Well, you've read the notes, you've digested the notes, you feel abridged and tabbed, and now it is time for you to post until the Readers Digest version of the cows come home.

Will George ever get off his butt cheeks.

Ann has left the room.

It's the ATTACK OF THE WUSSBURGERS.

Now, why doesn't George get off his butt cheeks and post?

Here's my post:

I was supposed to see a local production of Closer Than Ever last night (Wednesday), but I got a call from the theater with the message that they were cancelling the performance that night.  It turns out that one of the actors had died.  My dear friend Nona Holm (and her husband Dan) were found yesterday morning, apparently dead from carbon monoxide poisoning.  They were in their 60s and very active people.  Kris, the box office manager at the theater and also a friend of mine, told me that at first they were going to cancel the rest of the run (it was supposed to end this Saturday), but Dan and Nona's children said that they should perform and have some sort of tribute to Nona.  So that's what they're going to do.  They'll have the last three shows starting tonight (Thursday) and I'm going to go on Friday.  That's my post.  It's been quite a day. :'(

All of the Seattle TV stations have had short reports on their deaths.  Here's an article in the on-line version of The Olympian newspaper:

Death of couple near Black Lake attributed to carbon monoxide

A couple was found dead in their residence at 6315 Glen Annie Court this morning.

Neighbors identified the couple as Dan and Nona Holm, who were in their 60s.

Thurston County Sheriff’s Chief Criminal Deputy Dan Kimball said it appears the poisoning was accidental.

Black Lake Fire Department Chief Bob Lord said carbon monoxide was detected in the home at 2-3 times the level considered safe.

Lord said the couple’s daughter-in-law went to the house this morning to drop off her son for babysitting and was unable to get into the home. A neighbor assisted and they found the couple unconscious in their bedroom. They were dressed in their night clothes.

Their van was running inside the adjoining garage. It was unclear how long the van was running, according to Kimball.

The street is a cul de sac near Delphi Country Club.

A small dog was also found dead in the residence.

Good morning, all!  I'm on the last refrain of the medley, so an end is in sight.  I think it's going rather well, but now I'm too far into the forest to see any trees.  When I finish, I'll read back through it for errors on my part:  reed changes, really unreadable pages, possible fixes.

DRGeorge, I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's death.  In the 1970s I worked for an office supplies company, and one of the furniture delivery men, Ollie Lige, and his wife Minnie were very dear to me.  They died of carbon monoxide poisoning a few years after I moved to New York.  I still think of them.

I always go for the tabloid casting; always good for the ratings:
ALBERT:  David Gest
ROSIE:  Pamela Anderson
KIM:  Michael Jackson
MAE:  Liza Minnelli
HUGO:  Tommy Lee

"WASHINGTON, Feb. 9 - In the months before the Sept. 11 attacks, federal aviation officials reviewed dozens of intelligence reports that warned about Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, some of which specifically discussed airline hijackings and suicide operations, according to a previously undisclosed report from the 9/11 commission.

The report discloses that the Federal Aviation Administration, despite being focused on risks of hijackings overseas, warned airports in the spring of 2001 that if "the intent of the hijacker is not to exchange hostages for prisoners, but to commit suicide in a spectacular explosion, a domestic hijacking would probably be preferable."

The Bush administration has blocked the public release of the full, classified version of the report for more than five months."

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/10/politics/10terror.html?th

I have one question..WHY would the Bush Admisnistration want to block this report? Can ANYONE think of a legitimate reason? (Other than the obvious, so he would win the election)

I have just finished reading all the notes and posts I missed during the month of December. I don't post as often during that time because I'm off from work and I spend about two weeks volunteering for Broadway Cares/EquityFights AIDS. Then we usually go out to Long Island for much of the rest of the holidays. I don't log on much then so the posts pile up. In the first couple of months I take the time to read everything I missed and I am now officially caught up. Whew!

Anyway, I will think about th TOD and perhaps come back with some casting notes.

