Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written on the wonderful first day of 2019 even though they're being posted on the second day of 2019, and now it is time for you to post until the wonderful cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: NEOTERIC!
-
First post after BK!
-
Topic of the Day (just the major things): I got up, showered, got dressed, ran some errands, saw Mary Poppins Returns, ate at a new restaurant, did some shopping, came home, watched Doctor Who, and will now go to bed.
That was my New Year's Day. :)
-
Have a good second day of 2019, all!
-
Yes DR George heat is very nice and I feel much better now that I am not constantly shivering.
-
We went for a nice walk along the harbour which the tour guide pointed out to us when we mentioned we like to walk. I had expected it to be cooler by the water but to my delight it was warmer.
-
We ate dinner at Gordon Ramsey. I had a delicious red pepper tomato soup and Keith had an excellent Caesar salad which he shared just the right amount with me.
We both had fish and chips, something I never order as I only like the chips part and I do not like cod. Since Gordon Ramsey is famous for their fish and chips I figured why not. It was excellent.
-
DR TCB your underwear post was funny. Maybe they were wearing "flashy" underwear knowing it would be seen.
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is another City Center day. I hope I can get through the piano part for Act Two today.
-
My head cold remains centered in my nose and sinuses, which is good, I guess, since it's nowhere near my lungs.
-
I too am glad my cold is not in my lungs. Mine is mostly a sore throat.
-
Good morning, all.
-
T.O.D.
Since January 1st is my wife's birthday, we went out to dinner.
Prior to that, I spent a couple of hours researching my next entry in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS collection of plays.
-
Today is a transition back to “real life”.
Fortunately, not an abrupt return to same. Just a good and somewhat leisurely transition. Some housecleaning to do, which is good. Some music to begin working on, which is good. Some organization of things that have needed organization, that I started on last week, which is good. It’s all good, baby.
-
We went to two beaches and continued our Dexter marathon
-
We are now in season 3
-
Gotta go to work!!
-
Good Morning to all
-
Nothing yesterday
Doctor appointments today
-
I spent the morning enjoying a big leisurely breakfast with friends who had stayed over, and watching a little bit of the Rose Parade...just because. Then I started puttering around on a couple of projects that are among those to be continued today. I took the completely stuffed trash and recycling cans down to the road for the trash pickup this morning. Later, the last few of us threw together some leftovers and settled in to watch I, Tonya which I’d always wanted to see, and I thought it was fine. I managed to get to bed at a halfway decent hour, and that was my day.
-
I've had breakfast, made the bed, cleaned the litter and made a patrol with Annabelle, supplied the cats with fresh water and kibble, paid two bills, closed out my 2018 books, and set up the books for 2019. I still gave to fill the humidifier before I leave.
I'm tired.
-
Act Two vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
TOD: Did some housework, cooked my chicken pasta salad, watched some tiv.....finished reading Lord John Grey and the Brotherhood of the Blade.....I may start on The Scottish Prisoner today.
-
AND................the chair was gone.....someone paid full price $80. Ah well.....another one will show up.....when I see the perfect chair next time - I will spend the money.....now I have my $80, but I don't have the perfect chair..... ALL MY FAULT.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It's a cold, bleak, rainy day out there. Im glad i could work from home and not be out in it.
-
TOD:
I watched one of my DVDs (the stack of new-to-me titles is huge), dtarted a couple of mew books, cooked up a warm mushroom and celery salad that was delicious, went to dinner with friends, played with the bird and watched some more movies.
-
Jan, I agree with your resolution.
-
You're right, George. Rosemary Clooney hated Come On'A My House when she first heard it. I got to interview her five times back in college. Saw her twice. A real pro and a lovely person.
-
Two!
-
I am just catching up on some posts and was reading about DR Vixmom's neighbors having their own fireworks. This is something that I cannot even imagine. Here people are not allowed to do their own fireworks. And I am very happy about that. It would be so noisy, but mainly it sounds super dangerous. Here when the cities do fireworks you are not even allowed anywhere near where they are setting them off.
-
Good morning!
-
Big disappointment:
Checking my book sales on Kindle yesterday, I noticed that $129.00 in royalties was owed to me from Japan.
That was interesting, since, as far as I could recall, I'd never sold any books before in Japan. Could this be an accumulation of several years of previously unreported sales?
Unfortunately, no.
The 129.00 was in Yen, which amounts to somewhere around $1.17 in USD.
:'( :'( :'(

