Well, you've read the notes, the notes were finally written on finally Friday, and now it is time for you to post until the Friday cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ULLAGE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
The anxieties and crap continue. I had a scare with Thatch yesterday that only added to my fiscal anxiety, but he seems to be okay, so I'm grateful for that one bit of good news this week. Everything else remains in turmoil. Thank God for Joshie and Encores!
-
Good morning to all.

I became a fan of Mary Cleere Haran thanks to the two albums BK released and two others. I also saw her perform live on several occasion and she ended up living about ten minutes from me.
Unfortunately she died tragically in 2011. She was riding her bicycle when she was struck by a car coming out of a driveway. She never regained consciousness and passed away two days later.
I still listen to her four albums. I loved her jazz influenced singing style and her song choices keeping the great American songbook alive.
Here is a video of her singing. No Love No Nothin'

Good morning, all.

Great story about Richard Rodney Bennett in the notes. Now all I want to do is go home and watch Enchanted April, a favorite.

TOD
I have The Devil Is a Woman from Netflix. But Lethal White also came in from the library and I got 30 pages into it last night and didn’t want to stop.
-
Friday.
Run thru vibes for MR BK & co.
-
It's rainy here today as well DR GINNY.
-
Birdy Barnum likes his new perch - it is the HIGHEST point in his cage and when he sits there he is eye to with me....
-
Good morning, all.
-
Friday. Finally, the finale.
-
Good morning.
-
TOD:
CD - Porgy and Bess, Ben Bagley/Harold Arlen, and a Perry Como (yes, Perry Como) album I picked up at the library sale.
BLU - New releases of Creepshow, Trick ‘r Treat, Night of the Demon, and Revenge of the Creature (3D).
Yes, I have finally made a bit of a return to some listening and watching.
-
Tonight I play the opening of “Addams Family” for one group, and tomorrow night I go to see “Addams Family” by another group in which a couple of friends are involved.
Seriously? Well, yes, providing the weather cooperates on tomorrow’s. Which it might not, since we have an all day rainy nor’easter blowing in for tomorrow.
-
But I’m rather hoping the show does go on tomorrow, if for no other reason than I will then have played in two Addamses and seen two other Addamses within one region in half a year.
-
Friday morning greetings! Richard is in meetings this morning and will be finished about noon. We’re heading to Vicksburg for a couple of days and will tour the battlefield tomorrow. His great grandfather fought in the Battle of Vicksburg.
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning.
-
Wow! There must be an echo.
-
Slow morning at HHW.
-
So, I’ll be in Germany by the time of the office Christmas party. Journey is playing this year. Big deal. Don’t stop believin’.
-
I’d rather have Earth, Wind and Fire or ZZ Top come back.
-
I’d rather have Earth, Wind and Fire or ZZ Top come back.
You would rather them come back, because you won't be there?
-
The last 24 hours have been a nightmare.
AT&T convinced us that we would save $20.00 per month on our bill if they installed new wiring, so we agreed. The job was supposed to take an hour or two. (The technical aspects of what they had to do is above my pay grade, so don't ask.)
The technician was supposed to arrive yesterday between 9-11 AM. AT&T called and told us he would be late. He got here at 1 PM. While he was doing his work, we had no phone, TV or Internet.
At 4 PM, he called in back-up. Still no TV, phone or Internet.
The two techs went home at 9 PM. We had phone service, but no TV or Internet. Missed several shows we wanted to see. :-(
The 2nd technician came back this morning around 9:30. He left about 10 minutes ago.
We now have TV, phone and Internet.
Both of the technicians were nice, capable guys, but the system they have to work with is really crap.

Ha! You expect logic from me?

Phone vibes for DR Druxy.
-
Two!
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Page two? Really?
-
Have a conference call at eleven-thirty.
-
Had some excellent chicken enchiladas with a spicy tomatillo salsa for lunch. My tummy is very happy.
-
Druxy, hoping they left everything working OK!
-
Vibes for DR DRUXY.
In my neighborhood - when the AT&T truck comes to someone's house....it is there for at least half and day.....and then about one month later - it comes back....and the next day the COMCAST truck is at the house....
-
Conference call vibes for MR BK.
-
Opening night vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
-
Rainy rain rain today....and cool.
-
I bought a new clock at the Goodwill yesterday to put in the Music Room....formerly MY ROOM....and a new table lamp that looks a lot like our new lamps we got last year for the living room.....it was a black label (Hey, Mabel!)...so it was only $5 instead of $10.
The clock had spaces to put photos so I used 12 family photos to make a nice looking timepiece.

