Well, you've read the notes, the notes looked back, and now it is time for you to post until the looking back cows come home.

Well, I need to go to sleep.  My ex-boyfriend (we remained friends) is going to call me in the morning to chat.  We haven't seen each other in quite a few years, but we've texted and e-mailed and stayed in contact.

Have a good day, all!

I think I slept well, although it seemed like a very long night.  Faithful Thatch stayed with me all night.  Annabelle crawled into bed for a bit, then headed for her washtub in the bathroom.  She goes through moods.

This is my last City Center day for a week.  Joshie leaves for family tomorrow.  I may bring some work home with me, but I'll only know for sure today.  I have plenty to do here with that choral arrangement and How To Succeed . . . piano/conductor score for Act Two.

I watched THE NAKED CITY (1948) last night on DVD.

Hadn't seen it for 10 years or more, and I was amazed at the number of unbilled/then unknown performers in that cast who later had major careers as character actors...and stars.   Some of them just had silent or one line bits.  It was like "spot the future star".  Among them:

Arthur O'Connell
David Opatoshu
Nehemiah Persoff
Molly Picon
John Marley
James Gregory
Kathleen Freeman
Bruce Gordon
Paul Ford
John Randolph

and
Curt Conway (One of my very first publicity clients and one of the top acting coaches of his day.)

I may have missed one or two, but none of those folks had on-screen billing

Today is Wednesday.

I am having lunch with my lovely cousin Carol - my cousin on my mother's side.  My mother's sisters and brothers all seemed to have children in three's - so there are sets of three cousins very close in age born from the late forties to the mid-sixties.....

The third member of our trio - cousin Jenny - passed away many years ago....I was born in late 1950, Jenny was born in early 1951, and Carol was born in mid 1951.

I remember seeing Penny Marshall and Carrie Fisher in some film about their lives - I don't remember, it may have been on the old A/E channel....anyway, they were getting a massage out by Penny's swimming pool and talking about how women are treated by the industry.....

And Penny said something like - every guy I meet, every guy who takes me out.....after about the third date he says:  "I have a script...."

I have decided not to purchase the new TV....I don't think the increase in screen size by 4" would really make that much difference....I will wait until I can get a screen that's at least 9 or 10 inches wider.....

It would have taken months for me, not much time at all for Keith, weird since he submitted my application half an hour after his.  They sent us options, once we were approved for interviews,  to stop at the airport on our return trip out of the country.   You have to go through regular customs first and then go to the global entry line for the interview.

Jrand, I assume you have room for something that much bigger?  A co-worker of mine told me that she can't get a widescreen TV larger than 36" because in her very small apartment, the only place that she can have a TV is that small.  Of course, she could also completely rearrange things, but that would require taking down shelves and really mucking things up in her place.

I got really lucky.  It all happened rather quickly.  The day or so after my application was approved, I was told I needed to get an appointment and they are usually booked months in advance.  That would not have been good since I'm leaving for Amsterdam in a week.  So, I went online and the first appointment seemed to be in late January.  So, I kinda freaked out.  however, all of a sudden, there on the calendar was an appointment for THAT DAY.  So I grabbed it, made sure i had all my credentials and headed to the airport.  The interview was quick, and the card came a week or two later.  Best $100 I've ever spent.  It's good for 5 years.

For a fee you can get a card that gets you TSA pre-approved for the fast security line in the States, and the fast line when returning from international flights.

I am watching trying to watch this Penatonix Christmas special.  The writing is terrible, but you would think that someone could have taught them how to lip sync.  They are just moving their mouths — no attempt at breath control.  It is really stupid.

Ugh, so not a fan of the Pentatonix

Is there a secret website that has all of the Manhattan Transfer vocal arrangements hidden somewhere?  That would sure make my life a little easier!

Five hours ago I listened to a CD I put in iTunes.  The last selection wasn't of interest to me, so I highlighted those tracks and put them in the trash.  But apparently another track was already highlighted - in the A's and unbeknownst to me it then put everything from A to M in the trash.  I couldn't believe it.  That's half of what I have in iTunes, about 8,000 tracks.  And you can't just drag them from trash back into iTunes either - that would have been simple as pie.  You have to put them on your desktop THEN drag them and putting too many on your desktop gets unwieldy so for five hours I've been doing fifteen tracks at a time and I have another five hours to go and I am IRRITATED.

I wish!  When I was in high school, we sang a couple of their arrangements.  I'm pretty sure that Hal Leonard was one of the publishers.

I would think so.  It's the day before Christmas eve, which isn't any special day...so stores had BETTER be open!
