Well, you've read the notes, the notes were baaaaaaaaaack, and now it is time for you to post until the they're baaaaaaaaaack cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CUMULATE!
-
First post after BK!
-
Can't wait to read (and read about) the new book!
-
Today, I go back to work (as do so many others) after the three day weekend. But, I need to sleep first, so I shall.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have not heard from Joshie, so I do not know if he had any travel issues or if I am going into City Center this morning. If not, I will stay here and continue my work on How To Succeed . . .
-
BK, that clip of Merman is wonderful!
-
Good morning.
-
All's quiet. So far.
-
Glad to hear it Laura!
-
Did anyone answer the door yesterday when the bell was rung?
-
Welcome back Adriana Hofstetter!!
-
Then phone says temperature outside is 14 but feels like 1
-
All I know is the floors and walls in the house are cold
-
There's been no word from Joshie, which has me worried.
-
You think YOU'RE cold!
-
Congrats to MR BK on the new mystery book mystery.....
-
Loved seeing Miss Ethel Merman sing her song....and you can bet the lyrics were exactly what Mr. Stephen Sondheim wrote....with no additional lyrics by Miss Merman.
Of course there is the story of Miss Judy Garland sitting with Mr Irving Berlin and taking some liberties with the notes.....when she was corrected she said (it is reported in some quarters): "You write 'em, Buster, I sing 'em."
-
I am hoping the repair work is completed and that I can go this afternoon and get a new battery for the locomotion machine.....if it will start when the temperature gets closer to 30 degrees.
-
Welcome come to DR JANE & KEITH!

Yes, indeed. Welcome back!
-

-
Good morning, all.
-
And welcome back, Adriana!
-
Let’s move on...
-
Two!
-
Today is the day of the annual employee meeting. That’s when a bonus of some sort will be announced. It’s like our St. Nicholas Day, I guess.
-
Good morning , old friends and soon-to-be new friends, especially vixmom.
-
Joshie got home at 3:00 this morning, thanks to delayed flights. I will go into City center on Thursday.
-
It's DR WILLIAM F ORR two days in a row!
-
Bonus vibes for DR JOHN G.
The bill for the heat pump today was $200.....which is okay, I guess. I have to use the furnace only until he can come back and work on the heat pump fan....it is somewhat out of balance....BUT I have heat in the house....and the heat pump doesn't work in very COLD weather anyway....
-

The bonus is good. Not as good as previous years (14.8%), but i ain’t complaining.
-
Just make sure we all get our cut, DR John G.

Yep, that's probably okay. I pay close to $300 annually for a maintenance contract with the local fuel oil supplier. That covers certain basic parts, so when, say, an igniter decides to die in the middle of a January night, they will get one of their people up and come out and fix it. (I had an experience some years ago that proves that.) Of course, certain other things that decide to die will get billed. But the best thing is that service is immediate, or within a day or so if not an outright emergency.
-
Good morning , old friends and soon-to-be new friends, especially vixmom.
Greetings, sir. I'm "new" since early 2012 or thereabouts.
-
I like immediate service.
-
Kaye Ballard has died. I adored her. I've known her since 1985 or so.
-
Sorry to hear about Kaye - adored by everyone, including me. What a delight to work with. And what a long and wonderful life. It's too bad she couldn't have hung on just a bit longer, for the release of the documentary about her.
-
I'm up, I'm up - probably six and a half hours of sleep.
-
Just make sure we all get our cut, DR John G.
Exactly. Who are you again?
;)
-
Kaye Ballard has died. I adored her. I've known her since 1985 or so.
So sorry to read that. I loved her voice. From the Bagley records and the album she did with Alan Jay Lerner to her singing on Jason Graae’s album. And of course, Lazy Afternoon.
-
Last night I went to a memorial celebration of the life of Tony Finstrom a playwright, actor & director here in Southern Florida. As part of the celebration, they gave out his cd collection and magnet and pins from Broadway shows.
A large part of his collection was Bruce Kimmel produced CDs from Varese Sarabande and Kritzerland. People were taking the Lost in Boston and Unsung Series amoung. Soundtracks also were chosen.

