Well, you've read the notes, the notes mentioned the first Kritzerland release of 2019, and now it is time for you to post until the 2019 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GADABOUT!
-
Seventeen page - good day's writing. Now I'll take a hot shower.
-
First post after BK!
-
CD has been ordered!
-
Jan I will keep the sactuary in mind as it sounds wonderful. I doubt though that we will have time for it.
-
We liked the floating market, too.
-
My nephew bought crickets, spiders, and other bugs to eat as we walked around.
-
He thought it was funny to eat them in front of tourists and gross them out.
-
If you like potato chips, try to find some durian chips to snack on. They look like potato chips but are made out durian which is an extremely stinky fruit. They don't smell like durian but taste slightly sweet. Any time anyone in the family goes back to visit, they always bring me back some.
-
Well, I need to get to sleep. I've got a four-hour union/management meeting tomorrow :P (I'm on the union side).
Good night, jan, and have a good day, all!
-
Night, George, sleep well.

Since we are vegetarians I will pass on these ;)

Good morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
This week is running away from me.
-
BK, i saw on Facebook that you ordered a DVD of the Japanese production of Grand Hotel. I can’t figure out how to find out the price and what region DVD it is. Can you share that?
-
Everything was in Japanese, which is all Greek to me.
-
T.O.D.
DEAD OF NIGHT
I understand the new film from the Coen Brothers is an anthology movie, but I haven't seen it. Not at Redbox yet.
-
Sorry I wasn't here yesterday I was dozing off
-
I have no desire to eat bugs or be groped by an elephant
-
So I won't
-
I have no news
-
But I must get ready for work
-
Laters!!
-
Good morning, all.
-
It feels like a Friday morning.
No particular reason. Mostly likely it's the one-two punch of two storms coming through and having to prep for it today. Here we go. We're in winter now, for real.
-
I love anthology movies. I'll take 'em all.
ASYLUM is the one that brought me into the fold, in '72 or '73, my first year living in Hollywood. Unless my memory is seriously skewed, it was at the Pantages and I went back a couple of times. For some reason, I don't think I managed to catch the other Hammer and Amicus anthologies in theaters. Most of these were seen as I acquired home video releases.
It's been several years since I've indulged in any of them -- except for the TV movie TRILOGY OF TERROR which we just watched the other night in order to listen to the new commentary. Love it. Good or bad, movies like this one never fail to make me incredibly nostalgic for the 1970s.
I need to find a list, or make my own, of all anthology movies, both theatrical and TV.

Writing vibes for MR BK.
Continued sailing vibes for DR JANE - and no more hitting whales.....
-
ABC News reported last night that a 16 year old fell off a cruise ship in the Caribbean ....
-
Weather is okay here - none of the freezing rain that was predicted. Next bad weather here on Saturday......
-
Good morning, all!
-
I went back to sleep after feeding the cats.
-
The photos that we got off my uncle's flip phone have been returned, so we are taking them to him today. I also made a short slide show of them and put it on DVD.....it is very entertaining.....what with Miss Patti Page singing "How Much Is That Doggie In the Window" - and then a couple of minutes of the song played on the pianny.
-
Early in the morning, or late last night, Annabelle left her aerie to snuggle with me and Thatch for warmth. She made a misstep coming down from the heights, and brought a pile of books with her. None were heavy or large books but it was a painful and unwelcome surprise. So, after I clean the litter, I will get on a step ladder with my dust buster and restack books.

TOD:
Trilogy of Terror
Tales of Manhattan
We're Not Married
O'Henry's Full House
There was a Hammer one set on a train.....hmmm...I wonder if it's one of the one's DR CHAS SMITH mentioned....
DR. TERRORS HOUSE OF HORRORS....a mysterious man joins a group of people on a train and used tarot cards to tell their futures which all turn out to be bleak....of course it turns out they are all dead as the train crashed and the mysterious man is DEATH.....this is the first movie I remember seeing Donald Sutherland in....

Happy Anniversary to DR Ginny and DH Richard!

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a box of fish filets. I got the box out of the freezer to cook today and it had morphed into a box of fish sticks.
I guess I'm having fish sticks today. Now all I need is a bag of tater tots.....
-
I'm sure DR JOHN G is shaking his head in agony right now.
-
Also I should learn to read at the grocery store.
-
The Game Warden was just here and gave me some good news.
-
Happy Happily Ever After, Ginny and Fr. Richard!
-
I'm sure DR JOHN G is shaking his head in agony right now.

I should probably say that I love all kinds of anthologies, not just horror which is what my first post might lead one to believe.

Looking forward to the CD, BK. Nice to see some horror coming down the pike.
It seems I have both the domestic and the UK DVDs of THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD, and I don’t remember why I kept both. But it’s time to watch it again. That can kick off my anthology-a-thon.

Woops, I see Shout released it on Blu-ray this past year.

Today I am broken hearted. Yesterday, in one of their Silent Kills, in which no one is notified of its occurrence, 7-month old puppy Hancho was murdered by the Manhattan Animal Care Center. He weighed 36 lbs.
He was abused since the first of his two owners adopted him. The second owners who dumped him in Dec. at the ACC fed him two cups of rice a day and punished him when he tried to find more food, never trained him for behavior or potty, kept him in a small crate so he arrived malnourished and with bed sores from being unable to move. I wanted to adopt him in Dec. because he was so adorable and he vanished. I assumed he was adopted so I was happy, but instead he caught a cold, and while he was taken to isolation, he nipped a volunteer's finger and the ACC declared him an At Risk animal. As soon as the Dept. of Health Hold was over, he was not put up for adoption, although several people, including me, wanted him. Instead he was quietly murdered yesterday afternoon.
We have two videos from December to prove that he once walked on this earth.

