Well, you've read the notes, the notes were crazy, and now it is time for you to post until the crazy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MULTITUDINOUS!
-
TOD: What is your absolute favorite food/meal?
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And a happy Day After National Black Cat Day to ye, DR Laura.
-
Friend Kristi and I are soon to be off to the Aquarium for the day, where she volunteers and I take in a free IMAX and walk around taking a lot of pictures of areas in which upcoming changes are ... um ... upcoming.
-
And forthcoming. Oh yes, they are forthcoming.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD: What is your absolute favorite food/meal?
Roast chicken with crispy skin is about as perfect as a meal can be. Baked tomatoes. Green beans or asparagus and a salad with avocado and radishes on the side. Sourdough bread with butter. Panna cotta or berries in heavy cream for dessert.
-
What time will it be ready?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I fed the cats and went back to bed. I'm trying to acclimate them to everything being an hour later next week. I do not want two anxious kitties dancing on Daddy at 5:45AM next Sunday.
-
I have to run to Broadway Farms this morning for more deli turkey, and this afternoon Joshie and I are seeing the matinee of Ordinary Days on 42nd Street.
-
Sunday.
-
Good morning!
-
To market, to market!
-
Good morning.
-
I wish I could stay in bed and finishing reading the last 3 chapters of my book but I must get moving.
-
Hmmmmm my favorite, that's hard to say, it depends on the day
-
Though it's hard to beat a perfectly cooked, tender piece of beefsteak, medium rare with sautéed onions and mushrooms in Sherry sauce with a baked Idaho potato and a buttery crescent roll,and a side of cauliflower casserole
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep - I stayed up until four and got through seven, so I assume there are three more episodes. Man do they drag it out to cover that many episodes. I could go in there with a good editor and cut it down to seven or eight for sure.
-
I'm at the Rocky Horror rehearsal. It's only their second time on the set. Here's a picture that I took yesterday:
-
And here's the set in pink light:
-
And just because, here's a picture of the tickets that David got for On Your Feet:
-
I still have to get a few more props for the show: a pointer for the narrater, a riding crop, a newspaper, and the ushers' boxes to sell goody bags before the show still need to be painted.
-
And just because, here's a picture of the tickets that David got for On Your Feet:
How was the leg room at the Paramount, George?
-
What is this page one malarkey?
-
Up from a nice nap.
-
Let’s move on
-
Two!
-
Like Elmore, I’m off to the market.
-
Thank you, John.
-
God, I hate learning lines!
-
Don’t get me wrong. I love saying the lines, but the learning part gets harder and harder to do.
-
Page 2? Really?
-
The Seahawks beat the Detroit Lions today, 28 to 14.
-
I want to take a break from learning my lines.
-
The only trouble is that I have taken more breaks than I have spent time learning my lines.
-
Well, not really.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings from Natchez, MS! We drove down through Louisiana so Richard could add it to his list of states visited. Had a nice lunch at Magnolia Grill and now we’re going to explore a bit.
-
I've been trying to understand modern anti-Semitism and synagogue safety and such, and I ran across this written by a Rabbi back in January, about the high percentage of Jewish men in the male-female cases. (and also Les Moonves, which was more recent)

Caution: The cartoon of Harvey Wenstein might offend some people.

God, I hate learning lines!
Didn't the ladies in GYPSY not like doing lines ion the routines?
-
And just because, here's a picture of the tickets that David got for On Your Feet:

We both were pretty comfortable. But then the tickets were in row F on the main floor, so I'm sure that that helped.

Congrats to the Seahawks!
-
God, I hate learning lines!
I have a copy of the Christmas Story script, and our first rehearsal isn't until November 5, but I haven't looked at it since the audition.
-
I'm now at my parents' for dinner...spaghetti. :D
Be back later.
-
Finished Making a Murderer - ultimately very annoying, which I'll talk about in the notes.
-
Now I must get ready for rehearsal.
-

Is the Magnolia Grill named after the heroine of Show Boat? Her wedding to Ravenal happens on the levee at Natchez.