Well, at least you didn't owe them money!
-
My right hip is really hurting today. That is the one that has NOT been replaced. Nor will it ever be replaced. I will suffer instead.
-
I couldn't figure out why I couldn't remember what the topic of the day was, but soon realized that I didn't stay awake last night for the new notes. Duh!
-
T.O.D.
I did nothing constructive yesterday. I got up, played on the computer, and then watched football. And watched football. And watched football. Last night, all the shows I watch were still showing reruns, so that was the end of my day.
-
Sometime late last evening I posted about other men's underwear! And a good time was had by all.
-
This morning I have sneezed nine times in the last ten minutes. I hope that it is just dust, and not the start of something big.
-

How lucky you are, John, to have interviewed Miss Clooney I loved her, and would have truly enjoyed meeting her.
-
And I am sure that she would have felt the same way about meeting me.
-
Sorry! The sneezing has literally gone to my head.
-
Greetings, 1 Guest!
-
Perhaps I should sign off, so that you can sign on.

They are illegal here but they are not illegal in several states just south of us, people drive south , buy fireworks and bring them back here
-
Just had a nice lunch and a cup of tea
-
Mailman just came... o Carol Christmas yet
-
Bk are you able to check what mailing address was used, please?
-
Gotta go need to be back in the office in 5 minutes
-
And I am sure that she would have felt the same way about meeting me.
Ha!
-
vixmom, yes we can check and I've sent that e-mail.
-
I'm up, I'm up - close to eight hours of sleep.
-
I got a few ideas just after I got into bed so I had to get up and write them down.
-
And now I shall futz and finesse.
-

It's very big here, even if the sales are illegal in San Antonio. One step over the county line in at least eight different directions and you'll see fireworks shacks ready for New Year's, Christmas, Fiesta and the Fourth of July.

Don't you hate it when that happens?? :-\

You're right, George. Rosemary Clooney hated Come On'A My House when she first heard it. I got to interview her five times back in college. Saw her twice. A real pro and a lovely person.
A Rosemary Clooney side story: I remember seeing her on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and he commented on how well she enunciated when she sang, that you could understand every word that she sang. I remembered that and most of my singing training was in choirs when you really had to enunciate, too, so I learned how to enunciate when singing and that carried over into my acting. I've always tried to be deliberate (but not obvious) when I sing and act with my enunciating (unlike some friends who just speed through their dialog and don't think about if they'll actually be understood). Anyway, during one of the vocal warm-ups for A Christmas Story last month, the music director commented on how well I enunciate when I sing! ;D
-
Sing out, Georgie!
-
Three!
-
I am home from City Center, and I did finish the Act Two piano part. Tomorrow I will work here on the guitar part and go in on Friday. Thatch and Annabelle both climbed all over me on my arrival, and after the novelty wore off, about five minutes, they went off to pursue other interests.
-
Sing out, Georgie!
Thanks, John! I do!
-
Futzed and finessed a LOT, and wrote two new pages. Now I have to go do a couple of things, then I'll come back, eat, and write at least eight more pages and see how I feel after that. I'd love to finish the first chapter, but we shall see.

They're now illegal within Tumwater city limits, but I heard some going off on NYE. Fortunately, they weren't too loud or very close, but still damage could've been done! >:(

Ditto.