Groan. At the least I would insist you have a reduction of 1 day on your bill. Of course that might not be worth the phone call required.

I had an early PT appointment today followed by a dermatologist appointment for a check.
-
The therapist did the Indian burn bands again followed by the cups. While the cups were still on I extended my arm farther than it has gone and bent it much farther. I can't go as far either direction now, but it will happen again.
-
I didn't think I needed as many spots removed this time. I was only right about my face which, I think, was only sprayed twice. The spot that really hurts is high on the back of my thigh. Sitting and walking bother it.
I only had one biopsy, not bad for me. Fingers crossed it won't require a removal though I expect it will. I wish she would just remove the darn things so I don't have to return.

I just talked to AT&T. They are giving me a 50% discount on next month's phone bill.

Excellent, better than I expected.
-
We stopped at the market today on the way home and I lost my window to walk before it rained. At some point, rain or not, I should get out.
-
At least I accomplished the unpleasant task of icing my elbow. I had to leave PT to go to the dermatologist and didn't do it there. They have much softer ice packs than we have.

Does that mean you got a special kind of ice pack from the dermatologist?
(If so, what's it called?)

Good news DR DRUXY.
DR JANE it sounds like you are making progress.

As “A Chorus Line” draws near: The word was Ed Kleban had an aversion tom his own lyric for "What I Did For Love" as he didn't believe the sentiment. But of course it feels like great writing for character, whatever the lyricist himself felt. (There were reportedly quips like "We felt sure Ed was straight, because he hated women less than he hated men."
Some people who’d found Ed Kleban a bit less benevolent than he was portrayed in Broadway's “A Class Act” have kidded that real fun for Mr. Kleban might possibly have been seeing the reactions of the 298 people who didn’t win the $100,000 even more than the joy of the 2 who actually won. :). So imagining Ed Kleban addressing the non-winners of the $100,000 Kleban Prize.

Call was fine, then I went and had a cup of clam chowder, a side Caesar, and a chili, cheese, and onion hot dog. It really was WAY too much food and I'm kind of nauseous right now.

Sorry, the ice pack is at PT. It is long and in little sections to wrap easily, plus it is soft instead of hard. The use the same, whatever these are, for heat as well. I use heat before therapy and cold after. Such fun ;)
-
DR Jeanne did you watch Bodyguard? We decided to wait for your reaction before watching it. I am surprised you aren't watching The Woman in White, not that I am-lol
-
Good news DR DRUXY.
DR JANE it sounds like you are making progress.
Now I have stiffened back up. I could feel my face light up at PT while I was moving it :)

Continued vibes for you DR JANE.
And vibes for DR JEANNE....as she continues to walk in the healthcare maze.

Hello, everyone.
-
My week wasn't as bad as BK's, but things do seem to be strange these days, and not just for me.

Technology vibes for DR Druxy.
Glad you got a discount!

No, Jane, I decided that I needed something quieter last night, so I watched LARK RISE TO CANDLEFORD, an old favorite. I will give BODYGUARD a try--maybe tonight--and will post my reaction.
As for THE WOMAN IN WHITE, I saw it many years ago. It wasn't a favorite then. I believe the one airing now is a new version. Ho-hum. We'll see.

TTFN.

...and here we are in Vicksburg, Mississippi. All settled into our hotel, which is much nicer than the University of Memphis conference center where we spent the last two nights.
-
Came home and took a nap. I think I'm still feeling something from that flu shot.
-
Went outside and picked several jalapenos from the one plant. That's about 20 so far this year. There are a few more still growing.
-
There are also figs all over the tree, which I doubt will ripen. Too bad they weren't part of the earlier wave.
-
Now I've started The Devil Is a Woman. I remember BK's notes on what a strange movie this is.
-
What I don't remember is that John Dos Passos wrote the screenplay.
-
Or that the "Spanish" music was inspired by Borodin.
-
Good evening.