T.O.D.
Never paid attention to the record labels. Just bought the records I wanted.
-
Oscar nominations:
I haven't seen one of the nominated films, nor do I have any interest in seeing any of them until they're out on DVD or on TV.
I would like to see STAN & OLLIE and THE MULE, but they seem to have been ignored.

Bonus vibes for DR JOHN G.

You're lucky! As a taxes paid employee, we don't get bonuses EVER. We negotiate raises for each of the three years of our contract, and this year we're negotiating again for the next three years (2020-2022). For this contract, we got a 2% raise for the first year (2017), and a 1.5% raise for both 2018 and 2019. Not a lot, but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. ;)
-
There was no question they'd ignore The Mule - they don't like Clint anymore, and yet at eighty-eight he made one of the best films of 2019. Ageism lives in Hollywood CA.
-
Did some errands and am back and relaxing until dinner.
-
And I am back as well.
My brother was pulling into his driveway when I went out to try to start the car....which didn't.....so I walked down and asked him if he had a charger. He said he could use his cables and jump start my car.....which we did.
While it was running, I called Goodyear/CarX and told them I was bringing my car in - sorry I couldn't call for an appointment....he said no problem bring it in.
I did so - nice new InterState battery with a 24 month replacement guarantee and an additional pro rated 5 year performance guarantee....also needed a gasket and a thermostat......total $300....so I am feeling very poor this afternoon.
But I have a furnace AND a car.
-
I thought the Capitol yellow/orange label was very nice....and of course The Beatles AND The Beach Boys recorded for them....
The Laurie label - black and red - and the Buena Vista labels were also very attractive.
BUT my favorite was ABC-Paramount.

-
The Kids Are Alright is on tonight if you haven't seen it yet.....my favorite new series.
-

Never paid attention to the record labels. Just bought the records I wanted.
Ditto. ::) Growing up, I didn't know from record labels.

Oh, no. :'(

PAGE 3 RECORD LABEL DANCE
-
That one's a little "off", too light in color.
But it's what I could find on a really fast search.
Maybe a later Columbia pressing instead of an original RCA.
-
Welcome come to DR JANE & KEITH!
Almost there thank you.
-
We are on hour four of our five hour layover in the other Vancouver.
-
Thanks to Global entry we have been welcomed back to the US and won't have to go through customs in Portland.
-
We sat down for a nice lunch/early dinner.
-
I puchased a couple of tops at the Desiqual store I wish I could have found before the cruise.
-
We each had a 10 minute chair massage.
-
In total we have walked, so far, 6 miles in airports.
-
It's DR WILLIAM F ORR two days in a row!
Yay 😊

TOD:
Columbia
Verve
Painted Smiles
-
Facing one of the great existential questions tonight:
Is he gay or European?
-
I dozed a few minutes. If some hadn't kept banging on a door to fix it I would have slept.
-
All of a sudden Keith said another passenger commentec that our gate had changed and off we rushed. No announcement and the gate we were itting at still said Portland.
-
We have boarded with our carry-on luggage so all is good.
-
Keith purchased milk for his coffee and my cereal, plus a banana while I was dosing. Now we don't have to go to the market tonight.
-
Time to go to airplane mode.
-
Growing up I was fond of Columbia and RCA for their cast albums and soundtracks. Also rans were Capitol and Decca. Later I discovered the bizarre Painted Smiles on trips to NYC
-
Good morning , old friends and soon-to-be new friends, especially vixmom.
Two days of WFO. Now that's a treat!
-
Good morning , old friends and soon-to-be new friends, especially vixmom.
Greetings, sir. I'm "new" since early 2012 or thereabouts.
Chas, WFO and I have been friends since the late '70's. He was a member here long before I was.
I think you two will like each other a lot
-
Kaye Ballard has died. I adored her. I've known her since 1985 or so.

