Well, you've read the notes, the notes were pretzel-like, and now it is time for you to post until the pretzel-like cows come home.

Cats fed, birds fed, and I'm getting there.

Vibes for all
-
Good morning, all.
-
Today there's the potential for strong thunderstorms throughout the day -- and right now, nothing fills me with more dread after what we've been through. Vibes for everyone in the damned northeast.
-
This morning's patrol was a dud: all Annabelle wanted to do was try out the cool linoleum on each floor. I finally got tired of waiting for her to stop rolling around and move so I picked her up and carried her home.
-
Good news from DR GINNY yesterday!
It sounds like DR GEORGE had fun!
DR VIXMOM - the situation is scary and ridiculous....coping vibes on the way.

Tuesday morning greetings! Richard and I have been to our former Methodist church for a memorial service for Mrs. Trent, a friend of my mother-in-law's and the mother of one of Richard's childhood friends. She lived to be 100 and died 10 years to the day after Richard's mother.

I am sorry to say I did not recognize Ethel Ennis by name. I am listening to her now, beautiful.

Tim's mother?

We do not have a single full service car wash. It would be nice, but then I also think of the lines those car washes usually have.

Yes, DR Elmore.

I Think the Loofah Died from the Heat Yesterday - that's the title of my next novel.
I’d read it.

Good afternoon.

The stew is finished. Some is in the freezer, some is in the fridge, and the cleanup seems endless.
-
I Think the Loofah Died from the Heat Yesterday - that's the title of my next novel.
It is a great title.
-
After a long walk I drank water, ate grapes, and now am having a couple bites ice cream so I do not end up like the poor loofah.
-
I hope DR Vixmom is not having a horrible day.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I'm taking another break from the cleaning and tidying, and preparing for tomorrow's building inspection. My back always has a mind of its own, but today it really doesn't want to cooperate.
-
I'd arranged with the building manager to have my inspection at 11:30 tomorrow, instead of having to wait around much of the day. She now informs me that the handyman will have to leave early, so inspection hours are 8:00 to 9:30ish. That makes a mess of my morning and effectively means I have to skip my exercise program, which I really don't like to do. Of course, I'll have the later part of the day to take care of other things (if I'm not completely exhausted from today).
-
I really do need
more some help.
-
Vibes to Vixmom for a better work environment.
-
Are not these defections partly the result of long hours and insufficient staff? I'm sure if everyone had Vixmom's work ethic the office would function more smoothly.

Ditto to every one of these except Eva Cassidy, but only because I've never heard of her. ::)
-
I never knew anyone who grew loofahs. Can loofah be used for anything other than a body scrubber?
-
I'll also add the women of The Manhattan Transfer: Janis Siegel, Laurel Massé and Cheryl Bentyne. :)
-
And not just Judy Garland, but also Judy (Judith) Blazer, Judy Collins, Judy Holliday, Judy Kaye and Judy Kuhn...all the Judys! :D
-
It sounds like DR GEORGE had fun!
I did! And after work tonight, I'm working concessions for Melissa Etheridge: The Rock Show (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/melissa_etheridge-1807/)! I won't get to see the beginning of the show because we in concessions have to clean up before we go in to watch, but it'll go pretty quickly. I won't miss too much. ;D
-
The Ethel Ennis clip that Jane posted was perfection itself. It's amazing that she isn't better known. She should be.
-
I am sorry to say I did not recognize Ethel Ennis by name. I am listening to her now, beautiful.

I hadn't heard of her, either. I really like her version of this song.
-
George, I'll have a desktop AC review for you in a day or two. It's really nice here today, but I know it won't last.

Ginny, my condolences to you and Richard and Mrs. Trent's family. :( But living to the age of 100 is definitely an achievement!

Lena Horne and Ella Fitzgerald have always tied for #1 for me.
I also like Barbara Cook and Liz Callaway very much.

I understand you want your place in perfect order before people traipse through it. I somehow suspect your apartment will look better than most even if you don't get everything done.

Good evening!
-
Back from the meeting - I planned on twenty minutes - I was there an hour and twenty, thanks to one person who does not understand this show is not about him. He only thinks of himself, only thinks of his needs, doesn't understand he's got sixteen minutes of a two-hour show, but happily the City and everyone at the Wallis is onto him. So, I will have my needs met and from here on in if he tries to talk to anyone he'll simply be told that the director of the show and his stage manager are in charge and he'll need to talk to us.
-
And because of that, it took me almost fifty minutes to do the fifteen minute drive home. Color me furious. And because of that I had no time to go sit and have a proper meal, so I went to Jerry's and got a little thing of chicken salad to bring home with a couple of bagels. I ate one bagel with some chicken salad so I'm good until we wrap at eight-thirty.
-
And tomorrow I have to do the lighting script and get that to the tech folks at the Wallis.
-
Well, I'm off to the Melissa Etheridge concert!
Be back later!
-
Enjoy, George.
-
I can't believe I forgot Rebecca Luker from my list. Love her voice.