It is 5:30 am here and I have been awake since 3:00 when a leg cramp woke me. Today we have our longest tour. I hope I stay awake. This tour includes a lot of stairs and is not recommended for the elderly ;D
-
vixmom, yes we can check and I've sent that e-mail.
Thank you!
-
It's 5:50 pm, I have come home after work, changed clothes, made a pot of tea, had a long phone call with my mom, and done a load of laundry
-
4 weeks ago I was still sitting at my desk with a couple of unpaid hours still ahead of me
-
I am sorry for my constant crowing but I am so happy and thankful I cannot believe my good luck
-
Speaking of good luck, I finally had a winning mega millions ticket
-
Back from stuff.
-
I decided to invest my winnings
-
All $4 of it
-
I invested in 2 more tickets
-
The first prize ticket was bought about 17 miles from here
-
Not by me
-
I am sorry for my constant crowing but I am so happy and thankful I cannot believe my good luck
No need to apologize for a richly deserved blessing in your life.
-
May your $4 increase an multiply into the millions, Vixmom.
-
Work was slow today, which was good.
I got done what I needed to.
-
I also watched the last hour of Colette and started John Sayles' wonderful, The Secret of Roan Inish. What a sweet story. And the scenes of Ireland make me want to go back there.
-
Well, this is sad: Daryl Dragon, the ‘Captain’ of ’70s Duo Captain & Tennille, Dies at 76 (https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/daryl-dragon-captain-70s-duo-224241941.html). :(
-
Stopped at McDonald's on the way home, since it plays a very tiny role in the new book. I had a Filet o' Fish and a cheeseburger. I think that's really the end of my McDonald's eating for some time.
-
I wrote few more pages - six thus far. I'll definitely do another four and maybe four beyond that if I'm feeling my oats, but my plan is to finish chapter one, which will probably end up being close to thirty pages.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Sorry about the chair, Jack. I would have waited also. After all, many things sit for months. I do hope you find another one that's even more perfect.
-
Like TCB, I kept thinking yesterday was Sunday. But today I kept thinking today was Thursday. ???
-
DR Jennifer, illegal fireworks are common in many areas. I, too, feel that they are dangerous, but there seems to be no stopping some people. Personally, I don't understand the appeal. A professional fireworks show, yes, but not the amateur ones.
-
DR Jane, so glad you have heat now. How horrible to be shivering! I hope the hotel maintenance people came promptly.
-
TCB, I suspect that some of that underwear was from gifts and not chosen by the wearer.
-

Well done. I wish that more students were taught to enunciate. So many mumble and slur and I can't understand them.
-

We are very happy for you, too. It was long overdue.
-
It's nice to see BK enjoying himself so much with this new book.
-
Congrats on all the awards for A CAROL CHRISTMAS. Well-deserved, to be sure.
-
We have had an unusual spate of cold weather--cold for us, anyway. I pulled out my wool sweaters and jackets. I'm usually fine in a fleece jacket, but not these days.
-
Today I tackled the linen closet. Whenever I don't have a place for something I put it in the linen closet. Said linen closet has been COMPLETELY full. I was afraid that if I pulled everything out to reorganize I'd never be able to get it all back in. I'm taking it one shelf at a time and am now maybe 35% done. And, yes, it was difficult to get it all back in, even after tossing some things.
-
TTFN.
-
I don't know - no one here has said much about the A Carol Christmas CD - just a couple of comments in passing. Maybe no one likes it. I do.
-
I think I'll just resume writing in about an hour from now. Not in the mood to really watch anything, so I'll just relax and ponder, then try to barrel through at least four more pages, but perhaps four beyond that to finish the chapter.
-
I haven't seen Rosemary's son Rafael in years but we were pretty good friends for a while. To his dismay, everyone referred to him as Rosemary's Baby. I worked with her on a Brooklyn Academy of Music-PBS Gershwin special that one several Emmys around 1988. I told her I was from the Cincinnati area and she told me she hated going back to visit family. She was really wonderful.

Cool story.
-
I'm continuing my Irish kick with Mike Newell's charming Into the West, which I also haven't seen since it first came out. This one's about a mystical white horse, Tir Na Nog, and two boys who can ride him.
-
Well, this is cool: Jay Inslee, the ‘Climate Candidate,’ Joins the 2020 Race (https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/jay-inslee-climate-candidate-joins-162707307.html). A friend used to work for him before he became the governor and really liked him.

