Thatch kindly let me sleep until nearly 7:00 this morning. They've had their Beef Fancy Feast and wandered off in search of further mischief.

I had a long dream about working at the Drama Book Shop and taking down a DVD display with Patti Lupone.

I officially closed down my 2018 accounts yesterday, so I can begin my tax work. I want to file my taxes in early Feb., as soon as all the 1099s have arrived. This morning, I will take my accordion file, emptied of all receipts,, along with other recyclable trash to the basement.
I'd like to work for a 4-5 hours on this Call Me Madam piano part, break, and then work for a bit on my choral arrangement.

Thanks DR Vixmom for the vibes. They partially worked. Though I did he feel great on the trip to Macau I managed to hold it in. I wasn't so lucky on the trip back. Boy was a lady quickly to me for My trash and to hand me a new bag. Keith told me they had people handing out bags due to the rough weater.

My sister and her husband and daughter are visiting their other daughter and her husband in Maryland.....they went to Ford's Theater in D.C. to see A Christmas Carol - but they couldn't visit the other associated venues because of the government shut down....all of the museums about Lincoln, etc, were closed.

We’ve been very careful to stay out of situations where Richard might pick up germs that would interfere with his surgeries. So, guess who’s come down with a cold - me. I’m trying to keep my distance, but it’s tricky because I’m the chief cook and administerer of the endless eye drops he’s on for the next several weeks. I wash my hands - a lot.

I usually take morning flights but the airfare was quite a bit less for the 5:30 pm flight. Of course I had to pay more for the rental car since I returned it at a later hour than when I picked it up.

Listening to a cracking good mystery, Ngaio Marsh's Enter a Murderer. An actor is murdered for real on stage. Everyone on stage and off had good reason to do him in. Inspector Roderick Alleyn is on the case, so all should be OK soon enough.

Today, I went to my sister's to help her take boxes for an unassebled chicken coop out of the truck she borrowed from her ex-mother-in-law, and put them in her garage. Then, I put this in my car and took it home with me:

The fire is, of course, just some kind of projection behind some fake logs. The heat is just a little box that is attached underneath. You can run the "flames" without any heat, if you want.

I bought myself a little space heater a couple of months ago for up in my bedroom, but it's so loud. :P This is not very loud at all.

I checked and the Comcast TV schedule shows The Orville is supposed to be on at 6:00 and 8:00 pm. I guess 8:00 is when it's really going to be broadcast.

Tonight was a combination of beef and chicken fajitas with guac, really good charro beans, pico and handmade flour tortillas.

Listening to this rather wonderful pianist named Maryla Jonas - prior to yesterday I'd never heard the name. She was a brilliant pianist with a somewhat tragic life that ended when she was in her 40s. Her specialty was Chopin - she made several albums for Columbia from the mid-1940s to the early 1950s - Sony put them on four CDs in a nice box. Now, solo classical music is not so much my thing, but this is just wonderful stuff. What's really astonishing is how many of the mazurkas and nocturnes are tunes that you know instantly, but the ones that are new to me are fantastic. That darn Chopin was something else.

Macau was interest but difficult for me since I did not feel well after the ferry ride. The tour we took was not the best spending more time in the "Vegas" area and shops th and the old Portuguese town. We really did not need to tour the Venetian Hotel. A Chinese one would have been more interesti g to us.
In the old town area I did have a yummy egg custard DR John had me get in Lisbon. 😊😊😊

It turns out that it started about 10 minutes late, but then a repeat of Modern Family after that was joined in progress, so the whole episode was shown. It's just starting again now and it did start on time at 8:00.

Tomorrow, all the libraries that are open on Mondays (not all of them are) will close at 6:00 instead of 7:00.

But those of us who are normally scheduled to work until 7:00, we have to separately account for that last hour.

Today was a much nicer day, weather-wise, than yesterday.

We do have a video - haven't watched it yet so don't know quality. We will be finalizing the script and then that will be available. The score won't happen for a while, although we may put together a vocal selection book.
