Well, you've read the notes, the notes were celebratory, and now it is time for you to post until the celebratory cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ADRENALIZE!
-
First post after BK.
-
First post after TCB.
-
Best set? Hmm, that is a tough one. I will have to think about that.
-
In fact, I guess I will sleep on it. Goodnight, George.
-
Spoo! I just took a short, impromptu nap. Better get some real sleep now.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Not sleeping well.
-
TOD 1:
Two that immediately come to mind are Hal Prince’s overblown Grind, with its dazzling burlesque marquee, and an Actors Theater of Louisville production of Morning’s at Seven with very realistic houses complete with running water.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I remember a dream, about a friend and me walking to Fifth Avenue, which looked more like Middletown, Ohio, than New York, to hear a friend teaching a summer school class to young Jewish students. When we got there, the class was about food, and we sampled a ton of dishes. My friend Arlene, who hosted the first seder I ever attended, kept pushing a dish with green beans at me.
-
This is another How To Succeed . . . day. I'll talk to Joshie about tomorrow.
-
The first thing that came to mind was the set for the original La Cage Aux Folles
-
I must get ready for work.
-
It's a balmy 34 degrees today
-
Good morning, all.
-
It’s going up to about 40 today and 55 tomorrow, with no freezing in between, and that is wonderful news. This ice can’t go away fast enough.
Cold again after that, but with no storms in the foreseeable future we are happy campers.
-
Smoke House meal sounds heavenly as always.
-
Good morning, all! No work to get up for. Aaah, retirement! Trouble is, I seem to have more to do and less time to do it :-than when I was working 50 hr./wk!
-
In other news, I have just added to my burthen by taking on Keyboard 1 in A Chorus Line at a regional theater in late March & early April. That gets snuggled between the college Hello, Dolly!, the high school Shrek The Musical, and the regional Disaster!. Somewhere in there I’m subbing in The Bikinis, easily the most Oy!-able of them all.
-
March & April is a bit early for a bikini, but I am sure you will be fine DR CHAS SMITH.
-
LONG rehearsal vibes for MR BK.
-
Well I remember the oil derrick in WILDCAT when I was 10 or so....so we shall see what else I remember as the day goes on....
-
Thanks for the wrlcome home TCB. I am glad you have a new battery for your upcoming trip. Will you take the old one as a spare?
-
DR JEANNE Acorn TV has a series titled A Place to Call Home about Australia in the 50's.....it has David Berry from OUTLANDER in it. Of course I can't see it, but if you have the service you might give it a look.
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely - maybe four hours of sleep.
-
TOD 2:
Robin Wagner’s set for On the 20th Century. It danced. It propelled the show as much as Cy Coleman’s superior score.
None, the original production, was a simple set of spa tiles that was a miracle of functionality under tge lights.
-
TOD 3:
Robin Wagner’s work on A Chorus Line it served the show and could not have been bettered.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Yesterday was a busy day for me - I left the house 3 times and was exhausted when I was finally home after the 3rd trip. First, I went for an early coffee visit with Rebecca at the Starbucks that's between our homes. I hadn't seen her since December 17, so we had a LOT to talk about. Came home for a quick lunch, then went for my semi-annual cardiologist check-up (uneventful). Came home again, regrouped, then Richard and I went to Kroger.
-
FOLLIES, Boris Aronson's original set, is one of the greatest ever, if not the greatest.
-
Page 2 Dance!

She has been watching it.
-
DR Ginny I am glad your visit to the cardiologist was uneventful.

Never have seen a live production of that. I imagine it was from the photos and videos

The secret of designing FOLLIES is getting from the ruined theatre to Loveland and then back as magically and quickly as possible. The designer of the last turkey revival hadn't a clue for either the ruined theatre or Loveland.
-
I have to imagine, too, I'm sorry to say.
-
Monthly dinner with the director friend tonight.
Hoping the jernt still has the great fish and chips I had there several months ago. Dying for that.
-
Two days on the P-C of "Cinderella Darling." I'm ready to get drunk.
-
Topic of the Day:
The Secret Garden in Seattle at the 5th Avenue Theatre a couple of years ago. It was beautiful!
-
Locally, Theater Artists Olympia did a play called On the Verge; or, The Geography of Yearning. It was a very simple, beige set, but there were projections. Here you can see the actual set color with a little bit of an image:
-
Here's one with another projection:
-
And this is my favorite...and a LOT of people loved it, too:

One of my favorite plays! I saw it Off-off-Broadway on Theatre Row around 1985. It was really wonderful.

I'd never heard of it, but it was one of the best things that TAO did. It was very well attended and got some great reviews.

Good afternoon.
-
I am home from the old actors lunch.
-
I stopped and picked up a piece of Hummingbird Cake for dessert.
-
Now, I have overdosed on sugar, so I have no energy to do any of my chores.
-
Good afternoon.
-
Thanks for the wrlcome home TCB. I am glad you have a new battery for your upcoming trip. Will you take the old one as a spare?
No, they don't let you keep the old batteries, because they have to be properly disposed of. Besides. they are too heavy for me to put in my luggage.
-
I hiked my mountain again today. Then I stopped at my son and DIL's home to pick up something. I got to see the baby. He gave me a big smile.
-
Good afternoon.
Hello, Laura.
-
My DH is putting up the third camera on our house -- this one points to the patio door in the backyard.
-
The wireless-ness is turning out to be a problem.
-
Hi TCB. When do you go on your vacation?
-
Thanks DR JANE I just became aware of the show and I guess I don't remember DR JEANNE mentioning it.
-
I wonder if MR BK is getting his pulled pork? ....so to speak.....
I liked ON THE VERGE when I saw it at the Phoenix Theatre in Indy many years ago.....but one of the three main actresses was not up to the task.
-
Hi TCB. When do you go on your vacation?
I leave early Saturday morning.
-
Later.

