Well, you've read the notes, the notes didn't have too much stumbling, and now it is time for you to post until the stumbling cows come home.

Today's going to be a day.  First, I need to get up and go to my sister's and help my niece attempt to inject her cat with fluids again.  Hopefully, it'll work.

Then, I need to come home and organize the Legally Blonde props.  I have a whole bunch o' stuff all over my living room. :P I need to make a list of what all I have, indicate what's been purchased and what's borrowed (and from whom!), in what (approximate) order do they show up, and how much I paid for everything that I bought.  At least, I hope that that's what I need to do!

DR George, In Search of the Castaways is based on a Jules Verne novel.  I would swear that when it was first released it was simply titled The Castaways.  I saw it several times on its first release.

Thinking back, that had been a weird scandal.  Paula Dean was a guest on Barbara Walters' show The View, and Barbara "ambushed" Paula with reports that Paula's cooking caused dangerous childhood obesity.

DR George I bet there are videos on line that might help with the injection part.  I am surprised she was only shown how to do it.  I actually did it at the vets office.  I was lucky too that our pet sitter was a tech there and, as a favor to us, talked me through it again at our house.

Found a part of an old screenplay that I was working with two other writers. One of my co-writer's father was a well known British author and politician and was going to invest in the pre-production costs, but that fell through. That co-writer went on to become a theatrical producer. The other co-writer lives off his investments and the various bartender schools his family owns.

And the I hate the business of show rant. I have written and called the literary agent who handles the estate of a writer whose memoir I would like to know if film and tv options are available. I know that Disney had them in the 80's but never did anything with them. Not even a courtesy call or email to say no or yes or I have talk to with your agent to give you answer. I had called several times and always got the voicemail even when I asked to speak with her assistant. I have also sent emails.

I've always thought that "If baby, I'm the bottom, you're the top!" had a very skillfully hidden sophisticated sexual innuendo meaning to it.  if you read it very carefully, there's a subtle reference to - oh, wait, better stop, this is a family site.

Got one quarter of the way through The Great Alone. I like it, but I think Hannah needs a better editor. It bothers me that a 13-year-old boy in the early 1970s would use the phrase douchebag while the 14-year-old girl wants to call 911 long before that number was ever used for emergencies. In the beginning, the girl is very much a camera, like the one she carries around her neck, reflecting what's going on and yet surprisingly outside much of it. I hope she grows into more of a character.

Our vet was very good to us. They only charged for the bag of fluids, and I took Rex in and they did the labor for no charge. Until Rex said no more. He's doing ok, by the way.

It probably helped that I took food to the vet techs, too.

I preferred Hannah's "The Nightingale".

I looked it up and the first 911 call was made in Feb 1968 in Alabama.    I can't find when it was first used in Alaska.

That was very nice of them.  I am glad Rex is doing ok.

We read most cats are happy to have the fluids as they feel better.  Bogie certainly never tried to get off of the washing machine when we put him up there for the fluids.  I know he preferred that to a trip to the vet.  It is important to be comfortable with doing it and that did take us a little while.  I did the injection and Keith tracked how much was going out of the bag.

This afternoon I saw "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever," at the Irish Repertory Theatre.  Let's just say the singing was wonderful.  Melissa Errico, Stephen Bogardus and John Cudia sang the score very well.  Some of the original songs were eliminated, such as "Tozy and Cosh" and "Don't Tamper with My Sister" (probably a good thing ) and the plot has been changed. There's no fiancé anymore.  No Greek tycoon.   I enjoyed it overall.

Lots of laughs tonight at the Golden Girls Live.  The guys (a real-life married couple) who play Dorothy and Sophia are the best, I think.  They really reminded me of Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty.  All four were good.  There was a lot of ad-libbing, which made it fun.

The last of the folks just left. One friend really needed to talk and it was good to see her let go and deal with some of the anger that has built up in her life. She's had a lot of trials in her life, including the deaths of a child and a stepchild. And it was good to see her let her guard down and open up. It's not something she does often, and hopefully she will continue with another friend who has done grief counseling.

I preferred Hannah's "The Nightingale".

I looked it up and the first 911 call was made in Feb 1968 in Alabama.    I can't find when it was first used in Alaska.

Thanks for the note on 911. I never knew that. When I was growing up, you called 0 for an operator in case of an emergency.

I don't remember when we began calling 911.

It was hard to read the audience about the big announcement, but I know it's the right thing and I know people are really tired of the food at The Federal.  But there was no choice, really, because the actual management of The Federal has never cared a whit about us and our long-running show that has made them a considerable chunk of change these six and a half years.  They've not only never thanked us, they've been downright rude, mean, and unhelpful on any number of occasions, in addition to simply bumping our show out of its regular slot because some one-time only thing came in making them more money.  I'm really happy about the move.

Well, I didn't get everything done that I needed to (list, all the organizing, laundry ::) ), but I did get the cake made!  It's not dry, so I can't paint it, yet.  But here it is...so far:

DR George I bet there are videos on line that might help with the injection part.  I am surprised she was only shown how to do it.  I actually did it at the vets office.  I was lucky too that our pet sitter was a tech there and, as a favor to us, talked me through it again at our house.

They are going back tomorrow, and the vet tech said if they need to come back he will show/instruct them more thoroughly.  I think my niece had successfully done it once before, but I think her confidence is just not there now.

Did you buy those fake laptops from the website I directed you to?

Thanks for the link, Michael.  Those were pretty cool, but expensive (the number that we needed would've cost my entire budget).  I actually was able to get some non-working laptops loaned for free.  A local computer shop is owned by a theater parent and he supports local productions whenever he can, and this time he could!

I think Bobby Short may be the only other artist that I have that much music of.