Tonight, Dame Edna.

Yesterday a rather predictable and boring new play called McReel. An Off-Broadway piece mounted by Roundabout Theatre in their (not so new anymore) 46th Street space, just down the block from Danise's hotel, The Muse, and I believe Ginny's Hotel, the Comfort Inn. Anyway, the show had some good people in it but it just turned out to be a bland evening of theatre.

The night before was a small musical piece called Picon Pie about the life of Molly Picon (pronounced pecan for those of you wondering). June Gable, who played Joey's agent on Friends does an excellent job in an almost one-woman show taking us from Molly's first years in vaudeville through to the end of her life. There are appearences by Stuart Zagnit mostly as her husband of 56 years but also as her father, her other managers and some other minor characters in her life. The music used in the show is almost all from Yiddish theatre and it's done quite well. Having little knowledge of this music, I don't have much basis for judgement but I enjoyed it. Picon lived to be 94 years old and worked for many of her later years, especially after her husband died. She was devestated by his death and took some time off but then began to feel lost and went back to work as a rememdy. The script itself is a bit predictable and even though it's the story of someone's life, you can see some things coming a mile away, but the performances are so genuine and well done that you can get past that easily. It was a pleasant evening in the theatre.

Vixmom, thanks for your kind words. I actually do a bit of reviewing on the side. I'm a BBC fanatic. I listen to many of the stations on-line and 2 years ago I happened on a Radio Wales program called Showtime which plays theatre and movie music. I was listening for a few weeks when the host opened the show by playing the overture to Gypsy. I was seeing the revival the next night and sent an e-mail saying how much fun it was to hear the overture the afternoon before seeing the show. Well, the producer of the show e-mailed me back saying Beverly was interested in hearing my thoughts about Gypsy and could she call me to tape my "review". A chance to appear on the BBC? Like I'm going to turn that down. I thought it would be a one-time lark but apparently I impressed Beverly enough that it has become an on-going venture. I only review musicals for Showtime (since the show plays theatre and film music) even though I see lots of theatre. I see a number of shows, write a 90 second review (boy is that hard) and then when I have a group of reviews, the producer calls me and we record the reviews over the phone and they are put into Bev's shows as she sees fit. They are mixed with music from the show being reviewed (if it's possible, sometimes it's not because there is no cast recording) and there is an intro from Bev and a tag after my segment. It's been quite a wonderful gift to a former actor who has loved radio and lamented the state of it in this country. I've had 31 reviews broadcast so far (31! Even I'm amazed). The show is available on the Internet for one week after each broadcast so I can go on and record it at my leisure. I record them when they are played and I have the first 21 segments on a CD. I have recorded everything since which 10 so far with 5 more in the hopper to be broadcast. I am about to record a new set of segments which will include Good Vibrations, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and some other shows. I will have Volume 2 of my very own CD sometime in the summer.

And that, my dear, is a rather long-winded response to your kind words.

On Sunday afternoon we also had a CMD installed. Our super came around to each apartment in the unit and installed a combo CMD and fire alarm. It is a new law in New York. I don't know if it's just the 5 boroughs or the entire state of NY but we now have a new unit replacing the one installed in March of 1990 (when we took it off the wall the unit still had the post-it I attached with the date of installation).

I’ve got an “e-dictionary”. It’s quite compact and looks cute. It has a huge capacity, nine Japanese dictionaries, nine English dictionaries (included Japanese-English, English-Japanese, Oxford 6th edition and so on), Easy conversations of seven different languages, Internet terms and Medical terms for home and more.
I didn’t try much yet but it might be nice.

Well I am not suprised, maybe you could take those reviews and get yourself afflliated with one of the local NPR stations  or the News or Newsday all of whom (IMHO) are desperately in need of some competent reviewers.  I would love to hear some of your work,  Unfortunately my computer at work has no speakers and the computer at home is still on dial up and is so slow that I cannot get radio broadcasts.(Which is why I still have never heard this site's  radio show ) Would you consider burning me a CD and giving it to me at Penny's show?

Was very restless this morning and rather than trying to force more sleep, I flipped on the TV and what did I feast my eyes on on TCM but THE BIG HOUSE and A FREE SOUL, neither of which I had ever seen all the way through. Enjoyed both for what they were, though Chester Morris' girl friend in the former film was a truly terrible actress. You could drive trucks through the pauses she'd make between speeches.

Feeling much, much, much better this morning.  In fact, the thing in my side wasn't hurting at all this morning.  Well, that was until I tried seeing if it still hurts - twisted this way, stretched that way.  Ah, well... We had a similar thing happen here on Long Island last year,, it killed most of the family. I think what happened in that situation was the father started the car running in the garage to warm it up, then decided not to go out after all and forgot that it was running........

DR MATTH speaking of TCM.

Last night I watched for the first time LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT.  Whew!  Katharine Hepburn, Ralph Richardson, Jason Robards Jr, and Dean Stockwell.  Directed by Sidney Lumet.  The girl playing the maid was a WEAK link - but how could she NOT be?

I am stunned at this film.  Emotionally powerful and yet not OVER acted or flashy.  I don't know if I ever want to see it again.

AND then this morning....the opposite....MOURNING BECOMES ELECTRA with everyone (especially Rosalind Russell and Katina Paxinou) behaving as if they were in a Clyde Fitch melodrama.  Ugly costumes and settings....just so bad ...  so bad.

Well, I'm back, kind of.  Thanks to all the folk who emailed me.  I am still suffering from a severe bronchial ailment and will probably have to go back to the doctor today, even though I've completed the "cure"--Zithromax.  The kids are finally back in school after two weeks (!!), but Betsy is still pretty sick.  This has hit us all pretty hard since we are hardly ever sick and there has only been one previous time that all four of us were sick at the same time.  Add to the misery the fact that Betsy's parents are in town (that doesn't sound quite right--wait, there's more :) ) and they are sick, too (there, that's the misery part) and you have some idea of why I've been E&T.

Re:  JRB.  Well, Jason can be a bit overbearing at times, but he has always been a perfect gentleman and scholar with me personally.  And I find his writing frequently inspired.  His orchestrations on Last 5 Years, especially the string writing, were superb.  When I told him so, he was rather touched and said "It's always nice to know someone's really listening."

You wouldn't believe how my last name gets spelled.  Will give vixmom the benefit of the doubt and considered it merely a typo as she has spelled it correctly several times in the past.  And when I first came on, I kept wondering why everyone was referring to each other as "doctor" until BK told me it DR meant Dear Reader...

Well, how shall I use the Word of the Day in a sentence?  Ah, I have it.  The Hippie said, "Hey, dude, where did my BONGO?"

I don't remember what we did two weeks ago, although I have no memory of doing an "official" bad casting day of Birdie.

What I DO remember is: BONGO!

Excellent use of BONGO in a sentence, Dr. Pogue.

Gray out today, but maybe the sun'll come out at some point.

You wouldn't believe how my last name gets spelled.  Will give vixmom the benefit of the doubt and considered it merely a typo as she has spelled it correctly several times in the past.

Thanks! I know how you feel, my name is SO simple Debra Mann  - yet I get Deborah Mahon, Derba Man,  etc.

And when I first came on, I kept wondering why everyone was referring to each other as "doctor" until BK told me it DR meant Dear Reader...

When I first came on I referered to WFO as Dr.Orr, which I often call him because he IS a PHD! Some kind DR corrected me and showed me it should have been Dear Reader!   :D but WFO is, of course, DR Dr. WFO   ;D

DR Ben - What a cool thing you do, recording theatre reviews for the BBC!  I, like DR vixmom, would love to have a CD, if you're into production.

Just got back from guest lecturing on funding research to an English class at the University of Dayton.  In small groups, they've been paired with a real nonprofit organization and assigned to research potential funders and write a proposal.

Has anybody ever wondered what folks mean when they said that a comic was so funny he left them in stitches?

Does that mean something was ruptured and had to be sewn up?  Did they laugh so hard they busted a gut?  (I know, I know, "burst a gut" is the correct form...gimme a break!).

Could DR Jose's stitch have been caused by laughing too long/too loudly/too much at something WHILE he was taking exercise?

I follow the "stitch of clothing" phrases (ie., and she wasn't wearing a stitch of clothing!!!).

But to "be in stitches" from laughter must have some amazing genesis.

 D. Marriage of George Washington

I think the question is misleading...possibly deliberate, or possibly because the person asking it doesn't truly understand what he or she has asked.

The "tradition" of double wedding rings started in the Roman Empire and was continued when Christianity began.  It has been a tradition since those times.

However, there was a decline in double ring ceremonies in the U.S. at some point in its early history, primarily because U.S. "men" grew suspicious of men who wore jewelry (gimme a break), but it saw a resurgence during World War II (after the bulk of the U.S. male population finally got exposed to something other than stupidity).

Of all the choices you have, the only logical one is "A", in my opinion.

Yes, both Nona and her husband Dan were very energetic.  Both had a quick wit.  Nona also had a wicked sense of humor and that mischievous glint in her eye.

I am enjoying the choices for unlikely casts for Bye Bye Birdie. MCC Theater holds an annual spring gala benefit called "MISCAST" where Broadway stars sing roles in which they would never be cast. Last year, Karen Ziemba sang "All I Need Is The Girl" from Gypsy, Raul Esparza sang "The Worst Pies in London" from Sweeney Todd,Norbert Leo Butz sang "Little Girls" from Annie, and Emily Skinner sang "Big Black Man" from The Full Monty. In other years, Patti LuPone sang "Trouble" from The Music Man, and in an ironic note, Kristen Chenowith and Harvey Fierstein sang the duet "Do You Love Me?" from Fiddler.
This year's benefit is on Monday,March 14th.

While bored during the Super Bowl, my friend showed me a game he has for his GameCube. It is called Donkey Bongo. Instead of a joystick, it has a pair of bongos you hook up to the game system. Then it plays a song, and it can be any type of song, Tchaikovsky, doo-wop, B-52s, what have you. You have to play along and hit the bongos where noted and in the way it says. Right bongo, left bongo, both, do a roll... It even has a sound sensor because you are supposed to clap sometimes. Now this all sounds very easy, but it is actually quite difficult, and I have a good sense of rhythm.

Anyways, that's my recent bongo experience.

And for those of you who are confused about how taking huge sums of money out of Social Security is going to save it from "bankruptcy":

George W. Bush explains it all for you

As his Social Security roadshow pulled into Tampa, Fla., over the weekend, Bush was asked how his plan would ensure that Social Security won't run out of money down the road. Here, straight from the White House Web site, is the president's answer in its entirety:

"Because the -- all which is on the table begins to address the big cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculate, for example, is on the table; whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or price increases. There's a series of parts of the formula that are being considered. And when you couple that, those different cost drivers, affecting those -- changing those with personal accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be -- or closer delivered to what has been promised.

"Does that make any sense to you? It's kind of muddled. Look, there's a series of things that cause the -- like, for example, benefits are calculated based upon the increase of wages, as opposed to the increase of prices. Some have suggested that we calculate -- the benefits will rise based upon inflation, as opposed to wage increases. There is a reform that would help solve the red if that were put into effect. In other words, how fast benefits grow, how fast the promised benefits grow, if those -- if that growth is affected, it will help on the red.

"Okay, better? I'll keep working on it."

Last year there were no guys who were even close to being outstanding. This year, on the basis of auditions and the quarterfinal rounds we saw this week, there are really quite a few strong men singers. None of the women have blown me away like a handful of the men have.

Question for those who print pics at Walmart/costco ...

I'm not sure how to explain this so it makes sense.  But I have some pics on a cd that i want to get printed (at Costco).  Does it matter what size they are in order for me to print them so they look alright?

I have printed pics before from disk.  And I always just asked for 4X6.  But I never checked to see what size they were.

Now i have pics (jpegs) sent to me by a friend.  And I played around with them and made them smaller.  But none of them are exactly 4X6.  And when i try to resize them to those dimensions they come out misproportioned.

Some of them are 4.5X6. Some are 3.5X5.  I just want to make sure that when i have them printed that they will look okay.

Did that make sense?

I'd be interested to hear which ones you like.  The group with the music teacher (with the long braided hair) was good.  And the little blond kid that almost couldn't talk.  And the blonde country singer girl (i'm quite certain she makes it).

The thing that sort of bugs me is how many of the 72 remaining that we haven't seen.  I wish we could see them all (or at least have them show clips for a few seconds of each person).

Anyway, it was the party where someone brought obscenely delicious ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery. I was very busy consuming mass quantities of said ice cream.

And oh boy, what a spot!
Quite full of things delightful
And few that are not.
There all the beaches are full of peaches
Swimming gaily everywhere
The summer girl is not a prude
Her tastes are simple, even crude,
Her clothing, what there is of it
Is what you might call porous knit
In Bongo! It's on the Congo
And I wish that I was there!

I just said the same thing, Jennifer, to my friend about the number of people who have gotten this far that we really have not heard sing at all. Seems like they pick a few favorites and dwell on them from the audition rounds onward.

I really like Scott, the antisocial farm boy from the Cleveland auditions. He has a very flexible and mellow voice, and his group did have that sensational harmony even though the teddy bear guy didn't make it from the group (sort of surprised he got that far as he was far, far from being the kind of pop star they're supposedly looking for.)

I can't say I was really unhappy with any of the people who were eliminated last night. Many of the male voices this year are so individualistic. Many of the female singers were heard have a very generic sound - good but nothing special. No Fantasias this year (at least so far).

Rosie: Jennifer Garner
Kim: Sarah Michelle Gellar
Hugo: Tobey Maguire
Conrad: James Marsters (Spike on Buffy)
Mae: Kate Mulgrew
Harry McAfee: Willem Dafoe
Mrs. McAfee: Gena Davis (from "The Long Kiss Goodnight"…after she got her memory back :o)

(my update was to correct spelling errors)

I don't remember who scott is.  There are two guys that I find similar.  Is scott the one who was with the bald chubby guy and the smooth black guy (they grew to love him)?  Or is he the guy who wore the jean overalls before and is sort of a hick?

:)

One thing about them focusing on certain people is that certain ones will get fans now (for example constantine the rock and roll guy who left his band). They have showed him so much.

I'm listening to a record of the Drury Lane production of Joe Layton's production of "Gone With the Wind" with music and lyrics by Harold Rome... did anyone actually see this????
Yes Matthew. It was the first musical I saw on my journey to London in 1973. I enjoyed it far more than the film.  June Richie was wonderful and the staging was beautiful. Long ago poster from HHW, Robert Armin was a member of the cast as some stage in the USA tour. Rome's score has some deligthful melodies. It was a pity the production was not given the luxury of a 2 Cd set so that it was all preserved. The Japanese recording of "Scarlett" is worth checking out too.

As for getting pictures developed from a disc at Costco...

It's usually best to let the machine default to 4x6 and then decided which pictures you want to resize from there.  You never really get the "whole" picture even when you print from standard film.  Basically whatever part of the negative or disc image fills the 4x6 space or 3-1/2x5 space will be printed.

If you are doing them yourself at one of those kiosks, then you need to use the Framing option and not the Resizing option.  At least that's what it sounds like to me.

For "fun", you could upload them to a site like Ofoto or SnapFish, and see how the images look in preview - since you can preview them in different sizes.

Yes, Hisaka, who makes that nifty e-dictionary for different languages, and where can we GET one?

Got several packages today, including the new soundtrack releases of Andre Previn's The Subterraneans and Lalo Schifrin's Kelly's Heroes.

Also, just happened to mosey over to my DVD store and got there at just the perfect time - a well-known on-air critic for a cable station was there selling all these DVDs the studios are kind enough to send him.  There is something quite bogus about it all, but I was happy to dive in and get some of them, all of which are not coming out for the next few weeks.  After he was gone, the gal told me he doesn't even bring her the REALLY good stuff - that he sells to his neighbor for fifteen bucks a pop.

I got Charly, Electra Glide in Blue (which I've never seen and I'm sure I'll hate), Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (with commentary track by Peckinpah scholars, including our very own Mr. Nick Redman), All in a Night's Work, and The Blue Lagoon 2-Pack.  All VERY cheap.

DR Hisaka - Those electronic dictionaries are amazing.  Especially the ones that translate Japanese due to all the various kanji and katakana symbols involved.  When I was on the audition with Universal Studios Japan, the ladies always had those with them.  It was fascinating to look over their shoulder every now and then.  One of them even had one with American colloquial expressions in it.  -Although, I doubt "What is it, fish?" was in there.  Yet.

I'm not sure, I will probably just give in the disk for them to do (same price). If i do that, do i need to tell them anything?

Will they just "frame" it?  What I really don't want is for a pic that is 6x4.5 to be resized to 4X6 because it will come out all distorted (like it did when i tried to resize it to 4X6).

Obviously they know what they are doing there.  I just want to make sure.

Oh and of course there is the possibility that i might do them or some myself. And i was curious how to do it (although they could probably help me).

Thanks very much.

This might be a stupid question.  But what do you mean "preview" them?

Is that the same as resizing?  Or is it what it what you called "framing"?

Listening to The Suberraneans.  I do love Andre Previn, and I can pretty much tell you that there will be a Previn song on the new Haines album.

My favorite of Grant's own albums is his latest.  I heard it a few weeks ago and it's really great.  All originals by him.  He's just shopping it around, but if he doesn't get a deal on it, I told him I'd put it out - that will get me off my butt cheeks in terms of this little label I have sitting here like so much fish.

I am taking Friday off so that I can drive down to South Beach (Oregon Coast, just north of Newport) for a fun weekend with George U.

Although we had dated off and on a few years back the distance (we live 2 hours away from each other) was a problem, but we have reunited and things are getting much more serious and we have decided that the distance really shouldn't matter that much. We will see what happens. Anyway, he loves old B-movies and vintage TV shows so I am quite sure this is meant to be! LOL!

"The Bush administration has blocked the public release of the full, classified version of the report for more than five months."

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/10/politics/10terror.html?th

I have one question..WHY would the Bush Admisnistration want to block this report? Can ANYONE think of a legitimate reason? (Other than the obvious, so he would win the election)

I finally got around to asking der Brucer about this, figuring that since he's worked with the government he might have an answer.  And he did.

Many of the SOURCES of information included in the report would be at risk if the full report were to be disclosed.  Revealing the sources would put not only their information-gathering abilities in jeopardy, but in some cases would put the very lives of the people involved in jeopardy.

This blocking of the public release is not just common to the Bush administration, but to every administration within our lifetimes.

You're right about that S. Woody. Keeping the public in the dark is no recent phenomenon.  One of the best things to happen in the last twenty years or so is the enforcement of the Freedom of Information Act, which has allowed us a peek at some of the documents our govt. did not want us to see. Even with the FOIA, it is a battle to retrieve the documents and they are often heavily redacted, but the courts have been pretty strong in siding with FOIA requests.

Before my shows came on tonight, I watched the documentary on the GONE WITH THE WIND DVD set on how they used "Ultra-resolution" on restoring GONE WITH THE WIND. Interesting, but the feature could easily have been twice or three times as long. And I'd love to have seen many many more screen comparisons between old and new and more information on the various GWTW theatrical releases and how each was sold to the public down through the years along with how the advertising got sexier and more vibrant with each successive rerelease.

MBarnum have a good weekend.  Do you have views of the ocean from Steve’s place?

Hi Jane,
Yes his house is on a cliff above the beach....but his name is George (not to be confused with DR George, whose name is also George)....I think Steve belongs to DR JosePiano! LOL!

DR Jennifer - Those photo sites allow you to preview the photos before you order them.

As you indicated, the proportions between 3-1/2x5, 4x6 or even 8x10 are not equal.  As I mentioned, even when you take a picture with regular film, you never get the "whole" picture, the whole frame (of the negative).  Most shots are "framed" in the center of the negative, and depending upon what size the final print is, sometimes you get more or less of the outer edges of the negative/print.

Framing is just moving a "frame" around in a picture.  For example, make a 4x4 frame out of toothpicks or something like that.  When you place that on a standard piece of paper, the area in the middle is "framed".  And you can move that frame to different parts of the page, and, in essence get different pictures.   You are not changing the proportions of the picture, just the area that you are showing/developing/printing.

Some of the kiosks allow you to frame different parts of a picture - like just a face or one particular person in a photo.

I'd say the easiest thing to do is just to upload some pictures and start fooling around with the editing options.  Then you can "preview" your pics on your computer screen.  No, they won't be on paper, but if you did things like change the contrast, added some sort of effect, or even resized the pic, then you can see what it will look like once it's on paper.

Now if the pics you were given were scanned in and not directly from a digital camera, then that's a different issue.  You may just end up with some prints with black bars at the sides and/or top and bottom.  -That happens with panaromic prints that are printed in 4x6 rather than 4x10 (or whatever size).

And if someone says there camera takes prints in different sizes - 3-1/2x5, 4x6, etc. - then they're "lying" to you in sense.  There may be optimum enlargement sizes due to the number of pixels, but the "negative" is pretty standard regardless of the final size of the photo.

Hope this makes sense.

Oh, and about the whole repeal of the "Underpants Law" here in the Commonwealth of Virginia...

Yet one more reason to get out of Richmond!

;)

OK - I'm gonna head downstairs and get a head start on my baking for tomorrow.  The peanut butter cookie recipe I use calls for freezing the balls of dough before they go into the oven.  Very handy - and makes it's very easy to keep some on hand at all times for those "emergency" entertaining situations.  I also like this recipe since it calls for melted butter - no creaming of the butter and sugar involved.  Very easy to mix up by hand.

Okay, I'm back, and let me tell you I'm really confounded that there hasn't been one post in two hours.  This will NOT do, I'm afraid.  I'm afraid this will do NOT.

There will be bitch-slapping aplenty when I finish writing the notes.  This WUSSBURGER ATTACK must stop and stop now.  Otherwise I shall take dire measures, oh, yes, I shall take dire measures.  Here I thought I'd have some excellent reading matter upon my return.

I am so nauseated that the only think I can think of to say is - BONGO!

Does anyone remember the story of Bongo the Circus Bear that was a Disney cartoon (Hell, I'm posting...I'm not getting bitch-slapped).

WOW!

I'm amazed too!

Well, the peanut butter cookie dough balls are in the freezer - which I had to turn "down" since they weren't freezing as fast as they normally do.  The bowls, cups and spoons are all washed...  And I even ended up watching an hour of FoodTV - some bake-off special. Eh..  I would stay up to watch Alton Brown, but..

I need to get to bed.

Goodnight.

I'm here.  Here's my post:  I had instant mashed potatoes with my dinner and the stuff from the box was a very fine powder.  It was really weird.  My experience with instant mashed potatoes has always been either flakes or little pellet-like objects.  Anyway, the taste was okay, but the texture was just wrong.  It was too, too, tooo (that's three toos) smooth. :P
