Well, you've read the notes, the notes were relaxing and off, and now it is time for you to post until the relaxing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: QUAQUAVERSAL!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after Dino.

I've never seen that. ::)

Goodnight, George.
Good night, Tom.

And now, I must be off. I need to go to work for about an hour, then I have a dental appointment at 11:00. I haven't been flossing as diligently as I should've been. Hopefully, that won't be too noticeable. We'll see. ;)
Have a good day, all!

We intentionally avoided it.

DR TCB may this show become fun for you instead of frustrating.
-
I have been awake for a double of hours
-
I tried posting awhile ago and couldn't connect.
-
Again, 'night.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Joshie and I finished the preliminary work on I Married an Angel yesterday, so I am unemployed for a while. I am waiting for a miracle.
-
DR TCB, I expect your play to be wonderful because you are in it and you will make it so. Don't let your frustrations hold you back.

Miracle vibes to DR Elmore, to BK, and to all!

I have never heard of a speed thru on the first day Off-Book, and I have been doing theatre for more than 40 years.....
Vibes for DR TCB - I know you will be wonderful!
Getting the check vibes for MR BK.
Dental vibes for DR GEORGE.

Yes DRjan - Birdy Barnum does indeed shake his tail feathers......

Good morning!

Tuesday morning greetings! Today is Richard's birthday, so we're going to live it up by going to lunch before his annual eye exam.
-
DR Ginny, since I can post nothing on Facebook, please send Richard my birthday felicitations.
-
The plumbers arrived around 8:45 and just finished. Everything looks great and appears to work fine. For now.
-
I'm ready for some breakfast now.
-
But first let's get to Page 2.

!! 2 !!
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Happy birthday to DH Richard!
-
Loved the photos in the notes today, BK.
-
I saw that documentary on Kubrick's assistant. Highly enjoyable.
-
TOD:
I have four Kubrick films at home waiting for me to watch them and they are my favorites:
Dr. Strangelove
The Shining
Barry Lyndon
Full Metal Jacket
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I'm up. I'm up. Since 8:00 a.m.
-
I actually overslept this morning.
-
Not only was last night a speed-through, but the assistant stage manager was taking line notes for all missed words and paraphrases. I received my list by email this morning.
-
So, of course, I am spending my day working on my lines.
-
Who knows what fun tonight will bring?
-
Speaking of fun, where the heck is everybody?
-
Maybe everybody is out starting their Thanksgiving grocery shopping?
-
Thankfully, since I preview the night before Thanksgiving, I don't have to bring anything to Sharry and Micheal's house.
-
DR TCB may this show become fun for you instead of frustrating.
Thank you.

I just got back and I had a good checkup. Evidently, I was flossing and brushing enough to pass muster.

This year, I've been requested to make a cheesecake for Thanksgiving dessert. Years ago, I used to make cheesecakes all the time, but it's been quite awhile, so my mom wants one this year. No problem. I just need to find my specific chocolate turtle cheesecake recipe that used to use. It's delish!
-
Happy Birthday to DH Richard (Ginny's, not mine)!
-
I want a nap.
-
I want my new laptop to work.
-
I want a new page.

That’s the easiest of the three.

Speaking of three...

Happy Birthday to Fr. Richard!

Back from a fun lunch meeting.

I've been pondering why I've been feeling the opening of the show is awkward - house goes out, pre-set goes out, then the actors who are onstage at the lights up take their places, which takes about seven to ten seconds, while we just sit there. Then the lights bump up and the track begins. I just haven't liked it and felt it awkward. This morning the solution came to me - should have probably been obvious but sometimes these things take a while to figure out - I immediately called Richard, our orchestrator/MD and told him to create me an eight-bar "overture" consisting of the first two musical lines of the opening number - a nice, big statement of that tune - that will cover people getting onstage and it goes directly into the opening vamp that was previously our start.
By the time I got home from lunch, Richard had sent me the track, it was perfect, and it will go in tonight.

Hello, everyone.
-
Like DR George, I went to the dentist today for a hygiene visit. Last year at this time my gums looked nasty and I was having discomfort in my jaw. That resulted in a lot of dental work last winter. Today's visit was much more positive. No sign of last year's problems, thankfully.

DR George, you surprise me. I don't recall you mentioning cooking at all. I had the impression you were a non-cook. Do you prepare other dishes too or is this the only dish you choose to make?

I shall shortly be on my way to the theater.

Good evening!

Happy Birthday to DR Ginny's DH Richard!

It has been awhile since Mark Bakalor has posted so I doubt he will see my condolences on the loss of not only his parents home but the home of his in-laws. Strange that the families watched the home burning on the news.
:(

But will it go on the album?

It's been a LONG time since I've baked a cheesecake...probably more than 15 years. I don't otherwise bake very much at all. ::)

Well, I need to leave work and go to rehearsal. We're still learning music, so we'll see if we get to my big song. ;D
Until later.

Terrible news about Mark's parents and inlaws losing their homes
-
All the news from California and the wildfires is terrible

I feel stupid about being stressed out at work when so many are suffering such great losses

And so many have had such horrific deaths

I wish I had something to share
You are sharing, just wish you had happier news to share.

I feel stupid about being stressed out at work when so many are suffering such great losses
You have good reasons for feeling stressed out. Just because things could be worse doesn't lessen what you are dealing with.

Page four? Really?
-
I am exhausted and cannot sleep
-
Back from our final dress/tech - we had about twenty people there to see it - just friends and some family - and they all seemed to enjoy it, but for me the whole show was a little off, and it was mostly due to not having a proper stage manager at this point. So, the actors were given half-hour, fifteen, and five, and then no one gave them places and the lighting designer just started the show - it was so lame and I probably should have stopped it, but I hadn't even been able to give my curtain speech about it being final dress. Needless to say, THAT will not be happening again. So, everyone's energy was off for the entire first third of the show - the pace was great and I have to tell you the little mini-overture thing is fantastic and gets the show off to a perfect start. I gave quite a few notes after, but everyone pretty much knew. I also was rather stern, although not pointing fingers, with our producer, who just let's people go without checking with me or Doug - so a few people weren't there for notes, and I said that until this show opens, I make the schedule and tell people when they can and can't leave. He also sent such a confusing e-mail that about seven people were forty minutes late because they misunderstood it.

Can't turn my brain off

Can we at least get to page 5

How many posts will it take til page five

Bk are you safely away from the fires?

I heard Los Angeles county was affected but I don't know how large an area that encompasses or what part of the county is affected

What is bring one to house and feed all those displaced by the fires?

Oh I found page 5

Good evening, vixmom.

Vixmom, it just kills me that you have to deal with this.

You don’t deserve this hassle.

I am home from rehearsal.

That good, huh? ::)

#131
-
How was rehearsal, George?
Tonight, we staged the song, "A Major Award."
-
The choreographer is also in the show, and she also was in and choreographed The Rocky Horror Show.
-
There's not a lot to the choreography, which is good because it's a long song.
-
And we haven't actually learned the song, so some of us just spoke the words in rhythm...which was fine.
-
It really doesn't matter at this point. :)
-
So, you didn’t work on your song?
-
So, you didn’t work on your song?
Not yet. Tonight was only the dancing.
-
I think it was because they were also having call-backs for their next show, The Wedding Singer, and the music director was there. We actually had to rehearse in a different space at the mall.
-
Well, I'm having trouble staying awake, so I'm going to say good night, Tom. "Good night, Tom." :)
Have a good day, all!
-
Goodnight, George.
-
I hope we all feel better about thing soon.