Sorry to hear about Kaye - adored by everyone, including me. What a delight to work with. And what a long and wonderful life. It's too bad she couldn't have hung on just a bit longer, for the release of the documentary about her.
According to this article on Playbill.com (http://www.playbill.com/article/kaye-ballard-star-of-broadways-the-golden-apple-dies-at-93), "Ballard recently attended the opening of a new documentary film about her life, which premiered earlier this month at the Palm Springs Film Festival." So, she did get to see it. That's good. :)
-
And now, I must be off. I need to refresh my usher training at the Washington Center (we have to every two years), so I'm off to refresh.
Be back later.
-
Good evening.
-
Re Kaye Ballard: When Kerry, Dennis, Sandra and I were in Palm Springs (a month before Kerry passed away), Kaye Ballard was at Jason Graae's concert. She was standing about ten feet away from us, and Kerry was very excited to get the chance to meet her.
I enjoyed her in the Julie Andrews version of Cinderella, where Kaye played the role of a stepsister.
-
I went hiking on my favorite trail today -- I haven't been there since before I was hit with The Sciatica. It was so good to be back.
-
Where you belong....as they say.....
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Glad to hear that Jrand and Birdy are pleasantly toasty.
-
Sorry to hear about Kaye Ballard. I know many of you were very fond of her.
-
Very nice bonus, John G. My employers were never very generous.
-
Acorn TV has brought back the excellent series, THE HOUR, about early investigative journalism in the 1950s at the BBC. It stars Ben Whishaw, who of course is the voice of Paddington Bear. I had not seen PADDINGTON (the movie) when I first saw THE HOUR. Now when I watch THE HOUR Ben Whishaw's voice often reminds me Paddingon. I hear the bear as well as the journalist.
-
Errands today. Where do they all come from?
-
Welcome home to Jane and Keith. Where are you going next?
-
vibes to all.
Good night.
-
Welcome hone Jane and Keith
Thank you.

Great news.

Welcome home to Jane and Keith. Where are you going next?
Thank you.
Montreal?
-
For now I want to stay home. It has been a very long day.
-
We are very tired.
-
'night
-
A nice, relaxing day of not doing much of anything. No packages to pick up, one errand to run, and then a celebratory dinner at the Smoke House with Sami and her mom. Seated right across from us, just finishing their meal, Mitzi McCall and Charlie Brill.
-
Good evening.
-
Welcome back, WFO!
-
Welcome home, Jane and Keith.
-
Happy HEAT vibes to DR Jrand!
-
Happy recovery vibes to DR Laura.
-
What a miserable day, weather-wise, here in the Pacific Northwet.
-
Still on page 4? Seriously?
-
BK, how come Sami isn’t back at school?
-
In spite of the rain, I still ran some errands today.
-
I got my hairs cut.
-
And I got a new set of batteries for the scooter. I really didn’t want to have thescooter to die in Guatemala!
-
One more post.
-
Page 5
-
Sami goes back on Saturday.
-
Well, a new page!
-
I decided to go to the old actors lunch tomorrow. I was going to skip it, but it will make a nice break.
-
What a miserable day, weather-wise, here in the Pacific Northwet.
VERY rainy!
-
My head is overflowing with things I need to do.
-
Sami goes back on Saturday.
Damn, I should have saved that question for tomorrow.
-
I never have any good questions for ASK BK Day.
-
Well, George, have you been reushered?
-
Sorry to hear about Kaye Ballard.
-
This afternoon I came down with a horrific headache. And I haven’t had a headache in years.
-
Hi, Kevin. Why are you up so late, or so early?
-
Well, George, have you been reushered?
Yes. I'm good for another two years.
-
I enjoyed Kaye Ballard6 on the OBC of CARNIVAL.
-
This afternoon I came down with a horrific headache. And I haven’t had a headache in years.
That's terrible!
~~~Headache-Be-Gone Vibes for Tom!!~~~
-
At the 85th Anniversary Gala at Tacoma Little Theatre, my friend Betzy and I performed “Humming” from CARNIVAL.