This may be a little too San Antonio foodie, but I'm laughing myself silly at this.
-
Watching a movie about Somm, a documentary about the folks who take the master sommelier taste and the toll that it takes on them.
-
Where is everybody?
-
Everybody except George, that is.
-
I know where he is.
-
Tomorrow night is the big dinner for theater volunteers. It's a beach party. Should be fun. They have it in the theater itself with the floor flattened and tables put in.
-
I stayed up late last night. I may turn in early tonight.
-
Rehearsals went very well and now I'll eat bagel two with the rest of the chicken salad. Not really enough food but I'm not in the mood to go out.
-
I should think we'd best get some postin' goin' on.
-
Hope vixmom did OK today.
-
The reviews for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again have started to come in.
-
Surprisingly, most are favorable.
-
But I did love this snippet from Variety's review in which they look back at the original:
Then, of course, there was Pierce Brosnan, who sang “S.O.S.” sounding like a seal with a ping-pong ball stuck in his mouth.
-
I will go. Maybe not this weekend.
-
Right now, however, it's off to bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
Get me OFF THIS DAMN PAGE.
-
After listening to some pretty lame vocal CDs, I am now in Nancy Wilson land. I just don't know that I ever listened to any of these albums when I bought them. She's amazing, actually - what a voice and the arrangements are fantastic and that Capitol sound. THESE are albums.
-
Had to laugh over at All That Chat - some poster called sf said he normally doesn't "pimp out his blog" - that is MY phrase that I've used on Facebook on the few occasions when I've linked to this here site. I've never heard anyone else use it - so I clicked through to his blog and of course it's someone who's a member of this here site - I think he posted occasionally in the early days, and he sees all my posts on Facebook where I use that phrase - so that mystery solved. I'm so happy to help people with their phraseology.
-
I am quite bored of this page, quite bored of the errant and truant and ready to kick some butt cheeks.
-
Nancy is singing. Hollywood My Way - she's great, the arrangements for the most part are not to my liking - Jimmy Jones - she's much better with the likes of Billy May.
-
We watched MOLLY'S GAME this evening.
-
Good evening
-
Page 4? Seriously?
-
The very start of page 4.
-
I am afraid I am not up to doing two full pages tonight.
-
It is very warm here tonight.
-
Actually, it is a little muggy.
-
It is only 80 degrees in the bedroom.
-
Same as last night.
-
It is suppose to cloud up tonight.
-
Tomorrow the high will only be in the 70’s.
-
Nick and I are looking forward to the cooler weather.
-
By the end of next week it will be back to the 90’s.
-
My big adventure today was going to the supermarket.
-
Since I missed Ice Cream Day, I bought some today, along with some gelato.
-
I figured my stomach couldn’t tell the difference.
-
The gelato seemed very sweet.
-
I had never had any before, so I don’t know if that is normal.
-
Or maybe I just picked an off brand.
-
How many MISSION IMPOSSIBLE films has Tom Cruise made?
-
I have never seen any of them.
-
I don’t know if I have missed anything.
-
I suppose I could find them on Netflix or Amazon.
-
Oh well, I am sure there are better films to see.
-
At least films without Mr. Cruise.
-
My sister wants me to go to MAMMA MIA 2, or whatever it is called.
-
She only wants to see it because Cher is in the movie.
-
As Meryl Streep’s mother!
-
I am sure that Cher will not be in a lot of the film.
-
That’s okay, I want to see it, too.
-
One more post.
-
Page 5
-
Good night.
-
Enjoy, George.
Thanks, John! I did! We volunteers were told that Melissa doesn't mind if the audience takes pictures (even with falsh!) or records video. So, people were...even me:
-
Here's the other picture that I took that turned out:
-
It was LOUD!
-
But she put on a great show!
-
Just her and three guys for two solid hours! No break!
-
After the show, I drove Margo home, then did a little shopping at Fred Meyer, then came home and am now feeding my face.
-
Burnt grilled cheese. :P
-
Actually, it may have been burnt, but it's still quite tasty. ;D
