DR TCB American gelato, IMHO, ranges from ok to rather bad. I don't recall ever having good store bought gelato.

Looking good!
DR Ginny enjoy your new bed tonight.
I am on the left....a symphony in checks....jacket, shirt, trousers.....I like my costume a lot....nice brown shoes, too.
I think one of the first parody lyrics I ever wrote that got performed was called "Over Her!" - a fake-news parody of "Over Here" - it was a totally-pretend idea of the Andrews Sisters being annoyed with Janie Sell for walking away with their show in terms of awards and stuff.

I've found a gelato where they throw extra stuff like chocolate chips in them tend to taste as good as ice creams like Breyer's, and at times have fewer calories. But then I seem to make up for the saved calories with cookies since gelato doesn't satisfy like ice cream.

Vibes for DR VIXMOM that she got a good one!
But Breyer's somehow never satisfies like Hog and Daz. And now that those pints are 14 ounces rather than 16 ounces, it's so tempting to convince myself that when 14 ounces disappear in two days, that hey, it's not THAT bad, it wasn't a full pint. :)
Continued vibes for MR BK & Co on the Sherman Event.
Nice photo in the notes....
Perhaps that one person could be wished into the cornfield.....
Nice photos DR GEORGE.
DR Ginny enjoy your new bed tonight.
Richard is lying down right now, reading a book. I just ordered new bedside tables to replace the ones we've been using for as long as I can remember. My parents bought them in 1959, so I think we've gotten their money's worth...

Is it Ok with BK to post this.
"Charlie's Place" and "Over Here" title song, from the 1974 Tonys, a little static at the top, but then the video soon settles in

~~~Ditto!!~~~
Super Vibes the new assistant is terrific!
ChasSmith - delicate string fills in ANNIE? Since when? It's one violin. Or is this some Keith Levinson redo?
vixmom, does the assistant report right to you, take duties and order of performance of tasks directly from you? (If there's any way to haggle for that hierarchy right from the first week, that could have long-term benefits.)
Very good point. I rather assumed that "assistant" meant that, but clearly I was being naive.
A pint of ice cream is now just 14 ounces? What's the world coming to?
For the benefit of the parody stalkers. :). here it is
ANDREWS SISTERS sing "OVER HER" about everyone fawning over Janie Sell even more than over the Sisters: (tune of "Over Here" title song)
Now we’re here singing and we’re dancing to that Sherman score
Huffin’ and a-wheezin’ til we can’t take no more
But all our hard work has gotten shot right to hell
‘Cause of that young siren known as Janie Sell
We give our all
And what a switch
Critics all went clacky-wacky over that b*tch
We're over her, ick-icky-poo
We hate her guts ‘cause she's stealing our show
We're over her, ick-icky-poo
She makes us nuts and we wish she would blow
While Miss Sell steals scenes so sweetly
We sisters are completely
Over her
Ick-ick-icky-poo
We hate her
Can’t tell you how much we hate her
All the critics want to date her
We’re getting’ bored
Watch her win our Tony award
We’re over her, ick-icky-poo
We thought this show’s a big comeback for us
We’re over her, ick-icky-poo
The hatred grows as they’re makin’ a fuss
Though we’ll do our bis-tu-shein-ing
You’ll hear us both complaining
We’re over her
Ick-ick-icky-poo!
What Haagen did was make the carton smaller rather than raise the price, at the time, It has gone up since then, at least in our nearby markets.
Great ice cream shots, Jane!
Flaws in presentation, to me, make everything look homemade and personal.
Building inspection #1 is over. There's good news and bad news.
The "crack in the ceiling" that the manager recalled seeing during the inspection last December is actually a large area of damaged plaster in my kitchen ceiling, the result of multiple roof leaks (the leaks were fixed, but not the interior). I estimate it at 8-10 sq ft. The manager has decided that it needs to be fixed properly, ie, old plaster removed and drywall installed. That's the best solution from their standpoint, but not from mine. Last December the owner thought that a piece of plywood could be installed instead. It wouldn't look good, but I wouldn't have to move out. Under this plan I will have to move out. I am currently negotiating some sort of compensation. They are not willing to pay hotel bills, but I do need to check California law. If anyone here has any insight into this, please let me know.
And the good news? They've agreed to replace the decrepit showerhead.
My sister and niece REALLY like Breyer's vanilla bean ice cream.
Thanks you, George. I need them!
You can sell them as vintage furniture.
Better zzzzzzzzzzzzzz vibes to DR Ginny and DH Richard.
Maybe you can get a trade in value for those 1959 tables DR GINNY....someone would love them.....
Gary Beach has died.
The entire morning was spent dealing with our problem person, who simply does not know how to play well with others. He was e-mailing the theater privately - they, of course, know the deal and added me to the string saying Bruce must be included in all e-mails as all final decisions are his. I then responded with a simple, yes, the stage manager and I copied on any e-mail sent and that I was not giving up one more INCH of playing space - he of course said basically it is what it is. I told him that it, in fact, that it will be what works for ALL of us and that I'd already given up five FEET of playing space, which is going to make things very tight for us, and that I was through with my comprising and bending. And that there would be no need for any further e-mails. Then he e-mails the sound people on his own - that was it for our producer who wrote the City folks - I, too, responded to THAT in my customary fashion. Our tech guy at the theater came up with two different ways to slightly reconfigure the space and those are the two options on the table. I said I was fine with option two but whichever worked was fine by me. I then reiterated that no e-mails are to go to the tech people without coming to me and my stage manager first, because he just endlessly confuses everyone with his e-mails. His litany of "this is how it's done" is boring and it's not his show - he is sixteen minutes of a two-hour show.
Am I the only one who knew it would be Vixmom's problem?
Today I have to go to the periodontist to have them take a look at the gum graft I had done over a year ago. My dentist says they did a nice job. I hope I don't have to pay anything and that it is covered by my surgery fee.
Oh, they're vintage, all right. One of them has a cigarette burn from when my Dad used to smoke in the middle of the night.
I ordered some streamer sticks for our finale - they arrived in one day, yesterday. I didn't open the box - today I got a call from the company saying they sent the wrong thing. So, I called and they'll make sure the right thing is here by Friday at the latest. Thank goodness they called because I was not intending to open the box until at the theater.
She has been advised that she is indeed my assistant and that she will be taking direction from me...
I never realized how partial I am to jazz sax players.
Melissa Manchester will be with us tomorrow - so what are the chances that bookending the rehearsal day we have two Harlettes? Melissa was one of the originals, and Linda Hart was one in the late 1970s.
Well I like the new assistant, she isn't experienced but seems very willing and eager to learn
I have graduated from "Educated" by Tara Westover. I need something happy.
I don't think that it really exists, so I'm going to JoAnn Fabric (https://www.joann.com/) to see if they have any inexpensive pink fur. I looked online and there's a sale of "UP TO 75% OFF" their "ENTIRE STOCK FABRIC"! :D
HOPEFULLY, they have some pink fur that I can just glue onto a normal pad of paper. We'll see! Be back later.