-
And now, it's time for me to leave work and not be here anymore. I think I need to do some shopping (I at least want to get some gas), so we'll see where I end up.
Be back later.
-
I forgot what an old-fashioned tearjerker Into the West is. Fine family entertainment.
-
Good night, all.
-
Thirteen pages so far, so I'll do at least one more, maybe two - not sure I'll quite finish the chapter, but will if I'm feeling adventurous. Meanwhile, not posts in two hours, how unseemly. Perhaps people are listening to A Carol Christmas? Sure would be nice to hear some thoughts, whether yay or nay.
-
Okay, what IS this? It has now been three HOURS since the last post that wasn't mine. Page four? Really?
-
Watched a bad movie I've seen before but for a specific reason. And then wrote another page, and will definitely write one more before bed - that will make fifteen pages.
-
Hi , my name is Vixmom
-
And I'm an addict
-
I can't stop watching Dexter
-
Hi Vixmom.
-
What are you addicted to?
-
It's 2:15 am
-
I should be sleeping
-
But nooo
-
I just cued up another episode
-
But how can I stop now?
-
Especially now that Dexter
-
Has crossed Miguel
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, vixmom.
-
At least you are addicted to a sweet family comedy.
-
If the family is the Mansons.
-
I haven’t binged watch anything in quite a while.
-
AND, A CAROL CHRISTMAS arrived today.
-
Arrived tonight would be more accurate.
-
Glad you got the CD - let me know what you think and it doesn't matter if you don't like it.
-
I'm bleary-eyed right now, but must write notes, then I'll shower, and then write another page.
-
Our mail normally arrives after 5:00 p.m.
-
Some times after 7:00.
-
Glad you got the CD - let me know what you think and it doesn't matter if you don't like it.
I can’t imagine why I wouldn’t like it. I have read nothing but positive things about the show.
-
I am hoping to get one of our local theaters to do the show.
-
No George tonight? Perhaps he went to a movie, or he might be catching up on his TV shows.
-
I was thrilled to hear that MATCH GAME is coming back on Wednesday nights.
-
I love that game show.
-
I got a Christmas letter from one of my cousins today. Her coming to see my show made the letter. I have never been included in a Christmas letter before.
-
Either she really enjoyed my performance, or she had a very boring year.
-
Vixmom has disappeared from the screen, so either she is back to watching DEXTER, or she finally went to bed.
-
I need to go clean Nick’s potty and take my pills.
-
And now, it's time for me to leave work and not be here anymore. I think I need to do some shopping (I at least want to get some gas), so we'll see where I end up.
Be back later.
I got gas and made the mistake of going into Costco.
-
I bought a(nother) 2TB external hard drive. I don't really need it, but it was a lot cheaper than my other drives and it's USB3, so it'll transfer files much, Much, MUCH (that's three muches) more quickly than my USB2 drives.
-

I listened to most of it today (I actually listened to "This Christmas" three times!) and have thoroughly enjoyed what I've heard! I'll finish it tomorrow, then listen to it again. :)
-
No George tonight? Perhaps he went to a movie, or he might be catching up on his TV shows.
After I came home, I set up my new external hard drive and have started transferring files from one of my USB2 hard drives so that I can put that back on my Windows XP computer.
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
-
Uhhh, six!
-
TCB, that would be great - if they need a script to read we'll have it soon. Also, there's a good part for you in it. :)
-
Dear reader George, do post an Amazon review - we only have one at the moment.
-
I thought I was running a fever. Turns out I left the heat on in the living room.
-
Vixmom, I think it went to your old work address, as that's what you provided us - I'm sure it's arrived already - can you retrieve it. Melville NY.
-
Vixmom has disappeared from the screen, so either she is back to watching DEXTER, or she finally went to bed.
Dexter ...against all sense and reason..
