute wait it has arrived
Whew!
-
Just unfriended and blocked two alt-right nut jobs who keep inundating Facebook with fake memes as if they were real. I got so tired of seeing this crap that I responded strongly, at which point they do the usual "libtard" "Killary" horse manure (these people don't know who or what I am) so I unfriended finally and then blocked finally. These people are beyond help. And they both friended me, not the other way around, and there are tons of mutual friends, so I assume that's what these cretins do, just friend any performer or director or writer they can. The guy is supposedly an "actor" who just posted a completely fake meme supposedly quoting actor Clint Eastwood saying something he obviously could never have said since Mr. Eastwood speaks English, if you get my meaning. And he said he was "directed" by Eastwood in Sully. So off I went to the imdb and in the credited and uncredited appearances, a list of around 100 names, nowhere does this jerk's name appear, which means - he was an EXTRA, which means he was hardly "directed" by Mr. Eastwood.
-
Good riddance to bad rubbish, say I.
-

Just in time. Right after we got on the shuttle it began to pour. Fortunately the hotel driveway is covered.

Bad rubbish is right!

Well, it's time for me to leave work now. I need to do a little shopping at Costco, then go home.
Until later.
-
The Swingles are now Swinging Telemann, another fantastic album.
-
Good evening, all.
-
An exhausting day at work today, largely because yesterday was so exhausting.
-
Guess the exhaustion just carried over.
-
I think I need to find a place to go swimming.
-
That definitely made life more peaceful when I was in Hawaii.
-
And my back felt much better.
-
Jeanne, I started listening to the mystery you recommended, the title of which I can't remember. But I am enjoying the beginning of it.
-
I'll get more into it as soon as I finish Red Rising (on disc 13 or 13) and Barracoon, the lost and finally published Zora Neale Hurston novel. She's one of my favorites.
-
Right now, I finishing Straight, No Chaser. It's oh so beautiful watching Monk's fingers dance across the keyboard. His fingering technique is so unique, as is the sound he's striving for.
-
Don't know what I'm going to watch next. I have a ton of flicks from the library, including a film noir with Maureen O'Hara, The Greatest Showman (which I'm not looking forward to) and Another Man, Another Chance, which I am finally catching up with (I have the Kritzerland soundtrack).
-
Watching the credits of Straight, No Chaser. Clint Eastwood was executive producer. And the negative cutter is someone I knew once upon a time, Noelle Penraat. Actually, I knew her parents more than I knew her.
-
And my back felt much better.
An excellent reason to swim.

Bad dubbing in Another Man, Another Chance. But the actors are good. And the Frances Lai score is lush.

This morning I went for my hike; after that, I accomplished nothing.
I think I need a day like that.
-
Good night, all.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
John G, I'm glad you're enjoying MURDER AT THE BRIGHTWELL. I wasn't even aware that there was an audio version until I read your post. I listened to a few minutes of it. The narrator was quite good, I thought.
-
Jrand, I'm very pleased that your test results were good ones. I hope that your mother soon shows some improvement and you can celebrate together.
-
Larry, so sorry about your flooding. Such an easy thing to overlook. I'm sure Val will be glad to know you will soon have a sensor and can avoid another mishap.
-
Dental vibes to Vixmom. Any soft treats you can look forward to as a compensation?
-
Tony Bennett left his heart in San Francisco. DR Jane left her sandals in Ann Arbor.
Vibes they are returned soon.
-
I had planned to take my car in for service today, but I slept very poorly and there was no way I could get up early and get it to them and still function. Instead, I took care of some laundry and other things around the apartment. I have lots to choose from! (Lengthy to-do list.)
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Just scored a ticket for Long Day's Journey into Night for tomorrow night. Seven-thirty curtain and three-and-a-half hours long, but Jeremy Irons and Leslie Manville - couldn't not try and thanks to our even there I got the one single that was left - ninth row center. Guess the plan will be to go over the hill around four to get to Beverly Hills at four-thirty, park, go somewhere and have a leisurely meal (perhaps giving Nate 'n' Al's one final chance) and then walking around the nabe until seven.
-
I just finished watching tonight's episode of America's Got Talent.
-
As always, there were some pretty good performers, and some not so good...but mostly good.
-
The last performer shown was a transgender (female to male) singer.
-
He sang a country song and was really good.
-
He got four very emphatic yeses, and not just because of his story.
-
Another performer was a young violinist in his early 20s who has a nerve disease that is destroying the feelings in his fingers and legs that will only get worse.
-
He said that this could be his last chance at performing.
-
He was also very good.
-
There will always be very good performers, and as it gets closer to the end, the performers that are left really are the best.
-
After work today, I went to Costco for some diet Pepsi and saw that they have a new salad in their deli.
-
It's called the Al Pastor Salad.
-
I've never heard of something like that but I tried it.
-
It was $4.99 and was quite filling.
-
And now...

PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Good evening, George.
-
I took my sister and brother-in-law out for lunch today.
-
We went to the Emerald Queen Casino.
-
The Costco salad doesn't have any meat, but a plant based protein (soy) instead.
-
My sister will no longer deal with buffets.
-
It's not vegan because (according to a couple of websites that I found) the dressing has eggs.
-
So we went to their upstairs restaurant.
-
My sister had the French Dip.
-
She loved it because the roast beef was
raw rare.
-
My sister will no longer deal with buffets.
What problem(s) does she have with buffets?
-
I've done half the commentary now. So, will finish tomorrow.
-
Listening to lots of good music.
-
She only ate half of a rather small sandwich.
-
She took the rest home, but I will bet the dogs get the beef.
-
My sister will no longer deal with buffets.
What problem(s) does she have with buffets?
She wants to be waited on, when she goes out.
-
I had a sausage and cheese omelette. It was just okay.
-
My sister will no longer deal with buffets.
What problem(s) does she have with buffets?
She wants to be waited on, when she goes out.
Ahh. That's a consideration.
-
My brother-in-law had the Kobe beef burger.
-

I completely forgot they're doing a show there I really want to see and I may try to find a single for Thursday night - Jeremy Irons in Long Day's Journey Into Night - saw the set, of course, as we were meeting in the theater - very interesting.
Not that I would dare compare myself to Mr. Irons, but I was very proud of my performance in LONG DAYS JOURNEY.
-
I would never want to try and memorize all of those lines again.
-
It can be a very long 3 1/2 hours of theater when one of you goes up on their lines
-
You could easily cut a large chunk out of that play, and very few people would notice.
-
Continued vibes and prayers to Jrand’s mother.
-
And hugs of comfort to Jrand.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Well...

PAGE SIX AL PASTOR SALAD DANCE!!
-
The worst part of the Al Pastor salad was that it has 59 grams of carbs and 3,270 mg of sodium! :o
-
Although it wasn't bad, I didn't love it.
-
But because of the carbs and sodium, I won't have it again.
-
AND it also has olives, which I don't like, and since the salads are premade each morning (I asked), I can't get one without the olives. :P
-
So I REALLY won't have it again.
-
;)
-
Well, this is interesting. I recorded "Man in an Orange Shirt" on PBS and wondered if it's been released on DVD or Blu-ray, and it has:
