DR Elmore, buy an electric blanket, and I'll bet Annabelle will sleep with you.

TOD: I have not ever been evacuated, but I have worked in Red Cross shelters when others were evacuated.
That cleaning yesterday made the humidifier very happy, and Annabelle seems quite peppy this morning. She and Thatch are tearing about the apartment.
The motel is totally full, so I think the people are sleeping in the van (that is next to my car).
T.O.D,
We were living in Agoura, CA in 1970 during that Malibu fire.
We had to evacuate in 2 cars. My wife, at the time, got into an accident, and she and two of my step kids had to abandon the car and run through flames to escape. Luckily, I had my son, David, with me. (It was also his first birthday.)
I took David, his grandmother, my stepdaughter and our cat to my cousin's place in Westwood. We didn't know that the rest of the family was okay for several hours.
I am thankful that David is now living here in Austin.
This is probably a dumb question, since one can surely look it up (I will later), but is there a setting on Facebook for turning OFF “events”? Or rather, for turning off everyone else’s apparent ability to set “events” for ME?
Speaking of Facebook, because I had the nerve to refer to Sarah Huckabee Sanders as a "lying white trash cow," after this Acosta video adjustment the White House is sending out as propaganda, I have been banned for 30 days. If I'd known that was going to happen, I'd have called her a "white trash lying c**t."
George, what did you think of the Desperate Measures OOBC?
I think you can appreciate a cast album more when you've seen the show because you understand the context and I've seen the show twice (thank you, Larry!) but I love the CD, I've been listening to it in my car

It was obvious that last night's show was not a LIVE recording....all of the songs were prerecorded....and it was taped on many days NOT all at once.....
Maria was old enough to play Mother Superior....and of course she sang my two favorite things: "....the sown dove Music" and ".....lonely go turd....."
Other such things that annoy me are of course "....beauDEE and the beast...." and "...wooden tit be loverly....."
Today is my brother McBeth's 70th birthday. I could care less.
I thought yesterday was an important date that slipped past me because of the apartment tsuris, and other madness in my life.
I remembered Nov. 9 as the anniversary of Thatch's moving into 202 West 82nd Street, and I was wrong. I went back to the HHW posts from last November, and I carted him home from Dykeman Street on the evening of Nov. 8. He's now 14 months old and one of the two greatest loves of my life.

Should we send him birthday curses??
;)

I enjoyed it. It kept reminding me of Das Barbecü, but I don't know if that's a good thing or not. ::)

No, that's not a bad thing. The show is really quite wonderful.

the sunny weather held although it was qite windy out
The camping people are gone. I stopped on the way back from the conference for a bag of cat food for the feral cats that are hanging around.
I should have been home by five, but alas when I went to leave our long day my car battery was kaput and my front tire was also really low. So, I called the AAA - ninety minutes I was told and ninety damn minutes it was. Thankfully, my sound guys waited but being outside with all the smoke and ash in the air has killed my voice and it was cold, too. Once the guy got there he ascertained the battery was completely dead - and said it was probably because I left something on, but I didn't. But then I remembered when I locked the car with the fob it didn't do the usual beep. That's happened a few times here at home and I've had to go back in, start the car, turn it off, and then lock it again, at which point I'd get the beep and the interior lights would go off as they're supposed to. So, I'm guessing because it didn't beep that the interior lights stayed on and that certainly would do it. So, I was just robbed of two full hours that I desperately needed for eating and relaxing AND I have to keep the car running for an hour and that's another thirty minutes now. So when that time is up I have to go get something to eat because I haven't eaten all day, and I need to put gas in the car, so I'm probably not able to rest until eight, and I have to go to bed right after I post the notes, because I have to be at the studio by nine-fifteen or so. I cannot tell you how annoying all this is. We only did one fun-through today and it was only semi fun because everyone is still getting used to costumes and quick changes and stuff. A few missed sound cues and a couple of missed light cues otherwise it ran VERY smoothly. After, I worked on a few things for specifics, added a blackout after the finale, so everyone could get in place for the curtain call, and that was that. And then the merde I did not need.
I guess George has left the building!