I am back from Ordinary Days and I recommend it highly. The show's about four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect several years after 9/11 and performed by a wonderful cast of four, all good singers, and accompanied by a band of three, led by my friend John Bell. Joshie's brother Jeremy played flute, oboe, English horn, clarinet and alto sax beautifully.

Marc delaCruz was in the readings of "The Last Starfighter" that BK was one of the heads in, 2006.
-
I was posting my Times comment under the review while you were at the show. (I think?)
first part if my comment under here. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/26/theater/ordinary-days-review.html
I’m a huge fan of Adam Gwon and his work! But there was a period where Adam Gwon was winning literally every award known to non-name writers. (He was like a songwriter version of Adele, when she had a few years that it seemed a law had been passed that if there’s an award, she had to win something!) My spouse went to the O’Neill Center in Connecticut one summer and when he called home, he said “I met Adam Gwon just as we drove in” and I said ”Don’t tell me, he’s a really nice person, too?” “Yeah, he is.”
(etc)

I think I have the original cast recording. I'll dig it up.
-
Is his autobiography Gwon with the Wind?
-
There's no groaning at HHW.
-
I'm now watching a trifle called Boy on a Dolphin.
-
A very sexy Sophia Loren and lots of Greek scenery.
-
And very little else, despite the presence of Alan Ladd and Clifton Webb.
-
Let's move on.
-
Three!
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
What is your favorite dolphin movie?
-
What is your favorite dolphin movie?
Thatch says Flipper!
-
I tried something new for dinner tonight: Caulipower. It's a frozen pizza with a cauliflower crust. I added a jalapeno from the garden and some fresh basil. It was actually fairly good. I got the three-cheese version. Given that it's low carb, I just might have to try it again.

Good for Thatch. I'm sure Annabelle could hardly care less since she wasn't the star.
-
Ntozake Shange has died. She was only 70. That means she was in her 20s when for colored girls ... opened.
-
I have her cookbook, which is more political than recipe filled.

It could well be, DR Elmore, because it’s on Silver Street, all that’s left of the under-the-hill part of town. It’s where the riverboats docked and had a pretty unsavory reputation. Now it’s quaintly restored shops and restaurants.
-
I’ve been hearing about these cauliflower pizzas being a thing.
I want one.
-
Now.

I was surprised to find it in the freezer section of my local supermarket. No place fancy.
-
George, I enjoyed the photos.
-
Vertically challenged Alan Ladd has a lot of shots with a kid. Every time he's with Sophia Loren in a shot, they're either sitting or getting out of a boat in which he's one level or step above her.

That was really long. I only read a little over half of it and was speeding through it by then. It was a tough read but interesting. "All men are pigs", to me, basically means this type of behavior is across the board and not just within one or two groups of religious groups.
In reverse racism, I have been told by many women over the years they wish they were Jewish because Jewish men make the best husbands.

I have seen the cauliflower pizza crusts for sale and have been curious to try one.

We had an errand to do in Portland today. On the way home we stopped at Fort Vancouver and Officer's Row to walk and enjoy the last of the fall colors. We were concerned we would be caught in the rain but the storm skirted us and then the sun came out :)
-
I am procrastinating doing my difficult exercises. I had better walk away from the computer and do what I can.

This brand, Caulifpower, had both the crusts by themselves or fully made pizzas.
-
Well, I'm not ready to start Shampoo (another library film with Tony Bill in it) or One from the Heart or anything else tonight. I'm headed back to Lethal White. I'm almost at the point where George was the other day.

Maybe you should talk to Liza about it

We rarely eat pizza anymore but this will be an excuse to do so.

Yesterday I was still very sore from PT on Friday. This evening was much better and I found a more comfortable way to do the exercises. I also figured out a soft, not too cold way to ice afterwards.
-
Page three? Really?
-
Had an interesting rehearsal - we did run the whole show, but occasionally stopped to work the set change (involving four moving panels). I also added some new moves for the last three scenes. They work very well and are very light. One actress who has been a problem was one hour late, professing she thought we started at six. Funny that, as the calendar clearly says five. Another actress' mom is near death, so she's flying out tomorrow and won't return to us until Friday. Another actress has lost her voice - no surprise to me, certainly. So, rehearsing this week is going to be really hellish because another actress is also gone until Thursday. So, the first time I will have my full cast again isn't until Friday, at which point we are one week from tech, which infuriates me as this week is pretty much a lost week in terms of doing proper run-throughs with our full company.

SHOW VIBES!
-
Good evening.
-
Page 3? Seriously?
-

Well, I got the pointer*, an actor is going to bring a riding crop for Frank-N-Furter, my parents have newspapers but I forgot to bring some home when I went over there today, and the ushers' boxes are going to be wrapped in thick (heavy duty) silver wrapping paper.

Where the
f*** Hell heck is everybody tonight?
-
* And here it is! I bought the black one at The Dollar Tree:

Oh, look! It's Page Four!
-

Hi, Tom.
-
Um, page FOUR? REALLY?
-
Page 4

I bought a cauliflower crust sometime late last year (I think).
-
I liked it, but didn't love it.
-
Listening to a fantastic CD, another I found in a box in the garage - a ballet of Washington Square by a Canadian composer called Michael Conway Baker. And for one of the handful of times in my life, I found his website and wrote him a fan letter. This ballet is stunning - great melodies, beautiful orchestrations, just fantastic.
-
I might've put more sauce on it that it can handle, because it didn't seem to hold up and stay together.
-
I like pizza with extra sauce. :)
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
I haven't tried an already topped cauliflower pizza, though. Maybe I should.

That's pretty cool, BK.

Yup! The actual product name is "Teaching Tree Classroom Pointer Finger."
-
It's also listed on Dollar Tree's website:

I feel like I have been drugged today.

The product name on the item that I got is called that:
-
Here's the other side:
-
Chris, the director, liked it. ;D
-
I feel like I have been drugged today.
Oh, no!

~~~Feel Better Vibes for Tom!!~~~
Oh, I feel okay, I just keep falling asleep.
DITTO ON THOSE VIBES!
Oh, I feel okay, I just keep falling asleep.
Oh, okay. Well, then...
~~Stay Awake (when necessary) Vibes for Tom!!~~~
Oh, I feel okay, I just keep falling asleep.
Good. Sleep well tonight and be alert tomorrow.
-
;)
-
George, I enjoyed the photos.
Thanks, Jane!
-
I finally finished my book and should attempt sleep.
-
'night
-
I finally finished my book and should attempt sleep.
Good...on both counts! ;)
-
Good night, Jane.
And just because...here's another picture of the set but with rehearsing actors on it:
-
And this one:
-
George, did ROCKY have a sitz probe today?
-
We had a huge storm this afternoon.
-
We had thunder, lightening, heavy winds, and torrential rain.
-
George, did ROCKY have a sitz probe today?
No, that was this past Thursday. I was going to stay for it, but I ended up not.
-
So, no orchestra rehearsal today?
-
We had thunder, lightening, heavy winds, and torrential rain.
It only lasted about twenty minutes, but it was pretty scary.
-
It's hard to believe that next Monday, Rocky Horror will be over and A Christmas Story starts rehearsals!
-
Do you happen to know Leo Foster?
-
So, no orchestra rehearsal today?
Some of the band was there, but I don't know if they all were there. It's not a huge group...maybe six members.
-
Do you happen to know Leo Foster?
No. Who is he?
-
Do you happen to know Leo Foster?
No. Who is he?
He is a she.
-
She is our stage manager. She just now put out tomorrow’s rehearsal schedule, because she said she was stuck in a orchestra pit all day.
-
I just thought it might be ROCKY.
-
She is our stage manager. She just now put out tomorrow’s rehearsal schedule, because she said she was stuck in a orchestra pit all day.
I don't remember if there was a woman. And our band is not in a pit. They're behind the set on stage left.
-
Okay. Just a hunch.