I agree about ho-hum. The new version is modernizing the female roles. We opted to pass. My brother is enjoying it so far.
-
And continued vibes to Jane from me.
Thank you. I am feeling good right now after a, once again, surprisingly generous serving of Woodford Reserve. (bourbon). Generous only in that it wasn't skimpy as some places serve it.
-
In fact, vibes to us all!
DITTO ON THAT!

Finally, after 319 days the Myanmar court freed the Reuters journalists on bail in the incitement case :)
-
I need to wake up soon cuz I don't want to fall asleep watching tv.

Starting to watch a film version of Faust to start listening to German. It's long, fairly good and the subtitles aren't word for word, so I can hear some differences
-
But I want to go back to Lethal White.
-
But I want to go back to Lethal White.
I'm enjoying it. I just finished chapter 22 (31% on my Kindle). :D
-
Well, I must be off. I have no plans other than to go home and watch some TV, maybe do a load of laundry before it gets too late...or not. We'll see. ;)
Be back later.
-
But before I go...Gratuitous Post #100!
-
First we are watching episode one of "11.22.63".

Back... from my one performance of this particular "Addams".
I didn't speak of this after my one rehearsal with them, but frankly, I was surprised at how good the core cast -- AND the audience -- were at tonight's opening.
Something happened with these kids between Tuesday night and tonight. Most (not all) showed themselves to really "get" these roles. And the lines. The lines! For their part, the audience, which for opening night was probably peopled with many friends and family, was actually listening to the lines and responding, appropriately and beautifully, to practically every joke. And coming back to the kids, they handled applause and laughter timing like seasoned professionals. WTF? And what a damned pleasure.
-
Back from a pretty damn decent designer run-through. Not too many calls for lines, our problem actress got her first laugh today by doing a line exactly how I told her, too, but then promptly forgetting every lyric in the song - I'm not willing to take that chance and if she'd not letter perfect by Sunday night (our deal with her casting was she would know the song by heart at the first music rehearsal) - she'll be out and I've already figured out how to replace her.
-
If only I could say the "orchestra" measured up accordingly. We were six: me on keyboard (piano only), another keyboardist, one reed, one cello, bass, and drums. Unfortunately, I have to say that the bass player and I were the only real ones.
And isn't it sad, when you can't even say that about the drummer? Lordy.
But the gal on reeds, the keyboardist (oh, let's not even go there...), and the cellist who sat right behind me?
Think, men, think.
Okay, they were very inexperienced students playing their first show. But I heard nary a sound out of them. Nary a sound. The director could thank her lucky stars that I was there. Likewise, for the person I was subbing for. Because there really wouldn't have been any music otherwise.
-
Where's Jane? She must have left.
I just watched the first two episodes of BODYGUARD. Definitely a thriller. VERY suspenseful. Interesting, too. I can see why it's a big hit in the UK. Don't turn it on planning to just watch a few minutes.
-
And vibes for DR JEANNE....as she continues to walk in the healthcare maze.

One more post.

I’m sorry, I know this is not a place for political comments, but what the Hell is wrong with that guy in the White House?
-
In the last two days we have had 14 bombs delivered to various individuals who have done nothing more wrong than to disagree with Trump.
-
Instead of learning about the danger of his damaging comments, he goes into his political rally this evening and he starts in on his ”Crooked Hillary” garbage, knowing fully well that it will stir up his crowds.
-
What is it going to take for him to realize what he is doing? Does one of his enemies have to be murdered before he wakes up to what he is doing? Maybe that is what he wants. It is total madness!
-
If someone dies, he should be held responsible for their death. Lock him up!
-
Sorry. This world is in a very dangerous place right now.
-
Good bye.

But I want to go back to Lethal White.

Tom, I COMPLETELY agree with you...as do a LOT of my friends (and most of my family).
-
Sorry to have been E&T

Hope all is well with all of you

Goodnight
-
Today was a day of meetings for me at work. I'm supposed to have individual meetings with my staff to check in every once in a while to prepare for their evaluations at the end of the year. I haven't been having as many as I probably should (meaning any). ::)
-
So, I was able to schedule one last night and the other four today. They were relatively painless for me. I'm just not used to running a meeting, even a one-on-one, but I got through them. My staff had no problems with them. I just to get used to having them.
-
Sorry to have been E&T
Hi, Vixmom.

Thanks, and with you!

Goodnight
Bye, Vixmom.