-
Hello, everyone.
-
Travel vibes in advance for TCB.
-
Thanks DR JANE I just became aware of the show and I guess I don't remember DR JEANNE mentioning it.
Yes, I've been quite addicted to it since I first discovered it. It's very good. You were quite right in guessing that I'd like it.
-
I've been trying to catch up on a bunch of things. No rest for the weary.
-
I have no news.
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Finally back from the endless rehearsal, but glad I was there because I could see where the problems were going to be even thought we couldn't go quite in show order due to one of our musician's having to leave after three hours and one singer not being there. Stopped and got In N Out and now I'm home.
-
A Question for BK: Isn't today supposed to be Ask BK Day?
;)
-
You're right it is. I was too tired when I wrote the notes and I'm even more tired now. So, tomorrow will be Ask BK Day
-
Something to look forward to.
-

I wondered about the weight. That is good they dispose of the batteries.

Awww.

Good. I hope you don't need to film anyone that doesn't belong.
-
The wireless-ness is turning out to be a problem.
Oh.
-
Thanks DR JANE I just became aware of the show and I guess I don't remember DR JEANNE mentioning it.
Not surprising since you weren't watching it ;) You also don't remember that I was watching it as well, which is why I remember DR Jeanne watched it.
-
Hi TCB. When do you go on your vacation?
I leave early Saturday morning.
Please send me a link to your cruise so I can track you.
-
Well, I need to be leaving work now. I and several co-workers are going up to Seattle for the ALA (American Library Association) Midwinter Conference. We're only going to the exhibition hall with all the publishers and sellers (FREE STUFF!!).
-
But since it's a work day, we need to make sure that we don't actually work more than 32 hours this week (normally 40, but 32 because of MLK Day), so I need to take time off during the regular week, which means I'm leaving now.
Be back later.
-
Started watching Bel Canto. I hope Julianne Moore doesn't sing too much. The dubbing is sloppy.
The rest of the film is okay, though starting slow.
-
I liked the book much better.
-
I'm listening to a rollicking good true-life medical thriller called Bad Blood, which is about a puffed up business that promised to deliver blood testing equipment but never developed anything that worked. Despite that, billions went into the company. Fascinating story.
-
And I only have 30 pages left in Beloved.
-
This week at work has been crazy. I've been called in on a government shutdown project, and no one seems to know how to make it all come together. I hope everyone is appreciating my volumes of questions.
-
Good luck with the project.

I like FREE STUFF! Marie Duplecks, or whatever her name is, probably would not.
-
Had a lovely dinner tonight during Restaurant Weeks of a green salad with tangerines, corbino fish over dirty rice and buttermilk panna cotta.
-
The big meal comes Friday afternoon. I get to judge a barbecue contest. Though I'm judging rib-eyes and desserts.
-
By the way, my new boss can quote follies songs. That's cool by me.
-
Let's get off this page.
-
One more post.
-
Four!
-
Bel Canto is nearing an end. Surprisingly, the director captured a lot of what was good about the book.
-
By the way, my new boss can quote follies songs. That's cool by me.

-
What, no Amazon reviews of the new book yet??? Oh, wait...
-
I watched Stan and Ollie, about which more later in the notes.
-
DR elmore a few days ago someone asked if you are feeling better. I never saw your response. Do you still have your cold?
-

I'm going to bring a couple of extra bags, just in case. ;)

That boss is a keeper!
-
Good evening.
-
Hi, George.
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
Hi, Tom.
-
George, for some reason, I thought you were going to the library conference in Seattle tonight.
-
I pulled out my carryon to get ready for my trip.
-
As usual, I found a lot of loose change at the bottom of the bag, where it all ends up before I go through the TSA screeners.
-
Among the coins, I found a couple of Danish Krones and five one dollar coins!
-
U.S. dollar coins.
-
I have no idea where I got them.
-
At first I was hoping they were chocolate coins, but no such luck.
-
Are we still on page four.
-

That's pretty cool.
-
We need to get our rear in gear!!
-
I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I don’t know often I will be able to post next week on the ship.
-
So, what are you going to do with the Danish Krones? Gonna save 'em and go back?
-
Now that I am a senior citizen on a fixed income, I really can’t afford those expense computer rates on the ship.
-

As usual? I would expect you to empty your bag after each trip ;D
-

Probably save them, but doubt I will be going back any time soon.
-

My regular luggage, but not my carryon bag.

I think even BK would understand.

No free wifi to use your tablet instead of the ship's computer? Do you have a smartphone that will possibly work in the the ports?
-

I empty everything.

PAGE FIVE DANCE!!

I take all of the stuff out of the bag, it is just the change on the bottom that remains.
-
I am anxious to find out what BK thought of STAN & OLLIE.
-
I hear it is a lovely film.
-
Vixmom, why are you up this late?
-
Still watching SIX FEET UNDER?
-
I wanted to like that series. I watched it when it started, but I lost interest.
-
I like Peter Krause, but I still got tired of it.
-
Well, at least we are on page five.
-
-
A law was made a distant moon ago......
-
July and August can not be too hot.
-
And there’s a legal limit to the snow here,
-
...in Camelot!
-
Thank you, I’ll be here all week (at least though Friday).
-
Goodnight, George.
-
Goodnight, vixmom.
-
Good night, Tom.