I detest these shits and the ACC. They should be euthanized.

Cereal fans, Stop the presses! Peeps Cereal is coming soon!

I may be ill.

So sorry, Elmore. He was beautiful.
-
So sorry, Elmore. He was beautiful.
He was just a baby. What hurts the most is, why didn't they put him up for rescue or adoption? Goddamned killers.
-
I futzed and finessed quite a bit, then wrote three new pages. Getting a haircut shortly, then I may just have to satisfy the pizza craving.

We had a most delightful anniversary lunch at The Grand Finale, one of our favorite restaurants. We went at 2pm, so pretty much had the place to ourselves. Stopped for a few groceries in preparation for another snowy weekend and now I’m chilling at home until Katie picks me up for book group.
-
Haircut done. I think I won't go to the mail place even though there's a package there - I think I'll go get some pizza, eat, and then try to write five more pages in the next three hours or so.
-
Sad news DR ELMORE.
-
Uh oh I forgot TALES OF HOFFMAN....strange but entertaining.
-
the Australian Open Tennis Tournament is in its third round, I may watch it tonight instead of hockey.
And it is peplum night on TCM beginning with QUO VADIS? followed by THE FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE.
The first movie always reminds me of a review of an Italian Gladiator movie starring Dan Vadis in Steven Sheuer TV Movie Guide:
"Quo Vadis? Whoa,Vadis!"
And then of course his description of "From Hell It Came":
To hell with it!

My sympathies and my anger.
I've never understood how a decent human being can kill a healthy dog or cat.

Gratuitous Post #100!

Be back later!

I’m tired. Really tired. But too tired to sleep.

This has been a difficult last few hours. I can't speak of it yet, but you will understand when I do - probably tomorrow.

The Game Warden was just here and gave me some good news.
Did she trap your unwanted visitor and relocate her/him?

Vibes of comfort to BK

I am sorry Elmore about the puppy
-
Only 7 more hours of Dexter left

I think I've done thirteen pages so far and will definitely do another two - very difficult staying in that mode right now but it's actually helpful. Took a break and watched two episodes of You on Netflix.
-
Last day at sea, still a wee bit rocky. I stopped the cough meds last night figuring they were not helping my motion sickness. It isnt bad and I suspect would hardley be noticeable if I didn't have this cold.
Good is my cough is light enough I could sleep without coughing.
-
After lunch while heading back to our room I walked, or rather was propelled, into the wall ;D

I didn't even know I was on Netflix...I wonder when I'll get my residuals check

Jrand's A Carol Christmas review has finally posted, two days after being written. Hopefully TCB's will follow. I've finished off the 15th page and I'm done for the evening and emotionally spent from the news of the day.
-
Good evening.
-
BK, my review hasn’t posted yet, because I am still working on it.
-
Happy Belated Anniversary Vibes to Ginny and Richard!!

Still on page four?
-
This is not good!

One more post.

Page 5
-
I am afraid I can’t stay.
-
I am trying to track down a missing cable payment.
-
They are saying they never got the money.
-
This is very puzzling.
-
Anyway, I wil leave it to George to finish today, while I suffer a meltdown.
-
I thought you said you'd posted it - my bad.
-
Page five? Really?
-
Page five? Really?
Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick! :o

;)
-
Tonight, I watched tonight's episode of The Orville.
-
A couple of Billy Joel songs were featured prominently in the plot.
-
I'm sure that they also got the DVD rights to the songs, since the first season was released on DVD.
-
I hate it when shows have to change out music because the DVD rights are so expensive.
-
A co-worker of mine told me about a show that she used to watch back in the 1990s.
-
When it was finally released on DVD (or maybe even VHS), one episode had to be cut from the entire season because of one song (I don't remember which) that was featured prominently throughout the entire episode in both the script and soundtrack.
-
The producers got the broadcast rights, but because home video rights weren't handled the way they are now, they either couldn't get the rights after the fact or they were prohibitively expensive.
-
I M Back!
-
I hate to ever say this publicly, but Century Link was correct, and I was wrong.
-
I never wrote in a reference # so I guessed I never sent the payment.
-

I like that.

At least you found the error.
-
I am basically packed.
-
When do you debark? And where?

I hate to ever say this publicly, but Century Link was correct, and I was wrong.
Don't you hate it when that happens??
-
Tom, can you set it up to have the payment made automatically so that you don't have to worry about it ever again? You just need to stop paying when/if you ever make a change.
-
I have a lot of my monthlies set up to just pay automatically. I get a notice so that I know how much it'll be, and that's it. :)
-
I work with a couple of people who don't do anything like that.
-

Century Link is always a different amount, which is why it isn’t sent automatically.
-
One has told me a few times when had had to make a payment for something, and he goes to the place of business to make the payment, or has to go to his bank and have them send a check. It's all so 20th century!
;)
-

Oh. My insurance and my utilities are always different, but as long as I get the notice, it's not a problem for me to have those set up to be paid automatically. Different companies have different procedures.

I don't have it set up to send a certain amount of money. I set it up with the companies through their websites to take the money. I get an e-mail usually at least 10 days before something's due telling me exactly how much it'll be that month, and then they just take it on that day.
-
I have my insurance, utilities, phone, power, Comcast and a donation set up to be paid automatically. Just like the commercial, "set it and forget it!"
